Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: I made a withdrawal from my savings account. Upon looking at my ATM receipt I noticed that my balance stated {$390.00} instead of {$400.00}. Prior to the withdrawal, I had a balance of {$600.00}. I withdrew {$200.00}. My balance should have been {$400.00}. I noticed a charge of {$8.00} service fee. I had this savings account for years. I had never had any kind of fees for having this account. This account was a savings account. I then went to my car and contacted the bank. I was informed by the bank that my savings account had been changed to a checking account and that I the fee charged was a service fee for having that account. I stated to them that I had not authorized capital one to change any of my accounts or requested a new account. I was instructed that because I had made several transactions that my account was automatically changed. I have never heard of such. A few of the transactions made was my moving money from my checking account to savings and vice versa. This is the normal behavior of many who have a checking and savings account. I then requested to speak with a manager. The manager got on the phone refunded me the {$8.00} fee. I stated that you refunded the fee now but now I have to continue to address a fee problem from this point on when I had not had to before. I was told that I would need to now keep a specific amount in my account or be charged. I requested for the account to be changed back to the savings account. I was told that they could not do so. If I wanted a savings account, I would need to request a new savings account and close this account. I informed them that this is fraud and that the bank had no business changing my account and not first informing me. I found out about this by seeing the charge. This is another way for banks to make money by forcing their existing customers to take on new accounts and charging them for having them. I, the customer have not signed or provided authorization for this change. I informed them that I was recording the call and both individuals were ok with the recording. The manager stated that this information is written. The manager stated that if it was his account, he would be upset as well. I informed him that this situation is similar to the XXXX XXXX situation where the bank opened up many accounts in their customers names without permission. I want to send a strong message that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. This has not been the first time to which I have made transactions, moving money from one account to the next or making a withdrawal. I was told because of my transactions and withdrawals that the account was changed to a checking account. I already have a checking account. I do not need another one. My bank is Capital One. The savings account is XXXX.

Problem with fees
Complaint: This is the worst company they find ways to make you late to charge fees and ruin your credit. I had XXXX but I contacted company and they assured me that they will work out a payment arrangement to avoid me from being late. They lied they then said I could establish a automatic pay out of my checking account to avoid late fees and late report. I want to close this account but don't want this bad history on my credit report. This is the only card that I have that are very misleading to their customers. I just don't want this visa card anymore because this is the worst credit card to have.

Complaint: A card was open in my name with capital one bank using my information without my knowledge. I reported it to capital one bank. They close the card ending in XXXX and open a card ending in XXXX.
I was out of the US for two years. The account was open while I was in XXXX ( XXXX ). I suspect my sister as I left her in my home to care for my daughter while I was away. But she denies it. I reported it to the police.
Please close all credit card accounts in my name as they are fraudulent accounts.

Complaint: I did a balance transfer from my CAP ONE account to my XXXX ion the amount of {$1700.00} in XX/XX/2018. There was an issue of some sort in payment processing which resulted in a supposed returned check payment on CapOne 's side, but XXXX does not believe that to be the case. So now I have a {$1700.00} balance on my CapONE card and my XXXX. I am paying CapOne {$1700.00} that I technically do not owe because this card should be at a XXXX balance. XXXX has escalated the issue on their end, but they are telling me they have had no luck with a response from CAPone. They have tried reaching out to CapOne via email, and through regular mail. CapOne has been no help whatsoever and this causing a great deal of stress now, because I take care of my credit.

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: I used my Capital One XXXX card to guarantee 2 hotel rooms for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX for the nights of XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/2018. The price for these rooms was XXXX euros.
However, my friend, who was in the room with the king sized bed, was to make payment for both rooms for both nights. In fact, I was standing at the desk when he told the clerk to use his card to make the payment for both rooms. He has since checked his credit card statement and he was charged for the two rooms for both nights. I sent proof of this to Capital One 's transaction dispute department in the form of the statement from my friend 's credit card. He was charged a total of XXXX euros because he had an additional XXXX euros worth of bar charges and for items from the mini fridge in his room.
I contacted Capital One on XX/XX/XXXX to let them know about this. Since my first contact with them I have been required to send proof FOUR TIMES that the rooms were already paid by my friend. Initially they credited my account for both nights advising me to keep all records on hand for 90 days until the hotel had a chance to respond.
I received notification from Capital One on XXXX XXXX stating that the hotel had sent proof verifying that the charges were correct. Mind you, this is outside of the 90 day window for the hotel to respond. The " proof '' they sent was a copy of my credit card receipt signed with my friend 's name. However ; it is not my signature nor that of my friend as he had already paid for the rooms with his XXXX XXXX. I sent Capital One copies of my signature and his to show that it was not either of our signatures on the receipt. Not to mention they received copies of his credit card statement four times prior showing that the rooms were paid.
If the charges were correct, then why is Capital One only making me pay for one of the nights for one of the rooms and not for all of the rooms for all of the nights? Why did they give me a statement credit for one night for one room, but are insisting I owe for the other room? I also asked for assistance in what to do about someone fraudulently signing my card and the case manager simply stated that the matter is closed as far as she is concerned.
I will close my account with Capital One and advise others not to use them. Why would I want any of their credit cards if they don't have my back when a merchant is attempting to steal from me?

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018, I applied for the Capital One Quicksilver credit card that included a 0 % introductory APR for all purchases in the first 15 months of opening the account offer. Shortly thereafter, I received a Capital One Quicksilver credit card in the mail. Upon receiving my second billing statement in XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed I was charged interest for my purchases. When contacting customer services at Capital One, I was advised that eventhough I applied for the credit card that included the 0 % introductory APR offer, I was actually approved for a different Capital One Quicksilver credit card that did not include the 0 % introductory APR offer.
I was never clearly advised that I was not receiving the credit card that I actually applied for, and since the credit card that I received had the identical name of " Capital One Quicksilver '', I was unaware that interest would be charged on my purchases. I feel this was false advertising and deceitful practices.

Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Complaint: I received an alert from XXXX XXXX that my credit score dropped by 47 points on my XXXX report. I had no major changes on my accounts ( even during the holidays ). After carefully examining, I realized that Capital one had reported me 30 days late. I called them and explained that I moved in XXXX and that I have NEVER had any issues prior to this. I admitted my mistake and requested for them to remove this information as a goodwill adjustment. They initially stated that they couldn't remove it. I asked to speak to a supervisor who initially told me the same thing, and explained that he never encountered this situation before. After twenty minutes on the phone, he suggested that I contact the credit bureau and dispute it. I questioned the validity of his information since the credit bureaus will only report what Capital one reports. The supervisor, XXXX suggested that I send the request to the credit dispute department which I did, but I did not receive any response or solution to my request. I have this account since XXXX of 2016 and I have NEVER been late. I had such a good payment track record with Capital one that I even have car financing from them.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: On XX/XX/19 I called Capitol One and made 3 payments to catch the account up-to-date per emails and regular mail I received.
XX/XX/19 {$120.00} XX/XX/19 {$120.00} XX/XX/19 {$120.00} The woman that I spoke to at Capital One repeated all the information and the dates and they were correct.
That evening I went to dinner and was unable to use my debit card and I was sure that I had enough money.
The next day I checked my account on the phone and {$120.00} was taken out by Capital One as of XX/XX/2019, which I did not authorized. This caused my account to be overdrawn, an overdraft fee of {$37.00} applied to my account and to have no money left that I had allocated for groceries and gas.
I called Capitol One and they were able to put money back into my account. But to call my bank and it was up to them how long it took for the money to be returned to the account. My bank said the way Capital Bank took the payment out, they could not control how fast the money would be returned to the account.
Finally the last person I spoke with gave me the fax number of the corporate department, but I was not allowed to talk to anybody in that department. I did sent a fax on XX/XX/19.
The bank 's customer service is horrendous. I have been calling back and forth and have spoken to several people : 1 woman cut me off, 1 woman left me on hold for over 15 minutes, 1 senior manager was condescending and threatening.
I fail to see how it could take Capital One only a few hours to get the money out of my account unauthorized, but it would like a week or more to have the money returned to me. It should be directly returned to my account.
