Complaint: This company has denied me a loan when I have a 700+ credit score, 0 % debt to income ratio and a {$10000.00} monthly income. I have paid multiple car loans and dont have any missed payments on my credit report. This company gives loans to clients who make less money, have more debt with a lower score. I feel as if I have been discriminated against because of my age and color. They dont want a XXXX year old XXXX man buying a brand new XXXX.

On XX/XX/XXXX I contracted with Wilshire Consumer Credit / Westlake Financial for an auto title loan. I have satified the standard amortized 36-month loan with 36 full payments but the company now tells me that I still owe {$790.00} after the last installment was paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX.
The following details come directly from the contract 's Federal Truth In Lending Act Disclosures page : Amt Financed : XXXX Finance Charge : XXXX Total of Payments : XXXX Interest Rate : 83.49 % Number of Payments : 36 Mo. Installment $ : XXXX Payments due starting : XX/XX/XXXX Again, I paid my last ( 36th of 36 ) payment of {$200.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. There is nothing on the contract disclosing any extraordinary fees, monetary amounts ( ie. balloon payments ) or conditions -- it's a standard amortized loan contract.
My loan has never been in default or ever had a 'balance due ' from a previous month. Over the account 's 3 years there were 3 small issues detailed below : I. Twice I've been late on a full installment payment by the due date but both monthly installments were paid in full before the next installment cycle -- never 30 days late. Never was a balance forwarded to the next month, and the two late payment fees of {$10.00} were paid before the next month 's due date. Every month my account has been " current ''.
II. In XX/XX/XXXX I requested an extension due to financial hardship. My extension was approved by Wilshire for the month of XX/XX/XXXX and my XX/XX/XXXX statement reflected the appropriate monthly installment of {$200.00} ( no past due, penalties ... ). This extended my loan 's maturity date one month from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX.
Again, my account has always been current and has never had a monthly balance forwarded to the following month.
I called Wilshire last week ( XX/XX/XXXX ) regarding this {$790.00} balance. The agent gave a few 'possible ' reasons for the remaining balance but I pointed out none of his 'possible ' explanations were accurate. He obviously was, or pretended, to be incompetent regarding amortized installments loans and the specifics of my account. I requested to speak with a supervisor to get an accurate and truthful reason for the remaining balance. I again explained that I've paid 36 full installments and have never been in default or more then 30 days late on a payment. The supervisor could only tell me that the statement showed the balance and that's what I owed.
I can't get any accurate information from Wilshire. Your help is appreciated.

Complaint: Took Car Loan from Wilshire Consumer Credit. XX/XX/XXXX. I was sometimes late but all loan payments made up to XX/XX/XXXX. Due the travel to abroad XXXX Check has been NSF.
Without any letter or call Car has been Seized on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX.
Received letter on XX/XX/XXXX but letter wrote on XX/XX/XXXX and Mailed on XX/XX/XXXX received on XX/XX/XXXX.
Try to spoke with them on XX/XX/XXXX and explain the letter date, mailing date and receiving date and request Seizure fee back and not received.

Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Complaint: I had a 44 month auto loan. My second acct with Westlake Financial Svcs in XXXX. My auto was repped 3 times. The 2nd time in around XX/XX/XXXX they reported again. I got a deferment in XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX and paid interest. My note was {$290.00} mo. And I paid {$400.00} XX/XX/XXXX bc of deferrals and my loan matures in 90 days. Had home repairs in XX/XX/XXXXso I skipped payment. They repossed on XX/XX/XXXX claiming I was two months behind. Thus, the beginning of this dispute.. Wanted me to pay {$1500.00} to get auto back. I spoke to XXXX XXXX at XXXX about the car. I initially thought it had been stolen. They advised that 1. Had NSF fees of {$100.00} and I paid with a bank card. I was told when repossessed 2nd time they didn't apply that fee although it was listed to recover auto and 2. They advised they had collected {$1000.00} more in interest than the loan said in the beginning and finally they wanted {$3000.00} to for car. I'm done will hatchet lender. Help!!!

Denied request to lower payments
Complaint: My husband and I purchased a XXXX XXXX financed through Westlake Financial 4 years ago in XXXX of XXXX. We had never missed one single payment and we were at the very tail end of our loan with only about 6-8 months worth of payments remaining until this vehicle is paid off. Unfortunately, my husband recently became severely ill with XXXX XXXX and has been out of work for the past few months. A month ago, we called Westlake Financial and explained the situation and asked if there was any way they could help us. My husband had finally recovered enough to be able to go back to work, but him being temporarily out of work for 3 months did a real number on our budget as we had to rely on my income and the small amount that he received from XXXX XXXX to pay our mortgage and other bills while he was so sick. The representative that I spoke with at Westlake informed me that they would allow us to defer the next 2 payments ( XXXX and XXXX ) because we had such an excellent payment history with them and have never missed a single payment in the entire 4 years we have had this vehicle. She read us the terms and conditions of the deferral and we gladly accepted. We were so grateful and relieved as this would give us a good bit of breathing room.
Fast forward to a little over a week ago on XX/XX/XXXX, when we woke up to find our XXXX missing from our driveway and was nowhere to be found. It had been repossessed. We were totally blown away and had no idea how this was even happening as we had received the 2 payment deferrals just last month, which made our loan current, with no payment due until the end of XXXX. I immediately got on the phone and called Westlake. The guy who I spoke with was INCREDIBLY rude, condescending, and downright unprofessional. He repeatedly cut me off while I was trying to speak and even told me to shut up at one point during the call. When I demanded to speak with a supervisor, he refused to transfer me. Come to find out, our payment deferral that we were told we were approved for a month ago had allegedly been " denied '' by a manager, even though we were told that it was all good to go and that our next payment would not be due until XX/XX/XXXX. We were never even informed that there was a possibility of it being denied by a manager! The exact words of the woman who set up the deferral were, " You're all set. Your next payment will be due on XX/XX/XXXX ''.
I demanded to know why our deferral had been denied after we had been told that it was approved and why no one had even bothered to contact us to let us know that it had been denied ( we received NO letters in the mail and NO phone calls informing us of this ... literally NO contact from them whatsoever ). I was then told told that they do not inform customers when deferrals are denied and that it is not their responsibility to do so. Um ... .EXCUSE ME?!?! Exactly HOW were we supposed to have known that the deferral was denied after we had been told a month ago that it was " all set '' and that we would not have to make a payment until XXXX?! And how in the world is it " not their responsibility '' to notify us that they are going back on their word and denying the deferral after we had already been told that it was approved?! I became extremely irate and the completely unprofessional representative from Westlake hung up on me. Thankfully, this was not our only vehicle, but we are still BEYOND furious that we have been lied to and royally screwed over and that our credit is now being destroyed because of this, ESPECIALLY after we have not missed a single payment the entire 4 years we have had this XXXX.
Apparently, from what I have read on many consumer reviews, these people are notorious for doing everything possible to try and repossess your vehicle when you get towards the end of your loan, just so they can auction it off to make even more money. I would like this very serious matter investigated as soon as possible.

Complaint: In the process of pulling up my credit report online, I became aware of a charge-off on my credit report " paid, charge-off ''. I was not aware of a balance owed on this account as I was not notified of any further information since XXXX. Upon contacting the company, I was told that they no longer hold the debt and it has been sold to another company, which they gave me the name and contact info. I contacted that company and was told that they have no record or account in my name and referred me to yet another company. Contacted that company and again same response. They also do not hold this debt. When I referred back to original creditor, I am being told that there is a notation on my account that there will be no further dealings with myself. They will not give me any further information on this account. I am unable to gather more information to rectify this matter and update my credit report. Again, I have not received any information on this account since XXXX and they will not supply any further information other than what is recorded on my credit report. They have listed this on my credit report in XXXX, four years later, and have no ability to offer any further information. I have hit a wall, at a standstill with no options at clearing up this matter. If this was in fact sold to another company, why are they not giving valid information. I do not believe the information as correct and can not pursue as company has noted in my account, " no further dealings with customer ''.
