Complaint: Due to my relocation from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX ( which saw a roughly 20 % increase in our cost of living ) and taking a pay cut ( as part of a longterm career strategy ), my wife and I are financially struggling. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX and she is a XXXX in the XXXX, so our incomes are based upon time-in, seniority, and rank, not performance or anything else. Although we have been making payments, we are robbing from our cashflow to make the payments : we are paying the credit card debt and having to spend it, again, to stay afloat. I attempted to negotiate with Wells Fargo ( regarding my credit card ) to lower my interest rate and mandatory minimum payments ( currently $ XXXX XXXX for a period of six to twelve months, so we can get our financial situation in order. They refused, unless I closed the card first : not only would they not promise that closing the card would result in the outcome I wanted, it is also an action that would have negative consequences ( for both credit score and reputationally ). Because of my occupation, I can not have a closed credit account upon which I am also making payments. Wells Fargo is obstructing my financial wellbeing, even as I attempt to negotiate in good faith. I have missed no payments, etc. and yet they remain steadfastly unwilling to work with me, even when it was escalated to their executive-level customer service. This is unacceptable.

Complaint: I have been with Wells Fargo for 5 years. The last 2 years my debit card has had to be replaced 5 times. I have had my card information stolen or sold and had around 12 charges on XXXX. XXXX linked my card to at least 9 accounts none of which were mine. After speaking to the bank the following day an additional 4 charges were presented to my account. While the issue was finally fixed it was very frustrating and resulted in my card being canceled and having no access to my funds immediately. Shortly after XXXX began charging my account unauthorized. The bank did am investigation refunded my money and replaced my card again. But this happened at least 4 more times over just under a year. The bank told me that Visa was responsible because they kept giving XXXX my new card number. It has been extremely frustrating. With everything going on with Wells Fargo I can't possibly be the only person that has suffered through this. When you card is canceled you can go to the bank and get a replacement card however if your funds aren't there because of a fraudulent charge what can you do. While looking into Wells Fargo please look into these issues as well. I don't have all of the date right now because it was ongoing and there are so many it will take some time to research. But they do need to get into trouble. I have been charged service fees while I didn't have my card because they canceled it do to fraudulent charges. They don't care. And it's really frustrating.

Problem with balance transfer
Complaint: In XXXX, I applied for an credit card with Wells Fargo Bank. The account was to be used for a balance transfer. The amount of the transfer I requested was XXXX. I was given a credit limit of XXXX dollars. I requested that this transaction go to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I provided Wells Fargo with my Card number. After waiting approximately three weeks I noticed that the new Wells Fargo account showed the XXXX dollars on my statement, but I did not see any credit for that amount on the XXXX XXXX account. I spoke with Wells Fargo customer service and found that they had transferred the money to the wrong account. It seems that there was an error in the last digit of the account number. XXXX XXXX stated that the number they used was non existent. Wells Fargo does not want to take responsibility for this error even though they were the ones who did the transfer. I have been trying to get this resolved since XXXX to no avail. I am currently paying both financial institutions. I want Wells Fargo to credit my account. This is putting me in a real bind. I am a senior with very limited income. I am hoping you can help me with this issue as I am getting nowhere and I have been making double payments. Complaint: Wells Fargo continues to send threatening letters re : homeowner 's insurance. I recently changed insurance carriers ; I sent WF copies of my new declarations pages to show valid/current homeowner 's insurance. WF didn't acknowledge receipt of my new policy and started contacting me, requesting proof of insurance. I FAX 'd proof, again, on XXXX. I received acknowledgement from WF on XXXX via their secure messaging center. I have a FAX receipt showing when the info was transmitted/received. On XX/XX/2019, I received a threatening letter ; " Second and final notice '' to provide proof of insurance or they will purchase insurance and charge me. Their letter goes on to say that the policy will be expensive and may not cover much. Given WF 's recent history with opening accounts, without the customer 's knowledge, and then charging them outrageous overdraft and other fees, I fear they will purchase a policy and withdraw premiums from my checking account.
