Complaint: My car lease was with Volkswagen. The lease loan was with Volkswagen credit. My car lease ended in XX/XX/XXXX and all payment due have been paid with my account in Volkswagen Credit fully closed on XX/XX/XXXX. After one year, they still send me bill saying I own them property tax for the full year of XX/XX/XXXX. I called them 3 months ago, explaining that this must be wrong. The agent realized they made a mistake and I might only owe the piece between XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, which was the period I still had the car. They promised me to correct it and will contact me once it's clear. Now 3 months later they still keep sending me the same bill and now, with a notice from their collection department!!! I'm very worried they will abuse my credit report. If I did not pay attention to such bill I might have paid the excessive charge they recklessly put on me. I feel very angry as an individual consumer I need to worry about and deal with such excessive charge, and even after I made my effort trying to correct them, which they accepted and promised would correct, they still keep doing that! I need someone to investigate their statement system and correct the bug which might already have hurt many customers if they simply accept and pay it!

Complaint: I made my lease payment at the end of XX/XX/XXXX. I believe it was made out of the wrong account. Furthermore, the account that it was pulled out of was not attempted to be pulled out from for 12 days. 35 some days after payment was due, I get a call asking for payment. I am shocked. I thought that the pullout was not even for last month but for this monthly payment because it was close to XX/XX/XXXX, which I was actually angry about. I thought it had been made earlier than it was supposed to be. After rep called, I found out the truth and immediately made payment, dated that day for XX/XX/XXXX. Customer service representative waives late fee and apologizes and makes no mention of how they destroyed my credit.

Complaint: I recently purchased a XXXX XXXX financed with VW Credit. I wanted to let you know what a horrible experience I have had. I will try to keep it very simple : 1 ) I scheduled an online payment from my credit union checking account for my first payment. I used my full account number including the suffix of 10, which indicates a checking account. This payment didn't go through, but I didn't receive notice until XXXX at which time, two payments were due.
2 ) I corrected the account number and tried again, this time to cover both payments. At first, my online account said the transaction was pending and then it just disappeared from the VW Credit web page. I had to call customer service to find that It failed. Mind you, I make online payments to at least four other financial institutions using this same account number.
3 ) Next, I used a totally different checking account number. Same results. On my account web page, it said transaction pending, and then it just disappeared. I called customer service and was told it failed.
4 ) On XX/XX/XXXX, I Express Mailed a check for the XXXX & XXXX payment that VW credit received XX/XX/XXXX. My VW Credit account was credited and the check for XXXX ( payment for XXXX and XXXX ) cleared on XX/XX/XXXX. Interesting that the check, which has the exact same routing and account numbers on it that I used in step 2 above, was deposited and cleared in one day!
5 ) I happened to check the account I used for payment in step 3, and what a surprise to see that on XX/XX/XXXX my checking account was debited by VW credit for XXXX ( 2 payments including late fee ). This payment does not show up in my online VW Credit account a week later! Ive now paid a total of XXXX but my account only shows the XXXX payment.
6 ) Yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX, I uploaded a document proving that the online payment was debited from my checking account. XXXX, the rep I spoke with, promised he would get a supervisor to review it right away and call me right back. A day later, and Ive heard nothing.
7 ) Today, XX/XX/XXXX I submitted two ( not one, but two ) secure messages from my VW Credit online account. Usually, I immediately get an automated email saying the message was received and it shows up in my message box. Today, neither happened.
8 ) Today XX/XX/XXXX I called customer service and was told that the finance department was investigating. They accepted my proof that the money was taken from my account, but they were trying to find it. As soon as they found it, my account would be credited.
9 ) Today XX/XX/XXXX, my account has still not been credited even though VW credit and my bank confirm the money has been taken out of my account.
What is not detailed in the info above is that : I have called a number of times over the last XXXXhree weeks and have spoken with multiple VW Credit customer service reps. I have sent three emails describing the problems all along and have uploaded proof that the online payment was debited from my account. They did nothing to figure out why my online payments to my checking accounts were not working. They still have not remedied the matter and credited my account for the payment XXXX. Obviously, there is something wrong with your website and you accounting system. In addition, from the responses I received from my email exchanges, it is obvious that the persons who responded didnt even fully read ( or understand ) my message.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted via telephone by XXXX XXXX, Lease Retention Manager/Client Loyalty from XXXX XXXX located at, XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, CA XXXX. XXXX XXXX detailed a special offer for a " Loyalty Programme '' being offered by XXXX. The offer was followed up with an email confirming my VIN number qualified and asked me to come into the dealership to see my options on a new XXXX.
XX/XX/XXXX I stopped by to hear more about the offer and to have my XXXX XXXX inspected. The offer to trade in my XXXX XXXX, as is, for a XXXX model was confirmed. I returned to the dealership Saturday XX/XX/XXXX to select a new vehicle for lease and return my XXXX model which was once again inspected by XXXX and confirmed the vehicle qualified for the Loyalty Programme, no additional fees were due. The transaction was completed that day. I requested something in writing stating the transaction was complete and no payment due other than my down payment for the new vehicle of $ XXXX.
Early XX/XX/XXXX I received a invoice from XXXX XXXX XXXX titled " Turn-In Settlement Invoice '' $ XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX via email however as of today, no reply. I then filed a complaint with the XXXX. XXXX XXXX, General Manager of XXXX XXXX responded with a basic form letter. His excuse was/is not acceptable therefore my complaint with XXXX is unresolved. XXXX XXXX later contacted me via telephone and left a message stating he would like to clear up this misunderstanding. I replied via SMS as I wanted any correspondence in writing. He replied suggesting this was a misunderstanding on my part. No further correspondence with XXXX XXXX sense XX/XX/XXXX when XXXX XXXX told me I misunderstood the invoice of $ XXXX. Complaint: VW Credit does not have a valid enforceable contract. I timely reported the vehicle to be turned in when I was no longer able to pay the loan. Any monies, if they were ever received from the auction of the vehicle should have been applied towards the balance of the loan. I have no knowledge of auction or any results from my many letters and disputes. I disputed the debt many times and requested validation. I also requested the item be removed from my credit due to failure to properly validate. XXXX failed to conduct a proper and thorough investigation that I am entitled to and failed to review all the relevant documentation provided already in their possession thoroughly enough thus violating their duty under 15 U.S.C. 168ls-2 ( b ) ( l ) ( A ) through 15 U.S.C. 168ls-2 ( b ) ( l ) ( E ). 39. With the failure to request removal of the VW Credit trade line stating "repossession", my credit score, a benchmark for near all facets of life in today 's society, was artificially deflated. Complaint: I sent in a payment for 50 % of my outstanding balance ( {$9300.00} ) in XX/XX/XXXXof XX/XX/XXXX because I noticed that my credit score with XXXX had gone down significantly, and the reason given was slow reduction in my loan balances ( I had just taken the loan out when I bought the car used, with 50 % cash down, in XX/XX/XXXX, and only had a 36 month payment plan ). But I know that, while the CFPB has decided not to investigate XX/XX/XXXX, they and the other credit bureaus are like the XX/XX/XXXX. So I addressed the issue by sending Volkswagen Credit USA a check for {$9300.00}.
What VW Credit did was to slowly apply this against my future payments for the next 15 months, rather than applying it to my balance without ever asking me what I prefer. Now, I concede that I could have noticed that I was not getting autopay withdrawals anymore. But frankly, I scan my accounts for things that should NOT be there, not things that SHOULD be there.
I think that given the way almost any other loan I have experienced in my life, it would be a very reasonable assumption that the check I send would be applied against my balance. It was not, although the funds were removed immediately from my account. Thus, VW Credit US had full us of my funds for a year, while I did not AND continued to charge me 5.24 % interest for the privilege of them holding my cash.
I have spoken to a supervisor there, and the " best '' they can do is to apply a {$50.00} credit towards my account ( I had to specifically ask them to apply it to my principle. They were unable to do more because they " did not make an error. I could have told them how I wanted it applied ''. My calculations show that this has cost me approximately {$340.00} in interest over charges.

For my surprise until now XX/XX/XXXX VW didnt fix it the wrong report information on my account with credit bureaus. The credit report shows that a lot numbers of monthly payments it was paid late some of them shows more than 90 days late. I never paid any payment late. I called VW several times and CS apologized and said they will fix it but never did it. This wrong report still placed in my credit and still affecting my financial life.

I am very worried about the lack of oversight in the account that can potentially damage my credit report. Two missing payments for a new car lease it will show very quickly in all three credit agencies as well as to lower my credit scores and increase interest rates on future loans.

Complaint: I sent two money orders to XXXX XXXX. The first money order was for {$250.00} and the second was for {$490.00}. I inadvertently made one of the money orders payable to myself ( {$490.00} XXXX. As soon as I caught the mistake I contacted XXXX regarding the issue. It was at that time they informed they use robots in their payment centers to process checks. I was informed my check would either be cashed, sent back or destroyed by the robot. The check was processed. XXXX contacted the Federal Reserves to have the funds reversed but it will not be be sent back to me. I was told the funds would return to XXXX XXXX XXXX money order ). Complaint: Volkswagen Credit 's website avoids telling consumers what their actual balance is. The account details page has nothing about balance, the payoff quote page does n't give payoff quotes, just asks for bank account numbers. Nowhere on the site does it have anything about balance. There is a corner where you can download pdf files for offline viewing which so helpfully have PAST statements about two months old, though these focus entirely on the billing aspect, deemphasizing the remaining balance.
However, since I 've made a couple large payments recently, it goes so far as discouraging further payments until two years from now. It suggests I do n't make another payment until 2019 XXXX, and makes a huge deal about how " nothing is due '', and " no payments necessary ''.
In short, they want consumers to be uninformed about what they owe and let their balances sit and accrue interest.

Complaint: I have had repeated problems with Volkswagen processing my state registration and XXXX personal property tax payments. In the past, I have submitted a complaint to the CFPB about Volkswagen 's unfair practices with respect to collecting and remitting personal property tax payments.
I moved to XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I registered my leased VW in XXXX effective XX/XX/XXXX. VW charged me around {$50.00} to process my title paperwork. They did not disclose these fees to me. They simply tacked them on to my next month 's statement. Given that they charged me to process my paperwork, they should know that my car is registered in XXXX.
Despite the fact that my car was registered in Pennsylvania, VW paid my XXXXXXXX XXXX personal property tax through XX/XX/XXXX. This means they overpaid my property tax by over 6 months. I was charged an additional {$530.00} on my XX/XX/XXXX statement for the Property/Excise tax. Because I am registered in auto-payments, this amount ( in addition ) to my monthly payment was sucked out of my account on my normal payment date. VW should have realized based on processing my title work that my car was not garaged in XXXX or registered in XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. As a result, I was overbilled by roughly {$300.00}.
When I contacted VW, their customer service agent confirmed that my personal property tax was paid through XX/XX/XXXX. When I told her that I no longer lived in XXXX and had not for over half the year, she told me that I had to submit a registration card to prove that I no longer lived in XXXX. It is UNFAIR and DECEPTIVE for VW to charge me me when they knew I did not live in XXXX Additionally, it 's UNFAIR that as a consumer that I need to proactively contact VW to tell them that they overbilled me. They should have contacted me and told me to submit a proof of registration if they needed one prior to processing my personal property tax payment. It 's DECEPTIVE because they do n't tell you how to recover your money after they overcharge you until contact them.

Complaint: I signed for my niece to lease a vehicle, and she was making the payments timely. She filed a legal restraining order against her child 's father and had to relocate within 30 days ( I can provide copies of all legal paperwork ). She fell behind on a payment and I was not aware. As soon as I heard about this ( through my credit reporting agency ) I contacted XXXX and brought the account current immediately. I received a significant credit hit as a result of this report.
