Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX VW of XXXX XXXX, CA. When I was discussing financing options with the Finance Manager XXXX XXXX XXXX, he described a pre-paid VW maintenance plan that was available that would cover my scheduled maintenance on my vehicle. He indicated that if I purchased it now at a price of {$1000.00}, I will be covered for my XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX miles scheduled maintenance with no additional out of pocket cost at time of service. He provided me estimates of each scheduled service and after crunching the numbers, the deal made sense and I agreed to the maintenance plan of {$1000.00} that was included in the financing of my vehicle. In XXXX XXXX ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX or XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I believe ), I contacted VW Financial Services to ensure I fully understood my pre-paid maintenance plan and what it covered. I asked the representative if my plan covered XXXX mile service and she confirmed that it indeed did cover those maintenance services. This put me at ease knowing that XXXX at XXXX and the VW Representative confirmed the same thing. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I brought my vehicle in for my XXXX service to XXXX VW of XXXX, CA. When I notified the service center what I needed done on my vehicle, I was told that I would have to pay out of pocket for my XXXX service of approximately {$300.00}. They indicated that whoever processed my prepaid maintenance plan at time of vehicle purchase only signed me up for the XXXX and XXXX mile service, and not the XXXX and XXXX mile service. They stated that there are XXXX plans that can be purchased, which is the VW Care package that covers the XXXX and XXXX mile service and the VW Care Plus package that covered the XXXX and XXXX mile service. XXXX at XXXX apparently only signed me up for the VW Care Plus package even though he had confirmed I would be covered from XXXX miles at a financed cost of {$1000.00}. I spoke to the Service Manager at XXXX and he re-confirmed what I was signed up for and advised that he could not do anything further as that it what was shown in their system. I notified him that I should be covered for XXXX as I did not pay for the XXXX mile service performed at XXXX several months ago. They said that after looking at their records, they saw that the Service Technician apparently processed it incorrectly and when they submitted the reimbursement to VW, they were denied it and they had to 'eat ' the cost for my XXXX mile service. Since I needed the service and did n't have the time to dispute with XXXX or VW at the time, I agreed to pay for the XXXX mile service out of pocket for a total of {$310.00}. It appears that I was misled by not only XXXX, but also VW as I specifically called asking the question about coverage and they confirmed that I was indeed covered for the XXXX mile services. Note that I have also filed a complaint for VW XXXX ( Case # XXXX ).

Complaint: Volkswagen credit sent me a {$0.00} balance statement from my payoff of my lease XX/XX/XXXX. In that statement in shows that all Residual Value, Fees, Taxes, Scheduled Payments, Rent Charges are included and they gave me a payoff amount of {$26000.00}. I remitted that amount and they sent me my title. XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX VW Credit started sending letters asking for an additional {$540.00} for property tax that they say they paid XXXX. I provided the documentation of the final billing statement and the title that was issued and asked for some documentation of the property taxes. I especially pointed out that if they are claiming that the property taxes were paid XX/XX/XXXX, they certainly should have been on the statement that I received on XX/XX/XXXX or shown as possible charges on that statement. VW Credit has refused to provide any documentation showing an error whereby they did n't include the taxes, nor have they provided any documentation that they actually paid the tax. When I go to the City of XXXX to see the documents I ca n't get access to everything because I was n't the owner of the car when that bill was allegedly paid. So, I have nothing to go on. Further, when I have shared this with VW Credit, they have twice threatened to send me to a collections agency if I do n't pay their demand for {$540.00} - even though they refuse now to provide any documentation of the bill. I feel I am being harassed and threatened and according to XXXX at VW Credit ( ext. XXXX ) there are a bunch of consumers who are being harassed in the same way without documentation of taxes paid.

Complaint: I leased a car with VW. I never missed a payment and was never late. At the end of the lease I turned the car in in perfect condition and had XXXX balance remaining. I followed all terms of the agreement. VW put on my credit report that the account was closed due to bankruptcy and in default. I do n't know why they refused to remove there error or fraud but it is hurting my credit. VW is knowingly placing incorrect information on my credit and refuses to correct with the intention to harm my credit. VW refuses to explain or send any information. Having this fraud on my credit is going to cause me to pay higher interest on the new home I am buying. Once my loan is complete I plan on pursuing this in court for Financial damages they are causing and violations of my credit rights.

Complaint: I see that XXXX is reporting me late on an account I had with VW Credit. This is incorrect as the account was included in our bankruptcy which was discharged XX/XX/XXXX. Payments were made by me to the bankruptcy administrator and we were sent the clear title from VW XX/XX/XXXX. I would like for XXXX XXXX to correct this error so my credit report will reflect a better score which I have earned. My score with them currently is XXXX as opposed to Equifax which is reporting a XXXX score currentl

Complaint: I am a XXXX year old student who took out a car loan in XXXX from Volkswagen. Today I Went to my local credit union to refinance my car loan and they said that the income I have which is student loans does not count as income and that Volkswagen Credit should not have issued me the loan. When I got the loan from them I explained clearly that my money was from student loans and I was unemployed and now thinking about it I remember them asking me to fill the form as my XXXX as my employer they said to do that since my financial aid was the money I was living on with the purpose to refinance after several months to get a better rate once I proved more of my credit worthiness. But now I am stuck with the interest they gave me and I am unable to refinance at a lower interest rate because they did they do n't do refinancing because they are not a bank. So I feel misled and misguided when they said to put my financial aid as income since now I have to stick with them and their interest rate. I feel like they lied to me and they lied to the loan people since financial aid ca n't be counted as income.

Complaint: I Purchased a NEW XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with a sunroof and Navigation. Not only do I have the recall for the XXXX XXXX XXXX with no remedy on my car I have XXXX other life threatening recalls with no remedy. When the other recalls were brought to our attention, I knew I was driving an unsafe car that may kill my family. Volkswagen has admitted to circumventing the emissions control system in the United States since XXXX. With their deceptive and fraudulent business practices Volkswagen knowingly sold me a car that was equipped with the illegal defected devices and locked me into a contract under false pretenses. They also deceptively sold me my New XXXX XXXX XXXX With Navigation and XXXX that I used for a down payment on the New XXXX XXXX. The XXXX XXXX also was affected by the recall for the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I put {$15000.00} down on the XXXX. In addition, Volkswagen carried out a cynical fraud on car-buying, by aggressively marketing the non-compliant diesel engines as the product of environmentally-friendly XXXX advanced technology, " XXXX XXXX ''. Volkswagen has admitted that they knew about the XXXX issue before I even bought my car. They have deceived my family and have put us all in danger with no remedy. I have contacted the Volkswagen Court Settlement hot line, Volkswagen Credit , & Volkswagen Customer Care. When calling no one was able to give me any kind of answer. Had no idea how what or when will anything ever be done for any of the recalls. The Volkswagen Court Settlement hot line was quick to tell me about the loan forgiveness program they have in place. When I asked them if it were a true " loan forgiveness '' why am I paying off the loan? VW gets my car, all the money I put into both my cars and a clear and free title & then I have nothing. Not one person knew what to say.

Complaint: I bought a new VW car through VW Credit in XXXX. The contract allowed extra monies paid over the payment amount to be applied toward the principle. VW Credit changed the contract without notifying me and began to apply the extra monies paid over the payment amount toward future payments instead of toward the principle, allowing them to continue to accrue interest even though more money was paid down. I only learned of this after not receiving a monthly bill. I phoned on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to inform VW of the missing bill, which is when the representative informed me of the change in policy. The representative informed me that the only way to have the excess money applied toward the principle from now on was to phone VW Credit each and every time a payment is made and inform them to apply that month 's excess amount toward principle. The average wait time to talk with a representative has been twenty minutes in my experience, plus the actual phone conversation time. With this representative, I requested that the two payments I made have the excess money applied toward the principle, as per the " new '' VW policy, and requested that he make a complaint about their new policy on my behalf. The representative said he would. I checked my account on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and found that no adjustment to the principle was made and that it shows my next payment due in XXXX of XXXX, which means that VW Credit is still applying all extra monies toward future payments, against all my wishes, and still charging me interest on the full loan amount. I sent in a written complaint to VW Credit through their website about these deceptive practices. So far I have gotten no response, nor have I received any written notification of any policy or contract change. First VW cheats on its environmental requirements with its TDI diesels, now it cheats on its financial dealings with customers. This is a breach of contract, and VW Credit should not be allowed this offense.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I decided to go to VW to see about purchasing a car. They had specials going on, the year end " Sign and Drive ''. It appealed to me because I did n't have to put any money down. I wanted a new car. I never had a new car before. I figured that leasing a car would be better for me at the time. In three years I could trade it in for a new one, or keep it. Which was better than keeping a car for 5 years to pay it off. Either way they ran my credit and I was approved. I paid for more mileage just in case I went over. I lived close to work, but traveled occasionally to see family. The car was great. I enjoyed it. I made my payments on time until the last year. I changed banks and setup auto pay. Some how I was always 30 days behind for a few months. I never received anything in the mail regarding this. I am not sure I missed a payment and that continued to trickle down over the months. It made my credit look bad. This was in XX/XX/XXXX. My lease was almost up. In XXXX XXXX I had some mechanical failures ( electrical box ) that had to be replaced. That was {$500.00} out of pocket that was not warrantied for some reason. After spending time with the vehicle and knowing how much was owed, I decided it would have been best to just purchase it at the end of lease. Then I find out I CAN NOT DO THAT because of my CREDIT. When I leased the vehicle my score was a XXXX. Now it was a XXXX. NEVER did I see anything stating I could not get my loan changed from lease to purchase through VW Credit. My credit changed. I was paying for the vehicle. Now I have derogatory remarks on my credit and I owe VW Credit a {$9000.00} overage for using the vehicle. To purchase the vehicle it was {$12000.00}. I went over my miles because I had planned on keeping the car. I feel like I have been scammed out of a car. Why? Because I leased it through VW Credit. When leasing the vehicle all it said was if you chose to keep your vehicle just pay {$1.00} to change from lease to purchase. VW Credit could not finance me due to my credit score. I could not get financed anywhere else. I tried. Medical issues and Family issues kept me from getting financing. I had to return the vehicle, only for VW Credit to charge me with {$9000.00} of overage. I would have rather kept the vehicle. The buy price was {$12000.00} at the end of my lease. For {$3000.00} more and I could have bought the car. VW Credit later sold the car for {$15000.00}. They made and extra {$3000.00} more off of my vehicle by selling it to someone else. By adding my {$9000.00} mileage overage it would bring $ XXXX+ {$9000.00} the total of {$24000.00} for a brand new purchase price of {$32000.00} for a vehicle that was 3 years old with XXXX miles. I do not feel that is right. I feel like I was setup and scammed. VW Credit needs to specify up front that at the end of your lease you have to find another lender for financing. Credit may prevent you from owning your vehicle if even if you planned on keeping it. I was never told this. Otherwise, I would have purchased up front when I could have done so. I also tried to convert over to a purchase 30 days into my lease, they said I would have to wait until the lease was over.

Debt collection: Auto

Talked to a third party about my debt
Complaint: I had an auto loan with VW Credit for our XXXX XXXX mini-van. At the conclusion of that loan I deliberately refused payment on the final XXXX of XXXX payments ( {$840.00} ) of my auto loan because VW would not repair an ignition recall as they could not provide an adequate engineered part. I paid for this repair out of my pocket and sought civil suit against VW for repayment which we settled in XXXX of XXXX. While I was attempting to get our ignition repaired I refused to pay the XXXX ( {$840.00} ) of XXXX payments to VW Credit until I was reimbursed for the recall which I paid out-of-pocket. Since I refused to pay, VW Credit sent harassing letters and phone calls insisting I repay the final debt. I was very clear of my reason not to pay the debt was because VW refused to reimburse my out-of-pocket expense for the failed recalled part. VW Credit began calling several of my neighbors on our street advising who they were and that they were attempting to contact me regarding an unpaid debt. VW Credit calls to my neighbors is a practice known in the collection trade as block parties and is intended to create public shame on the consumer, but in reality is legally slanderous and is deemed an unfair practice in violation of the FTC 's Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 804 Acquisition of location information ; 805 Communication in connection with debt collection ). I contacted my Missouri XXXX regarding this violation of the FTC Fair Deb Collection Practices Act to which VW Credit responded AND ADMITTED to this illegal block party practice in an XXXX XXXX, XXXX memo. I have a copy of VW Credit 's ( XXXX XXXX 's ) XXXX/XXXX/XXXX response to our Missouri XXXX. VW Credit said in the memo, " VW Credit stopped these practices in XXXX XXXX, we updated our procedures so that we no longer contact neighbors in an attempt to locate a customer ''. Unfortunately our Missouri Attorney General continues to investigate my complaint and has taken an unnecessary amount of time since VW Credit in their XXXX XXXX, XXXX memo clearly admitted to the illegal practice.
