Complaint: My VW Credit auto loan for my XXXX was paid in full as part of the VW diesel scandal buyback program. My car was turned into a dealership on XXXX XXXX. I was told to expect a refund in the amount of approximately {$450.00} XXXX ( the difference between the amount of the buyback and what I owed on the loan ). After not receiving the refund, I contacted VW on approximately XXXX. I learned the amount I would be refunded changed to approximately ~ {$200.00}. I questioned the amount, and was told by the agent that VW actually owed me a few dollars more than the initial check was written for. The agent told me a check for the additional amount would be issued. She also offered to reissue a check for the amount of the missing check, or I could wait a few more days. I opted to wait a few more days. At that time I informed VW that I had recently moved and provided my new address. Still having not received my refund, I called VW today XXXX. I spoke with XXXX different agents. All who told me I was owed different amounts ... ~ {$450.00}, XXXX {$400.00}, XXXX {$200.00} AND that they can not reissue the check because I have to wait 30 days. I 'm frustrated because they supposedly sent a check for the incorrect amount and I have to wait longer for them to reissue a check for the correct amount. I have no idea how long it will take to receive the new check once they reissue it because I ca n't seem to get a straight, consistent answer from VW. Given their reputation of taking advantage of consumers, I believe they should be working to improve their reputation not give us more of a run around. I wasted ~90 minutes of my time today attempting to get the money that is owed to me, or at least a consistent answer about the amount owed to me.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I leased a XX/XX/XXXX diesel Volkswagen from XXXX Volkswagen dealership in XXXX, New Jersey. I chose the car because it was advertised as " clean diesel '' which turned out to be lie. In XX/XX/XXXX, the court approved Volkswagen terms to compensate the owners as well as those who are leasing. I decided to end my lease as per the agreement approved by the court. The car was returned to XXXX Volkswagen dealership on XX/XX/XXXX. My last payment was made on XX/XX/XXXX, which was for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. I also received a check from Volkswagen as per the court agreement to compensate early termination lessee. To my surprise, I continued to receive payment statement from Volkswagen. I reached out to them on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to XXXX who then transferred me to a representative by the name of XXXX. I informed both of them that my transaction was completed and gave provided the claim number that shows that I returned the car. On XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to the company again because I received a notice that threatened to report the late payment to credit bureaus. I explained to them this must be a joke because I made all necessary payments and the car was returned to them. The representative and the manager whose name is XXXX said they were going to look into it. Once again, I continued to receive payment statements and Notice of Default and right to Cure New Jersey. This is bullying tactics by a company who is attempting to victimize and defraud me twice. They are attempting to ruin my credit because I chose an early lease termination.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I went to a VW Dealership and leased XXXX vehicles. This was a week before the Public announcement of VW Diesel Vehicles having an emission problem. As a " Lessee '' of XXXX affected diesel vehicles I was quite concerned. My concern was that I would never get money back when I turned these cars at the end of the lease. XXXX XXXX I received a " Goodwill '' offer, as did the rest of America to which left me even more concerned. All the while making my payments on time never being late. I reside in the State of Texas and did extensive research on the Lemon Law. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I sent a certified letter to VW requesting termination of both leased vehicles due to all the problems.I received a letter back from VW stating they would not assist me so I then went ahead & filed a Lemon Law complaint. I received an immediate response and was planning on preceding that route. XXXX XXXX VW announced their intentions of some sort of settlement. I withdrew my complaint with the State of Texas and anxiously waited on how to proceed with my claim. I submitted in XXXX thru the online portal all of my documents and received confirmation of my submission. Few days later I checked the portal and it showed my claim missing. Plus there had been several media outlets stating owners of the affected vehicles did not need to make a monthly payment due to the car being payoff. I also confirmed reports on the FTC website. I thought the best answer would be from an actual VW employee. So I called the XXXX number and waited over 45 minutes. I finally got someone on the phone and I explained to her what I read and heard from Media outlets. The Volkswagen Representative informed me I was CORRECT and I did not need to make a payment. The vehicle would be paid in full at the time it was returned. Unfortunately I was informed incorrectly because VW is now reflecting on my Credit report that I was 90 days late on the XXXX and I am 150 days on the XXXX. I had a PERFECT payment history with Volkswagen Credit. Never was I late! Now I go from having XXXX credit scores to XXXX credit score. Furthermore when I went to speak to the General Manager at the dealership back in XXXX when I originally discovered how my credit looked, I explained to him the situation and was visibly upset. He told me that Volkswagen was loosing so many clients he had heard that the XXXX number was giving incorrect answers to customers so that the customer would have to keep the affected vehicle. Then he started pressuring me to buy another VW. Volkswagen 's actions are completely egregious and reckless. I am asking for your assistance with the following ; I would like for my credit cleared up so that I can purchase another vehicle & not to be forced to purchase another Volkswagen. Plus I want Volkswagen to be held accountable by filing a formal complaint. If you read on the FTC website I am not the only customer out there that has had problems with this company. When is enough enough?

Consumer Loan: Vehicle loan

Complaint: We financed a XXXX Volkswagen XXXX which became part of the VW Diesel scandal. We opted to return the vehicle and receive the compensation that was offered. As part of the terms of settlement, our loan was to be paid off directly with the remainder of settlement funds paid directly to us. We turned in our vehicle on XX/XX/2017, and within 3 days ( as per the settlement terms ) received a direct deposit of the funds owed us beyond the financed amount. We were informed that the loan would be paid off AS OF THE XX/XX/XXXX, the date we turned in the vehicle. We were also informed that overpayment would be sent to us directly from VW Credit. In early XX/XX/XXXX, we received a letter from VW Credit indicating a payoff date of XX/XX/XXXX. It is now XX/XX/XXXX, and we have yet to receive our check for overpayment. We had sent correspondence directly to VW Credit and informed that it could take several more weeks to receive our overpayment. Clearly, if we were several weeks overdue in making a loan payment, we would be subject to interest and late fees. The delay in receiving the refund of overpayment seems unreasonable. VW Credit has had our funds ( and those of thousands of other settlement participants ) and has benefitted from the delay in refunding overpayment to us. Our demand is as follows : 1. Payoff date to be modified to reflect a XX/XX/2017 payoff - the same date that we turned in the vehicle and no longer had use for it. 2. Immediate payment of our reimbursement to include interest and late fees ( as would be calculated by VW Credit if our payment was late ) back dated to XX/XX/2017. 3. An investigation into the delay and whether in the aggregate the withholding of prompt payment and failure to use the settlement date as date of loan payoff has inured to the benefit of VW Credit and against consumers.

Complaint: I sold my car back to VW as part of the diesel settlement. The car was financed with VW Credit and when I sold the car back on XX/XX/XXXX, they only gave me credit for the payoff amount as of XX/XX/XXXX, when the buyback was approved. I was told VW Credit would refund the difference to me once paid off. VW Credit is delaying sending me back the over payoff of the loan. They first are saying they did not get the funds from VW corporate to XX/XX/XXXX, 14 days after car was sold back to them. They are now stating they need 17 days to allow their internal transfer to " clear ''. They are stating even after the transfer " clears '', they will take 2-5 days to issue a check and another 7-10 days to mail the check to me.

Complaint: leased a XXXX VW jetta and several months later was victim of Hurricane XXXX and made to evacuate my home located XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. My spouse and I traveled to XXXX and made a total of six tries to return to our townhouse to view damages, we were not allowed. I informed VW at sometime during the chaos of our dilemma and was informed that the company was aware of the disaster and not to worry just take care of myself and family. It was brought to my attention my VW in XXXX that the lease was ending and that there would be additional costs reverberating to the end of the lease I informed VW that I could not afford further monies due to a XXXX in XXXX that prevented me from working. We agreed that to return the car to VW would be in both our " best '' interest and thus with a " heavy '' heart I returned the vehicle in XXXX of XXXX. I recieved a letter dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( Over three years later ) stating that I owed {$10.00}, XXXX. I called and was informed that this was due to mileage, wear and tear on the vehicle. I informed her about the conversation that transpired in XXXX during Hurricane XXXX evacuation as well as the lease was a " four-year '' term and it concurred " normal '' wear and tear! The agent sent me to XXXX other people because there were absolutely " no '' records besides " payment arrangements '' on my records! It is ludicrous to charge me such an " outrageous '' amount sent to XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$19000.00} ( high balance ) that is " double '' the price of the vehicle. VW received ( in payment ) an approximate amount of {$18000.00} throughout the lease. I do not believe that I should be listed in the credit bureau for a charge off of {$12000.00}!

Complaint: I have a vehicle loan through Volkswagen Credit for a XXXX XXXX SportWagen. This vehicle was included in the VW XXXX Liter diesel settlement agreement, and I entered into an agreement with VW XXXX XXXX to buy back my vehicle under that settlement. The amount of cash I was entitled to receive in that settlement included payoff of the remainder of my vehicle loan balance with VW Credit as the balance stood at the time VW XXXX XXXX confirmed my outstanding loan balance which was sometime in either late XXXX or early XXXX XXXX. However, I was not able to obtain an appointment with VW XXXX to buy back my vehicle until XXXX XXXX, XXXX. In the meantime, XXXX payments on my auto loan became due and I paid both on time. I was assured by VW Credit and VW XXXX that VW XXXX XXXX would transmit the full amount of the balance due as of early XXXX and the amount of payments I made in XXXX and XXXX would be refunded to me shortly after VW Credit received the funds from VW XXXX. The VW Credit representative I spoke with initially told me it would take 2-3 weeks for VW Credit to receive the funds from VW XXXX XXXX, and would initiate a refund of overpayment to me within 2-3 business days following the account closure. VW Credit confirmed that it received the funds from VW XXXX XXXX to payoff the loan and closed the loan on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I called today XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to determine when the overpayment would be refunded to me, and they confirmed I had a refund of about {$820.00} due to me, but would be holding those funds for 17 days following the payoff date of XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. This means that VW will effectively have held my money for nearly a month and a half after I turned in my vehicle to VW and satisfied all my obligations to them. I believe I ( and other VW owners who are similarly situated ) be entitled to a speedier return of our funds. Shortly after I got off the phone with this representive, he called me back and let me know they could expedite the process by about 4-5 days if he submitted a check request. However, this will still result in VW Credit holding funds due to me for over 1.5 weeks following payoff of the loan.

Complaint: Volkswagen scammed me with a diesel Wagon. I 'm sure you know the story. But then ... they purposely weighted the 'amount owed ' to them ( *because our LOAN was through VW Credit ) so that they would get a higher payoff than was due to them to offset their losses from the settlement payout. After they defrauded me, they then continued their scammy/spammy behavior with 'creative accounting. ' Because this happened when my loan was only about a year old, they counted very little of the approx {$8000.00} I 'd made in payments to PRINCIPAL ( *applied less than {$2000.00} ). So, in the end, although they 're paying a 'settlement ' it 's not like they 're actually taking any 'losses. '

Complaint: I have n't received a statement of my account with Volkswagen Credit since XX/XX/XXXX. When I reached out to them online, I received the response below. It appears that because I overpay every month, they think it is n't necessary for them to issue a statement. I have no way of having a monthly record of my payments or knowing my current balance on the loan without a statement. I believe this violates some statute or regulation, since I receive statements on all of my accounts which I overpay. Here is my message to them and their response ( their response is first, my original is below ) : Response on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX CST : Thank you for choosing Volkswagen Credit. We strive to provide quality customer service to ensure your satisfaction. Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize for the delay in response and appreciate your patience. A Customer Care representative can have the additional money applied towards your principal balance as a one-time transaction and not a repeating transaction.
