Complaint: For some unknown reason, Toyota Financial services canceled my online payment account. They were never able to explain why, but admitted it was their fault. I had been making online payments for years, but suddenly, I could n't, and was told that I could not reopen the account. This was in XX/XX/2016. One agent told me I could pay over the phone, using XXXX XXXX. I did. The same happened for XX/XX/XXXX : I paid over the phone. In XX/XX/XXXX, I took the time to try to get to the bottom of the problem because it was inconvenient. I was told I had XXXX accounts. I spoke to many representatives, often being on hold for long periods of time, only to be disconnected and have to tell this rather involved account all over. I found out that the payments I made over the phone had disappeared, and no one could tell me what happened. They informed me that I would have to go to my bank and get a merchant report to show that the money was indeed taken out, something my credit union never heard of. I spent countless hours on the phone and running around. I was told that because it was their fault, it had not been reported to a credit agency. I found out yesterday that it had. Even though they finally sent letters saying it was resolved, it has not been. Just yesterday, I was told that my account was past due again. It was n't and had not been. I was harassed on my job and tried to clear it up, but soon after that lengthy call, another representative called me at work to tell me my car was about to be repossessed. Each time that a representative could see from the account that I was indeed telling the truth, I was told that it had not been reported to a credit agency, but that was a lie. I have all of my receipts that demonstrate when the payments were made.

Complaint: Hello, I have a loan with Toyota Financial on my XXXX. In order for me to pay down my principal, Toyota requires that paper checks or money orders be sent directly to their XXXX XXXX facility. I sent my first check on XXXX XXXX ( 12 days ago ). Toyota is claiming the check has not been received and that it would still take upto 2 days to post onto the account. Note : standard mail in the U.S. takes 3-5 days, maximum, which means Toyota has had the check for 6-7 days. My complaint is that Toyota makes it incredibly cumbersome and inconvenient for customers to paydown the principal on loans. I deal with Student Loans, Credit Cards and various other debts where paydown of principal in instantaneous and convenient for the consumer.

Complaint: Got a call and voicemail from XXXX. No caller ID and asked me to call back XXXX and gave me a case #. Upon calling back they asked me to verify my address, SS # etc. I did not disclose any information and I asked what this was regarding. They said they needed to verify my case before they could give me any details. Then they asked about an old account/tradeline that was paid in full and closed in 2008 9 years ago. I told them this debt was paid in full and I no longer wish to speak with them. They were threatining to sue me and stated they sent an " official '' document to my address 45 days ago and because I did not respond with 30 days they are suing and I will be arrested immediately unless the debt is settled. I then explained the debt was paid 9 years ago and I am no longer interested in speaking with them about this matter. They hung up. I am concerned that I am a victim of Identity theft.

Complaint: Toyota Financial Services erroneously ( perhaps fraudulently ) issued both my wife and me IRS XXXX XXXX claiming excess wear and tear on leased vehicles. These were issued erroneously because, for a debt discharge to occur, the amount of the obligation owed must not be open to any real dispute as to whether or not it 's actually owed. These are and always have been vigorously disputed and never documented. Additional pertinent facts : 1. These charges were repeatedly disputed under the Texas Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. We were never provided any photographs or repair bills supporting their claim. 2. Toyota periodically reassigned our accounts to different collection agencies. Each time we asserted our rights under the TFDCPA they ceased collection activity without providing the requested documentation. 3. Toyota 's own website includes numerous examples of excess wear and tear, none of which were on our vehicles. ( My wife and I are XXXX+ year old XXXX 's and these are XXXX Toyota Camrys. We are not exactly hard on cars. ) 4. The dealership inspected and accepted our vehicles upon return. The charges were " surprise bills '' that came later, with no opportunity to further inspect or effect repairs on our own. 5. Finally and perhaps most importantly, this is internally generated revenue to Toyota. They choose an amount, and once the vehicle is beyond the customer 's control, send the bill. They simply have not documented that they incurred any actual repair cost. Debt discharge can only exist if, and to the extent that, the lender has taken an actual cash loss. In summary, these XXXX forms were issued for losses that can not be documented. In talking with several of the collection agencies assigned to these accounts, it appears that Toyota regularly tacks on these additional charges as yield enhancers and this is a common practice for them.

Complaint: My lease ended XXXX/XXXX/17. On XXXX/XXXX/17, I talked to a Toyota Financial XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who gave me information about pay off amount and dealer information. She never talked about the month to month payment option after contract expired, she told me I could either return the car or get it financed. I told her I would come to the dealer to get it financed. Few day later, I received a statement date XXXX/XXXX/17 with a late payment. I tried to make payment via phone but automate payment was not available. On XXXX/XXXX/17, XXXX called me again. I informed her that I have spoken to my dealer and they were working on getting my car financed. I also asked her about the statement date XXXX/XXXX/17 because I was never informed about making payment after the lease expired and I never received the statement when the payment was due, I only received the statement when it was passed due. She said it was my fault for not knowing about that information and I should have contacted her first. When I explained to her that I never knew about this information until it was passed due, she rudely told me that I was making excuses and it was all my fault. I intended to continue to make payments until I get the car financed ; however, my account would not be passed due if all this information was provided to me formally. This treatment was unfair and deceptive.

Complaint: XX/XX/2016 I contacted Toyota Financial to see if I could have my XX/XX/XXXX payment moved to the end of my contract. They disclosed that I had to pay all late fees which I did. They sent me a loan agreement that stated the payment for XX/XX/2016 had been moved to the end of the loan contract. On the same document that I signed, it disclosed that the next payment amount was @ {$280.00} but I paid {$300.00} on XX/XX/2016. Now they are saying that I owe more than the one payment that I am past due. Because of financial hardships caused by a house fire, I missed the XX/XX/2016 payment, however, I should only show past due for@XXXX but Toyota shows @ {$1300.00}. I believe that they are doing this as a scare tactic so that they may take my car from me.

Complaint: In XXXX, I leased a Toyota XXXX from Toyota Financial. I swapped banks in the end of XXXX early XXXX to be more convenient banking closer to my work. XXXX payments i made were not credited by Toyota Finance at that time. They did clear my banks. For the last year plus I have been sending them the information from the banks where it shows cleared payments to TFS. On four separate occasions i faxed the info to them. I have XXXX missed payments on my credit report now because of this. Worse of all now it is time to purchase my lease and I had been dealing with TFS, they said it was resolved and gave me buyout quote. Took off work to make the purchase and then they told me they would not finance me, even with a co-signer, no matter what. Now the lease expires on the XXXX and i have to scramble to get financing and paid in time. There is a chance now my wife will lose her car and not be able to get the children to school and to her work as i work out of XXXX.

Complaint: Company received payment in amount of {$3000.00} from warranty cancellation. This was applied to payments. Loan was rolled to being due for XX/XX/2017. The payment was then reversed and applied to principal. When the payment was reversed, my loan was put into a delinquent status for 2 months. A customer service member told me as a courtesy to me, they would take 2 payments out of the {$3000.00} payment that was applied to principal to my loan to bring me current. They never did so. When I called back to speak to a manager, he informed me I was given wrong information, even though he admitted they told me that, and that there was nothing they could do. My loan is now 2 payments delinquent and they have been reporting not only negatively on my credit, but my co-borrower. This is very unfair lending and false promises with unrealistic expectations. They told me they were going to do something so they should honor their word. This is not harming the company at all as they still would be receiving the same amount of money in either situation. This situation is putting undue hardship on myself as well as causing long term impacts to my credit and my co-borrowers credit for something we did not cause.

Problems when you are unable to pay

Consumer Loan: Vehicle lease

Complaint: I have a lease agreement with Toyota/Lexus Financial Services. Due to an unforeseen temporary XXXX and XXXX my loan has become delinquent. I contacted numerous customer service representatives to request a loan deferment which is advertised in the finance options provided by the company. Unfortunately, I was charged {$300.00} per deferment month, which is excessive and XXXX of the required payment. I adhered to the agreement, paid the fee and signed the forms. Yet, my account still reflects a severely delinquent payment status and the agreement has been unjustly withheld by an account representative allegedly in the " Lexus Executive Corporate " offices in California. I was provided with a XXXX XXXX number and a recorded message left by a XXXX XXXX XXXX I attempted to return the call but only spoke with a hostile male representative who in prior days refused to provide truthful account information regarding my balance and a viable and fair solution to bring my account current. In essence the male representative was deceptive and only provided a predatory payment solution with interest rates that reflect the discriminatory rates which sparked the XXXX XXXX dollar class action discrimination law suit. Lexus/ Toyota practices regarding individuals with minority profiles has not changed. In fact the tricks and lies prevent consumers from incurring excessive fees and repossession. I am a certified educator who has conveyed to the company that I am seeking to finance my vehicle through my credit union. This is not possible if Lexus Financial refuses to allow me to bring my account current with the agreement verbally and documented. The account representatives are participating in fraudulent practices such as refusing to provide accurate account information regarding payments due. In fact, I have had my account reported delinquent due to a monthly payment of {$16.00} owed and the information intentionally withheld to " force " my account into a full demand for payment status. The interest has is more than XXXX points. My car was obtained in XXXX of XXXX. I am seeking to have XXXX full payments added to the balance ( months of XXXX & XXXX ) partial payment for XXXX {$250.00} accepted, XXXX XXXX, XXXX payment accepted paid in full by XXXX XXXX, XXXX. The XXXX payment due by XXXX XXXX, XXXX. This will allow my payment to become current and obtain fair financing by my credit union.

Complaint: I leased a XXXX Toyota Corolla from Toyota Financial Services. When the lease was close to ending in XX/XX/XXXX, I traded in my XXXX Corolla for a XXXX model. I made 2 payments to TFS ( XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ) that were to be payments toward my new lease. Instead, they were credited to an excessive wear charge ( which I will argue later in this note ) and I was assessed a late fee. Even with the money being credited to the excessive wear charge, there was still a refund due to me that has not been sent or credited to my lease payments as of XX/XX/XXXX. TFS did credit the late fee back to my account. In XXXX I received about 5 phone calls a day, including calls to my work phone, from TFS demanding payment of a bill I did not owe. The only way to stop the phone calls was to make an additional payment. Customer services representatives continued to claim they never received the XXXX payment. One rep. insisted I did n't know what an e-check was and told me that it was a paper check sent by the bank. She said it must have been lost by the USPS. I had my credit union trace the payment and they confirmed that Toyota received and accepted the payment. On XX/XX/XXXX Toyota finally found the payment they had received on XX/XX/XXXX. They said they would credit my XXXX lease but then called back today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) to say that I still owed more money on the excess wear ( which they had previously said was paid in full in XXXX ) and that they were retaining some of the promised refund toward what was still owed. As for the excessive wear charges, these include a {$300.00} charge for a remote/keyless entry fob and 2nd car key. The car never had a keyless remote fob. I had previously reported to the Toyota dealer that the 2nd key they gave me never worked for my car. So, I only ever received 1 key for the car and I gave the key back to them when I turned the XXXX model.
