Problem with paying off the loan
Complaint: During the period of my car note I needed a couple extensions. I tried very hard to keep up with everything because I live alone and support myself. I told that my loan with each extension would make my maturity date extended an extra month but what they did n't explain is how much interest they would charge me in a one time fee at the maturity date. I was making payments and after I checked the next day to make sure my payment was accepted, i had a random past due notice of {$2900.00} about a month ago and I called to ask about it and they explained it was for the Interest EACH DAY for each of the extensions i took during the period of the loan. I explained that I could n't possibly pay all that at once because yet again I am still a single person trying my best to pay all my bills and all they could tell me is that " well we were here when you needed the help, but that all has a cost involved '' I do n't believe it 's fair to charge this much knowing that the person asked for help for a reason in the first place. It was n't fully explained the actual cost that would be involved when taking an extension. I think they are taking advantage of people who are trying really hard to keep up with everything they need in life to survive and forcing them to pay a fee for being human. I would really like some help with this.

Complaint: This issue is with Toyota financial services ( TFS ), their poor customer service, and their excessively harsh response to a single late payment. I have had two loans with them that span a length of 7 years. In that period of time, I have paid off one loan and make timely payments on the second one. I never had a late payment. My payments have always been setup for automated monthly payments. At the end of last year there was a change with my banking information which I updated online. I assumed it was setup properly as I never received a notice otherwise. Somehow the autopay did not process properly and my account became past due. But I was not given any notice of late payment. I did not know that I had a past due balance until I received a negative hit on my credit report and saw a substantial drop in m y credit score. I immediately called TFS to pay for my past due and current due amounts. After waiting on hold for at lea st 20-30 m inutes, I spoke with customer service and requested to have the negative credit market removed. The agent was very rude and unhelpful. I was told that it could not be done over the phone. However, I could write a letter directly to TFS explaining the situation and the negative marker would be removed. I mailed out a letter shortly thereafter stating my concerns. I later received a return letter denying my request. I called TFS customer service, was forced to wait on hold for a long time, and was again told to write another letter to request the negative removal. I did this and was again denied via mail. It is extremely upsetting that a long term customer who never had a late payment was denied a courtesy adjustment. It is frustrating that there was no notice given regarding an error in my autopay account or that my account was past due. It is shocking how poor the customer service is whether phone or mail. I have always had good credit. Having a negative credit marker has had a substantial impact on my credit and has seriously affected my ability to qualify for credit. It will be a long time before the negative credit market will no longer affect my credit. TFS response to my one and only late payment is excessive and completely unnecessary.

Complaint: I returned a leased vehicle to XXXX on X/XX/XX , before the lease through XXXX XXXX XXXX matured on X/X/XX . Dealer reviewed vehicle and did not see any damage, however said a third party reviewed all vehicles upon return and would do so in the next week. On X/XX/XX a check was issued and mailed to my correct address from XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$530.00} in over payment after satisfactory completion of the lease and return of the vehicle. I did not receive any further correspondence in regards to the lease from either XXXX XXXX XXXX or Toyota Motor Credit Corp for all of XXXX . On X/XX/XXXX , I received a letter in the mail ( dated X/XX/XX ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( a debt collector ) w hich said I owe {$1500.00} to Toyota Motor Credit Corp and said " your leased vehicle was returned and your account balance may consist of one or more of the following charges : unpaid lease charges, mileage and/or wear and use over and above the allowed by your lease agreement ''. I contacted both XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX and inquired about the letter and also why I was receiving notification of any supposed issues 13 months after the vehicle was returned with no communication in the interim other than the refund check I received from XXXX XXXX XXXX for satisfactory completion of the lease. A XXXX XXXX XXXX representative said additional correspondence was mailed - however they notice it was mailed to another address in a different state. The representative also said now that the matter was with a debt collector they will not provide that correspondence and I must work with the debt collector. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and their representative was just extremely rude, said they just received the file, do not have any of the correspondence, but the debt is mine and demanded payment and that I tell them how I will pay. Very frustrated with both organizations. I was issued a refund check, received no correspondence for over a year, and now am being told I owe {$1500.00}. I also know for a fact there was nothing wrong with the vehicle when I returned it and the milage was well below the amount allowed under the lease terms.

Complaint: - On XX/XX/XXXX, my wife and I went to the car dealership Toyota XXXX ( located on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CA XXXX ) to buy a used car ( a Prius from XX/XX/XXXX ).
- We went in with an approval letter for a car loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX : a loan of XXXX $ ( the price of the car ), with a 5 % APR over 60 months ( and no down payment ).
- The XXXX salesman told us that they would run my credit score to see if they could beat my XXXX offer. So they ran my credit score and they checked with their financial service to see what offer they could give me. They came back with the offer of a XXXX $ loan, with a 9,9 % APR over 60 months, after a down payment of XXXX .
- Therefore, we aggreed to sign a contract with their offer ( in case XXXX did n't give us the loan ) and we gave them a XXXX $ check for the down payment. When we were signing the contract, they even said this contract is just in case you do n't give us the check of the loan you expect from XXXX.
- A week later, XXXX called us to tell us that they changed their mind and that they would not give us the loan. We tried for three weeks to get this loan with UME, adding my wife on the loan and providing additional paperworks, but XXXX refused.
- So we called Toyota and told them that we will honor the contract they established - with their financial service - based on my credit score, and that we will send them the first payment on XX/XX/XXXX, as specified on the contract.
- This is when Toyota told us that the contract that we signed was optional and that we needed to come back to their office in order to sign a new contract, with a higher APR.
- We read the contract many time and we even talked about it with a lawyer friend, but it is specified nowhere that the contract is optional. Plus, the offer ( and the APR ) they offered us in the first place was already based on my credit score and profile. It was approved, on XX/XX/XXXX, by their financial service before we signed it.
- Toyota called us again. When we said that we could not see anywhere that the contract was optional and when we asked them to provide us legal proof that we had to sign a new contract, the Toyota salesman said we have been fair to you so now you have to be fair to us and come sign a new contract. When we insisted on seeing a legal reason to do so, he said that he would transfer us to his superior ( which he did n't ) and threatened us to repossess the car before hanging up.

Complaint: XXXX. ( d/b/a XXXX ) advertised a specific XXXX VIN # XXXX for {$33000.00} with XXXX miles, white exterior and auto transmission. I went to the dealership and agreed to purchase the vehicle for the advertised price and the dealer agreed to give me {$9000.00} as a credit for a trade-in of my XXXX. I owned my XXXX in full and I did not have a loan outstanding on it. I executed the documents to finance the vehicle. There was much confusion and I was asked to sign all the finance papers quickly with little time to review them and the entire time the finance officer kept his palm on the top half of the papers and asked me to sign the bottom of the page so that the only number that I saw when I signed the documents was {$36000.00} ( which seemed roughly correct when I calculated the {$2800.00} service contract added to the {$33000.00} purchase price ). After a few days, I realized that the dealership had changed the purchase price from the advertised price of {$33000.00} to {$42000.00} ( {$8700.00} more than I agreed to ). I called and went back to the dealership on 2 ocassions. I spoke to the manager XXXX and the finance officer. The finance officer tried to convince me that the calculations were correct and the manager XXXX stated that he could not figure out how they came to the amount.
I called Toyota Financial Services ( lender ) and they called the dealership and as a result XXXX called me and let me know that Toyota had contacted the dealership. XXXX invited me to come in and speak to him. When I did, XXXX simple could not assist me because he could n't figure it out. The lender has informed me that their review indicates that the trade-in {$9000.00} was a " wash '' and they referred me back to the dealer. The lender should have seen that I was not given the {$9000.00} credit. The lender refuses to make the adjustment.

Debt was paid
Complaint: I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX. to collect a debt from Toyota Motor Credit on a XXXX. The XXXX account number ended in XXXX for client account number ending in XXXX. The payoff amount was {$10000.00} for a car that my ex-husband had retained in the divorce and had eventually been repossessed. This was a debt that I did owe because I was on the car loan as well.
I contacted XXXX and settled this debt on XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX at XXXX for {$6300.00}. I have the confirmation letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX. stating these terms and the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX stating the debt had been released. It reads " As per your request, we wish to advise you that your account with the above referenced client has been satisfied. On behalf of TOYOTA MOTOR CREDIT and XXXX., thank you for satisfying your account as agreed. This is a communication from a debt collector attempting to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. '' Everything was good until I received a letter from XXXX . postage stamped XX/XX/XXXX and dated XX/XX/XXXX trying to collect on the remaining debt that had already been settled through SRA Associates , Inc . This letter is for XXXX # ending in XXXX on the same XXXX with an account balance of {$4000.00}. Now, if you are following along you would know that the beginning debt balance of {$10.00}, XXXX minus the settlement amount of {$6300.00} ( that Toyota settled with me through XXXX . and released me from the remainder of the debt ) equals {$4000.00}. Toyota has pushed my account out to ANOTHER agency to settle the remainder of a debt that they have ALREADY released me from. This is a violation of FDCPA. They are not allowed to collect on a debt that has already been settled.

Account status
Complaint: I had XXXX auto loans with Toyota Motor Credit which were paid off in XXXX and XXXX. Since these dates they have appeared on my credit report as " pays as agreed ''. I have attached a copy of my report which details each month since these dates as marked XXXX and XXXX Then on XXXX, Toyota reported these account as Pays 31-60 days and 90-120 days even though they were paid off years ago. There was no reason to change the status of these account as I did not owe anything to Toyota and for the past nearly 6 years they have been reported as " pays as agrees ''. I wish Toyota to change the status back as had been reporting. I had previously disputed why these old account remained on my record, and then Toyota goes and puts old information on my record that has no meaning and relevance at this time. I have attached the XXXX pages from my XXXX Credit Report for XXXX which shows both accounts reported as " Pays as Agrees '' and the XXXX pages from XXXX, which the account status changed. And on XXXX report you can clearly see the many years after the accounts were paid, there was no negative reporting by Toyota Financial. It is very harmful to me that Toyota for no reason would ruin my credit record now, for payments nearly seven years ago, when in reality these accounts should not even still be on my credit report. Please have Toyota correct the status back to Pays as Agrees. Thank you.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I called Toyota Financial Services in order to defer my lease payment for that month as I had done in the last 6 years. When the payment was not processed correct, there was back and forth phone conversations which I initiated, and Toyota assured me things were being taken care of.After getting multiple answers from different people I faxed in the requested paperwork. I made my payment for XX/XX/XXXX as normal. Then, in XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a new vehicle from a XXXX dealership. The cashiers check was shipped on XX/XX/XXXX and the check arrived at Toyota 's payoff center on XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX receipt shows the address as well as the name and signature of the person who accepted the payoff payment. It was n't until about a week later when Toyota Financial called my work extension to say that I was over thirty days late for my payment. This started a vicious cycle. Since XX/XX/XXXX, myself as well as my husband have called numerous times in order to get the issue taken care of. We have done everything requested by XXXX. Filed a massive amount of paper work, faxed over copies of the check, as well as who signed for the overnight delivery of the payoff for the car. We 've provided all the necessary information needed in order to handle this situation and there is still no avail. We 've been given the run around for over five months, and Toyota has since reported us late to all three credit agencies on two separate occasions. Each time I call in with a reference number or employee ID I can not be transferred to the same employee. Each time we call in, its a different story. Currently, my me and my husbands credit is being negatively impacted as Toyota still shows an outstanding balance, and says that we are over 60 days late. I have not owned the car in well over 6 week, the payoff amount was verified more then once. Toyota at one point told us that they were process the research for where the check was ; only to have someone else tell me they 're not even sure they have a check. I can not talk to the credit department, as they only give me an address to mail a letter in.There is no more that we can do in order to fix this situation. We need help.

Complaint: I co-signed for my son and toyota did not pick up the payment from XXXX XXXX because according to toyota motors they had transitioned to XXXX but toyota still took the vehicle and allowed the reinstatement he paid about {$2400.00} for toyota motors to turn around and take the truck back from him and said the account had been closed since XXXX. I tried to refinance the loan and made Toyota motors aware but in the process they ended up asking me to pay {$350.00} for them to release the payout amount to the new refinancing company and auctioned out the vehicle. My credit was ruined and my son and his family ended up with no truck after toyota made that mistake.
