Credit denial
Complaint: Send an application for a XXXX to the dealer XXXX XXXX XXXX, speak by email with XXXX XXXX, which i explains what I was looking for, and how was my credit, and that I had a car to make a trade in which is also financed by the toyota financial I spent more than 4 hours in the dealer waiting for the approval, i drive the car I was going to buy, I did everything about the application even before i get there and XXXX tell me all were good they can help..but i need to go to the dealer, and I told the person that help with the process that I would put XXXX dollars of deposit, Again they told me i have to be there to see the value of my car for trade in. It was a waste of time, and money from me, there is no ethics and misleading information to attract customers.. is not professional, and should they not do it. I traveled from XXXX PA, to XXXX for nothing, and it was the first thing I said to XXXX ... he told me that the manager said that we can help you but you must come to the dealer I don't know how they did not approve the car if i had the one i trade financed with toyota finance, and I never failed a payment, I bought this XXXX XXXX for XXXX dollars, I gave XXXX of initial, and i pay XXXX payment.without missing a during almost a year, as it turns out that they did not even bother to call the toyota financial and explain the case. I imagine that since it is a used car i will buy, and not new, and that it would only put {$500.00} on this initial occasion ... I did not see much interest in the manager of approving this loan. In addition to completely devaluing the price of my car that buys from toyota indepence of XXXX for XXXX dollars and XXXX XXXX miles XXXX toyota offered me only XXXX, with about XXXX current miles. An abuse and fraud to customers. I also noticed that my proof payments were not taken into consideration, and I feel that I was discriminated against by not even taking look at it since I am XXXX XXXX, and my income is from social security XXXX XXXX, I am work 18 years hard, if you look at the cameras I put the proof of payments on the table and I told him this is my proof of income, it is almost 2800 dollars monthly, and I have a house rented for XXXX dollars, after i pay the mortgage and I have about {$400.00} extra monthly, which is an income .. but they never not look at the papers.that is the first thing dealer ask when you are about to finance a card, proof of income ... and what they told me after hours, is that toyota financial does not want to make the loan because i have a past bankruptcy on my credit, I told him if I have a bankruptcy that has been discharged for almost 3 years, it is chapter XXXX, which was 5 years old and I paid it in two ... and on the month of XXXX will be removed because is discharge almost 3 ... Even so, he only said he could not do anything, because he could not go back to his manager to ask why it was his decision. So my question is, how the toyota financial says it would not give the loan if the XXXX i own I bought it almost 12 months ago with toyota financial, and when I bought it had the same bankruptcy which was already discharge and was in my credit file too?? It something here that don't fit .. at the same time I have never failed a payment.

Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Auto debt

Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, On XX/XX/19 I received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX, a collection agency in XXXX, FL, on behalf of Toytoa Motor Credit. The notice was for a balance for {$980.00} for an unknown to me at the time services/fee/charge. I reached out to XXXX on XX/XX/19 to validate the debt and make the necessary arrangements to have this taken care of. I found out that this was the deductible balance owed on a leased vehicle through Toyota to which I was a co-signer for a XXXX XXXX as the primary account holder. XXXX and I do not live together, nor communicate so at the time I had no idea this balance was even owed. I never once received a call or letter from Toyota stating that the balance was due and if not paid the account would be forwarded to collections and listed as a charge-off on my credit report. Had it been made aware of the debt I would have seen to it that it was taken care of by XXXX and/or paid the balance off myself to protect my credit. On Saturday XX/XX/19 late evening I received a notification that Toyota had listed the account to the credit bureau as a charge off / collections account negatively impacting my credit score. I called XXXX on XX/XX/19 to find out what as going on and they indicated that this was coming directly from Toyota. After calling Toyota to dispute this listing the CSR was not helpful, quite rude, and I got nowhere. The line I was told over and over again was " we are contractually obligated not to speak to you about this account ''. Even though they are the ones who are reporting this to the credit bureau. I'm writing to you today in hopes that this will create some buzz and ultimately get Toyota to remove this from my credit report as the debt was never validated and now they are screwing up my score. I would like to make it very clear that XXXX XXXX has been great to work with. My issue is only with Toyota Motor Credit Corp! Best regards, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Acct : # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Acct # XXXX

Problem with the interest rate
Complaint: As a formal inquiry into the case of the United States v. Toyota Motor Credit Corp. ( XXXX. XXXX. ) Which came to my knowledge about six months ago. I feel as though I have been one of the victims of Toyotas ill practices. I am writing this letter to restrain advantages taken upon me being that I am older and of minority descent. In XX/XX/2014 I financed a brand new XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX AT XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX located in XXXX, NY. I believe I was unknowingly taken advantage by Toyota since I am liable for, in total, XXXX for a vehicle which at the time costed {$35000.00}. I ponder upon the fact that Toyota knowingly inflated my interest rate because of my ethnicity. I don't think this is fair as I, like many others, is a hard working individual. It is frightening to think that a big corporation such as Toyota would take advantage of individuals of minority such as myself. I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this matter.

Complaint: I traded my XXXX XXXX XXXX lease in back in XX/XX/XXXX. My lease was traded in early, XXXX bought my lease out in the amount of XXXX which was the buy out amount. Im now a customer with XXXX and now leasing a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I received a bill from Toyota for the XXXX XXXX that I no longer have as of XX/XX/XXXX. I called Toyota Financial speaking to a rep who confirmed the reason I was sent a bill is because an odometer statement was not received. In addition they could not process the check until this item had been received. I was told to contact the dealer to send this info via fax. I call my dealer speaking to my salesman I told him about the situation and said that Toyota is calling for the odometer statement. He said he never sent one of these before and couldnt believe that Toyota was asking for this. He said that he would discuss with his boss and get back to me. This was fine I later received a text of the invoice that said the car was bought out by XXXX. My salesman called me to let me know he text me the invoice I confirmed receiving it. I then called Toyota the second time speaking to a new rep, I explained the entire conversation from the beginning and was told that I needed an odometer statement. I said that XXXX never sent a odometer statement in the past. The rep said in order to close the account that the statement was needed. I did my part by turning in my plates and going to the dmv etc Ive got all my receipts. So now Im caught in the middle and frustrated because XXXX will not send the odometer statement I guess to protect me or them from fees? I dont want this on my credit as Im trying to clean up my credit now. I really need help in this matter as you can see its really ridiculous Id be stuck in the middle of something that should have been taken care of from the beginning. Im not the owner of the car XXXX is I feel like any invoice concerning the XXXX should go to them not me!

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Toyota Financial Services when I received an alert that my account was 30 days late from the credit bureaus. I learned that this was reported because half of the payment wasnt received in 30 days. I explained to them that it is my daughters car that I co-signed for and her father and I split the payment. I asked what I needed to do. They later told me how much I needed to pay and I paid it with my debit card over the phone. I started to receive call from TFS about the account. I then learned that everything we paid the {$10.00} fee if we paid after 10 days they never credited the money to the account for the fees. They kept putting it toward the principal. This was the second time this occurred. I asked them why they would do that and there was no way for me to specially direct my money when I pay because they do not give the option. They then corrected my account. Again, this was then second time. Again later, I began to receive phone calls about a missing payment of over 200 and received another 30 day alert in XX/XX/XXXX. I asked them to research my account because of all the issues I had been having. They claimed they would and would get back to me. Different people would continue to call me daily and I would have to explain over and over while each person claimed they would research. However, we continued to make our payment. Now we are in XX/XX/XXXX. I received these notices that our account was becoming more delinquent but it was not accurate. I was then informed that they never put the money I paid over the phone or Im XX/XX/XXXX toward the past due of XX/XX/XXXX. I asked why they would do that because it impacted my credit score greatly. The representative said that people post payments different and that you have to call in to specify. Again, o told them that this was a flaw in their system and that it should give the option of where my money is going when I pay online. There is only one box. Nothing for late fee and nothing for overdue balance. I asked to speak to someone else that could help me get my account back on track. I was transferred to another representative who told me that he could not tell me the parameters for an extension because then you would just say what you need to say to get it approved. I was appalled and asked to speak with a manager. The manager apologized and told me that she was going to do an administrative extension request to bring my XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX accounts to current and on time. She told me that it could take and few days to see if it was approved and to call Back. It was a Friday so I waited. When I called back a few times there was nothing. A different representative told me that there was no such request in the system. I began to cry from the stress and my daughter had just had XXXX. The representative them told me that the XXXX was a qualifier and she approved my exrension right on the spot. She told me that it could take 1-2 weeks for the paperwork to come in the mail to sign. It never came but it was approved. I kept calling. TFS finally sent the paperwork for me to sign electronically in XX/XX/XXXX. I signed it and continued to make my payments throughout. I noticed a few weeks ago that my account stays was still never fixed for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX Im my credit report. They told me that I had to dispute it with the credit bureaus. I did this. They have since codes XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX as no data when they where in good status and left XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX as delinquent. I am very distraught over TFS and there fraudulent dealings and refusal to do the right thing. I need my XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX put back to the on time payment. I need them to accurately reflect XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX as current since they approved the extension to put those months to the back of my loan. At the least, they should have coded those months as no data. Not all of the months that were paid on time. XX/XX/XXXX is the only month that should reflect 30 days late and that is becaus only half of the payment was late.

Problem with a trade-in
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, My wife and I purchased two XXXX XXXX XXXX. My vehicle had no negative equity but my wife 's vehicle had about {$9000.00} in negative equity because of her XXXX XXXX XXXX trade-in. On XX/XX/XXXX, my wife went to see our previous sales person, XXXX XXXX, regarding possible repairs on her XXXX XXXX XXXX rim and to also look into a XXXX XXXX XXXX, since she was considering a possible upgrade if financially feasible. Although, I was opposed to the this upgrade and refused to sign off on this sale as the primary purchaser ( knowing my wife had about a {$9000.00} negative equity on her XXXX XXXX and the deal would not be financially feasible ), XXXX XXXX ensured my wife that an upgrade to the XXXX XXXX XXXX would be barely any difference from her current financing of the XXXX XXXX XXXX and that she could go on this deal alone with little change in her monthly payments. So XXXX XXXX did the numbers for the XXXX XXXX sale with incorrect information for the trade in. XXXX XXXX did the numbers with information for my XXXX XXXX with no equity, instead of my wife 's XXXX XXXX with about {$9000.00} negative equity because he was eager to complete the sales and swindle my wife. My wife 's XXXX XXXX, because I was a primary on the vehicle, had a XXXX APR with {$1000.00} and something in interest and total cost with negative equity from trade-in was total sales price of {$31000.00}. The sales of the XXXX XXXX with just my wife 's credit was 7.5 % APR with {$8100.00} in interest for 75 months with a car sales price of {$30000.00} and a total sales price of {$40000.00}. How are these deals not much different? I spoke with XXXX from Toyota Financial Services today and he confirmed that my wife and I were lied to while XXXX XXXX was trying to cover up their fraudulence, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX reported that the documents were erroneously swapped to show that my wife 's XXXX XXXX was solely on my credit and my vehicle was on both of our credits. XXXX XXXX said multiple times that I should come in and exchange cars with my wife 's trade in to fix the initial financing paperwork error XXXX XXXX made, meanwhile, he was trying to get me stuck with the car with {$9000.00} negative equity so he could complete the sketchy sales of the XXXX XXXX to my wife. XXXX XXXX has requested that my wife and I come to the dealership several times to resolve the issues and sign the correct paperwork to no avail of resolution that did not involve my wife and I getting swindled and me switching my car with no negative equity, for her car with {$9000.00} negative equity. I went to the dealership to sign off on the trade-in for my wife 's XXXX XXXX late XX/XX/XXXX because XXXX XXXX pressured me to do because it had to be done by the end of the month. After this, my wife and I have been pressured by XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) to switch my XXXX XXXX with my wife 's traded-in XXXX XXXX, pay {$5000.00} cash outside of the contract balance out some of the negative equity or to unwind the more recent XXXX XXXX purchase and XXXX XXXX trade in, with my wife returning the XXXX XXXX and taking her trade-in XXXX XXXX back. These proposed resolutions by XXXX XXXX mostly involved a significant inconvenience to my wife and I. XXXX XXXX threatened me, stating that things will be bad for me if I attempted to find resolution through the Attorney General 's office because he knows people there and they would not respond in my favor. XXXX XXXX also has called my wife to continually threaten me, if I report the dealership to the Attorney General 's office. XXXX XXXX requested a secret meeting with just my wife to " resolve '' all the paperwork issues that he caused and fabricated. I have since requested through the Toyota Customer Experience hotline, that XXXX XXXX never contact my wife and I again with further attempts to threaten and intimidate us from exposing XXXX XXXX 's fraudulent activities.

Fraudulent loan
Complaint: XX/XX/ I singed a contract for the lease of a XXXX XXXX XXXX. During this transaction, I fully disclosed I was XXXX XXXX military. I provided my military Common Access Card, and a copy of my LES which in turn I was given a {$500.00} military discount. Aside from my full disclosure, there are other options for financial institutions to utilize to determine if the borrower is in the XXXX XXXX. During this time, I was offered GAP Insurance for {$990.00} in the finance department. I agreed to this item without realizing this item is prohibited from being offered to XXXX XXXX military under the Military Lending Act ( MLA ). XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I had spoken with the base JAG and was informed since the financial institution did not follow the MLA the lease agreement was null and void. I followed by contacting Toyota Financial Services the same day to discuss the error. I stated the contract was null and void due to a failure on their part to abide by the MLA. I called on two separate occasions. The first person I spoke with only put in a SCRA request and said someone would call me back. I waited about an hour but called again and spoke with a gentleman. He told me that although the GAP is not allowed I have to remove it and resign the contract and if I do not resign the contract and hand in the car then it will be reported to the credit bureau as a " Voluntary Surrender '' and will negatively hit my credit. The problem is the current contract is not binding due to illegally selling me GAP insurance. Toyota Financial Services have threated negative action because of their failure rather than trying to rectify the situation.

Termination fees or other problem when ending the lease early
Complaint: I was in a total loss accident in XX/XX/2018. After the process, and insurance settlement with Toyota Financial Services, they are stating, after community sting to my wife and I otherwise, that we owe an extra {$3800.00}. This amount is reflective of the insurance payout after the initial estimate. We were told by Toyota Financial Services that we did not have to pay that money to them as we had Gap coverage and it was settled. After GAP processed its part, Toyota Financial Services have us 20 days to pay the full amount requested. I believe this to be in violation of the fair debt collection act.
