Billing problem
Complaint: I financed a new XXXX XXXX is through Toyota financial services in XX/XX/2017. I got the car and two weeks later, the car lot recinded the contract on the car, changing the monthly due date and the price of the car and the payment agreement. Toyota financial did not abide by the the New contract. They tried to make me pay for the 2 different contract 's. Because of this, I now have late payment 's reporting on my credit reports and it has dropped my credit score by over 100 points. The car lot XXXX XXXX group, and Toyota financial have really hurt my credit reports. I have in good will tried to correct the problem. I can't get anything done about it. The car lot just treat 's you like a criminal for saying anything about it. Toyota financial just act 's like it's all your fault.

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Billing problem
Complaint: My Toyota XXXX is coming off of lease. I had previously calculated the remaining amounts for payments needed based on the Toyota Financial Services Account Management portal. This portal provided an incorrect amount left thus the amount that was calculated I was informed was incorrect. Based on the incorrect information there was a final balance of {$39.00}. I was not notified of this balance. Beginning on XX/XX/XXXX, Toyota Financial Services began calling me multiple times per day, harassing my cell phone and not identifying their call via voicemail. On XX/XX/19 I called Toyota Financial Services back to determine why this number kept calling me. The automated prompts identified my account ( multiple ) but I requested an agent as the harassing calls had failed to identify any information associated with Toyota ( including called ID not identifying the business ). I reach an operator who refused to assist me. She refused to inform me of why I was receiving the harassing calls. She incorrectly stated she required my FULL SSN to continue when I had already provided enough information for their system to identify my account. She refused to transfer me to a supervisor. I informed the Agent that her company, if it was Toyota Financial Services, was performing harassing calls and I again requested to speak to a supervisor. The agent again refused to push me to a supervisor and badgered me in a harassing and unprofessional manner. On XXXX, I was able to answer a call from the harassing number. The harassing calls were being performed by an auto-dialer. The agent provided me information in regards to the harassing calls. I informed the agent that I would check online as she failed to verify who was calling me ( failed to verify her employer ), verify that this situation was correct and move to correct any issues. During the call, I did not realize that the Toyota Financial Services website was providing incorrect information thus I couldn't speak to the validity of the claim. I also informed the agent that when calling they needed to leave a voicemail as I had already been harassed by Toyota Financial Services staff and systems. The agent then provided false information regarding Toyota Financial Services legal ability to leave a voicemail. I informed the agent that this information was false and that my prior experience in the financial services and debt management industry provided me with industry knowledge to the contrary. At this point the agent began badgering me and I requested to be transferred to a supervisor. The agent refused to transfer me to a supervisor. I repeated my requests and the agent continued to badger me and refuse my requests. At this point during the agents harassment I hung up the call.

Fraudulent loan
Complaint: I completed paperwork for the Toyota Motor Credit settlement. I received a letter that I was turned down without an explanation. I sent an email asking for details about the determination. I received a phone call on XX/XX/2019 about the settlement. I was unable to answer the call. When I called back, I was told that I was not eligible again without any rationale and, also, told that no appeals were possible. Toyota Motor Credit is still playing games. If I am truly ineligible, provide a written statement explaining. Now, I am frustrated and feel distrustful of Toyota Motor Credit.

Confusing or misleading advertising or marketing
Complaint: I do not speak XXXX, a student advocate from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX helped me write the following : On XX/XX/2019, I visited XXXX XXXX dealership, and purchased a used XXXX XXXX XXXX ( VIN : XXXX ). Since I do not speak XXXX, all negotiations took place in XXXX. A XXXX XXXX dealer gave me a preliminary estimate of the costs to purchase the car which amounted to {$14000.00} plus taxes. I found this acceptable, so I decided to carry out the purchase. The XXXX XXXX agent requested that I make a down payment of {$5000.00} to continue with the purchase. I informed him that I did not have the money, but he insisted I made the payment before proceed with the purchase. I told him I could give him a check and would deposit the sum within two days. The agent accepted. Before signing, I did not get to see the full contract. The agent only showed me the payment schedule. Moreover, the agent did not explain any of the provisions of the contract, which is drafted in XXXX, even though I only speak XXXX. But the agent made several assurances that the contract reflected the terms of our negotiations in XXXX. However, when I went home that night, I noticed that the estimate that the agent gave me was way under the purchasing cost for the car. I panicked because the amount was many times higher than what I expected or could afford to pay. Moreover, I noticed that the contract stipulated several additional costs for services that I had not consented. For example, I never agreed to pay additional money for a theft deterrent device, paint, or to purchase a service contract. The very next day, XX/XX/2019, I returned to your dealership to rescind the contract. But the agent dismissed my request and told me that since I had signed the contract, I could not cancel it. He informed me that only option would be to refinance after a couple of months. I went back several times to try to rescind the contract, but my requests were denied. Not knowing what else to do, I cancelled the check for the {$5000.00} down payment. I did not even want to pick up the car, but I was informed that if I did not take the car, you would begin to charge me $ XXXX/day in storage fees. Because I was so afraid and because I felt I had no other option, I drove away with the car. On XX/XX/2019, one of the XXXX XXXX managers, XXXX XXXX, called me to try to negotiate with me. She promised to remove all the additional service charges that I had not agreed to, which amounted to {$6500.00}. She promised to draw up a new contract that would reflect these changes but I refused to sign this contract unless I could have someone else verify it. I asked for a copy but she refused to give me a copy or to allow me to take a picture. I informed her I wanted attorneys to review the document before I signed, and she informed me that this would only take place if the person came with me and threaten that I only had two days to accept her offer. I refused under these conditions.

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I visited XXXX XXXX XXXX to view new vehicles since my current lease was terming out in a few days. XXXX XXXX, salesman, assisted me on choosing the vehicle that I wanted. I agreed on the vehicle of my choice, so the process continued with the financial portion of the deal. I spoke to XXXX, who was the lease dept. As part of the agreement, the dealership would taken my previous lease and all fees associated with the expiring old lease. Once I agreed on a down payment and monthly payment, I signed the papers and took possession of the new vehicle. Two months passed and I received notification that XXXX XXXX XXXX was charging me over {$4900.00} on mileage overage and was due immediately. I called XXXX XXXX, and he advised me that there was nothing he could do. I called and met with the General Manager XXXX XXXX, and he reassured me that he would be able to help with the misunderstanding, that he would get back to me as soon as possible. Several weeks passed and and several emails later, he advised me that he was not able to assist me with the mileage overage. I told him that was not part of the deal that I made with his dealership and that I would like to return the car and have my down payment of {$2500.00} returned to me. He told me that was impossible since three months have passed and I am stuck with the vehicle.

Billing dispute for services
Complaint: - on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I replaced a new bank account on my Toyota Financial services site regarding the lease of XXXX XXXX XXXX model that I had acquired during the XXXX of XXXX. - on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX the transaction of {$180.00} was successfully charged. - I had never skipped any payment during my first year since I had got the vehicle. - There was more than sufficient funds available in my afore mentioned bank account. - For the next two months, I was not charged for my vehicle. - Around XX/XX/XXXX, I observed that my payments were not deducted from my account for the last two months. - Upon inquiry I was told by the collection department that they have no knowledge of what had happened. The assured me that someone will call me within 24 hours. - Nobody contacted me from customer service. Upon calling, they told me that I had requested not to call me. It was strange because the collection department told me earlier that someone will get in touch with me. - I asked them to go ahead and charge my same account for two outstanding and one upcoming lease installments. But they refused and said that I will have to remit these transactions to them instead. - I wondered why and upon inquiry I was told that I had defaulted for two months and that my case was given to collection department. - I asked them as to why I was not informed by mail or email and do they have any proof that I had lapsed on the said discrepancy for which they had no response. - I told them that I am not going to pay any surcharges as it was not my fault. They do not have any proof that there was insufficient funds in my account. I have the online bank statement to attest it. - They agreed and waived off the penalties. I also intimated them to not report this to credit because it was incorrect and that there was a technical systems error on your part and that I had not lapsed in payments from my side. - I was assured that if might reflect initially because the outstanding payment crossed that 60 day mark but that it will be removed from my credit history. - On XX/XX/XXXX I sent Toyota Financial Services the three installments amounting to {$560.00} on XX/XX/XXXX they waived off the penalties amounting to {$20.00} which is reflected in the Toyota Financial Services Statement. - Also my credit history can reflect that I had never missed any payments from any creditor. And that within a year my credit limit has gone from {$1000.00} to more {$50000.00} with a credit score of XXXX with TXXXX, XXXX with XXXX and Fico Score XXXX. - This has been due to my responsible spending habits and ability to furnish my financial obligations in a timely manner. - Upon my dispute with XXXX XXXX I was informed in an ambiguous fashion that the payment was on time. And that the amount disputed are incorrect. - In both cases it is redundant and inaccurate. As there was no failure on my part whatsoever and this conclusion given is rather confusion impeding the rightful course of action.

Complaint: I took out my loan in XXXX. I continuously pay more than the balance owed. instead of applying the additional money to principal they apply to future payments forcing me to pay them interest. The only option to apply to principal is difficult. I believe that this to to force me to continue to pay them interest and add to their profits. I feel this is very deceptive and abusive. I feel cheated out of hundreds of dollars. I currently am due for an XX/XX/XXXX. The full year 's worth of payment would have reduced my principal by over {$5000.00}. I continue to be charged interest on this balance.

Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Complaint: I have been in contact with the company on a regular basis due to numerous issues I have encountered while trying to make payments. I was blocked out of my online account and have yet to regain access to it. Every agent I speak to they guarantee it will be back up within 48 hours, but it never is. I was instructed to delete and reset the account and yet nothing. XX/XX/2019 - Spoke with an agent who stated I would receive a phone call from IT to figure out the state of my account and no call was received. XX/XX/2019 - Made a phone payment. According to TFS this payment was never processed. The payment goes through XXXX XXXX, and they recommended I contact my bank. The problem is, this payment never applied to my bank account but all bank information was taken and a confirmation email was sent. XX/XX/2019 - Made another phone payment. Received an email confirmation. XX/XX/2019 - Called in regards to my payment not posting. Agent stated the payment is still processing but on the TFS end the payment is posted on my account but not applied or processed. Problem is that I do not have access to any of this. Agent stated I need to make yet another payment in order to be brought to current but they can not guarantee when the payments will process and if I will be current. I have a problem with continuously handing out various confidential information and not knowing what is happening with my account.

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX, Toyota Financial Services charging {$930.00} after 1 month of end of lease return to dealership. 1 ) At the time of returning the vehicle to dealership, no damages were found after inspection and test drive. The vehicle was returned and a new vehicle was purchased on the same day. 2 ) The dealership did not notify any possible fees on wear and tear as the vehicle was in good condition that they can re-sell. 3 ) Aforementioned procedure was completed on XX/XX/XXXX, and on XX/XX/XXXX Toyota Financial Services charged {$930.00} on previously closed account without any indication on what it was for. We had to call in to find out that they are charging us for wear and tear. 4 ) After 3 attempts to get the file in hand as to what they are charging, the damages they claim to be on us were never present on the vehicle returned, which can only lead to 2 possibilities. 1. The damages were made AFTER the vehicle was returned 2. The damages shown are on a different vehicle There is no logical way to prove that the damages were done by us and thus we dispute this charge, to date, Toyota Financial Services calls us every single day to collect this charge even knowing that we choose to dispute the charge.

Debt collection: Auto debt

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Toyota Financial Services ( TFS ) made an offer ( on a recorded line ) to give my family two months credit ( {$660.00} ) due to the Federal Government " Shutdown '' of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. To wit, my family and I accepted and have awaited the credit ever since. Today, at XXXX PST, Mr. XXXX ( I.D. # XXXX ) of TFS exclaimed that they will not honor this credit as they did not receive a signed note ( which my family and I did not receive in the mail no were we aware that we were to recieve, sign, and return such a Note ) to honor this agreement. Also, I, XXXX XXXX, have been taken off the account as an Authorized Agent on the account, leaving my wife, who speaks English as a second language to somehow negotiate with TFS in these matters. As a XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ; CA # XXXX ), I consider this a " Switch-and-Bait '' tactic by TFS in order to lure my family into a false sense of economic security and not honor the " Government Shutdown '' credit arrangement which they recorded themselves to, '' honor. '' NOTE : TFS probably solicited several consumers with this offer and then withdrew it once their ( TFS 's ) internal quota had been reached. Again, this is likely a, '' Switch-and-Bait '' on a grand, corporate scale.

Confusing or misleading advertising
Complaint: I was told by 2 separate sales people I could get {$1700.00} Cash Bonus on a new leased vehicle that could be used to take care of any negative equity. That was the only reason I went in. Because I knew I was upside down. I like the vehicle, but the salesman said if I wanted to save even more money I should look at the Hybrid Model. I was all for saving money. But he never told me that vehicle didn't qualify for the Cash Bonus, or that XXXX XXXX rolled in {$2100.00} of negative equity. I never would of bought the vehicle. Federal Law https : //www.consumer.ftc.govXXXX Requires that before you sign to finance the purchase of a car, the dealer must give you certain disclosures about the cost of the credit. That was never done. I feel they did the bate and switch. I have been working with the Attorney Generals Office, and they suggested I also file a complaint.
