Complaint: I deposited a check for {$28000.00} into my business checking account at XXXX. The check was made out to my business and a former tenant named XXXX. I signed the check. XXXX did not. The teller XXXX told me he was n't sure if the check might be subjected to " a hold. '' I said that did n't surprise me because of the amount, and I said I was fine with a delay of a week or two. XXXX is helpful teller who tries to please, and he did not indicate that there would be any other problems in getting my money other than a longer than usual wait.
I am in the bank regularly depositing rent checks for my property management business. After a couple weeks I asked XXXX if she had any news on my {$28000.00} that was still listed as " unavailable '' in my account. She said that the bank was waiting to see if XXXX XXXX would pay the check because it only had my signature on it. I called my adjustor, and he said XXXX XXXX would pay it.
I got a letter in the mail asking for me to get XXXX 's signature on an affidavit. I discussed the letter with XXXX the next time I was in the bank and told her I could not get XXXX 's signature. He had abandoned the property and sent a signed cancellation of the XXXX for Deed. She told me she would check into the issue.
XXXX called me and told me that if I could not get XXXX 's signature, then I would get the check back. I said that was fine. She said " a copy of the check will be sent to you. '' I asked if that " copy '' would be a legal check that could be deposited elsewhere. She said yes. I talked to another bank that said they would take the check and deposit the money in my account without XXXX 's signature.
The check was never sent back.
I called my adjustor, and he said he would put a stop payment on the check and issue a new XXXX.
My adjustor called me and said he tried to put a stop payment on the check but could n't because XXXX XXXX had already paid XXXX. I thought this was good news. I called XXXX and told her that TCF had the money from XXXX XXXX, so they could release the hold and make the money available in my account. She said she would check into that.
I got a call back from XXXX saying that they would not release the money to my account, but would send it back to XXXX XXXX. She said they would only do this if XXXX XXXX sent a letter requesting this.
I called my adjustor. He said he would not send a letter requesting TCF to refund the payment. He said I should work with my bank to get the payment that XXXX XXXX sent. He said XXXX XXXX did as promised -- examined the vandalism at my property, offered a claim payout, sent a claim check, and paid the claim funds. XXXX XXXX was done processing this claim.
I called XXXX and told her that XXXX XXXX would not send a letter. She told me the only XXXX options were to get a letter from XXXX XXXX or a signature from XXXX. I told her neither of those options were viable. I told her I had the letter XXXX signed releasing his interest in the property. XXXX referred me to XXXX XXXX and asked me to send her that letter.
I sent the letter to XXXX. I got a call from XXXX saying I was not supposed to contact XXXX. I told her I would wait for a response from XXXX.
The last time I was in the bank I asked to talk to XXXX 's boss.
I talked to XXXX, the branch manager. He told me that the signature from XXXX or the letter from XXXX XXXX were the only XXXX options. I told him those options were n't viable. He referred me to the regional XXXX XXXX.
I called XXXX, and he said I only had XXXX options and he could not help me.
XXXX emailed me back and told me the same thing.
TCF has had my money for more than 6 weeks, though they told me they were waiting for XXXX XXXX to pay them.
All TCF 's employees say they can hold my money indefinitely if I do not satisfy XXXX of their XXXX options. To me, that seems like theft or fraud or both.

Complaint: TCF Bank charged my account an overdraft fee totaling {$180.00} dollars. How can they charge an overdraft fee for each small purchase around {$5.00}. Is it not more reasonable to charge an overdraft fee to your account at midnight if you account is overdraft rather than charging {$35.00} on every small transaction that happened in the day.
While it is a good idea to keep track of your current balance, TCF does not have a customer friendly services online and on their app. For instance, their website is so confusing and asks for multiple secret questions everytime I try to log on.
I have checking accounts with other banks and when I go overdraft in the day, they send a notification to my email, and regardless of how many transactions I charge to my card they do n't charge the overdraft fee of {$35.00} to my account if I make sure I deposit cash into my checking account before the daily deadline around XXXX.
I have to say that TCF Bank representatives were totally eager and indifferent about charging their customer {$84.00} dollars for going overdraft by {$10.00}. I was dismayed by their customer service and how they treat their customers with contempt. I have since closed my checking account with TCF Bank.

Complaint: I have become between 30-45 days late on my auto loan. Gateway one is attempting to collect the debt. I spoke with a supervisor, XXXX XXXX today who told me my only option was to pay {$470.00} today or my account would be out of his hands and reviewed for other action. I offered to make a payment dated for Friday XXXX a mere 3 days later and was told that is unacceptable. XXXX was vague and dismissive regarding what the next action would be.

Complaint: This complaint is regarding a mortgage loan I had with TCF Bank. Due to financial hardship, in XXXX of XX/XX/XXXX I received a loan modification refinance through TCF Bank. During the modification process, I was never informed of the charges of the refinance or what amounts/charges were included on the loan, even thought I asked. The day I signed the refinance modification documents, I was not given any explanation of the charges, only the interest rate and the mortgage monthly payment amount which I was happy with since it was going to be very low compared to what I was previously paying. There was only a few pages that I had to sign, very vague thought.
Since I received my loan modification, I had been making timely monthly payments to TCF Bank, never receiving monthly statements from them or any other type of communication until my loan was sold to XXXX XXXX Servicing on XX/XX/XXXX.
In XXXX, I received a mortgage statement from the new mortgage holder, XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that I owed {$2400.00} in late fees. Apparently TCF Bank had transferred this amount to them when they purchased the loan. I was in shock, very surprised when I saw such amount, why is this coming up now? - more than XXXX years had passed since I got the loan modification and nothing had been mentioned by TCF bank since then, I never received any notification charges from them, so why was this happening now.
Late fees were accrued when I fell behind on my mortgage prior to obtaining my refinance, there should have not been any charges going forward as everything should have been included in the loan amount which according to the loan amount, those late fees were included and waived, at least that 's what I thought.
I have been disputing these fees with XXXX XXXX XXXX and I have also contacted TCF Bank, my previous mortgage holder so they can fix the issue or mistake with XXXX but they have ignored my communication.
I am at a loss and I do n't know what to do. I feel that I was deceived by TCF Bank, they were not honest and straightforward with the refinance and charges and they found an easy way out, sell the loan.

Complaint: This is a new complaint about TCF Bank. Piggy backing complaint XXXX.
As most of the issues from the above complaint have been resolved after about XXXX months of XXXX from TCF Bank, we have repeatedly asked TCF Bank to send corrected statements for this XXXX mortgage account with an amount due and due date. This has not been completed yet and we have spoke to many TCF people. We paid our XXXX XXXX mortgage payment and the clerk said she would send an updated statement XXXX days ago and still no statement. We have asked XXXX in TCF call center in Colorado, XXXX XXXX VP in XXXX TCF, as well as another call to the normal XXXX that we make our payments to and have not received the requested hard copy of our statement.

Talked to a third party about my debt
Complaint: I am not a minor. The bill collector called my parents and told them I was behind on my car and how much I owed. I contacted the company and advised them that they violated my right by calling a number they were previously told not to call and then have out my private financial information. They just did the same thing again. So they have been told multiple time not to call my parents, they still have, and now on two occasions have discussed my personal financial information and debt with them.
