Complaint: I received a letter from TCF National Bank and a questionnaire to be completed in regard to money transferred to another bank. The amount of the funds transferred totaled {$900.00}. They requested from me : " What is the purpose of the transactions? '' " Who are the beneficiaries/originators of the funds? '' " Provide name, physical address, DOB, occupation, and nature of your relationship for the originator/beneficiary of the above mentioned transaction. '' I called TCF to get more info and was told they wanted to get to know their customers better ( I 've been a customer since around XXXX ), t hey want to know where the funds went ( they transferred them to XXXX XXXX at my request ). If I do n't comply, they 'll close my accounts. Told them this is intrusive, that I 'm not doing anything illegal and that I 'm not willing to provide the information. I was told that they have a right to obtain this information due to the Patriot Act. This Act was not mentioned in the letter, or the questionnaire, and was only brought up by TCF at least 10 or 15 mi nutes into the conversation. The person had no section number or any other info regardin g the Patriot Act. TCF state d more than once to me that my accounts would be closed if I do not comply.There also was a deadline to return the completed questionnaire.

Complaint: This falls in line with the previous complaint made and my recent dispute of the solution provided by the lender ( # XXXX XXXX . I received a call on XXXX during which I told the Customer Service person that XXXX has assured me that all future communication from them would be in writing to which her response was " we do n't have a do not call list ''. She pushed for me to give the detail of when the next payment would be made which and the amount which I gave. On XXXX I received another call with this VM " XXXX XXXX I am giving you a call AGAIN, letting you know I still have your file, we only have a limited time to get this matter resolved so it is important that you call me back today. Complaint: I applied for an extension on XXXX XXXX . The company emailed me back and stated they received paperwork. They kept calling me every day up to 5 times a day until I picked up on XXXX XXXX . They stated they needed my payment in order to avoid repossession. I told them I had sent in paperwork for an extension, the agent stated they never received anything and asked me to send again. So, I did. Payment rolls around and I am unable to make a payment over the phone or the website. At this point, they have refused to accept my forms of payment unless I make it through XXXX XXXX which does not exist in XXXX , CA and they will not take payment over the web. They called for 18 days when they were not supposed to and now I am the irresponsible client because I refuse to go out of my way to make a payment. I also have all these late fees that I have been paying and when I ask them where my money is going they do not have a straight answer. My payment is XXXX and I pay XXXX which covers my late fee, but for some reason, I have unpaid late fees. This does n't make any sense to me. I asked them to have a VP or are a manager c all back and I keep getting calls from the agents who say I can speak to their supervisor. They have refused to get me in contact with someone higher up in the company and I even got into an argument with an agent today XX/XX/2017 at XXXX XXXX .

Complaint: This complaint is against Gateway One Lending and Finance. I paid my car loan in full on XX/XX/2017 with a cashiers check. Gateway advised that they would release the lien in three to five days if I paid with a cashiers check. I waited seven days and went to the tag agency only to find nothing had been done. I called gateway that day and was told that they received the payment and should have released the lien. They said they would do it that day and to go back to the tag agency in three days. I went to the tag agency and nothing had been done so I called again. Once again they said they would release the lien and I could get my title. Two days later I called the Florida DMV. The DMV sent me a document showing that the lien has still not been released. This callous disregard by Gateway has cost me three weeks delay in receiving payment for the car I sold since I ca n't deliver the title. I had to purchase the new car in cash since I could not trade in the car without the title. Every time I call Gateway I get the run around and false promises. This is an unfair business practice.

Complaint: I was told I would be charged one amount by a company and the merchant charged me XXXX of dollars more. The bank failed to record my choice to not pay checks that overdraft my account and allowed the transaction to overdraft my account by XXXX. At this time the bank is claiming my account records are archived and require a time consuming search to access the records from opening the account in XX/XX/2016. I entered a dispute for the transaction and the bank failed to request any supporting documents before closing and denying the claim without proper investigation. The bank employees advised me while filing the dispute over the phone that I would need to wait until the merchant responded to see what documents they submitted or if they adjusted the charge to determine what supporting documentation I should submit. After collecting my dispute details and misinforming me on what the process would consist of, I was told three business days after filing the dispute that the claim was closed and the bank " did not need any supporting documentation from me '' to complete my dispute. I am a former employee of this bank and worked in the same department and building as the employees who filed the claim, misinformed me on the process to present my dispute, and denied my claim. This is the corporate headquarters office in XXXX MN and most senior staff have all been employed and working together for 3 or more years thus my relationship with that company is why I believe I am being discriminated against/treated unfairly as the department supervisors and employees are all very " close '' and are aware that I left the company on negative terms with the bank / & same department supervisors who failed to address this dispute fairly according to the terms and conditions on my account and the federal regulations regarding transactions where the consumer used a debit card and was charged incorrectly. I was not given an opportunity to submit documents supporting my dispute during the 3 business day investigation yet when I called customer service to complain I was told I could fax whatever I have to prove the dispute over. In less than 45 minutes after faxing the documents I had immediately available, the reps in the call center where I worked and am alleging that the employees ( supervisors/department leads who are also former co-workers ) intentionally misinformed me and, with foul intent, denied my claim and appeal in 3 business days without ever requesting a statement or documentation from me. Again, I believe this is a personal attack of retaliation against me for ending my work and personal relationships with the staff at the Bank 's location where this incident took place. I was told that I would need to request & submit documentation from the merchant after the merchant responded to my dispute yet I was never given a date for when the documents would be needed and the bank accepted a receipt from the merchant showing an incorrect credit made to my account as sufficient grounds to deny my claim without ever receiving or requesting the documents/proof I have that the transaction is incorrect. I also disputed the credit the merchant made on a second dispute after the first was denied and the appeal denied and at this time, with no request for documentation made, the bank employees who all work in the department in which i believe I am being personally discriminated against has already begun informing me that they intend to deny that claim as well ; with no investigation, essentially. At this time, the bank has not provided me with any written documentation on the Reg E complaint being filed or the outcome. I have only been given verbal updates from the call center in which I used to work and know that the staff may be intentionally acting discriminatory.

Complaint: This is a complaint for Tcf Bank I have never met a group of unorganized individuals. I feel like they are trying to get over on me. I had a debt with them from XX/XX/XXXX I paid the debt off in full in XX/XX/XXXX and in exchange I was promised that they would removed the fraud alert from my name in XXXX and to this day they have not removed it yet. I call them everyday I call the Tcf Bank in XXXX Illinois and they told me to call back I call them back and get told to call back again. This is the worst experience ever. I just want this fraud alert to be removed from name so that I can acquire a new account this has been going on for a few years now. I have proof of the receipt that the debt has been paid in full which I will attach to this complaint. Please resolve this matter.

They called multiple times a day and then they showed up to my mailing address and gave a collection letter to the person that answered the door and told them they had to open it and read. I have verification of that. Then they started calling people and telling them that they were looking for my car. If you can give me an email address I can send you copies of interactions with people that they spoken to where, they say they will rude and nasty..

Complaint: I have been a customer of TCF Bank for over 20 years since their operation as XXXX in my area. Since on line banking was introduced, I have been irritated by the 'order of posting ' the bank uses. I admit I do have issues with a balance and finances are not my strong point, but I count on what I see on my view of my statement that TCF Bank 's website provides customers to see my balance and know if I can spend anything, and yes I know there might be checks that have not come thru yet. My concern is the view I, as the customer, see as far as order of posting and the guidelines the bank/bank employees get to see for the same transactions. I have learned they are two different programs and items are shown posted differently on both programs. I have read the terms and how things are posted, which seems to be the view the bank employees see and from my research does not seem to follow a set rule system in some postings. I am concerned they are not following their rules when posting items and sending transactions thru to processed status. I run a very tight account as I am not rich and often when i know what my balance is I do another transaction knowing I will have the money and somehow the order of processing changes from their end ( from what I have already seen on my view of the account condition ) and then they end up returning an item and charging their fee ( of {$37.00} per transaction that goes wrong ) or an item that goes over balance all of a sudden according to their view and then they pay the item but still charge the fee ( {$37.00} ). I have several times printed my current screen of postings that they show me, only to come back later in the day to see a different order of postings. I have asked various tellers ( at different branches ) numerous times to explain to me why i see one thing and it looks a certain way ( ok and balanced ) and why they see another view. Some of them have gotten so confused over what is going on that I get a half baked answer once they think they figured out what happened. I understand running my account so tight and forgetting about a check that has n't cleared has XXXX up my account a few times, but not to the extent that their view of book keeping has affected my finances. This has been going on longer than customer access to a daily balance statement online, and seriously I could pay off numerous other bills with the money that has been charged by these nefarious posting 'rules ' that seem to favor the bank 's account more often than the customer 's account balance. I have even written the TCF Bank head quarters ( email ) twice and have received no promise to look into anything nor a satisfactory explanation other than suggesting I reread the posting guidelines and/or keep more money in my account. I have also written a ( now forgotten ) national elected official in charge of finance stuff and received no answer. I am constantly irritated by the seemingly sneaky non-transparent practices that TCF Bank uses to maintain balances.
