Complaint: TCF has been charging overdraft fees to my account to overdraw my balance and then charging fees to me for them bringing my account into a negative balance. I am a government worker that has had credit issues in my past and I have been working to rebuild my credit history. Unfortunately I am not in a position to take my business to another bank. A TCF customer service representative even belitted me buy recommending I obtain a prepaid card because that is all I would qualify for. Customers should not be mocked or ridiculed specifically because we choose to complain about a major banking conglomerate defrauding and basically stealing from consumers. I ask that someone investigate the shady business practices performed by TCF Bank.

Complaint: I have been a customer of XXXX bank for over 3 years. Overall the bank has been alright. But periodically money comes up missing from my account. The transaction is debit from a foreign ATM. I live across the street from my bank there really is n't a reason for me to go to a foreign ATM unless there is n't a tcf bank around. This last transaction happened on XXXX XXXX, 2016 at XXXX in the morning at foreign ATM. I swear I was home asleep. If you review all of my ATM withdrawals I am never withdrawing money at that hour. They said the have documents but never provide it. Now the last time it happen about five months ago I got a new card and I did use the same pin number. So this time I changed my pin but I still do n't feel safe but this is the closest bank. I should be able to bank there and feel secure. Something is going on with their debit cards. I ca n't believe I am the only customer experiencing this. I want my money back. The amount is {$100.00}. I know to some that 's a small amount but I work hard and it 's a lot to me. Nobody seems to care. I will have to find another bank.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 between the time of XXXX and XXXX my apt was broken into and some personal documents of mine were stolen. Including one of my debit cards, check books, and other banking info, my social security card, birth certificate and state i.d . When i returned home later that day i noticed a few things out of place but I did not think much of it because that is normal with my XXXX son. However when i woke up the next morning I checked my bank account online and noticed several unauthorized transactions. I then checked my curio cabinet where my personal documents were kept and quickly called my bank to report the items stolen and my made a police report right after. Based on other break ins on the exact same block that I live on the officer determined that someone could have picked the lock off of my door. I recently moved into my apartment so the officer encouraged that i change the locks on my door which i did. While working on getting my new documents is going well, my bank closed my claim and it did not turn out in my favor. Already having to wait for my bank to solve the dispute this crisis has gotten worst because as the holidays approach I dont have access to my funds nor was i reimbursed the funds that was taken from me. On top of that the bank put a consumer hold on my name and now i can not open a new bank account with any bank for up to 5 years. This is bad because I serve for the XXXX and I can not get paid unless I have a direct deposit set up with a bank. Also, it has taken an ugly toll on my reputation. The most frustrating issue I am having is that I was told that i could not talk directly to the dispute department of my bank so I can not speak to the person who handled my claim and determined why the claim was not solved in my favor. When I spoke to a bank representative over the phone he contacted the dispute department, and initially he was told that my claim was closed because " the person who was at the branch performing the unauthorized transactions was identified as me '' when i explained that i could provide proof that the person at the branch could not be me I was then told that the claim was closed because " I was aware that someone had my pin and I did not inform them in a timely manner '' That is also false '' I did not know that my pin ( which was kept on a folded piece of paper in a folder, inside my curio cabinet ) was stolen until XXXX on the day of XX/XX/2016 and i called the bank immidietely. At this point I requested any records the bank has which led them to make such an allegation and asked for the claim to be re-investigated but when i call the bank to check the status to see if they have any new information I dont get anywhere with the agents they tell me to wait until XX/XX/2016 to see how the investigation turns out. Also, I still have not received the records I requested that led to my claim being initially closed nor when I call on the phone they wont tell me when I already submitted in writing that i would like that information. The false allegations make me feel that I am being discriminated against. Maybe because I am young? However it is not fair. I have been a loyal and honest banker with my bank since I started banking 3 years ago and the fact that the claim was not turned in my favor and that a consumer hold was put on my name makes me feel disrespected because i would never do anything to ruin my career as an U.S Veteran. The consumer hold makes me look like a criminal of fraudulent activity and that I am not. I make my living honestly fighting for the freedom of this country.

Complaint: My bank currently has issued me XXXX Overdraft Charges. XXXX of the charges are on Deposits!!!! XXXX of the charges are on amounts that kept my account negative under {$3.00} a total balance of $ XXXX I called and verified this would not be affected because it was under {$3.00} and advised I would be bringing a cash deposit, also told by the employee the cash could be deposited in the ATM and I would still avoid the fee except for the XXXX purchase that put me into overdraft-I have XXXX purchase and XXXX deposits. I should have only XXXX overdraft fee, I should not have XXXX fees. This is very disheartening!!!!

Complaint: This complaint is against gateway One Lending and Finance. I am submitting this complaint because I have been trying to work with this company for quite some time. To make matters short, they have been very troublesome to work with.
In the end I had an agreement with an individual named XXXX XXXX who stated that if I paid off the remainder of a balance that was owed for a vehicle loan I had with them then they would report it on my credit report as paid in full and they would release the pink slip. Besides the fact that I still disagree that i owed money as I made more than 5 years worth of payments on a 5 year loan, I still paid them to get them off my back and get the pink slip.
I check my credit report and the account is not showing up as paid. Furthermore, an individual named XXXX XXXX was treating us disrespectfully. he stated that the pink slip was never sent because they did not have my address on file. I do n't see how they didn ; t have my address since the settlement letter that was given to me had my address on it .... I will forward it to you. Then, when I presented that fact to him, he kept talking over my husband and made some pitiful excuse as to why the pink slip was n't sent and why the address was on the letter and not in their system. I feel like I was lied to in order to get me to pay them. That is coercion. Unfortunately for them I am familiar with the law. XXXX Fair Debt Collection Practices Act states that no one engaged in collection activities which includes original creditors can lie to you in order to collect a debt. If they do not deliver what was promised I will sue them.
That was n't the end of it. He also started insulting us by stating that the account had n't been paid and that our concern seemed petty to him. it is not his place to question his companies policies. It is also not his place to try and belittle us, which he did. They should not treat customers especially ones who paid them this way. He even seemed arrogant when my husband told him he would be filing a complaint against him and said that his manager was unavailable when we asked for him. How convenient.
Again his name is XXXX XXXX and this complaint is as much against him as it is against Gateway One Financing. Please assist me in getting them to do what was promised before I have to sue. They are now holding me hostage with the XXXX.

Complaint: Creditor participated in Unfair Deceptive Abusive Acts or practices ( UDAAP ) by committing a Breach of Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing and a Breach of the of Implied Warranty of Merchantability. Creditor via merchant provided me with a vehicle backed by a loan which was defective and which had serious mechanical problems, and as a result the creditor via its merchants practiced and committed unfair dealings which is a breach of contract and a violation of my consumer rights. I was unable to drive the car and had to park it for over a year as the car was not functional. They therefore violated FDCPA and state Laws. This inputted a high financial burden on me and greatly affected my credit and therefore I will like the violations committed by the creditor to be investigated.
