Complaint: My bank paid out {$5000.00} to someone that I do not write my check for without contact me. I do not have {$5000.00} in the account. The bank left my account in negative of {$1300.00}. I contacted the bank when I found out, I filed police report. I called the bank several time. The case has been over 40 days the bank is not resolving the case. The name of the bank TCF Bank in Minnesota.

Complaint: I have an XXXX XXXX XXXX Pre-paid card. This card allows you to " load '' funds to the card online using your debit card. I have done this for years with my credit union debit card and not had an issue. I am now primarily using TCF Bank as it is more convenient than my credit union, and attempted to " load '' funds to my XXXX XXXX XXXX Pre-paid card. Unfortunately, TCF Bank has chosen to block these transactions " for the safety & security '' of my account ( or so I 'm told ). TCF Bank should not be allowed to block these transactions. My assumption is that these transactions were blocked by TCF Bank because it allows their customers to bypass their fee structure. By loading money to this XXXX XXXX card, I am able to withdraw from thousands of ATM 's nationwide free of charge. With TCF, I am charged {$3.00} if I use an ATM outside of TCF 's network. Additionally, TCF has their own prepaid card. Are these transactions really blocked because they want you to use their card? I was offered an alternative by a phone banker that I could use ACH to transfer funds to my XXXX XXXX card. Unfortunately, this wo n't work for me for XXXX reasons : 1 ) XXXX XXXX XXXX no longer allows transfers using ACH TO my card, only to withdraw from my card. 2 ) If it did, it would take several business days. The whole point of using my debit card is to load the funds so they are available immediately.

Complaint: A charge from XXXX XXXX was incorrectly billed to my account in the amount of {$160.00}. Several other charges came in the same day and TCF has their computer program work so that it processes charges from largest to smallest. This results in TCF being able to charge the most overdraft fees. This resulted in subsequent days items also creating overdrafts. See attachment.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2016, I was informed that TCF National Bank had closed my checking account. This decision was made because, in the words of the branch supervisor and managers, that I forgot to send in a requested Questionnaire that would update my current information. They also claimed that that the questionnaire had nothing to do with the bank, but was requested by the " XXXX. '' Yet the letter that accompanied the form mention nothing about a federal agency, but only TCF policy. I sought help from your agency and from the best of their knowledge they told me that they could n't find any law on file that stated that the federal government would send a questionnaire and suspend my checking account because it was not returned. Furthermore, what I find most offensive is the fact that my assets are now frozen. My funds have not been returned to me, they denied automatic transactions between my creditors, and I ca n't withdraw my money. However, they are allowing deposits into my account despite the account being officially closed. I have been misled by bank managers, been cheated out of my finances, and caused great distress over this incident.

Complaint: TCF overdraft fees. I have accumulated tons of over draft fees due to one day all checks are posted and the next day they are pending. Also, A SMALL CHECK COMES IN FIRST AND SOMEHOW THE LARGER 2nd checks gets paid so an overdraft is charged on the 2nd smaller check. complaint to them do no good and each time there is a new explanation.

( See Attached E-Mail ) He was also told by my husband that we were both Victims of Identity Theft, and had 7 year Extended Fraud Alerts on our Credit Bureau Reports. He was also told no loan could be considered until we were both contacted by any lenders. On XXXX XXXX, 2016 XXXX XXXX confirmed with my husband that we were approved for Financing from lender XXXX XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, 2016 we took delivery of our new vehicle. On XXXX XXXX, 2016 I received a notice of an Adverse Action Credit Notice from Gateway One Lending & Finance for a " Credit Denial ''. It listed my Credit Score from XXXX as XXXX out of XXXX and reason as " Amount owed on accounts is too high ''. This is not only untrue by ridiculous. I was completely unaware Gateway One Lending & Finance was a lender that XXXX XXXX sent my Credit Application for consideration. I was NEVER contacted by Gateway One Lending & Finance Loan Officer, and I was NEVER offered any credit under other terms from Gateway One Lending & Finance. I was contacted by ( XXXX ) other lenders for my Credit Application. Both followed the rules pertaining to my 7 year Extended Fraud Alert on my Credit Bureau Reports with the ( XXXX ) Major Credit Bureaus XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. Neither of the other ( XXXX ) Lenders issued an Adverse Action Credit Notice. I sent a letter requesting the closure with instructions for payment, along with original embossed seal copies of the death certificate and letters testamentary from the court. Complaint: For the past few months, I have been receiving unwanted phone calls from " XXXX '' at Gateway One Lending. If I answer the calls, there is a short pause followed by a recording by " XXXX '' stating that she must contact XXXX XXXX immediately. She leaves the following contact number : XXXX ext XXXX. I am not XXXX XXXX ; nor have I ever know a XXXX XXXX. My wife and I have now returned the call twice. The first time I was told by the representative who answered that she could not find my phone number in her system and that I should answer when the phone rings to tell XXXX ( or whoever is calling ) that I am not XXXX XXXX and request that my number be removed from the files. When I answer the calls, there is not a real person on the line, just a recording by " XXXX ''. Today, my wife returned the call only to be told again the representative answering could not access the files to delete my number. My wife then spoke to a " supervisor '' who could do no better. She did offer to leave a message for her supervisor and promised to have the problem rectified in a day or two. Frankly, I do no believe that will happen so I have decided to report this harassment. My next step will be to contact an attorney in an attempt to sue for the unwanted calls. I am on the " do not call '' registry.

Complaint: I was charged overdraft fees on my TCF checking account. I had XXXX transactions where from my debit card where I had a positive balance. I charged XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ATM withdrawal from my checking account which I had a positive balance at the end. Then the next day. I made a debit card payment for XXXX which overdraft my account. At the time of the overdraft I had a positive balance of XXXX so that should 've left me with a negative balance of around XXXX. But instead the bank processed the large transaction first which resulted in me getting overdrafts on my previous XXXX transactions. Which came to about XXXX in overdrafts. I talked to someone at the bank and they took away XXXX overdraft fees. But that is n't good enough. They also did the same thing again on XXXX/XXXX/16 for XXXX. I would like to see these fees reversed.

Complaint: I started receiving numerous phone calls in XXXX. They left voicemails asking me to call them back but never said why they were calling. When I called them back they told me my payment was missed. I informed them that I had paid my most recent payment. The calls still continued. It got to the point where I started saving their phone numbers into my phone as Spam. Again, they never said WHY they were calling when the left messages. I spoke with a handful of different people and had 4 different names and numbers saved as spam in my phone. In XXXX I received a call again and returned it so that I could put a stop to their phone calls. At this point the representative pulled up my history and explained there was a missed payment from way back in XXXX. ( None of the previous reps had stated this ). At this point I secured a payment date and paid on time. I still received another phone call the very next day from the same rep. Again he left a message without the reason for his call. This is ridiculous, time consuming and quite a headache and I do not understand why they call so much, were uneducated as to why they were calling me, and nobody could explain the back-dated late payment.
