Complaint: XX/XX/19 I received 2 emails from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX one stated a trial deposit has been successful to my XXXX XXXX account which I did not initiate and do not to my knowledge have. I tried to access my account a savings and a CD. I can view past statements but no real time data. I changed my password and verified that the only external account is the original one I set up. I am not able to see current data for today only past statements. The on line chat with a representative was listed as unavailable. When I dial the telephone number of XXXX I receive a message that the number is not in service. I have called the FDIC and the agent stated to call CFP since FDIC does not handle complaints about Synchrony bank.

Complaint: I have an IRA CD and a family trust CD with Synchrony Bank. on XXXX, 2019 I received two emails within 7 minutes of each other that stated that a trial deposit has been successfully made to an amazon creditbuilder account. We do not own this account. When I attempted to reach Synchrony regarding this issue, I got a recording stating that the number was not a working number and it came up as a spam number on my phone. This is a number for synchrony that I have used before. Every number attempted to reach the bank resulted in the same result. I am concerned that money has been removed from either of both of these accounts.

Complaint: I received several emails from Synchrony Bank on XX/XX/19 regarding trial deposits & action required on your application ; I had not opened a new account with them so I was suspicious. I logged into my account & was able to do so but the account balances would not load ( just kept cycling " loading '' ). My co-worker has an account with them as well & the same thing is happening with her account. I called the main number ( XXXX ) but received an automated message saying call back during business hours ( it was during business hours ). I also called the credit card side of the company & was told those emails were sent out " by mistake '' but could not get any additional information.

Complaint: We have a few store cards through MySynchrony consumer cards. We have Old navy and we have Rooms To Go. We recently started receiving notifications for Amazon Cardholder Services. We've never applied or used an Amazon card. I called MySynchrony and they told me that I need to contact Amazon and then Amazon told me to contact the bank. Both said they weren't responsible for telling me the issue even though Amazon hires MS for their store card. They simply said it's " an error '' but refused to explain further. How would MySynchrony send me Amazon card notifications for a card I don't own or use or never applied for? It seems that they may have leaked my data to Amazon. I think that MS doesn't have the appropriate security measures in place to protect my information from bleeding over to other companies they serve. I would like an investigation and reparations for wrongdoing. Thank you!

Complaint: Synchrony Bank, offering a Credit Builder credit card for Amazon.com, sent an email staying theyve made test deposits into my account, but it did not specify which account. I have never set up an account and have no interest in a credit builder account. I attempted to contact Synchrony Bank, but after 30+ minutes on hold ( XXXX XXXX, 2019 ), I was unable to reach anyone. One article, on XXXX, stated theyve reached out and were informed that it was an accident without any compromising info. but I have not been able to independently confirm the accuracy of the story, nor does it explain how they would have gotten my contact information or how they would have known I have an Amazon Prime account.

Complaint: I have 2 legitimate accounts with Synchrony Bank ( an Amazon Prime card and a CareCredit card ). Today, I received 3 emails from Synchrony, one regarding " status of your recent application '' ( I havent applied for a new account ) and and 2 others regarding verification of checking accounts via trial deposits ( I did not attach a new checking or trigger a verification ). Suspecting fraud, I immediately placed fraud alerts with all 3 bureaus and called Synchrony to find out what the application is and have it cancelled. After speaking to a rep, I was told this was regarding an Amazon XXXX XXXX account ( I didnt apply for one ) but that the rep could not review the application or stop it. She transferred me to the department that was supposed to be able to, but it was just an automated system with no way to speak to a person or resolve the issue.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I received three emails from Synchrony Bank, alerting me that deposits had been made to an Amazon Creditbuilder account in my name. While I do have an Amazon Prime account, I do not have an Amazon Creditbuilder account, which is a secured credit card. This account is fraudulent, as I have never applied for one, either. I have spent five hours trying to get in touch with someone at Synchrony Bank to report this potentially fraudulent activity, but their electronic chat feature will not load and each of the four telephone numbers I have attempted to reach has said that they are unable to process my call.

Complaint: I received an email on XX/XX/19 from Synchrony Bank at XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. The email says : A Trial Deposit Has Been Successfully Made to Your Amazon Creditbuilder and Action Required On Your Application. I did not apply for anything. I tried calling Synchrony Bank several times and the calls kept getting dropped. I spoke with the Federal Trade Commission who said they have been receiving calls about the same emails other people are receiving! I need this account closed immediately.

They are from Synchrony Bank stating that a trial deposit has been successfully made to your Amazon creditbuilder account. it came from Synchrony Bank<XXXX> and the content says Note : This email was sent to you by Synchrony Bank, the issuer of your AMAZON CREDITBUILDER Account. You may receive account servicing emails even if you have requested not to receive marketing offers by email for your AMAZON CREDITBUILDER Account. Synchrony Bank is located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Utah, XXXX, XXXX. This is an unmonitored email box. Please do not reply to this email. Head off identity theft before it happens. For more information about identity theft, please visit the Federal Trade Commission 's ( FTC ) consumer website at www.ftc.gov/idtheft/. I do not have a Synchrony bank account nor do I have an amazon credit builder account. I very rarely use my work email unless its for work purposes so this email immediately stood out.

Complaint: Parties involved : PayPal Synchrony Bank ; I did not receive or lose any money, just had several very adverse charges to my credit reports which has significantly impacted my credit score. To whom it may concern. This appears on my credit report at all three credit bureaus and we are in the process of purchasing a home and this has had a major effect on my credit score. I have called and spoken to 5 different people at Synchrony and PayPal with everyone agreeing that this is not an account and I do not have a credit account with you or synchrony. Unfortunately, no-one has been able to stay on the line long enough to follow-through and I have been hung-up on multiple times but the " representative ''. I need a letter stating that this report was sent in error, the customer service person I spoke with on Friday said a letter would be faxed to me at XXX but I have not received the letter.
