Complaint: Synchrony and Amazon clearly have no control over their online system. I understand the emails about their credit repair were a wide spread issue and apparently just a mistake ... But to say we aren't to worry about any data breach is ridiculous. I've had nothing to do with Synchrony for a long time and the fact that they still float my information around with no concern for security is disturbing. If a company profits on citizens info they should be required to protect it and none of them are held accountable. Small fines in the past have not deterred corrupt companies from failing to leak, like a sieve, everything they know about people.

Complaint: I purchase a item with my P.C Richard 's card. I stop using the card but kept paying my bill. When I decided to use my card again it was closed. The manager at P.C Richards explained if the card having been used in a certain amount of time it automatically closes. So he explained that I had to reopen my account and apply again. Which I did and was approved on XX/XX/2019 and my new bill will start on XX/XX/2019. After I purchased my new item I asked the manager about my bill on my old account. He told me that the bill from my old account will be transfer to my new account and my old card was no longer any good and continue paying my bill from the new account which I did. Recently two weekends ago I had received a email stating that I have not paid my bill since XX/XX/2019. I checked my account and it stated that I had no unpaid bill. I couldn't understand why they was saying to me I owed XXXX dollars. After asking multiple questions I figured out they was charging me for two separate accounts. It comes to find out P.C Richards never transfer the old account to the new account. I explained that I didn't know that all along I was still being charged from my old account separately. And that's the only reason why it's late. They are charging me for two separate accounts. I explain I don't have no problem straightening out my old bill but I shouldn't have to pay late fees for something that wasn't my fault. They insist I still had to pay the XXXX dollars even after they acknowledged they mistake that was made. And what bother me must is that it was sent to debt collection agency. Now my credit is tarnished for no reason at all cause I was paying my bill on time and was and still is in good standards with P.C Richards.

You may receive account servicing emails even if you have requested not to receive marketing offers by email for your AMAZON CREDITBUILDER Account. Synchrony Bank is located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Utah, XXXX, USA. This is an unmonitored email box. Please do not reply to this email. Head off identity theft before it happens. For more information about identity theft, please visit the Federal Trade Commission 's ( FTC ) consumer website at www.ftc.gov/idtheft/. The other was a blank email from the same address titled : Action Required on your Application. THE PROBLEM IS, I DO NOT HAVE, NOR DO I WANT, AN AMAZON CREDITBUILDER ( or any other account ) from Synchrony Bank. I attempted to call their customer service, and, after 30+ minutes of waiting, finally reached " XXXX # XXXX '' who first claimed they were sent in error. I asked her when they were going to issue a retraction, and then was told, " Oh, we're researching who sent them '' and then " Oh, they're phishing emails, ignore them. '' IGNORE THEM????? If they're physhing emails, then when is Synchrony going to admit they've had a data breach????? Request your assistance in finding out what's REALLY going on!

Complaint: I have been a card holder of a Banana Republic store credit card through Synchrony Bank since 2009. Recently, my account was changed from a store credit to a Visa credit card by Synchrony Bank without my authorization or my consent. This has resulted in reporting of a new account and new line of credit with the credit bureaus. I raised my concern with this Banana Republic and Synchrony Bank, but no action has been taking. My privacy and credit has been violated by this new account that was opened without my authorization. My credit score was negatively impacted multiple points by this new account being opened without my authorization.

Complaint: I received several emails from Synchrony Bank Amazon Credit Builder account that I did not sign up for saying they made trial deposits in my account for a new card. Also saying action required. I called the company and reported it to them and they said they are receiving several calls regarding this. I am very concerned that my personal information has been leaked because I have had an account with them in the past and currently have a paypal account that they service. Very disturbing and feel it should be looked into.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, at XXXX XXXX EST, I received an unsolicited email purportedly from Synchrony Bank. The subject line was " A Trial Deposit Has Been Successfully Made to Your. The text of the email is blank except for a " Note '' that the email was sent by " Synchrony Bank, the issuer of your Account '' and that I " may receive serving emails even if [ I ] have requested not to receive marketing offers by email for [ my ] Account. '' The Note says that Synchrony is located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX Utah XXXX. The email says that the originating email account is unmonitored so that I should not reply, and includes an identity theft warning with a link to the FTC website. I have never heard of Synchrony Bank and have not opened an account with them. Therefore, I am concerned that the bank or someone else has fraudulently opened an account in my name. I tried calling Synchrony Bank on various numbers listed on their website. Two numbers resulted in error messages. A third resulted in me being placed on hold for 10+ minutes. At XXXX XXXX EST on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a second email from Synchrony with no text and the subject line " Action required on your application. ''

I have notified my credit protection service.

Complaint: My wife and I have several accounts at Synchrony Bank. A short while ago this afternoon, we received several emails indicating that Synchrony had made trial deposits into our " Amazon Credit Builder '' account. We do not have such Amazon accounts. We tried to contact Synchrony, but found tha t : 1 ) calls to their telephone number do not go through 2 ) when they do go through, the automatic system can not verify our identity, either via account number or social security number, and the robot hangs up the call. It is not possible to reach a human. 3 ) the chat function on their web site does not work 4 ) when we log on to their web site, which we did multiple times, the system will not load our accounts. It just says " an error has occurred '' 5 ) th ere is no explanation posted on Synchrony 's web site or social media accounts. Are you able to reach Synchrony on our behalf, and ask them to contact us, and advise us what is wrong and the status of our account s? Our telephone is XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Please remove this if you publish this complaint ) Thank you!

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, multiple emails were received from Synchrony Bank, the issuer of the Amazon Prime store credit card. These emails contained lines such as : " A Trial Deposit Has Been Successfully Made to Your AMAZON CREDITBUILDER '' " Action required on your application '' In doing a quick search, it appears this happened to thousands of Synchrony Bank customers today. They have not notified customers, and when reached, their phone reps hang up the phone. This appears to be a major breach of some sort, and they are not addressing it appropriately.

Complaint: Received an email from Synchrony financial about an Amazon credit builder card application that i did not apply for. Amazon claims it was an error sent to all accounts but i only received this email on my secondary email account and not the account actually attached to my amazon account. I can not find a working phone number to Synchrony, Ive called 5 different phone numbers and when i get put on hold for an agent it tells me it can not complete the call and hangs up. I just want to ensure it IS a glitch and not someone stealing my information.
