Complaint: onemain financial scammed me when I refinanced a loan with them. My previous loan had unemployment insurance I agreed to so when I refinanced the new loan the loan officer stated you still got the insurance and said we will sign all documents online so we can whisk through them and get you outta here. The whole purpose of refinancing was to try to get extra money and lower payments. Loan officer stated that I could only get {$100.00} but the new payment was lower. After all was done I left the business and was told all documents will be emailed to me. I looked at the documents the next day and realized there was 4 different insurance policies attached to the loan that totaled around {$900.00}. This was never explained to me and knowing that I could have received the money in my pocket instead of being added to my loan. I feel this is an unfair practice and should be reported and let consumers beware.

Complaint: We previously had a vehicle financed and a second refinanced through OneMain Financial when it was under different ownership, and paid off the most recent loan last year. We dealt with the XXXX XXXX office which was a pleasant experience other than driving 110 miles each way for the closing each time. Beginning last month when we first we began applying for a vehicle loan through OneMain Financial, our experience has been one of total frustration! After no response from the XXXX #, I called the XXXX XXXX, NE office and left a message. I eventually called the XXXX XXXX XXXX number again on XX/XX/XXXX and reached XXXX who took a great deal of information for an application, including bank SSN, income, utilities, vehicles currently owned, etc. and quoted an approved loan of {$18000.00} at 21.02 %. I told him we would think about it and let him know. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called OneMain XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX who could not find any record in the system of the application from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I then called the XXXX number and reached XXXX, who needed the same information all over again and quoted an approved secure loan of {$18000.00} for 60 months at {$510.00} per month or an unsecured loan of {$13000.00} at {$360.00} per month for 60 months. I verified with XXXX that we could use the intendedXX/XX/XXXX vehicle as collateral and concluded the conversation at XXXX XXXX. I immediatelly called XXXX at the XXXX XXXX office and she confirmed that the XXXX XXXX office could do the loan or I could complete on-line, just call XXXX XXXX XXXX instead of the XXXX number and give them Branch XXXX. Not hearing anything further, I called the XXXX number on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with XXXX who took all the same application information again and went over documents that would be needed after review from underwriting. He explained that I should receive a call tomorrow with the results from underwriting. XXXX was far more detailed and courteous than anyone else I had spoken with at either the XXXX or XXXX numbers. XXXX is to be commended for his attitude and actions! When I did not hear back from OneMain and having an additional question for XXXX, I called the XXXX number on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX who immediately said XXXX was not in today, so I left a message for him to call me. I called the XXXX number again at XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX, who said she had no idea if XXXX was in today since she was in the Indiana branch and he was in the Arizona branch. Then at XXXX XXXX, I received an email from OneMain saying that I needed to log in and submit additional forms to complete my application and then to call the XXXX number. Hearing nothing further, I called the XXXX number on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX and got to a recording that said the loan had been denied ; still not having been able to ask my additional question, I went through the prompts again and spoke with XXXX, who said that XXXX was not in today, try tomorrow. Thus, I called the XXXX number again on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX who said he would leave a message for XXXX to call me. Today, I again called the XXXX number at XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX XXXX, who claimed that my application had processed out and no one could pull it up. I explained that I had not yet been able to ask my question and asked for his supervisor. After being on hold for six minutes, he transferred me to XXXX in the Customer Care Office instead of his supervisor. XXXX wanted my full Social Security number instead of just the last four ; I again asked for a supervisor. After two minutes, she transferred me to XXXX who again wanted my SSN and date of birth. I told her that I had not received a call back from anyone at OneMain in a week, much less XXXX for whom I had left numerous messages with other people. She said XXXX was not in ( OneMains standard answer ) and started to explain call center operations. I told her I knew call center operations, I was a XXXX XXXX XXXX for 6.5 years, XXXX XXXX XXXX for 4 years, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX/XXXX for 2 years, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX/XXXX for 2.5 years, prior to XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. Even in the early XXXX we could look online to see someones schedule and tell when they would be in and could leave a message for them. If they were going to be out for an extended time, such as vacation or illness, we could certainly offer the customer the choice of leaving a message or helping them. Evidently, OneMains call centers lack this now antiquated technology, which has grown significantly more sophisticated! When I asked for her supervisor, she offered to have someone call me back ; I told her that was unacceptable and I wanted her supervisor and the name and address of OneMains CEO. After being on hold for six minutes, I was connected with XXXX XXXX. In spite of multiple requests, she continued to refuse to provide the name and address of the CEO. I explained how OneMains service has clearly deteriorated and the call center service is a total disgrace. She said that I could go back to the XXXX XXXX office ; I told her that I was told I needed to go online since I am more than 50 miles from XXXX XXXX. She then claimed that XXXX XXXX was 99.36 miles away. I told her that might be the XXXX mileage, but actual mileage was at least 105 miles each way. After multiple additional requests for the CEOs name and address and the federal agency that regulates OneMain, she checked with someone else and continue to refuse to provide the information. Suddenly, I was speaking with a XXXX XXXX, who after a now total of 8 requests for the CEO, gave me the name XXXX XXXX, but continued to refuse to provide his address. Instead, he eventually gave me the address of the Compliance office in XXXX. When I again asked for the federal regulatory agency, he said OneMain was not a bank and was regulated by another entity and started give a list of unrelated names. After 5 requests, XXXX finally admitted that OneMain is regulated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. XXXX eventually hung up on my after saying thank you at XXXX XXXX. After hanging up, I was able to find an XXXX, California address and that OneMains headquarters address is in XXXX, IN. Please correct the absurd total lack of service being provided by OneMains call centers. Please update your technology so representatives can see the schedule of the person a customer is working with and the ability to leave that person a message. Each representative needs a personal number which a customer can use to reach the representative they are working with and avoid the current run around and false excuses. This technology has been available for multiple decades. Please provide me in writing the date by when OneMains call centers multiple deficiencies will be corrected and will start providing customer service.

Complaint: Today, XX/XX/19, XXXX XXXX, Loan Manager from One Main Financial Loan Department called at XXXX to and offered me a loan of {$10000.00}. He emailed a loan agreement, while I was on the line with him, and I was told to reply to the loan that I agreed, as soon as I said I replied, he hung up on me. I tried to call him back at XXXX and he hung up on me several times, and now he won't answer. I replied to him through email that I don't agree to the loan agreement. I called the OneMain Financial- Corporate Headquarters and they said they never offer loans over the phone and nobody by the name of XXXX XXXX works for them. However, the email that was sent has the One Main logo on some of the pages. XXXX XXXX has my personal information, as well as by routing and checking account numbers.

Complaint: onemain I'm filing a complaint on your company for violations Of the FCRA AND THE FDCPA I was viewing my credit report and I noticed some violation reporting on my credit report I have disputed this account with all three credit bureaus and they states that you verified the account But as I review the report from your company I noticed that you didn't enter dispute marks that consumer disputes with out that Information the account can not report fcra 623 you could be fined {$1000.00} per account. So please delete this account from my credit file. violation number two the account is a charge off you are still showing late payments on a charged off account there should be no late payment reporting you could be sued for {$1000.00} for each violation on each credit report. The law is very clear as to the Civil liability and the remedy available to me if you fail to comply with Federal Law. I am a litigious consumer and fully intend on pursuing litigation in this matter to enforce my rights under the FCRA. I have disputed this with the credit reporting agencies and they are not conducting a proper investigation and don't take this as a threat But I have file suit on all three agencies is why I'm disputing with you right Now

Complaint: I obtained a {$5000.00} loan in XXXX in anticipation of having a tax bill and other expenses coming up. The girl that I signed the documents with only had me sign the signature pages and had me skip all of the other pages with the details of the loan to try to get me out of the door as soon as possible. They signed me up for online access to my account, but they did not give me any physical paperwork with an account number, loan amounts, interest rate, etc. I kept getting emails about statements being available, but didn't even have my login information that they set up on my behalf. I finally get logged in today and see that my {$5000.00} loan is listed with a {$5900.00} starting balance. I repeatedly told the girl that I did not want any insurance or any add ons on my loan. Apparently she didn't listen, the statements don't even list an interest rate, and my monthly payment is barely touching the principal on an amount that is not even correct! Complaint: How can an already established customer who always make on-time payments for over a year, start off being approved by the lender up until you actually meet with their representative? This is how ... I contacted them to apply for a loan for an emergency and they told me approximately 24 hours later that I was approved as long as I bring in pretty much the same documents I was required to bring in the last loan I received through them. I brought in the documents and the minute she approached me ( the lending specialist ) I immediately assumed she must've been having a bad day since her attitude, demeanor, and commentary was nothing like what I had experienced while speaking with her on the phone. I attempted to cheer her up by being complimenting but her attitude just continued to get worse. Then she started asking me for whatever documents she can come up with ( e.g, birth certificates, credit card & bank statements ) that had nothing to do with the list of requirements she expressed to me over the phone or nothing similar to the list of documents that I had to bring to them my last closing. It was then that I realized that she was attempting to figure out a way to turn me away for no other reason but my appearance since her attitude was nothing of the sort over the phone. My first loan officer was thorough, friendly, and willing to answer all questions since it was my first loan ever. This different/new One Main rep told me she no longer needed the documents and will get back to me the next morning. The next day she called to informed me that even though I had once been approved they decided to deny me and they will send me a letter with an explanation and she was rude enough to hang right up on me. Weeks later they sent me a letter stating only that I was denied and I would have to make a request in writing if I wanted to know the specific reason for their decision. Over a month later they sent me another letter saying that an application that I had never been given was incomplete. I had done everything I was expected to do, I maintained a great credit history with ONe Main with their extremely high interest rates, I brought in all documents required which included the same employer from the first loan, I even showed up to my appointment when asked and I still got mistreated and told anything. I am attaching both correspondences I received back from One Main regarding this loan.
