Complaint: We previously had a personal loan with One Main Financial for almost a year prior to speaking with them about a car loan. When I called them I specifically said a car loan. They requested information about the vehicle year make model and where it was being purchased. We told them how much money we had to put down and where we wanted our loan payments to be. We were told it was approved with a payment of approximately 220 dollars a month. We picked the check up made out to the car dealership. And signed the paperwork which was mostly on the computer. We were told the accounts would be one payment for convenience. Unfortunately my husband was in an accident with the vehicle and it was considered by our insurance as totalled. I spoke initially with XXXX at the one main office in XXXX Pa. When I asked her direct questions she was unable to answer them and kept saying that's information they give to the insurance company directly. When i pushed her for account info. She reluctantly gave me the payoff info. She told me the pay off amount was XXXX. When I continued to be confused about the amount she finally told me that it wasnt a car loan but a personal loan secured by a title. I immediately began to question this as that's not what we had applied for. She began talking over me and said that I would have to speak to XXXX the manager. I spoke with XXXX today XX/XX/19 and he openly admitted to the confusing terminology of our " car loan ''. While I continued to push I said that I wanted the loans split as they were supposed to have been. He kept trying to give me different scenarios about car loans and I had to keep reminding him that it was not my loan and I had applied for a car loan and not an additional personal loan.

Complaint: Less than 3 weeks ago I first applied for a personal loan with ONEMAIN FINANCIAL and was denied. Approximately 1 1/2 weeks after that denial I received an email from ONEMAIN FINANCIAL soliciting me to request again for a personal loan. I did apply again and received a call from " XXXX '' from ONEMAIN FINANCIAL on or about XX/XX/XXXX and he informed me after asking numerous questions that I was " APPROVED ''. XXXX asked me to submit ( 1 ) Pay Stub ( 2 ) Phot ID ( 3 ) Authorization to release information form. XXXX told me I was approved for {$7200.00} but I told him I only needed {$7000.00}. XXXX told me how much my monthly payment was going to be, interest rate, & the term of the loan ( 60 months XXXX. On or about XX/XX/XXXX I was notified by ONEMAIN ( name of rep unknown - did not write it down ) my loan was denied but the following day XXXX called me and said it wasn't denied but rather it was approved by underwriting but the fraud department of ONEMAIN needed more information. XXXX asked me to provide a copy of a voided check and my W2 from XX/XX/XXXX. I told XXXX that I felt uncomfortable providing so much private information. XXXX told me " your loan is approved don't worry it's that the fraud department needs my information because of my fraud alert on my credit ''. I submitted the documentation XXXX requested and the following day I was conducted by XXXX stating that the fraud department has verified and confirmed all the documentation I provided but needed more. XXXX asked me that I need to provided a copy of my social security card, utility bill, & a copy of my most recent bank statement. I displayed my concern to XXXX regarding feeling uncomfortable providing such private information ( 9 DOCUMENTS IN TOTAL ). XXXX told me " your loan is approved & the fraud department needs this information because of the fraud alert in your credit ''. I emphasized to XXXX that I will only provide additional documentation if he is certain my loan is approved. Without hesitation XXXX stated " It is the only thing holding the funding into your bank account if for the fraud department to have the documentation because it is in the best interest of ONEMAIN to have it because of my fraud alert on my credit report ''. Although I was very hesitant and uncomfortable with the additional documentation being requested of me I told XXXX I will provide this additional information only because he has assured me that the loan was approved. Approximately 3 days later I got a phone call from a ONEMAIN representative telling me my loan was denied ( very unprofessional & rude ).

Complaint: Spoke to a XXXX XXXX who stayed he was from One Main Finical Group stated I was approved for a loan for XXXX. I was instructed because of my credit score that I would Need XXXX ( XXXX ) insurance and that I would need to purchase a card at a store that sold gift cards. When I arrived at the store no XXXX gift cards were available ( as doing research after the fact there arent any ) I was told to purchase XXXX and an XXXX card as XXXX and those companies work together told by XXXX to me. Insurance for the loan amount was {$250.00} XXXX card was purchase for {$200.00} and XXXX XXXX for {$50.00}. After information was exchanged I was told that the state was holding up the transfer and I would need to pay an additional {$1000.00} in taxes payable by the same way. After doing a little research and noticing after looking in the internet that the number I was being called from was not the number in website for One main financial I called number on web and was told it could be a scam as they would never ask for any money up front and I was referred to this site. Numbers that I received call from ( except for one ) or now out of service and other just rings now.

Complaint: OneMain Financial is repeatedly falsely verifying an unauthenticated and unauthorized inquiry on my credit files. I have not received a firm offer of credit for OneMain Financial to be listed as a hard inquiry on my credit files nor did they have a permissible purpose. I have opted out of prescreened offers of credit from lenders who use the credit bureaus years ago. The illegal unauthorized inquiry was performed in XXXX of 2018. In the event OneMain Financial has documents or verifies that this inquiry is accurate, I demand that they verify via Sworn Notarized Affidavits so I can know the person who handled my dispute and to state THAT THE ALLEGED INQUIRY IS IN FACT COMPLIANT AND IS NOT SUBTERFUGE. I want to see the signed authorization form that they used to perform this inquiry. Otherwise, I demand that OneMain Financial remove this inquiry off my credit files. Otherwise, any verification from OneMain Financial will be deemed hearsay and will be admitting that OneMain Financial is intentionally, maliciously and recklessly reporting an illegal, unauthorized and unauthenticated inquiry on my credit files.

Complaint: I have a personal loan and a title loan with One Main. I called a few months back to see about refinancing my signature loan and was given the option to keep my signature loan and add a title loan. I did this. Today I called to see if I could refinance the signature loan and was told My budget was too tight so I was denied. My complaint is how. I refinanced my car with one main saved me XXXX a month. I have never missed or been late on a payment and I am still at the same job. So how was my budget ok to get a title loan but not ok to refinance on the note I have now. The payments would not change.

Complaint: Dear CFBP I am filing a complaint against One Main for failing to correct incorrect credit reporting. I have two accounts with erroneous information reporting, for account number XXXX One Main is reporting late payments in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I have sent letters and even got proof of payment was remitted electronically before the due date from my bank with amounts and dates still One Main has not corrected the error. My second account XXXX is reporting that late payments occurred in XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Again I got my bank to issue proof that payment was remitted electronically before the due date of the XXXX. Still One Main had failed to fix this account. I am requesting that the months in question for both accounts be corrected to paid as agreed immediately for all three credit bureaus. Thanks for you help in this matter, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: I received a phone call on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX from an unknown XXXX number. I received 3 phone calls per day from that number finally on the XX/XX/XXXX approx. XXXX I finally answered the call it turned out that it was One Main calling to " remind '' me that my payment was due '' I said um when is my payment due the rep on the phone said on XX/XX/XXXX. I was a bit annoyed at that point I was like um why have you been calling me 3 days before the due date. Her response over the phone was its just a curiosity call I was like yeah ok no it is not a curiosity call because I have never received a curiosity from One Main. Then I proceed to tell her that you called me 3 times Monday 3 times today till I answered the phone. At this point, I knew that she was busted because she couldn't explain why she was calling me. I said you know what it is perfect timing because I am in a bit of a financial bind at the moment. I explained to her that I purchased a car in XX/XX/XXXX then 2 weeks after the purchased I got hit with a big deduction from my bank account for XXXX dollars from XX/XX/XXXX banking for my mortgage when my previous mortgage payment was XXXX a month. I explained to her if I would have known that my house payment would have gone up I would have not purchased XXXX XXXX XXXX. Turned out that my escrow balance has gone up without any notification. After that has happened it threw my finances out of wack. I also explained that my wife hours got cut where she works at so it has been nothing but a struggle to keep up on things when I am trying to do it all. I have been working side jobs as well to keep up with the bills around the house and keep putting food on the table for my wife and kids my 10 hour working days has gone up to 18 hour working days. I explained that I was not able to make the payment on the due date and the only time that I can make it would be around the week of XX/XX/XXXX she said ok thank you for explaining the situation to me I will put you down for the due date around the week XX/XX/XXXX. I said perfect i don't want to be getting 10k phonecalls from over this and she said you won't. The very next day I received a phone call from a XXXX I received 3 phone calls from that number I ignored the phone call the very next day I received 5 phone calls from that number I ignored it again. on Friday, XX/XX/XXXX I finally answered the phone aprox XXXX after they have called me 4 times. I said Hello the other person on the line said, XXXX? I said yes and she said hi this is XXXX ( I didn't quite catch her name ) from one main how are you. I asked why are you calling me and she said I wanted to know if you were going to make a payment today. I said excuse me you call me 3 days before the due date to ask when I was going to make a payment. She proceeds to say well it's 2 days late I told her that I have already talked to a representative about this and I am currently on duty right now I have explained that to the rep that I previously talked to about this please don't call me while I am on duty because I work at a federal hospital and my duty is to these veterans from XXXX-XXXX XXXX not to be accepting personal phone calls unless it is an emergency from my wife or kids. 20 minutes after i have gotten off the with One main another phone call comes again from them which I ignored. every day Monday thru Friday I will receive up to 5 phone calls from one main at the XXXX area code and the other at their XXXX area code at least an additional 5 more times. I have answered the phone several times over these occasions and explained I am on duty please do not get a hold of me while i am on duty I have stated I will make the payment around the XX/XX/XXXX multiple and multiple times. the total of times that one main has called me combined from both numbers since anywhere from 145-160 times. I have wished that I would have never met a bunch of ignorant people who have no care in the world if someone is in a financial bind and continue to harass the hard-working people that they charge outrageous interest rates on people who work their asses off to build credit, to build a better future for their family, their kids. Like myself who went from 10 hour working days to 18 hour working days to provide for my family and to keep the bills paid and some ignorant asshat who can not be patient wait a few weeks but instead they decided to disrupted my work life while I am taking care of our country veterans.

Complaint: On the XXXX of XXXX, I received a pre-qualification letter so I applied. The website said it would not effect my credit score, but as soon as I pressed submit, I got an alert that my credit had dropped from a hard inquiry. I called the company and they said stuff that made no sense. I feel that the website was deceitful in their wording. They transferred me to the credit reporting department and said I needed to send in a dispute. I dont feel like I should have to jump through hoops for something that shouldnt have happened in the first place. I feel like the company used deceptive practices in order for people to apply for their loans.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I received an email from one main financial stating I could borrow an additional XXXX. I currently have a loan with them that I have been paying on for 2 years or so with no late payments. Before I could call the number, a customer service representative called me from one main and asked me about applying for additional monies. I provided her with my information and she said since tomorrow is a holiday, you should hear back from them on Friday. Typically it takes about an hour for a decision so if you want to call back in an hour or so you can do that. I did not call back but I received a voicemail stating my loan had been approved and that I needed to call back and schedule a time to come in and sign my papers and close the loan. I called the office back here in XXXX Georgia and the man cleared his throat after I said hello I am returning a call to XXXX. He said this is him. He then verified who I was and then stated, " they could not do anything for me '' .I said " excuse me? you left a message and stated my loan had been approved ''. His response was oh that is protocol. I explained to XXXX they need to be retrained because you should not call and provide false information to customers. He was not receptive to my response and so I knew at that point they were not going to loan me anything ; not even their time. He told me he would look into and call me back. I never received a return call from XXXX. The following week, I spoke with XXXX to get an update and she stated they can't do anything because of my budget. She asked me if I had additional income and I stated yes. She provided me with an email address and I faxed over additional paystubs. She still did not call back and I asked in the email to reply so I will have confirmation that the email was received. I called back and again XXXX stated " we can't do anything because of your budget '' and the call ended. I then looked up their corporate office because I wanted to understand exactly why they offered the loan and once I called in, they could no longer offer the loan.
