Complaint: This is in reference to 2 payments made online with Navient. I made a payment of {$160.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and {$27.00} previously. I received email confirmation saying payment was received. A few weeks later I am getting notices saying my payment is late, its going to collections etc. I logged on to find that Navient had reversed my payments. No explanation why. Upon research I discovered that many people are experiencing this. This morning I called Navient. Of course theres longer than usual wait times as well as having to make an appointment to speak with someone later in the week. In the past Navient has charged a fee to make a payment over the phone. Also, its unjust that my credit is being affected due to their mishandling of funds.

Complaint: My student loans are in ferbearance which I understand is navients money making way out to help clients. I understand there is/was a large lawsuit against navient 2017 regardig these exact problems. The forbearance ended in XX/XX/XXXX. I had no notification in any form that this was happening. Therefore ended up getting hit with a 90 days past due on my credit. I then called immediately and brought account up to date. However, it was reported on 89 days it was not 90 days. Navients policy is 90 days. It should have been reported in XX/XX/XXXX and it was reported for sept. It was up to date as of XX/XX/XXXX. Please help me!!!

In light of this I sent another email on XX/XX/XXXX, and again got an automated reply but no answer. I'm attempting to learn how I can make sure that payments I make are made toward the principal sum of the loan rather than accrued interest ; this information is time sensitive for me.

Complaint: When I was in school for my XXXX to pursue for bachelor of XXXX degree, my student loan company ( navient ) put me into forebearance but I was accumulating interest of 11.6 % total interest on my two loans together. One loan unsubsized with 5.87 % and other loan subsidized with 5.87 %. When I called navient for public loan forgiveness, they told me I had to work 20 hours a week and make monthly payment. It was very misleading as to how to stay on track for public loan forgiveness while working in XXXX as a XXXX for the past four years ( XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX ). Then, I called them last year to ask about public loan forgiveness eligibility criteria, they told me I have to work 10 years of full time in non-profit organization ( XXXX ) and not being in school status, before I apply for public loan forgiveness on my student loans. I didn't know that before I called them. I kept track of every single payment since I started working at XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I felt I'm being deceived by navient and not fully understand of what I need to remain eligible for public loan forgiveness on my remaining student loan principle balance. I'm not satisfied with Navient at all. After graduating from XXXX school in XX/XX/XXXX, I currently have been paying anywhere from {$100.00} to {$1000.00} a month for student loan. I do not believe navient student loan company properly allocate my student loan payment online. I was paying more and more but my principal balance doesn't seem go down as it should. I have been mislead and so frustrated of being with Navient.

Complaint: I have since refinance my loan but not after lots of headaches. I was going to a for profit school in California and it was pretty much sign this loan or not go to school. The lagoon of {$12000.00} I believe was a private loan handled by Sallie Mae ( XX/XX/XXXX fall ) at an wrongdoing of 12 % + interest. By the time I graduated XX/XX/XXXX spring was tone to pay back my loans. I was suggested into forbearance for my private lagoon because three was no way to lessen my payment for private. {$500.00} a month in student loans making {$10.00} hr.

Complaint: I graduated during the financial crisis in XX/XX/XXXX. Couldn't find a full time job until XX/XX/XXXX when my monthly salary was less than $ 30k and Sallie Mae asked me to make my first payment of {$1600.00} towards my student loan which at the time was impossible, it still is even though I make a decent salary. Over the years I have worked with the lender to help lower my payments by extending the life of the loan, sometimes having to forebear, etc. I've worked with them as much as I could and currently making monthly payments at around {$1300.00}. No matter how hard I tried to keep up I couldn't. WIth the majority of my income going towards my student loans I fell into credit card debt to survive. I just did an analysis of my Navient Student loan payments and discovered that. 1. I made $ XXXX in payments since XX/XX/XXXX 2. Only 10 % or $ XXXX of that went towards my principal balance 3. I still have $ XXXX in student loan debt. This means if it takes $ XXXX out of my pocket to pay off $ XXXX in principal balance, then I'll be paying XXXX XXXX overtime to pay off my loans ... SEND HELP. I've attached all my payment history for reference.

Complaint: I have consolidated loans with the loan servicer Navient. I am a teacher and applied for Federal Teacher Loan forgiveness this past summer. I was denied even though I met all the qualifications and submitted proper paperwork. It has now come to my attention that Navient was involved in bad practices that made it impossible for teachers and other public service providers to be eligible for these loan repayments. They put their needs and desire for extra fees above those of their clients.

Complaint: My first student loan began in XXXX while attending XXXXXXXX XXXX College. After 2 years, I transferred to XXXX XXXX University. Sallie Mae began servicing all of my loans ( including those previously owned by them ) in XXXX. Since XXXX, I have been perpetually under-employed. Throughout the course of my " career '', I have barely been able to make any payments on my loan. This becomes important to the story since the XXXX began in XXXX. Since XXXX, Sallie Mae and Navient employees have been purposely steering me away from repayment products which I qualify for that would have helped me to ultimately have my loans forgiven. I have been an employee of a 501 ( c ) 3 nonprofit organization since XXXX. This first time that any agent of Navient ever asked me if I was employed by a " public service '' was in XXXX. In other words, Sallie Mae/Navient intentionally did not tell me about the Income Based Repayment Plan nor the Public Service Forgiveness options to reduce and forgive my student loans. They consistently put me in forbearance. They rarely signed me up for deferment and as a result my balance on loans that began as {$21000.00} increased to {$34000.00} in XXXX, an now is {$56000.00} today. Had I been given the information to consolidate my loans to a Direct Loan in XXXX or XXXX so that I could then apply for Public Service Forgiveness, I would no longer have a student loan. Or, I would be 11 years into the IBR versus 2 years. Sallie Mae/Navient committed fraud against me. Even today, the first customer service representative I spoke with at Navient gave me the wrong information and told me that I did not qualify for loan forgiveness. He then corrected himself twice during our 30+ minute conversation. I have asked that the recording of that conversation and the conversation with his manager be pulled

Complaint: I was advised SallieMae loan company by my school in XX/XX/2016. The company never went into details on repayment options and promised low interest fees. I was told that I was given a " low interest of 9 % '' for my loan. When i made my first payment I was told that i would be only paying a monthly interest fee of about $ XXXX and after almost a year of making the monthly interest fee, I noticed on my account the scheduled fee per month is {$260.00}. For the past year, I have been desperately trying to make $ 300-500 payments to avoid damaging my credit. I have never been given straight forward information about my monthly fee and my balance has not really decreased very much. Their interest rates are insanity. I still am unclear about my loan repayment plan and yet need answers.
