Complaint: Have called Navient trying to lower payment from XXXX a month to a lower payment due to illness. Every time we call we get a different story and the final call the rep very rudely said they could not do anything and hung up. This has been going on for over a month. I am the borrowers Mom. I refinanced these loans with Navient XX/XX/17 with my daughters permission. She added me as a co-signer and I have been making the monthly payment for 15 months. They did send me the promissory note I am listed as a co-signer but never sent it to me for an electronic signature thus my daughters signature is the only one listed. I believe they never sent it to me to sign. All we want is the payment reduced temporarily until I am able to return to work after my illness. This is extremely frustrating and stressful. After at least 5 calls with different answers, asked to speak to a manager and they would not and hung up. This is very upsetting and I.m hoping you may be able to help. I as well as my daughter have excellent credit and do not want to jeopardize this by not being able to make the payment. Thank you

Complaint: I've ( XXXX veteran of foreign wars ) worked in XXXX in XXXX and XXXX and XXXX. The schools accredited or not, have refused to sign the student loan forgiveness letter provided by Navient. Navient requires the school finance officer to sign the document. However, what if the school won't sign it due to workplace issues or even forced labor? I was XXXX five subjects at XXXX XXXX. Also, one year of XXXX in XXXX is equal to XXXX five years in American hardship schools and location. I have XXXX here for five years resulting in my inability to pay my student loans. XXXX in XXXX as a military veteran, a mentor in the classroom, is almost priceless. I would like XXXX $ forgiveness for every 3 months employed as a XXXX in a third world country. Technically, the schools can force foreign migrant XXXX, even American veterans, to work illegally by not providing a work permit or even outpatient health insurance. I am at greater risk here than when I served in XXXX! Indeed, I do not get hazard duty pay. My competition for XXXX jobs comes from the XXXX XXXX who comes here to XXXX almost for free on year contracts. This makes it harder for me to maintain full time positions without allowing for modern day slavery.

Complaint: I attempted to consolidate my loans to be placed on a different payment plan in order to lower my monthly payment amount. After being told different information by 3 different customer service employees when I called, I finally got the ball rolling in XXXX. I was told that I would HAVE to be placed on forbearance for the month of XXXX to give them time to process the request and that my next payment wouldn't be due until XXXX. I asked the person on the phone MULTIPLE times to confirm that I would NOT have a payment due in XXXX. I received documentation from Navient stating that my forbearance was approved and my next payment wasn't until XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I log onto my account to find that it says I have 2 past due payments. When I called customer service I was told that I was never placed on forbearance. In order to make my account current, I had to be placed on forbearance for this month and my next payment will be due in XXXX ( hopefully ). I keep getting wrong information and Navient is not doing their job. Had I not checked my account, this could have severely impacted my credit. Not to mention it is extending how long I have to pay off my loans, which is adding more interest. Because of their mistake.

Complaint: I wish to be identified as someone who has been harmed by the management practices of Navient. Many times, it was suggested to place my account in forbearance - they did not explain that forbearance would run out and that it would negatively affect my credit rating. When they placed my account in forbearance they would make it effective the day after my payment due date to ensure that my credit rating showed I was late paying. I have tried to ask Navient multiple times to take care of the fraudulent credit reporting and they have refused. This has affected my ability to get loans and employment. Overall, Navient 's responsibility to inform their customers on the loan repayment process is terrible.

Complaint: I took out a private student loan with XXXXXXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX to attend the University XXXX XXXX. I've been in school on and off part time to full time since that time and have been in and out of in-school deferment with that loan. It was recently sold to Navient in XX/XX/XXXX when I was enrolled full-time and was in an in-school deferment. In XXXX, I was informed I would no longer be in deferment for that loan since I was not enrolled in classes over the summer and contacted Navient. They informed me my only option to avoid repaying my loan was to go into forbearance for the loan for three months until I started school. I was told I could go back into in-school deferment at that time. From XX/XX/XXXX, until XX/XX/XXXX, I was in forbearance. A payment was billed to me at the time and I started school again full-time on XX/XX/XXXX. My loan still hadn't been put into in-school deferment as of XX/XX/XXXX, so I contacted Navient and they verified I was in school and applied for an in-school deferment. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an e-mail stating I was not eligible for deferment with no reason given. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Navient again and spoke with a specialist who informed me my deferment time had expired in XX/XX/XXXX. This is misinformation as I was told the only option I had in XXXX was to go into forbearance. Deferment should not have expired if I was forbearance or I should have been told deferment was an option.

Complaint: In XXXX, I was unemployed and self employed. I attempted to forebear some of my payments and Navient would not allow it. I filled out hardship and forbearance requests and was denied. In XXXX, received Loan Repayment Assistance from my former employer. The company would not let me make payments on defaulted Loan to avoid negative credit reporting. I have paid off one of my private loans in XXXX but was not allowed to make payments on the defaulted loan. The loan has since been charged off.

Complaint: Hello, When I was in college I took out both Federal and Student loans as students often do. Both loans were originally supposed to be for 10 years. As I drew closer to the 10 year mark ( after deferring for 2 years, graduated in 2004 ), I noticed that the Federal Loan wasn't on pace to end with the private loan. I requested proof in writing that I had agreed to extend or consolidate my loan and was provide with a document with numbers as my signature. I never once was approached about extending my loan nor would I have. Of my two loans, the Federal was the cheaper of the two. They extended the loan another 5 years. It's another 5 years of paying more interest which I didn't want to however was not in the financial position to pay outright. This is 100 % unfair and I really didn't know who to turn to and complain. I saw that some teachers union out in California is suing and it brought everything back up again mentally. Have you had any other complaints about the same? I look forward to hearing from you.

Complaint: I have had numerous issues with Navient Private Student Loan Dept in the past. I was on an interest only program but was unaware that it had expired. I answered one of their calls from Ms. '' XXXX '' on XX/XX/18 at approx XXXX. I explained to her that I could not make the full payments but would like to be on a modified payment program. I explained that my mom had passed and I was left with all the household bills and even had to get a vehicle in my name. She was polite at first and said she would try to help me. That changed very quickly as she begun to ask me extremely personal questions about some of my debts and personal accounts. She told me I had no right to get a car loan when I had a responsibility to Navient and that should be my priority. She asked me why didn't I have a better job and suggested I wasted my education. She asked what kind of things were on my credit cards and named some of them for me. I quickly realized that she had pulled my credit report without my permission. I finally asked them to not contact me by phone but they continue to. I later confirmed that this is standard practice and was told they don't have to ask for my permission.
