Complaint: I was given misinformation about my repayment options and directed into forbearance even when there were other options available to me and going into forbearance would have hurt me on my path toward public service loan forgiveness. Also, the loan servicer I spoke with was not up to date on her knowledge about new programs ( temporary public service loan forgiveness ) and told me I was incorrect and wouldnt transfer me to a different servicer when requested.

Complaint: Navient tries make you pay so much interest so that your principle is never paid. They give inconsistent information and each customer representative you speak to gives you different answers. They attempt to make you pay more than half your paycheck and say they can do nothing else, even when you are reaching out to them to make payments. They tie you in and threaten you with lawsuits when you are trying to set up a payment plan. Interests rates are really high and they report to the credit bureau and will not take off Mark 's they made which are incorrect even when your account is currently up to date. Proper loan education or information was not given at the time loans were taken out. Navient makes it so you can pay high payments each month and your loan will still never be done.

Complaint: Did a dispute through the 3 credit reporting agencies, came back verified. I then contacted the furnisher by telephone who advised me they did not have any accounts in my name and not only that they are not furnishing any information to any of the 3 bureaus. Once off the phone a few days later they followed up with a letter to confirm what was told to me through on the phone. Once i received the letter i sent the letter sent to me by the furnisher along with another dispute against these accounts, and once again it came back verified. I have been trying to fix this issue for almost 3 years to no avail. On some of the accounts they even say disputed in BK. I disputed this inaccurate information multiple times as student loans can not be included in BK 's. Still will not remove or update and still being reported as verified to date.

Complaint: Without my authorization, Navient student loan servicing along with their contracted collection agency XXXX XXXX XXXX attempted a cash advance in the amount over 5,000.00 from my credit card. One week ago, I had authorized a one time credit card purchase in that same amount. It was declined by my credit card company because Navient/XXXX was attempting a cash advance. I would have incurred significant cash advance fees along with a much higher interest rate for cash advance transaction. I refused the cash advance and my credit card company acknowledged. Without my authorization, on week later Navient/XXXX submitted a cash advance in the same amount which my credit card company flagged as fraud. Now, I must have my credit card changed out.

Keep getting calls about your loan
Complaint: Ive been receiving calls from. Robot for 4 years now. Sometimes 4-5 times a day. Stating that they can help me with my student loan. I dont have a student loan!! I paid it off in full, cash over 4 years ago!!! I ask people to stop calling me and to take me off their mailing list bc I DONT HAVE a STUDENT LOANS ( of its a human ). Most of the time it is recordings or Robots calling. I block them each time but they just call back and few hours later from a diff number. I cant even pick up unknown numbers anymore and that affects my business. It is a Crime if they call me ever again after I tell them to stop once. My Mother keeps telling me to call my Atty Ge earl and report them.

Complaint: I started teaching at a public school in XX/XX/XXXX. My student loans were consolidated in XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX. I was told then ( in XX/XX/XXXX ) that my best course of action was to consolidate to a Smart Loan. Then, XXXX changed ( or my loan was bought out by ) Navient. I asked Navient if I was qualified through my Smart consolidation for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. They said they thought so, and that I just needed to continue working at the XXXX where I ( still currently ) am working, and I needed to make 120 payments. In XX/XX/XXXX ( when I had made 120 payments ) I started ( what I thought ) was the process of applying for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. It took me six months ( and two months of deferment in which my loan was still collecting interest while I was told to complete a DIRECT consolidation ) for me to find out that my loan was NEVER going to qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Plan because A. It needed to be Directly Consolidated to begin with, B. I would have had to file my taxes individually once I had gotten married. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with a representative from the current loan company I've been shuffled to ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and they STIILL told me I would qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Plan after another 120 ( ten more years worth of payments ) ; which is ALSO NOT TRUE and I blindly would have accumulated nearly {$40000.00} in interest for another 120 payments if a financial planner hadn't caught this and told me I won't qualify now or in 10 years. I started with {$46000.00} of Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Student Loans and still have {$37000.00}. to go. I wish I had all of this information before I started XXXX.

Complaint: I signed up with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. My payments have always been automatically withdrawn from my account. However, in XX/XX/XXXX I noticed the payments stopped coming out. I tried to contact the company and found that the number wasn't in service. Then I found out that Navient reported to XXXX XXXX that I was delinquent on payments. I was never contact by anyone from either company. After researching with XXXX XXXX I learned that is because XXXX XXXX XXXX changed my contact information to their company in XXXX, TX. I am still researching the multiple TX addresses listed on my credit report. Navient then turned over the loan to the US Department of Education for non-payment. I have now set up a payment plan with them, but the negative affect to my credit has lowered my score to XXXX. My loans also went from {$35000.00} to {$42000.00}. They took advantage of the fact that I have been in survival mode for years. Between losing a job, dealing with my daughter 's father 's XXXX, then his death ... I had to declare bankruptcy, just barely making it yet still paying what I thought was a legitimate company. Come to find out they have taken money, raised my debt, and further destroyed my credit. As I started research I learned that XXXX XXXX XXXX is being sued and investigated as is Navient. I don't know where to go from here.

Complaint: I attended the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, PA earning a XXXX Degree in XXXX XXXX and graduating in 2012. I have learned since then that the school is now closed and I am filing a separate complaint. When my loans became due in XXXX of that year, my parents and I tried to reduce the payments. I was facing a total of {$160000.00} plus in debt. On many occasions, they had us in tears and were not willing to work with us. We started paying the extremely unfair monthly payment but as life goes, our financial situation had changed. We tried to lower the payments again, but were unsuccessful. My parents got an attorney involved to see if he could work something out, but they refused to talk to him. My balance has since been turned over to collections. Navient has addressed the 2 loans that my mom co-signed, but I need Navient to work with me on trying to come up with a reasonable payment, reducing interest rates and waiving past due fees and interest. I dont own anything, my credit is shot and as it is now I barely make enough to live. I need Navient to work with me to hopefully come up with a fair payment. Depending on how this goes, it could mean my marriage which is already financially strained. Thank you.

Complaint: I have a loan with DEPT OF ED/NAVIENT. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and DEPT OF ED/NAVIENT with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XXXX 2018.

Complaint: In 2006, I applied for a student loan of {$5000.00} ( for one semester ) at XXXX. I had to do the same the next semester for another {$5000.00}. Sallie Mae picked up the loan and when repayment was due, they wanted $ XXXX monthly. I work in retail and when you have a vehicle note and rent, that's just not possible. I spoke with Sallie Mae on many different occassion and was told my only option was forebarence or deferment. So, I did that because I couldn't afford the $ XXXX monthly. About 4 years ago, Sallie Mae sold my loan to Navient. Same story here, $ 300-400 monthly. Finally, after digging around on their website, I found that I could apply for Income Based Repayment. My notes were supposed to be around {$50.00} for each loan ( 2 ), totaling $ XXXX monthly. I have faithfully paid that for about 3 years. Then suddenly my unsubsized loan has jumped to {$94.00} a month with no explanation. My balance has not moved and I now owe over {$15000.00} because of interest and the forbearance and deferements that I was told I needed to use because I could not pay the $ XXXX monthly. All of my info has been transferred from the FSA website with my tax info included. I have paid thousands to Sallie Mae and Navient, only to still owe more than my original loan.

Complaint: Good Evening... I am XXXX grad- student at XXXX XXXX University of the year XXXX. There had been a garnishment put on my student loan by the company NAVIENT IN XXXX. They are taking out XXXX then and now.. The amount of the loan has been met. But the company refuses to let go of returning money overdrawn now.. This amount is XXXX. The amount of my social security that I get now is XXXX the amount of increase for the new year allows me to receive now, XXXX This is the amount that is suppose to be going into the account, but is not.. The Department Of Education is garnishing XXXX still.. I tried to go into the social security office to tell them that the garnishment was still being taken.. they put it under investigation in XXXX It was found from there treasury commission office that they were at fault and needed to cease the garnishment.. But they never did.. My bank whee my deposit goes thru says that the money is being taken after it leaves the social security office.. So, please help me with this issue.. This garnishment has been taking place for over XXXXyears..HELP!!!!!

Complaint: For over a 5 year period I've been making payments on a student loan that I'm unaware if the payments are credited to the outstanding balance. Also, on several occasions I requested statements of the balance, however, I received no documentation stating an accurate account of interest, balance and terms. My loan was sold to Navient, when I was employed as a school teacher and I was in a forgiveness program ; however, after my loan was sold, the loan was no longer recognized in the program, the interest and debt owed, was increased to the original amount.

Complaint: I was encouraged by Sallie Mae to defer payments after school after I graduated in 2005. I started making payments approximately a year later as I was instructed to do so. In that time my loan went from approximately {$80000.00} to {$100000.00}. I am never notified of the interest rate changes before they change. I have paid almost {$75000.00} to the Sallie Mae and now Navient ( Sallie Mae sold my loan to Navient ) and my balance is over {$75000.00}. It just does not add up. I am going to refinance my loan with XXXX to a fixed rate b/c payoff date with this loan seems to change. I am so distraught over this and I have never missed a payment. When I call Navient I do not get clear answers and I end up waiting on hold for 20-30 minutes sometimes.
