Complaint: Consumer financial protection bureau I applied for credit to purchase a mattress and bed on XX/XX/XXXX. I was not aware the item I was interested in applying for credit would be sent out. Within the next week I found out that an approved application meant that XXXX would immediately send out the item shown interest. I received a call to make a payment for {$25.00} for processing etc. that call was followed up with an email from XXXX asking for more money. I began calling and disputing asking to stop the shipment. XXXX informed me that there was nothing they could to stop the shipment. I repeatedly called to let XXXX know that I was applying for credit not asking for goods to be sent without my consent. XXXX told me that they would return the bed and mattress. However, the delivery was made within a few days. I was at work when the delivery was made and the bed and mattress were left at my home. Over the next year Ive called and emailed XXXX over 20+ times asking for return labels. Eventually XXXX emailed me and informed me that they sent a XXXX return labels in XX/XX/XXXX. More than a year later! The link to the alleged return labels never worked. They could not be printed or even viewed. I asked for them to be mailed to me because the XXXX link they included in the email did not work. I never received those return labels. I then continued to send pictures of their brand new product still in original shipping packages unopened and never used. My last email was in XX/XX/XXXX asking for return labels to be resent again. My subsequent conversations have been on the phone. However XXXX continues to be unfair as I have made attempt after attempt to return this item. As of XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX has sold a balance to Monterrey Financial and it is showing a balance unpaid, late, and in collections. I have attempted to correct this error. XXXX says they can not speak with me because my account has been sold. XXXX says they can not correct the situation because they can only collect a balance I have to deal with XXXX. This puts me at at unfair disadvantage to the companies who are very hard to reach and even understand. There is a language barrier with 85 % of the customer service representatives. The hold time and time needed to speak with a supervisor is seldomly under 30 minutes.

Complaint: In mid XX/XX/2017 I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX to look at puppies. The lady at the counter told me I could finance the puppy. I applied at XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. When I applied for XXXX XXXX XXXX I was told I could take the dog same day. I paid a {$300.00} deposit over three weeks and was told the purchase price of the puppy was {$3000.00}. I have since lost my paperwork when my home flooded due to Hurricane Harvey. I applied online to finance the dog and was approved. I was told my payment would be due in XXXX. It was my understanding that I was getting a loan for the purchase price of the puppy. I would have never agreed to pay {$6500.00} for a dog. The amount of {$6500.00} never presented itself with anything I signed, viewed or agreed to when purchasing this animal. In addition, the dog has had to have XXXX, and has fell ill twice ; once within the first week of getting the puppy. Had I known someone expected me to pay {$6500.00} for this puppy, I would have never left the store with the puppy and/or I would have returned it immediately.

Complaint: The balance I owed them as of XXXX XXXX was XXXX, by this date they have charged me a total of XXXX $ in fees which they claim I owe them. Their collection fee is XXXX $ and I have been charged almost XXXX $ in interest fees and they continue to charge me those interest fees daily. I am being charged almost a thousand dollars in as little as 6 months and the balance keeps rising daily. I have tried to come up with a settlement with them and they will not take off any fees and continue raising the balance. The balance now is almost what the original loan amount of XXXX was, as if the XXXX $ I already paid doesnt amount to anything. When I originally signed the loan I was not informed of these fees that I would be paying if I defaulted in payments. This can not be legal

I have contacted them many times and informed them of the fraud. The major credit reporting agencies have agreed to remove the account. The account still remains as a negative trade line on my XXXX credit file. This needs to be corrected as Ive received correspondence that they will remove the account and still havent!

Complaint: I made a purchase with XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was paying XXXX directly but they then later sent my account to a finance company to take over payments. I have set up several payment arrangements about this matter and they continue to call me saying that i am past due. I have asked for a copy of my payment history and they are refusing to send me that information. I advised them that I am not authorizing any further payments until I can review the documents. they say that I have 24 hrs I said that it was not enough time and they said 24 hrs or they are going to charge me 35 % more and send me to collections. I did get upset with them on the phone as I am not neglecting anything I am just trying to make sure I am not over paying them. one rep tells me " you do not have the money that 's why you are not paying '' these people are unprofessional and plan to file a number of complaints with DOJ.

Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I purchased a diamond ring from XXXX, I put down XXXX XXXX dollars on that ring and my payments were XXXX a month. I put this account on auto pay. Account number XXXX. I put this account on auto pay. I was never late for more than two years, they sent me a payment book, so on the last payment in my book I made the payment then closed out the account. A month later I recieved a cll from Monterey stating I owed them one more payment at a balloned cost to close out the account. They advised me because it was the last payment I had to pay more to close out the account. I advised them I still have the payment book in my possesion, and I did in fact make the last payment. I tried to settle this account at the payment I had before I closed the account. Monterey advised me they would not except that payment. I did not recieve anything in the mail advising me I had another payment, and I did not recieve anything in the mail about the last payment being larger than the origanal payment of XXXX. I finished paying on this account in XXXX of XXXX. I was never late and I never spoke to Monterey for overr two years until the last payment issue came up.

Complaint: XXXX I signed a consent form with XXXX XXXX/ Monterey Financial Services , XXXX XXXX Loans, not informed of what all this was really truly about. {$57.00} began coming out of my account each month beginning XXXX. -After figuring out that this was fraudulent, I tried to cancel the contract with XXXX XXXX Loans and was informed it was n't possible unless it was 10 days after I signed it. -I have many of emails stating I wanted to hear the voice recordings of where I gave my routing and account number/bank information, I never received such. -I also knew it was fraudulent because someone emailed me asking for my password. Which caused me to call my servicer, because I knew that was not correct. -My servicer informed me that it was fraudulent because this company made up a password and federal student aid account for me to fill out information on my behalf. -I am now doing the work myself, filling out all forms and submitting them myself without any help from anyone. -There is a stop payment on my account so no money will be taken out anymore. -My bank filed a complaint also. -Now I am being harassed with phone calls stating this matter will be given to collections. -but, I am confused of how if this is fraudulent activity.

Complaint: I never checked my credit score, but I was applying for a Mortgage Origination License with the NMLS, and I discovered a derogatory item on my credit history. It is showing that I have an existing account in collections from XXXX XXXX XXXX, stating that I have taken out an unsecured loan that was originally opened on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, totally an amount of {$3900.00}, which now a closed account due to insufficient payments. I have not taken out any type of loans in or around that time it states, and I want to resolve this problem before it affects me anymore. I am not sure if it 's mistaken or identity theft but I tried reaching out to the service. XXXX XXXX XXXX and they said that " my account is no longer accessible '' because they sold my account to another company. I then asked for the company information to who they sold it to or passed it on to and I was told from the person I spoke to that, " He will call me back with a phone number '' so I can reach out to them. I never heard back from this company and called back for a second time and was told the same thing the last time I spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Again, I received no phone call or email. At this point, I am stuck and do n't know what to do and will want additional help to resolve this matter as soon as possible.

Complaint: 2 years ago I saw add on tv and called a number to buy a makeup spray machine that they advertised for {$29.00} plus mail cost of {$20.00} for a total price of {$49.00}. I paid with my debit card, after several days the product got to my home in an open box and the machine looked used. I tried to call customer service to let them know that their product was used product and had no manual on how to use it. but customer service of XXXX made me wait long time, never got a representative, I called several times, with the same result, and I got tired and stopped trying to call them. I left the machine in my house because I did not know what to do with it. I thought, I just did a bad buy and left it there. After 2 years I received a call from Monterrey saying that I owed {$620.00}. I never signed any paper saying that I will buy the machine for more money than the {$49.00} I already. Monterrey is damaging my credit seeking that way to press the consumer into paying with the threat of the credit report. There is thousands of bad reviews of this company because of this fraud that is doing to me and all those other people

I have answered the phone and pressed the # 1 to find out what it is about and the recording continues. They call every day but I have been erasing the messages after my attempts to contact them have n't worked. Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX purchased from XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX date of purchase ) I personally believe the sham starts there as they are the ones that push this company. I understand my credit is not the best and due to that fact XXXX m aware that my interest rate is higher and was told I can pay off early and lose the interest. My loan was initially taken from next step funding and some how I owe the money to monteray financial. There policies and collection protocol is ridiculous. And there customer service and support is non existent. I knew I was going to be paying at least double the sale price which already is border line loan sharing but once you twist up the terms and wording and honestly who reads that stuff. But as it turns out there is no paying off early cause Im actually renting the scooter and will pay a little more than triple the original sale price. But thats not my original gripe. I understand its my fault for not reading the fine print but as I looked online there are hundreds of people with same complaint. So there must be something we can do about this, I already threatened with a law suit and that was the only time I got any consideration. I originally stumbled onto this problem by accicident because XXXX weeks after I bought the scooter is broke down. And repeatedly broke down for about 2 months, I could not get any kind of service or help from XXXX XXXX and I was not going to continue to pay for a broken scooter. I tried next step funding and got no where and then started to get phone calls from XXXX XXXX about 5 Times a day and my fianc as well calling her at work and she isnt even involved, I told them my situation and was told they only gave me a loan and are not responsible for scooter Fair enough I though at the time so I figured I had to balttle with scooter store., I come to find out that I pay a rental fee to them so they are responsible I told them I want to keep my agreement as fraudulent as it is but am not paying fior the time scooter wasnt working I said I will pay for current month once you take old months off,, I guess they just wanted my money cause they agreed and I payed and next month it started all over again and every month since then. And now Im getting bad credit reports. I worked very hard on my credit the past 2 years to repair my childhood damage and Im at a loss here. Please help me

In regards to a collection on my credit profile that I " have NO knowledge of '' The letter is detailed asking for validation of debt ( showing my signature, any stipulations of guarantor statement, last date of charge/activity and or payments ) I do n't even know the name of the original creditor. I received a written response dated XX/XX/XXXX stating I should have requested validation 30 days after I was notified of which I was never notified by XXXX XXXX. They have violated FDCPA and also FCRA to list this disputed and unvalidated alleged debt on my credit profile that I have no knowledge of.

Complaint: I obtained a copy of my credit reports and discovered an account under Monterey Collections pertaining to a collection. I sent my first letter ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) disputing this account and also requesting validation. They responded but did not provide a valid signature. I sent another letter on ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) again requesting validation, however ; again they responded but without a valid signature. According to federal law, XXXX XXXX XXXX is required by federal law to place a " notice of dispute '' on my account within XXXX days of my dispute, which they did not. I also requested validation, made pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Please note that I am requesting " validation '' ; that is competent evidence bearing my signature, showing that I have ( or ever had ) some contractual obligation to pay them. The company sent me some papers showing my name typed in, which is not a signature. Anyone can type a name, so please send me proof of a signature that shows validation. I have retained a copy of their signature and date of receipts, as well as time-stamped copies of my credit reports, showing that they have violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 623 ( a ) ( 3 ) by not placing the disclosure within the required 30-day period. The listed item is entirely inaccurate and incomplete, and represents a very serious error in their reporting. Additionally, they have broken federal law by not placing the notice of dispute onto my credit reports within the time required by law. I am maintaining a careful record of my communications with them for the purpose of filing a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney Generals office, should they continue in their non-compliance of federal laws under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I further remind them that they may be liable for their willful non-compliance, as per FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 3 ) - Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies [ 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ] Duty to provide notice of dispute. If the completeness or accuracy of any information furnished by any person to any consumer reporting agency is disputed to such person by a consumer, the person may not furnish the information to any consumer reporting agency without notice that such information is disputed by the consumer.
