Complaint: monterey collection agency is damaging my credit report with a debt that i do n't owe the company is constantly calling me threatng me and harassing me over the phone when i already have told then that the account that they are trying to collect is no mine. but they insist this company is not respecting the law and they are acting like a mafia by using threats abusive language and adverse tactics to intimidate the people to collect money that the consumer does not owe.

Complaint: I went to finance a puppy for my family. I have fairly good credit and I bought this dog to surprise my children and wife. The pet store recommended a financing company they said was great to use. I applied and was approved, and they said my interest rate was low due to my good credit. I signed the paperwork digitally, and this filled my signature in all over a document and that was where the nightmare began. They sent me a copy of the contract and it said I LEASED this dog and I did n't own it unless I pay it off early in a lump sum of XXXX, or I make 24 payments of {$170.00} and then a final payment of {$260.00} to own the animal ( roughly. ) In the pet store I paid {$170.00} which did n't go towards my financing. <P/>I was told it was a LOAN and that I would own this animal. After looking up the financing companies this pet store recommended to me, I saw that they are all part of one big company called Monterey Financial. All in all after all the payments are said and done I 'll have paid somewhere around {$4300.00}.

Complaint: I have been dealing with horrible collection practices from Monterey Financial services and their harassing practices. they have been threatening to send it to review for collections which would add an additional 35 % to my bill i tried to explain today XXXX / XXXX / 2017 at XXXX XXXX i received the call from the company he was very harassing and was bullying me to the extent of making me feel uncomfortable he kept interrupting me and demanding information as to what the personal matter was as to why I 'm filing for ch. XXXX bankruptcy the personal matter was none of his business but kept trying to bully me into giving him the information. this was so unprofessional and i refuse to be bullied by this company any further.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX , XXXX , I contacted Monterey Collections at XXXX in response to a debt collection notice dated XXXX XXXX , XXXX , from Monterey Collections for their XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account No. XXXX , in the amount of {$1200.00}. The original amount of the debt to XXXX was {$1100.00} from XXXX XXXX , XXXX , and payments were made to XXXX through their website between XXXX XXXX and XXXX of XXXX until the amount was paid off. The collection agent I spoke with was extremely rude to me and refused to let me speak or even finish a sentence. When I told him that I was disputing the debt, and that the original amount of the debt was less than the collection notice, not to mention all the payments, he said that I would have to provide proof of payment to XXXX , rather than him requesting same from the company. I also told him that the collection notice had an incorrect name for me, and he said it did n't matter. Throughout the conversation, he bullied me, would n't let me speak, talked over me, was harassing and ruder than anyone I have ever dealt with over the phone and caused me to be extremely anxious and in emotional distress. He refused to let me talk about the facts or numbers in question and kept saying that he would have to get a copy of the original agreement. Collection agencies should have proof that a debt is actually owed before they start harassing citizens. Also, when a consumer disputes a debt, there should be a professional response from the collection agency, not bullying, condescension, etc.

Complaint: Acquired a merchandise loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of 2016 for { $2000.00}. The merchandise was returned two weeks after purchase, and been trying to get my final balance since the merchandise was return ed. Monterey Financial handles the accounts and are the one reporting on my credit. I 've been back and forward with this company regarding this account, but company is very rude and insist the I pay them a balance of {$5900.00} for merchandise that was returned. I 've even contacted all XXXX credit companies but nothing seems to happen . Monterey Financial refuses to give final balance, and remove account from credit report.

Complaint: The debt that was written off was mine, I had to choose on of the above to continue. I had an account with Monterey Financial that was charged off/written off as of XXXX . After it was written off I now have Monterey collections trying to collect after the account has been written off. Monterey Collections contacted me last week to collect payment I was trying to ask questions but the rep became belligerent I asked if it was possible to collect on an account that had been written off. She went off to tell me that I did n't know what I was talking about, and threatren to pursue further legal actions if I did n't make this payment. I asked about a settlement she told me that she did not have to offer me a settlement the decision was totally up to her. The amount they are trying to collect is {$1300.00} she told me the best She could do as far as a settlement was {$1100.00}.

Complaint: I added an account I had with XXXX XXXX XXXX in my chapter XXXX bankruptcy but they still sent account to a collections agency named Monterey Financial based in California. Monterey Financial contacted me several times to collect the debt even after they received paperwork stating that account was included in bankruptcy. My attorney sent them paperwork and they still sent the account to collections which is affecting my credit report since they were not supposed to have the account in the first place.

The credit company source : XXXX The company reporting : Monterey Collection SV The Payment Status : Collections The status date : XX/XX/2017 The balance : {$800.00} The company address : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX I am a XXXX veteran ( 20 years, 8 months, and 21 days ) with an active security clearance. The myIDcare service provided by the Office of Personnel Management ( OPM ), because their servers were hacked a few years ago. As a result, I was notified my security clearance and personal information was compromise.
The Monterey Collection company did notified me of any attempt to collect a debit. Here 's my list of issues : 1 ) I did not receive a phone call, letter through the mail, or e-mail from Monterey Collection SV to indicate I incurred a debit with their company.
2 ) Monterey Collection SV did not include information regarding the name of the creditor. If there is a creditor, the total amount owe to creditor was not provided.
3 ) Monterey Collection SV did not provide proof of debit e.g., ( loan documents, promissory note, etc. ).
4 ) If the debit is owe to a creditor, why is Monterey Collection SV listed as the originator of the debit.
I am unaware of having a debit in the amount of {$800.00} to Monterey Collection SV. The information provided by XXXX list XXXX as the credit Bureau reporting the information.
In addition, I have been approved for a home mortgage loan through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with a possible close date in either XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/2017. The derogatory information reported to the credit Bureaus could adversely affect my ability to close the home loan. So far ( as of XX/XX/2017 ), the collection item added to XXXX on behalf of Monterey Collection SV has cause my XXXX credit score to decrease XXXX points.

Complaint: This account is reported in to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. The account is being reported to have a derogatory rating which is very troubling to me! I am concerned about my credit because I was recently denied a loan and my existing credit accounts have increased my interest rates. This negative rating has caused me serious financial distress and will continue to cause me financial and emotional distress until this issue is resolved.
