Struggling to pay your loan

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Denied request to lower payments
Complaint: I have tried contacting Hyundai Motor Finance multiple times to inquire about lease termination or lowering monthly payments due to financial hardship, and I have not been able to speak with anyone regarding this matter. Each time I call I speak with someone who informs me they need to transfer me to a different department. While I'm on hold for the transfer the phone call hangs up about 2-3. When I am given a direct line to call for the lease termination department, it just brings me to Hyundai Motor Finance 's main number. This is very frustrating because we need to address our account but can't seem to contact the people to help us.

Billing problem
Complaint: On or around XX/XX/2019 I deposited {$4000.00} in my Kia Finance Lease account to be used for monthly lease payments for the following year ( 12 months ). I transferred the money via an ACH payment from my checking account around that date and informed them that this money ( credit ) was to be used for monthly lease payments. Kia Finance could not figure out what that {$4000.00} was for and continued to draw money for the lease payment from my checking account ( {$330.00} ) instead of using the {$4000.00} credit on my account for payments which I instructed them to do. After realizing they were to XXXX to figure out what that money was for I requested they refund that money back to me. I was informed that they would only issue a check and that it would be 16 days. Four ( 4 ) + weeks have gone by and still have not received my refund. I have called these XXXX and have been told it will take time. Unacceptable.

Problem with additional products or services purchased with the loan
Complaint: I was sold a vehicle that from day 1 had issues. I went into the dealership with specular credit and wasn't giving a choice to select a car. the sales man forced me into the vehicle he selected stating it was the best car for me. the vehicle has issues that are unsafe and can pose a threat not just to me but my family and on the roads as well. the car does this sudden jerking motion when the car is driving or even while idle. the car skips forward and causes your neck to whip lash. this can cause an issue as I can hit the person in front of me unless I have my foot on the brake and emergency break on while at a red light. this I every unsafe for my children and I need this issue resolved as I pay a lot of money on this vehicle and its a car with manufacturing issues when I've tried to speak at the dealer ship they say there's nothing they can do as the car was already sold to me.

Getting a loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Loan

Fraudulent loan
Complaint: The car dealership XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX submitted fraud on my credit application to get me approved with Hyundai Motor Finance. The 2 page credit application they submitted to Hyundai Motor Finance was re done. The credit application that I signed showed XXXX month SSI. They reported a income of XXXX which was fraud. I dont get but XXXX a month. How did they show proof of this XXXX to Hyundai? We have contacted a attorney and will be filing a lawsuit against all parties involved that caused me hardship in the result of having a XXXX. I'm a XXXX injury individual that is a result of a XXXX injury in 1998 .I have been on SSI for almost 3 decades and all I get is XXXX but I have a over payment which my check is XXXX. I didn't go to the dealership looking for a car. I was there with my sister. She was looking for a car. She got denied with XXXX mo. Income. The salesman asked me if I need a car. I said I do but my credit is only a XXXX and I dont get but XXXX a month SSI he said you never know. He took a application on me. Sent me home to get a bank statement and proof of income and a bill. When I returned he said I was approved for a brand new car. My first words were how? He said relax you are approved. This contract is voidable and fraudulent. The dealership put me in predatory loan. Knowing I wouldn't be able to afford the vehicle causing me financial hardship. I went out and got a job to keep the car payments current and on my 3rd day of work I had a XXXX. Stressing about losing the car. I want Hyundai Motor Finance to thoroughly investigate and remove this fraudulent account from all 3 credit bureaus. What XXXX XXXX did to me was unlawful, unethical. I do plan on suing all parties involved. And final where is the proof of the XXXX that the dealership fraudulent reported. Someone at Hyundai Motor Finance in Funding could of possibly assisted the dealership with this fraudulent loan. Because you do have to show pay stubs, letter of award from SSA and bank statements. Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Termination fees or other problem when ending the lease early
Complaint: 2015 XXXX XXXX XXXX is a LEMON!!!! We had problems with this car for several years now, it is a ( 4 ) year lease. It is one thing after another. We had the car in for several issues. One of the issues the dealership could not even fix the problem when we turned the car back in to them. I made a list of all the issues that we are having with the car. On XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we had to replace the battery on it. On XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we had to replace ( 2 ) tires on the car because the tires were bald. On XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we had to replace the other ( 2 ) tires on the car because the tires were bald. We had problems with the car stalling. The dealership could not find anything wrong with the car. ( 1st ) I talked to XXXX about the sound I was hearing when I started the car, like I did the other times I was in with the car. No one heard the sound. She said to make a tape and bring it in so she can hear it and the tech can hear it too. When we had the car serviced several times, I told XXXX about the metal on metal sound. XXXX told the tech to see if he heard anything, but he never did. It is not on any paperwork. She did not note it each time we came in. ( 2nd ) On XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we had a problem with a sound when the car starts. When the car starts it sounds like metal on metal clinking. It does not matter if the car is cold in the morning or anytime of the day. When I start the car, it makes this sound. I made a tape of the sound so XXXX and the tech can hear it. XXXX played the tape several times and played it for tech. He said he had to hear it from the car to tell where it is coming from. The tech could not hear it from the car at this time. ( 3nd ) XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we still having the same problem with the sound when the car is started. When the car starts it sounds like metal on metal clinking. The dealership kept the car overnight. The next day the tech did hear the sound. They tested the alternator and it was bad. They had to replace the alternator on it. Even after the dealership replaced the alternator, I still had the same sound as I did before when I started the car two days later. The replacement of the alternator did not stop the sound. ( 4th ) On XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles on the car, we are still having the same sound when the car is started. It does not matter what time of the day the car is started ; the same sound is still is happening. It sounds like metal on metal clinking. I had another tape for XXXX, she heard the sound and the tech did not. ( 5th ) On XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles on the car. The sound is still happening. The dealership kept the car overnight to see if they can find the issues I am having with the car. XXXX contacted us the next day. The dealership did not hear the issues I heard, but they will repair what they think is the issues with the car. They just went blind on the issues that I was having with the car. They replaced the starter, the fuel level sender and bracket ASSY roll rod replaced trans mount. We got the car back on XX/XX/XXXX. A few days later I was driving the car again and it is still making the same sound, metal on metal. We had another issue with the car since XXXX. I told them about the issue, but they never did anything about it or even investigated it. They just looked at me like I was nuts. The issue is this. When I fill the car up with gas the ( Range for the miles to go ) it does not say the same thing each time. One time it will be 301, 304, 299, 289, or so on. Something is wrong with the Range miles to go. Just the other day, I put gas in the car. I started the car, the Range started at 279 then dropped to 256 before I even left the gas station. The Range keeps dropping while I am driving. In 1 mile I go, it drops 4 miles or more. I am not in heavy traffic. I am not speeding or have anything heavy in the car. I do not even know why this issue happens. When I first had this problem, I had to get a new battery. I had the dealership check the battery for me. The battery was fine. This is happening all the time with the Range issue. On XXXX XXXX the dealership replaced the fuel level sender. I just wish they took me serious before. They could have fixed this before now. Now, as you read this, we had to replace 4 tires by XXXX miles on it. Replaced 1 battery by XXXX miles on it. Replaced 1 alternator by XXXX miles on it. Replaced 1 fuel level sender by XXXX miles on it. Still having the same metal on metal clinking sound when I start the car. This car is a LEMON! We are so afraid when the car is started is will blow up or catch on fire with my Mother or myself inside. Since they can not find a thing wrong with the car. The car is still driving rough. Rougher since we got it back from the dealership. The car is unsafe. My Mom called the XXXX XXXX Company and told them we will be turning the car in because it is unsafe, and it is a LEMON. They sent an Inspector out to check the out. The Inspector from the leasing company came out to inspect the car before we turn the car in. He noticed when he was inspecting the car that it was running rough. He said it should not be having this issue. He popped the hood up and felt the engine. You could see and feel the engine shaking. He made the statement that the engine should not be doing this. We passed the inspection. We turned the car in to XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX. We will never buy another XXXX again. With all the issues we had with this car and now what is on the news about the car fires. We do not feel it is fair to charge us for the {$400.00} fee to return the car. If the car was safe, we would have kept it. In the news it tells about the fires XXXX is having in their cars. They are not being honest with the public about the fires. The XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, under these conditions we are afraid to keep or get another XXXX car. The XXXX XXXX was just serviced, had low miles XXXX, in excellent condition. The Inspector even said that is was in excellent shape. The car was always garaged. We took very good care of it. We hope XXXX will junk the car because it is not safe to drive. We have reported about the car to several agencies. We were told by XXXX employees that the {$400.00} is to clean and prepare the car to be sold at an auction. When we returned the car, the car was cleaned inside, washed, waxed outside and a total detailed. We should not have to pay for the {$400.00}. The car was perfect inside and out. It even had gas in it. We had XXXX the Service Advisor, XXXX who has been our sales lady, both said YES, this car is a LEMON. XXXX stated this several times that we needed to get out of the car because of the issues we were having. This car is a LEMON XXXX!! A Manager at the dealership said YES at times we do get LEMONS. They knew this car was a LEMON but did not get us out of the lease, it was too expensive. So, we had to keep the car. They wanted us to get another car from them at the end of the lease. WE do not want another XXXX because of all the problems with this one. The dealership is not honest. We asked them about the fires on the XXXX. WE do not have any fires or problems with our cars. Three managers told us this when we were getting written up with XXXX. She heard it too. But the manager we spoke with let it slip that they did have problems with fires, but he blames the owners and the press. Since we had problems with the car with several issues repeatedly. We had to drive this dangerous car until the lease was up. We parked the car at the end of our driveway because we were so afraid something will happen if we parked it in the garage. We were so scared to drive the car. We were told when we leased the XXXX the fee could be waived if we ever had a problem with the car. We had a XXXX, XXXX and XXXX all leased from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX and the Leasing Advisor told us this. We were told this every time we leased a car from the dealership. I do not know if it is their practice to say this to everyone or not. But we were told this several times. Since we had problems with this leased car, no one will step up. They keep saying call here or call there. We did call around and went into the dealership about the issues we are having. We get the run around. Do you really want to trust XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX under the same ownership XXXX XXXX? Or, the XXXX brand. These lease issues happened to us but they still want to charge us the fee of {$400.00} for not getting another XXXX.

Managing the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Billing problem
Complaint: I wanted to get some help for I am being defrauded. I've been defrauded by a women who I dated for couple of months, I leased the car worth {$23000.00} 2019 XXXX XXXX under my name on XX/XX/2019 for her to commute because she has no credit to buy or lease the car on her own and her existing car has serious problems and so she can no longer drive that car. Right next day after she took the car from a dealer in XXXX, she discontinued and blocked our conversation over text and voice as well ( she did not respond nor answer my text ) and 5 days later she said she wanted to end the relationship out of nowhere. I asked her why didn't she tell me sooner and took 5 days without any communication or stop leasing the car when she knew that she was going to end the relationship the right next day? and she said she never asked for it but the fact is we've been shopping for a car over a week and I even shopped at the dealer while she was at work and sent cars information back and forth over text messages and we already discussed on the car issue quite some time and now she is trying to get away with the situation when I am left with {$23000.00} car for nothing. I already have two cars of my own and no other cars needed for me and I really don't know what to do with this terrible situation. I asked the dealer if I could return the car but they said it is done deal and they won't accept it back She was there when we leased the car the whole time, she saw I signed the contract, a sales person is my witness and she was the one who drove off from a dealership and after she ran over 100 miles during the last 5 days and she left me a debt for {$23000.00} I can't sleep nor eat because I feel so sick and stressed out in this situation and needed to get help from consumer advocate like you I believe fraud is a serious crime and I firmly believe that she must take the responsibility on this matter. I have all the evidence such as text message conversation and witnesses. She resides in XXXX, California Please advise me what I can do to get out of this situation.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Excess mileage, damage, or wear fees, or other problem after the lease is finish
Complaint: I strongly believe this is a deceptive practice and fraud to extract more money form me in addition to what I already paid in full. I have a lease agreement for 36-months in the amount of {$230.00} a month, total of {$8300.00} paid in full. After I return the car to the Hyundai dealers they want another {$9500.00} for debt collection. This is an outrage deceptive practice and fraud for profits from Hyundai XXXX XXXX. Please allows me to explain this in detail. I agreed to lease a vehicle from Hyundai dealer located on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX TX XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX with the salesman XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX. At the time of signing the agreement the salesman asks me to estimate the mileage that I may drive and the purpose for using the vehicle. He also told me if I use more mileages than his estimate that was no problem, as long as I follows the instruction to maintain the condition of the car. And I did, for 3-years I made monthly payment on time and maintain the condition of the vehicle as I was instructed. I was told that I have an option to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease but wasnt required. About 4-weeks before the lease end I received a Lease-End Kit with all the terms and condition and I brought the car in for inspection. The inspection status report come to the total of {$1300.00} for repair service ( with {$290.00} for transmission fluid? XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received the inspection report status I called and spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX he said its only an estimate repair suggestion. I could get these items done at this Hyundai dealer or any other auto shop of my choice and its not a mandatory. He also told me the {$400.00} for 4-tires was a mistake it shouldnt be included in the report after I told him I had bought the 4-new tires just few months ago with proof. The service manager also told my son the car inspection was clean and good. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Hyundai XXXX and I spoke to the salesman XXXX XXXX because my son wants to buy this car and wants to know the price ( XXXX ), I was told the price is firm and not negotiable, my son couldnt afford for this price at the time because he got lay-off that same week. On XX/XX/XXXX my son and I brought the car back to the dealer I gave the keys to the salesman XXXX for the final inspection. He came back later with a happy face and said the car is good and clean. I asked him specifically Do I own anything or require to pay any additional fee? The answer was No, you dont own anything and youre good to go, I hope you come back and buy a car from us. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I receive a letter from Hyundai XXXX demanding payment of {$9500.00} that I own them and is a debt collection. 1 - I paid {$230.00} at the time of signing lease agreement plus 36-monthly payments paid in full {$8800.00}. 2 I paid my bill in timely manner and pay as agree with the amount, and I follow the instructions to maintain the condition of the car. 3 I brought the car in for inspection when it was required, twice I was told the car clean and in good condition after the inspection. 4 - The dealer was happy when I return the car in clean and good condition and said I own nothing, but Hyundai XXXX XXXX want to extract more money that falling from the sky. No body at this dealer review the terms and condition of Lease End with the penalty price of {$9500.00} to me at the time of signing the agreement, or gave me a choice to decline or accept this kind of leasing condition. The intention and the scheme to rip-off a consumer like me is clear and very obvious at the end of this lease agreement. This is as same as you hand over to me a 6-months old baby and wants me to return that baby after 3-years still the 6-month old baby, that is impossible. This is an outrage deceptive practice and fraud to extract more money from a consumer like me. I am near XXXX old retired lived on SSA benefit and I am not asking for hand-out, nor do I want to get rip-off from Hyundai Motor Finance. I am asking for your help to investigating this type of fraud that car company and their dealers throwing at the consumer every day. I am looking forward to hearing from you and thank you very much for your understanding. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: Kia Motors Finance says that I owe them a debt, but I also have a letter from KMF stating that the debt has been paid in full. Now, because I won't pay the alleged debt, am making KMF honor the document, have exercised my consumer rights, and am in the process of initiating a civil lawsuit, KMF has retaliated by threatening to merge my current new car retail lease with the totaled vehicle retail lease that they allege a debt is owed. KMF has threatened to unlawfully accelerate my car payments and illegally repossess my car if I do not pay a debt they said was paid in full. This proves KMF is intentionally violating my consumer rights and is using deceptive business practices.
