Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Problem with fees charged
Complaint: Kia Motors has charged me taxes for the whole XXXX year for my previous lease with them and are also charging me taxes for the whole year of XXXX for my current lease. I should only be charged for taxes for the amount of months in that year that I owned either car. However they are charging me for the whole year for both. I calles them to dispute this, they said I need to pay the full amount and ask for a refund of each extra tax they charged me. They will then process this and refund me. I was given conflicting information about this when i paid the full amount of taxes for the first car, was told that I would only be charged for the prorated amount for the new car. However that was a lie and I am being charged the full amount for both cars. I dont think this is right. I shouldnt be charged the whole amount if I didnt lease the car for the whole year. They should only charge a prorated amount no matter what the town charges them for taxes. What about people that are not aware of this process?! They pay Kias taxes for the car that they didnt even lease for the whole year.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Problem with paying off the loan
Complaint: I never received the final damage assessment bill from Kia Motor Finance ( KMF ) for my returned lease on a XXXX Kia XXXX -- the damage was assessed in XX/XX/XXXX. I never received the bill, despite KMF having the correct phone number, email address, and mailing address on file for a second vehicle I leased from KMF in XX/XX/XXXX ( note : the same phone number and email address were also on file for my XXXX lease ). Since I was never notified of or received the damage assessment bill, I had no ability to pay the bill - causing me to go delinquent on the {$330.00} amount. In XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed my credit score had dropped 50+ points. After some digging, I finally discovered the delinquent KMF bill and paid it off right away via the KMF phone line. I believe the delinquency on the bill is KMF / the Kia dealership 's fault and should not be reflected on my credit report. I've disputed this issue directly with KMF via mail twice ( XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX ), since they do not have a phone or email to help resolve customer credit disputes. Both times, I received a letter in response stating my dispute is invalid and that " the disputed information is accurate as reported ''. I've also attached a document that goes into more detail on the situation and also includes : both credit disputes I mailed to KMF and screenshots of my contact information for the XXXX & XXXX leases.

Getting a loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Changes in terms mid-deal or after closing
Complaint: I am not quite sure who this message should be going to, but I am hopeful that one of you may be able to help point me in the right direction. I went to the XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Texas on XX/XX/XXXX to turn in my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and try and get a new one. When I first arrived everything was going well except for the fact that the salesman that wanted to help us was in his first month of working there and did not know what he was doing. ( I understand everyone has to learn, but it was everything that happened after that made this experience terrible ) XXXX was the name of the salesman that was helping us that was new, and while he was talking to us another salesman ( XXXX ) came over and kind of started to take over the sale. XXXX said that he appreciated this since he was new and needed the help. My boyfriend and I went and test drove a XXXX XXXX XXXX since they told me an XXXX was going to be way over my max monthly budget of XXXX. Once we came back in, we then sat at XXXX 's desk and began the negotiation process. The whole time during the negotiation XXXX was sitting at XXXX 's desk telling us about his personal life and how his wife had left him, instead of going with XXXX when he would try to get the best numbers for us. ( They would also talk about each other when the other wasn't around and made for a very awkward situation ) XXXX came back with numbers after I said the first ones were way too high and I asked what length of lease these numbers were for and he said it was a 36 or 39 month lease. I did not care which one it was but I did not want a 48 month lease. We finally agreed on a monthly payment of {$260.00} and {$340.00} dollars down. ( They also stated that they would be taking over my XXXX XXXX lease and I would have no charges after today ) I was then escorted down to the finance area and was put in the waiting room. We sat in the waiting room for over 30 minutes waiting for the finance worker XXXX who had nobody in his office this whole time. Once we went into his office he told us the system was down and he wasn't going to be able to print my documents for me to sign, so I would have to come back when the system was up and ready. ( He did take my first months payment and also my {$340.00} down payment at this time, for a total of {$600.00} ) XXXX then printed me a temporary license plate that was good until XX/XX/XXXX since he said the system should be up and running by then. He handed me the license plate and that was all he said. I had to ask who was supposed to put the license plate on, and then he told me to go see my salesman. When I went to XXXX 's desk he had no idea what he was supposed to do with the license plate, but told us to meet him outside. We waited in the new car for probably 15 minutes until he came out to help us, and then he taped the license plate onto the back of the car. I also had to ask him if he was going to show me anything about the inside of the car. XX/XX/XXXX rolled around and nobody had contacted me about signing paperwork, and at this point my license plate they gave me is now expired. I called XXXX XXXX and asked to speak to someone about getting a new license plate and was transferred to voicemail boxes where nobody every answered the phone three times that day. I got a hold of XXXX ( the guy who said the documents are down and who printed the first license plate ) and he told me I would have to come in and pick up a new license plate, and I proceeded to tell him I would not be doing that and I would appreciate if he could email it to me. He emailed me a license plate that is good until XX/XX/XXXX. When he emailed me the license plate I asked him if he knew how long my lease was since I did not receive in writing how long it was and he said 48 months. I explained to him that I did not want a 48 month lease and he responded with, " PLEASE COME IN AND DISCUSS THIS WITH THE SALES MANAGER. ALL I DO IS PRINT DOCS! '' I attempted to contact XXXX XXXX multiple times to set up a time to come in and discuss my lease lengths and the problems that I have had with their employees. Every time I called the receptionists would transfer me to a line that no one would answer. I called every single day the following week ( XXXX ) and never heard back from anyone. I finally called and told the receptionist not to transfer me and I wanted to speak to someone immediately. I was left on hold for over 5 minutes and she told me she could take down my name and number and someone will call me back. I never heard from anyone. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ( the document printer ) called my cell phone while I was at work 2 times, and then proceeded to call my wok looking for me. I called him back and he told me I needed to come in right away to fill out my paperwork. I told him I couldn't come in XX/XX/XXXX but I could be there on XXXX and he said he needed me there as soon as possible. ( I waited a week and a half for my documents to be printed but they needed me to come in as soon as possible for their documents ) When I got to the dealership on XX/XX/XXXX I told XXXX I had a few questions. I said my boyfriend and I were under the impression that I was going to be having either a 36 or 39 month lease and he said that is what he thought too. He said if the paperwork says 48 months to say you want to speak to a sales manager. When I told XXXX what XXXX told me to say he said " You can do that if you want but your payments are going to go up ''. I can not pay anymore than what I signed a lease for. I went from paying {$220.00} for my XXXX to {$260.00} for a XXXX. XXXX did not have any documents ready for me to sign, and he had to print all new ones once I got there. He asked me how I wanted to pay my down payment, even though i had already paid it, and I had to remind him of that. Once he eventually had the documents ready he said my lease officially starts on XX/XX/XXXX even though I have had the car since XX/XX/XXXX. My mileage says that it had 15 miles because that is what it had on XX/XX/XXXX. He then stated that I will have to come back to pick up my registration, license plate, and vehicle inspection sticker once it is ready. Before I left I had to have XXXX help me get a sticker off the side of my car since it looked like they had peeled it off and it left residue on my door. Sunday, XX/XX/XXXX I received an email saying I owed a payment on my XXXX XXXX even though I do not have that vehicle anymore. I was told I would have nothing to do with that car after XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and they stated the vehicle had not been grounded and they could not process this without a vehicle return receipt which I never received. They attempted to get in touch with the dealership and could never reach anyone. I ended up going to the dealership XX/XX/XXXX to find out the vehicle had never been grounded, until I went in today. I went back to XXXX when my XXXX lease was over because I loved my car, but I will not be getting another XXXX once this lease is over simply because of the way I have been treated. I still have not heard anything from management to this day. If someone could please get back to me what would be greatly appreciated. My cell phone number is XXXX, and my email is XXXX Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Auto debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: After 3 complaints about not receiving a correct payment history almost 3 months after requesting it at the end of a loan, I saw that KiaMotorFinance attached it to their response on the CFPB complaint. It is correct. I am attaching documents ( emails ) from Kia. I do not know if I have paid the correct amount or not. This morning I paid XXXX, more than the indicated amount on the payment history you published as their response. It was in an email sent on XX/XX/XXXX and due XX/XX/XXXX ( see attached ). They say I owe more ( see attached ). I have received no documents stating why I owe more than the XXXX on the payment history, but I paid what the bill said when I verified the payment history I saw published was correct. I asked for this in XX/XX/XXXX when I finally paid the unusual double bill I had been receiving and it said no other ( regular ) payment was necessary. Please examine all three attached documents to see why I am confused. None of the amounts match. I want this over. I want my title, and I want all dealerships to remove me from their mailing lists. Multiple dealerships are sending me emails to get me to come in and buy a new Kia After this horrible experiece, I will never buy a XXXX car again, and I love my XXXX XXXX.

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Termination fees or other problem when ending the lease early
Complaint: I negotiated a new lease on my XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, Florida. Despite a 3 hour negotiation none of the XXXX employees advised me that my lease for the new car would overlap the last month of the old car. This resulted in my making two payments in one month for one car. If I had known I would have opted to either negotiate that XXXX pay off my last payment or I would have opted to wait a month before signing a new lease. The result is I paid {$250.00} to XXXX for a car I had returned during the signing of a new lease. I feel this practice was either deliberate or the sales personnel were to eager to sign a new contract that their attitude was the consumer be damned.

Complaint: I seriously can not believe that I am writing this again. This is the THIRD time that XXXX XXXX XXXX has reported falsely to my credit report. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, they reported that the lease ( that I have paid in full ) is in collections! I am fed up with this company! I am going to take them to court again, because this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I do not understand how difficult it is to close this account once and for all. If I did not consistently check my credit report this derogatory remark would go unnoticed. I am FED UP!

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account information incorrect
Complaint: Good Morning, Im submitting this complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX, because they reported 30 day late payments to the three credit bureaus on my vehicle loan. The vehicle loan account is in me and my husbands name ; XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, my husband went to apply for an apartment and was denied due to all the late payments that where on his credit report. According to the apartment complex, the late payments showed up on XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. These are the late payments that are currently on our credit report ; XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX, I contacted XXXX to get clarification on these late payments, because according to my documents I was never 30 days late. The first person I spoke with a XXXX over the phone was XXXX and I inquired about all the late payments that were reported to the three credit bureaus. XXXX stated, I only see that XX/XX/XXXX, has been reported to the credit bureaus. Thats when I chimed in and said, According to the credit report that the apartment complex pulled on my husband, XXXX reported these months as being 30 days late ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX ). XXXX stated that she has limited ability to see whats on my vehicle loan account far as payments are concerned. I asked her to transfer me to a supervisor, and she stated should would be it will be a while before the supervisor would be on the call. I waited 30 mins before XXXX the collections supervisor go on the line. He introduced himself as XXXX the collections supervisor. I asked XXXX, could he tell me what late payments did XXXX report to the 3 credit bureaus because my husband had his credit report pulled by the apartment complex and was denied the apartment because of several late payments on his credit report, I explained to him me and my husband are both on the car loan. XXXX stated, I have limited visablity to you car loan account. I said, You are a supervisor and you cant tell me what 30 day late payments XXXX submitted to the credit bureaus. XXXX said, We report differently to the credit bureaus, for instance if it the XXXX and we havent received a payment by then we report you to the credit bureaus. I informed him that was illegal because by law you must be 30 days late on payments before you can submit it to the 3 credit bureaus. XXXX is giving me this illegal information on a recorded XXXX line. He instructed me to send a letter to the XXXX direct dispute department. After he gave me that information, I informed him that I would be submitting a complaint with the CFPB about these late payments and this wasnt the first time that XXXX sent incorrect info to the credit bureaus on this car loan. Please remove inaccurate late payments for these months from the 3 credit bureaus ; XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Also is there a way from preventing the month of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX from being submitted to these three credit bureaus XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. Ive attached a copy of screenshot from my car payments when I submitted them when I pay them via online. I dont have the screenshot of XX/XX/XXXX because it was in my old phone and it just blacked out on me and for some reason it wasnt saved in the cloud.

Billing problem
Complaint: in XXXX of XXXX I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX, at the time they sold me an extended warranty which the contract said I can always cancel and get a refund if I don't make any claims against it. I made several larger payments on the account and asked to have them applied to the principal. on XX/XX/XXXX I requested to cancel the extended warranty. I received an email from the dealer that said : " Also, I just need to be sure that you are aware that if there is still a lienholder on the vehicle, the refund goes to them directly and not to the customer. The refund amount is applied to the principle of the loan. '' I contacted them via email a few times and mentioned that it was not applied to the principal. I received this email on XX/XX/XXXX : " Ms. XXXX, Thank you for your reply. We can confirm that warranty refunds are paid in the form of a check and are applied directly to your principal balance '' It still didn't look right and I emailed a few times more. at first because they did not refund the full amount. In XXXX of XXXX they refunded an additional amount but still did not apply it correctly. the entire time they showed that I do not owe payments. Now, I XXXX of XXXX after I emailed again, they called me and said they made a mistake and if they reverse it, the account will be past due and I will have to make up the past due amount and they are willing to give me 3 months (! ). i've been asking them for years to correct it and now they ask me to catch up in 3 months. In addition to that, they added late fees to my account. I do have all statements that show no amount due. I was never late and had they applied it correctly, I would have made certain that I make payments in time!! in addition to that the car has a mechanical issue that they are refusing to fix and we can't use the car!

Problems at the end of the loan or lease

Vehicle loan or lease: Lease

Termination fees or other problem when ending the lease early
Complaint: Kia Motors Finance Acct No. XXXX. 11 months into the lease, vehicle was in accident and was totaled. XXXX XXXX provided coverage Claim No. XXXX. KiaMF sent me letter dated XX/XX/2018 that they would provide settlement amount directly to insurance. On XX/XX/2018 Kia advised XXXX the settlement amount would be {$17000.00}. XXXX XXXX. XXXX issued its check in that amount of XX/XX/2018 that was mailed to Kia and applied to the account. Ins. company, issued check for balance of claim to me. After confirming Kia had received payment, I and XXXX XXXX ( step-daughter ) used proceeds to lease a replacement Kia, also finance by KiaMF. KiaMF apparently reneged on settlement amount and decided it wanted more, refusing to release title to insurance company. By letter dated XX/XX/2018, KiaMF sent a demand letter false claiming that there was an insurance deficiency of {$1900.00} and Primary Insurance Deductible of {$560.00}, even though KiaMF knew the insurance proceeds had ben sufficient to fully pay the claim and that no deductible amount had been applied to reduce the amount of its check. I have written the company by email and had several telephone conferences, including a conference call with my adjuster that the claim had been fully paid. I assert that this claim has been compromised and settled. KiaMF decided to deal directly with my insurance company and exclude me from the settlement process. Because I was not notified that claim had been paid, an additional payment of {$190.00} was paid on XX/XX/2018, over an above settlement amount. When KiaMF stated a settlement amount that it was promptly paid the claim was compromised and settled in full. Subsequently, I clearly advised KiaMF that this balance due was disputed for the reasons stated above. KiaMF has placed negative credit information on both my credit report and that of my step-daughter. Supporting documents attached.

Complaint: I sent Kia a payoff check for the entire amount and they reported me 30 days late twice in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. How is that possible? I called Kia and told them and they said they possibly made an error but I would have to dispute it. I am not sure why they couldn't just fix it over the phone. I am in the process of going for a mortgage and this is affecting me. I even attached a screen shot as to how the account is being reported and the date of last payment is different on each credit report which goes to show me that Kia is not doing their job. Even the past due amount is different on each credit report.
