Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2017 approximately XXXX, my son and I was in the XXXX XXXX Huntington National Bank Branch to get a cash advance from my XXXX XXXX account. We entered the bank to which no one else was in line and waited for 5 mins until someone to call us up. There were three employees behind the counter, which neither of them greeted us upon arrival. We were helped by XXXX XXXX. I proceeded to take out my ATM cards, one from XXXX XXXX and one from Huntington itself and both my IDs one military ID with my married name on it and one state ID with my maiden name on it. Upon giving her my IDs, I let her know I would like IDs. She stated my military ID was not a valid ID along with her tone of voice saying your IDs dont match and they dont look like you in person. I then became offend by her accusations about my IDs. When I told her it was valid as a government ID, to take a cash advance from my XXXX XXXX account of {$800.00}. XXXX began to act unprofessional when it came to my she became livid and said I going to call security, I think you stealing from on account to another if this was your account I will be liable for it. As she is saying this, she is pointing her pen in my face which offended my son who then asked her not to point the pen in my face. She backed away to make a phone call. I told her, go ahead I will wait right here. When she was dialing, she stood there and said nothing and then hung up. It was my thought a person was coming from the back to speak to me about my IDs, instead the police, sheriff and FBI showed up at the bank. They surrounded the bank and my nephews car who was in the car with my son. I was in fear for my children at that moment not knowing if guns are drawn on them as I was inside trying to explain to the cops why my IDs was the way it is. I was in fear for my life and my kids lives unaware what the outcome of the matter would have been.
The officer verified my identity to XXXX, to which she still insisted I was not the person on the IDs and why I dont have my married name on both. The officer asked XXXX was there any other solution to resolve the matter. There was, XXXX called another manager to see what can be done. The other manager told her she could get a marriage certificate at a later date but go ahead and perform the transaction since she is a patron of the branch. The officer then stated This was a waste of resources for a matter that could have been resolved with a phone call to another branch. I called my husband to bring out marriage certificate to the branch so there would not be any more problems. After the agencies left, I still felt uneasy and uncomfortable about the whole situation yet I had to complete the transaction. When my husband came with the certificate, it was given to XXXX for review and copy. The transaction itself was not complete due to the machine seem to not take my chip. I then left unsatisfied, horrified and belittled as a customer to this branch and by Huntington National Bank.
I expected a higher level from the manager XXXX XXXX and I am quite disappointed. She displayed unprofessional behavior and escalated a small solvable matter to a disaster I can not recover from. I felt discriminated on, my character decimated, belittled as an XXXX XXXX and horrified. The level of care I received was not the level of care of a customer satisfaction. I went through XXXX and still did not receive my transaction. I left the bank with nothing but unpleasantness and anger. Here I am an XXXX XXXX XXXX being told I dont make that much to take out {$800.00} and called a thief. I was in fear for my life and my kids life. This manager XXXX XXXX could have gotten my family killed because she didnt think to call someone else for help at another branch to deescalate the situation. The rudeness, preconception and unprofessionalism she displayed had my children questioning my integrity and character as a parent. There has been other complaints about XXXX XXXX within the community in the last 3 months. I am filing a complaint with the BBB, XXXX, and informing my friends and family about the disrespectful, discriminatory and rude behavior of this manager. This behavior should not be tolerated by a manager and should be reprimand for her actions. I also contacted legal counsel regarding the matter. Thank you for your time.

Complaint: Question : How does {$32.00} in debit card charges be approved while my business account had a Negative Balance creating an additional {$200.00} in overdraft fees when I have opted out of overdraft protection?
Summary of facts : 1. I have a business checking account with Huntington bank opened in XXXX by an employee for XXXX.
2. I rarely use this account 3. Had my Huntington Debit card ending in XXXX, connected to my XXXX apps, which renew yearly.
4. I opted out of the overdraft protection, as I do with all my checking accounts 5. On XXXX, XXXX, I had a balance of + {$11.00}, when an XXXX XXXX charge for {$5.00} posted through my debit card. Leaving me a balance of + {$6.00} 6. This is where things get interesting.
On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, another XXXX XXXX charge for {$15.00}, it was paid by Huntington leaving me a Neg. balance of - {$9.00} 7. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, another XXXX XXXX charge for {$2.00} was charged to my business debit card and Huntington was again kind enough to cover it, leaving me a negative Balance of - {$12.00}.
8. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, my account was charged a {$36.00} overdraft fee : Account balance now a Negative - {$48.00} 9. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, another {$36.00} overdraft charge for the {$2.00} purchase : Account balance now a Negative {$84.00} 10. XXXX a debit card charge for {$24.00} was approved increasing Negative account balance to {$100.00} 11. On XXXX XXXX, Huntington bank charged my checking account another {$36.00} overdraft fee ; Balance now Neg. {$140.00} 12. Also XXXX XXXX Huntington charged my account an Extended overdraft fee of {$25.00} : My Balance Neg. {$160.00} 13. XXXX : I received another Extended Overdraft fee of {$25.00} : My Negative balance increases to {$190.00} 14. XXXX. I deposited a check for {$15.00} : Account balance a Neg. {$170.00} 15. XXXX XXXX, XXXX auto payment through my debit card for {$72.00} came through. Huntington allowed the charge, WOW!
16. My account balance increases to a Negative {$250.00} 17. On XXXX my account was charged another {$36.00} Overdraft fee : Negative account balance increases to {$280.00} 18. After ( 2 ) more {$25.00} Extended overdraft fees and a few deposits. My account balance now stands at a Negative {$260.00} as of XXXX, XXXX.
19. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I called Huntington bank to see what was going on. How do all these charges get approved when I do not have the funds available and I have opted out of OverDraft protection. Her response was since I am such a great customer Huntington bank extends the courtesy of allowing the debit card charges to go through. I asked about all the overdraft and extended overdraft fees. She said they could credit me back {$75.00} but the rest will remain.
20. How am i identified as a great customer when I rarely use this account?
21. As of XXXX XXXX, XXXX I have not received any credit.
22. However, I am still very confused. The primary reason I opt out of overdraft protection was to avoid the Overdraft fees. This account is primarily used during election years. So, how is Huntington able to charge me overdraft fees?

Complaint: Our house experienced flooding from Hurricane Harvey on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. We obtained our insurance proceeds from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) in the amount of {$250000.00} based on the estimate of flood damages. The check was made payable to us and the mortgage servicer, Huntington National Bank. We understand that the Mortgagor, XXXX XXXX wants people to repair their homes and not walk away from the flood damaged homes by allowing the homes to go back to the Mortgagor, XXXX XXXX via the foreclosure process. However we did not expect the mortgage servicer, Huntington National Bank to hold funds and make it difficult to get inspections on the status of the home so that funds can be released to the builder who is putting the home back in its original condition. We have filed several complaints including one open complaint with XXXX XXXX Case # XXXX regarding the issue of Huntington National Bank not setting up inspections timely and allowing the builder to go unpaid. How bad is it? I have spoken to Huntington National Bank on several occasions including XXXX XXXX in their property damage department to try and schedule timely inspections. Now I have been assigned to one of Hunting National Banks corporate officers, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX to specifically address the situation based on complaints filed. I have informed XXXX the house would be complete by XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and we needed to have weekly inspections so we could have the builder paid to avoid the filing of a lien and the work being stopped for lack of payment. Luckily the builder was convinced he would be paid so he has continued working. However the home is complete and we only have approximately XXXX of the XXXX in insurance proceeds that is due to us and the builder for re-construction. This is not how the process is supposed to work. We can not be that far off the inspection process to assume the home is only 50 % complete when in fact it is now finished. I feel like this is gross negligence by the service provider on the handling of the fiduciary funds held in escrow. We are now in the process of hiring an attorney to sue the mortgage service provider, Huntington National Bank for breach of fiduciary duty. This is completely uncalled for and not what the intent of the avoidance of the foreclosure process was intended for. We have suffered undue anguish from having to worry about whether the builder was going to complete the home since he has not be paid for the work timely and how we would come up with additional funds.

Complaint: Hello- The is regards to a wire transfer sent from my account at Huntington Bank XXXX On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I initiated a wire to XXXX XXXX XXXX via XXXX XXXX XXXX. I received a phone call on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX advising me as follows. I have a recorded transcription of this as well. " This is XXXX from Huntington bank and I am calling about the wire on the XXXX for {$2400.00} this wire was going to XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX they are unable to apply these funds stating that the beneficiary name is incorrect. we are requesting these funds be returned to us, if you have any questions please call us at XXXX reference # XXXX " I called on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and was advised that the beneficiary did not receive the funds and would NOT receive the funds as a recall had been initiated. I subsequently initiated a wire in the same amount of {$2400.00} on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX under the auspice that my original funds had not been received by our vendor.
I was advised to call back in a week and check if the funds from the 1st wire had been credited back. When I called back I was advised that the funds from the first wire had not been credited to the XXXX XXXX XXXX, and that Huntington was waiting on XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX to return the funds. I was advised that this process can take up to 30 days.
I continued to call in weekly and check the status of the {$2400.00} from my original wire that Huntington repeatedly advised me was not received by the beneficiary. And was told the same thing each time. Nothing to worry about. Recording of all these phone calls should be available.
Finally on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received a phone call from Huntington bank, XXXX in the wire transfer department. in regards to the recall request that was sent on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. There is a denial from XXXX XXXX XXXX to return the money. And we are considering this case closed. Please contact the beneficiary for any further information. reference # XXXX I am requesting my original wire of {$2400.00} be credited to my account immediately by Huntington Bank. I was repeatedly advised throughout the process that the money would be coming back to me and the beneficiary never received the money only to be told 30 DAYS later that the beneficiary in fact received both wires and was refusing to return them.
The communication breakdown in the wire system with Huntington Bank is unacceptable and fraudulent. They repeatedly advised me no further action was necessary and " not to worry '' all while the stood idlely by doing nothing to recall the original funds. There wire process and wire department needs to be investigated throughly so this does not happen to customers in the future.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I contact Huntington Bank about payment for home and auto insurance with Huntington Back. which was due on XX/XX/XXXX, I was told that it was return, because I did n't have enough fund in my account. I inform her that I had sign up with Huntington Bank Debit Overdraft Service. she said that the bank has discretion and I said I know, this is my first time. she put me on hold to talk to someone else. she came back and said it because I was a new customer. I told her that it was't mention when I sign up for ODP. prior to this incident I ask a teller about the 24 hour grace period that they advertise on the TV ad. I was told by the employee, that the bank has discretion. I told him that the TV ad did't mention about discretion.
