Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I logged into my Huntington bank account. I scheduled a " bank-to-bank '' transfer of {$2500.00} from my Huntington checking account to my XXXX XXXX account. Both of these accounts are in my name and appear identically on each corresponding statements.
However, the transfer never arrived at my XXXX XXXX account. I contacted Huntington 's customer service over the phone and they said that they could not provide any more information over the phone and that I would have to come into a branch.
Soon after, I noticed a deposit hit my Huntington bank account of {$2500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, but it was on hold. I called customer service again and asked why it was on hold and they directed me to visit a branch. So, I visited a Huntington branch located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, OH XXXX. I spoke to a banker about the deposit hold and the transfer issue. I explained the situation noting that I input all of the information on Huntington 's website and I did n't understand why the transfer did not go through and even further why there was a hold on its return. The banker called another department of the bank while I was sitting there and inquired with me. She was notified on the phone that the transfer issue was due to names not matching on my Huntington account and XXXX account. I provided her a statement from my XXXX XXXX account that I was trying to send the transfer to and she agreed that my name did match exactly on both accounts. She said, after speaking further with the other department, that the issue would be resolved automatically and the hold on the deposit would be removed within a week.
However, two weeks passed and the {$2500.00} deposit was still on hold. I called again and chatted online with representatives multiple times over the course of nearly three months and each time was told that no further information could be provided about the hold and that there was no estimate to when the issue would be resolved. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and the deposit is still on hold and I 've received no further information. It has been far too long at what originally was a very simple mistake on Huntington 's part by both my account and the banker I met with. I hope this issue can be resolved in a timely fashion.

Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Complaint: I had a car loan through XXXX XXXX XXXX which was acquired by Huntington National Bank, based out of XXXX, Ohio. I paid my SUV off on time on XX/XX/XXXX with no late payments for the life of the loan ( began in XX/XX/XXXX ).
They still have not sent me my title and I have contacted them over 5 times about this issue. They keep saying it will be sent but when I call to ask if it 's on its way it 's always still " in process ''.
I finally asked for a tracking number in XX/XX/XXXX for the title so I would know if it was on its way and they created a fake one that says " label created but not in the system ''. It 's XX/XX/XXXX now and still nothing. The loan ended almost 12 months ago and I would like to sell the vehicle but I need my title! Please help!

Attempted to collect wrong amount
Complaint: I have made repeated phone calls to Huntington, to set up a payment plan and to find out the amounts owed on the debt. In XX/XX/XXXXmy balance on my credit report said {$890.00}, I was told I had to pay an initial {$200.00} in order to set up a payment plan to which I would pay at least {$50.00} each month by the XXXX of every month. I have since paid at least {$50.00} if not more a month. I have pulled my credit report and watched the dollar amount I owe decrease every time. I called 2 months to attempt to settle the debt because according to the credit reports I pulled it was under {$200.00} left on the credit. The gentleman I spoke to then was argumentative, could not explain how or why the credit report was reporting a lesser amount then what Huntington is saying I owe. I asked for a copy of my proof of payment they have and he agreed to send it, but I never received it. In attempt to make my final payment and get the negative debt off of my credit report completely I sent a pay to delete letter to Huntington on XX/XX/XXXX stating that I would pay the balance of {$32.00} to erase the debt. On my credit reports that is what the balance shows. I received a letter stating my balance is {$700.00}. I have explained that no letters have been sent stating a balance other than the letter that was just sent XX/XX/XXXX. Since they have continuously reported to the credit bureaus every single month if it was some sort of mistake it should have been caught a long time ago. It is a drastic amount from the {$32.00} balance this month that they have reported the balance to the credit bureau versus the {$700.00} they are now stating that I owe. I spoke to 2 people onXX/XX/XXXX from Huntington, 1 could not give me any answer and to why it is 2 balances and Huntington has incorrectly reported, I asked for a manager she told me it could possibly be because they do not report to the credit bureau every month. When I stated according the reports I have pulled, it updates every month she placed me on hold. After waiting several minutes she came back and informed me that yes they do report every month but still could not give an explanation for why this balance is coming up incorrectly every month. I refuse to pay an amount other than what is on my credit report.

Threatened to sue you for very old debt
Complaint: I spoke with a company who Identified themselves as XXXX XXXX XXXX verbally and via email. they are claiming that they are handling my debt from Huntington bank. here 's the problem prior to XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX day ) I had no previous knowledge of an attempt to collect a debt and the company was just looking for the debt to be satisfied right away and wanted my card information. upon feeling unsure I contacted the company multiple times but always got different answers. So in short the company made me aware of Huntington bank planning on suing me if the debt is not settled. the issues here are that neither Huntington nor XXXX have any knowledge of a lawsuit and upon asking this company what regulator governs collections agency they blocked my number from being able to call. Also the most important thing in all of this is that the debt to Huntington was charged off in XX/XX/XXXX which is over 7 years ago and in Ohio statute of limitations are six years regardless of the type of debt. The time limit is counted from when a debt became overdue or when a borrower last made a payment, whichever happened more recently. If its been more than six years, a creditor can not sue a debtor for debt collection purposes. Please investigate thoroughly the only information I have on the company is their phone number which is XXXX and they sent me and email that came from XXXXXXXXXXXX

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On Sunday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a text from Huntington Bank about a possible fraudulent charge. The transaction was declined. I went online to look at pending charges and found two transactions before that had been charged to my account that were fraudulent charges. The Transaction dates were on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I called customer service immediately. The customer service rep on the phone agreed that it was strange the charges were done on the East coast ( a place i have never been. ) They claimed they could not do anything till the transactions had hard posted. They also said they would immediately send me a new card. I was a bit on edge, because another credit card of mine had fraudulent charges a few months ago ( discover ), but the fraud charges were immediately taken off. It was a simple process that was resolved within 5 minutes of me calling. It seems Huntington Bank was going to put me through a lengthier process. They claimed this process was similar to another big bank.
I kept being persistent and kept calling customer service. On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, the transactions had finally hard posted. I called and they put me the fraud department. They said i would probably receive a provision credit within a week and that they would immediately send me paperwork to fill out.
The current date is XX/XX/XXXX. I have checked the mail every day and have found no credit cards or fraud dispute papers. The fraudulent charges are still on my account. Everytime i call, the company seems to give me the run around and is prolonging the process. All the paperwork, replacement card, provisional credits, issues of resolve have not processsed at all. There is nothing, but silence from the part of Huntington Bank.
the fraudulent charges ( which the customer service reps seem to acknowledge is fraud ) are posted on post date XX/XX/XXXX trans date XX/XX/XXXX Wawa XXXX XXXX XXXX , FL reference number XXXX for {$100.00} post date XX/XX/XXXX trans date XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL reference XXXX for {$99.00} the third fraudulent charge that was not processed matched the XXXX XXXX above. They acknowledged that was fraudulent, but refuse to do anything about the ones that have gone through.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: During the period of XXXX our checking account was charged an excessive amount of overdraft fees : XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$25.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} XXXX : {$37.00} Things spiraled out of control and we are unable to catch up. Every deposit we made was eaten up by overdraft fees. I talked to a branch manager who credited our account on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX overdraft fees, totaling {$70.00} but even then, things were so far out of control that we could not stop it. I have tried talking to customer service on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, but they said that there was nothing that they could do. I had previously called Huntington headquarters and spoke with someone in Customer Assistance and was told that there was nothing that could be done. I do n't mind paying for some of the charges since it was initially our fault that the account was overdrawn but to be charge over {$500.00} in overdraft fees is excessive. We were even charged twice in one instance with a {$25.00} sustained overdraft fee, so we actually got charged twice for an overdraft.
And to make matters worse, Huntington claims to give account holders a 24 hour grace period if the account is overdrawn ; however, they do not notify you that the account is overdrawn until the day after it was overdrawn. Their notice states that a deposit must be made by midnight in order to avoid a fee, but again, this notice is given the next day and usually only 12 hours remains to bring the account current. With myself being sick with XXXX XXXX, and my father in law in the hospital, we could n't always run to the bank in time. I tried to speak to a branch manager about the notice actually only giving 12 hours notice but he stated that the 24 hour grace period starts when the account is overdrawn and it is policy to inform the account holder the following day.
Here is a copy of a notice that I got recently regarding the 24 hour grace. Please read it carefully as the wording will show that the account holder is n't alerted until the following day XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ( 9 hours ago ) to me Your account ending in XXXX was overdrawn yesterday. We 're here to help.
As a Huntington customer you have 24-Hour GracXXXX, which gives you time to make it right. Make a deposit today to fix the negative balance, and we 'll waive any fees from yesterday 's overdraft. Your deposit must be made before midnight CT and bring your account balance to at least - {$4.00}. The deposit must cover your current overdraft amount plus any transactions that may be processed today.
To prevent future overdrafts and avoid fees, visit Manage Overdraft Options and tell us how to manage your transactions when you do n't have enough money in your account. You can pick the best options for you and find other valuable tools.
If you have any questions, go to Huntington.com/grace, call XXXX ( XXXX ) or visit your local branch.
With 24-Hour Grace we 're giving you more time, not more fees.
It should n't be that they can punish an account holder for not having money by charging them so excessively. 15 overdrafts in a 2 week period of time, during the holidays is absolutely ridiculous! We are not rich ; we live primarily off of Social Security XXXX and ca n't afford to have such an excessive punishment.

Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Complaint: I opened a checking account with Huntington Bank under a promotion " {$300.00} Bonus if you deposit {$2000.00} '' on XX/XX/XXXX. I met all of the requirements within 1 day. After a couple of months I called and messaged them to check on the bonus, which had n't posted yet.
I was told that I needed the exact promo code I used to open the account. This was about 4 months after the account opening. Nowhere in the sign up process did it mention that I was required to save the promo code ( a ridiculous requirement to me ). I do vividly remember clicking the " {$300.00} bonus '' icon and then signing up for the checking account with the promotion clearly stated ( I had a screenshot that I was willing to share with them but it was saved on my work computer, where I am no longer employed ).
Huntington kept telling me that if I did n't have the promo code they could do nothing ( who keeps a 4 month old promo code flyer? ) I believe this is unfair, since I met all of the terms of their promotion and was hoping that the CFPB could help me in getting this resolved.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Complaint: Complaint Number XXXX XXXX : account # XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX : A complaint was filed concerning overdraft fees exceeding {$240.00} which stemmed from debit card purchases ( Complaint Number XXXX XXXX ) On XX/XX/XXXX A representative named XXXX called to inform me business accounts do not have an Opt-out option, but as a courtesy Huntington bank will refund me {$240.00} covering all the overdraft fees. She also informed me I would still have a negative balance of - {$23.00}. She would not provide me with any additional information, but offered to mail me out Huntingtons disclosure which explains Opt Out is not available for Business accounts. As of XX/XX/XXXX I have not received any disclosure as promised.
I believe the information XXXX provided to be an untrue statement. I know many Huntington bank business account owners and Huntington bank does offer Overdraft protection in 2 ways I know of.
Through a savings account Through, what they call A checking reserve Huntington does have an Opt-Out policy in a document titled HUNTINGTON DEBIT OVERDRAFT SERVICE the document states the following : Our service that authorizes and pays overdrafts for ATM and everyday debit card transactions is called Huntington Debit Overdraft Service. Tell us which one of the following options you want and we will record it.
Opt-Out : NO. I do not want Huntington Debit Overdraft Service.
-I understand you may still authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM and everyday debit card transaction, but if you do so. I will not be charged a fee.
I have a copy of Huntington banks Business account Disclosures and there is no other information I could find in the documents I received upon opening our Business account that discusses Opt Out Options.
On XX/XX/XXXX : at approx. XXXX I drove to the Huntington Branch in west XXXX, Mi. to deposit funds to cover the negative balance. However, I received an error message that my account was not authorized. I tried again and received the same message. There was no other directions. Therefore, I drove home to log on to my Huntington account and found out all information had been deleted. All transactions, deposits etc..
On XX/XX/XXXX : Being very confused I called Huntington Bank at approx. XXXX, representative could not provide me any information. She said it was very strange that no information displayed for her and suggested to go into a branch to see what happened.
On XX/XX/XXXX : At approx. XXXX I drove to the Huntington Branch in XXXX XXXX . The clerk was just as confused. He looked up my account and gave me the same information as the representative over the phone. He acknowledged the business account XXXX was closed but unable to provide any additional information.
So here I am ; our Business checking account is mysteriously closed coincidently just days after filing a legitimate complaint and no-one at Huntington bank seems to know why.
I am requesting the following information : The exact reason why my business account was closed, not a general response providing a number of POSSIBLE reasons but the SPECIFIC reason why.
Huntington bank conducted research into me looking for dirt they could use against me. Every bank does this and I am formally requesting all unredacted files Huntington gathered whether used or not used in their decision to close my account. ( I am hearing echos of attorney general Sessions asking for dirt on then FBI director XXXX, to use against him as an excuse to fire him.Everybody knows Huntington bank does this, I can prove they do once we get to the discovery process of litigation.
Huntington bank credited my account {$240.00}, I want to know why. Because when I asked previously, Huntington bank refused to remove all the Overdraft fees. They only did so as a result of my complaint to the CFPB. So, If Huntington did not break any laws, which they maintain, by charging me Overdraft fees, then why did they credit me after denying my request more than once prior to filing the CFPB complaint?
Why did Huntington bank lie to me about Business accounts not having an option to Opt-out of Overdraft?
