Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I submitted a dispute with Huntington Bank for {$3200.00}. The payment was a car that purchased. The same day the car was purchased vehicle stop working. I advised the car dealership XXXX in XXXX, Ohio the issue and the car was returned. I never received my money back, the owner is not responding to the dispute, I explained to the bank that the car was a lemon, I no longer have the vehicle, the dealership has the car in their possession. The dealer lied about the issues with the car, lied about fixing the car upon agreement. After Huntington Bank investigation, they denied my refund. Again they did not hear back from the dealer, which right there is Fraud. The transaction is fraudulent. FDIC standard insurance amount is {$250000.00} per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category. The bank is suppose to guarantee the safety of your money. And they did not honor that. FDIC insurance covers all types of deposits received at an insured bank ( Huntington Bank ), including deposits in a checking account. I was blindly robbed for my money due to fraudulent company.

Complaint: Back in XXXX of XXXX, I was in a car accident that was not any fault of my own, but it totaled my XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was financed with huntingon bank, I immediately called insurance got a claim started that night - insurance and gap got started paying it off and started communications with Huntington bank to get the card fully paid off, in the mean time, I had to finalize my divorce and was changing jobs - but was able to go get a new lease for a lower payment on another XXXX. Insurance and gap and I were all communicating, along with Huntington to ensure it was all paid off. From what I understood gap was covering the rest of the finances amount, so it was all to be paid off. Well I got a call from Huntington about a balance, I called insurance and gap and they said they would communicate with them to get it paid and for me not to worry about it. Well then I get a 30 day report showing from them on my credit for {$450.00} - meanwhile Im a newly divorced single mother trying to sell my house and get a new home that is within the mile distance allowed from my ex husband. That tanked my credit and put me under qualifying. I called them to see what happened and they said gap had sent in the payment late but it didnt cover {$450.00}, and then they told me as of the day i called, XX/XX/XXXX i believe, that I was 60 days late. Now I know {$450.00} doesnt sound like a lot But when you are newly divorced, now make $ XXXX and not your salary you were used to AND youre having to move, and a mom paying expenses for kids - {$450.00} is a lot. I asked to do a payment plan, or have a rewrite - they denied me and started having condescending tones asking me what changed and why couldnt I pay all the sudden, and that gap had not covered it for the total loss car for this amount and it was left to me. They told me I could make small payments, but they would consistently report me late. I let them know I wasnt even aware this was a balance left, & gap & insurance told me stop communicating with them because they were handling it. I ended up having to pull favors from friends to rally the money to pay them and begged them not to report me 60 days late. ******I asked since I wasnt aware could it be removed from my credit for the delinquency - they were making or breaking me being able to move where I am supposed to near my ex husband- they wouldnt budge, wouldnt even discuss the idea. But how can I be penalized for something I thought was handled and then still gathered the funds to handle it anyways? I do not understand - ****all I want is the delinquency removed from my credit - Ive paid them, I just want the delinquency removed. I need my credit to be clear of that to be able to get my obligations on track, I have an amazing credit history - my only issue is high credit card balances because Im a broke single mom.

Complaint: I attempted to purchase tickets from an online ticket Vendor using the XXXX XXXX through my Huntington Bank account. I was attempting to purchase 4 tickets for {$600.00} for XXXX basketball games in XXXX OH on XX/XX/XXXX for games on the XXXX. The vendor told me how to transfer the money to them via XXXX and that the tickets would be sent to my email once the transfer happened. I sent the money and did not receive the tickets. I immediately called the bank and reported what had happened. They told me I had to wait 3 days since it was the weekend for the charge to post and then we could dispute the charge. I called Huntingtons mobile and online banking fraud service and they said there was nothing that could be done to stop or reverse the transfer. I also called XXXX the day of the transfer and spoke with a customer service rep to report the scammer/fraud that had taken places and warned them of this person using their app and scamming consumers. They did not seem to care that this happened and said I could work through my bank to deal w this issue. I finally submitted the claim but it was rejected by the bank citing that it should have clearly understood I was taking this risk. I had done some research prior to transferring the money about XXXX and tickets and felt as though I would be protected if something went wrong or would be able to reverse the transfer. None of this was possible. I do think that there needs to be better warnings for consumers using this app and better warnings from the bank that this is a very final action and this app is being used very often by scammers. I think there also needs to be better tracking of the people using the app and a better screening process to ensure this cant happen to many people. As a consumer I felt very misled by XXXX policies and dont understand why Huntington would use such a deceptive and poorly designed application. Regardless of my authorizing the transaction, XXXX is allowing deceptive users to take advantage of other consumers. A reasonable consumer would be led to believe that there is protection offered based on experiences w other apps and companies that do offer some sort of protection.

Complaint: Huntington bank has refused to close my account in good standing after I withdrew all my money. The problem has gone on so long that I was charged a fee and my account became delinquent. Today I left work early to go to a branch and pay this unfair fee, however they can not close the account until the check clears ( which is fine ). They have no branches open evenings or Sundays and I will be unable to return to a branch before the next fee is due. I need some way, mail, online, or on the phone, to close my account. I have never had a bank refuse to close my account and charge me a monthly fee while they make the process unreasonably lengthy.

Complaint: 1. ACCOUNT WAS OVERDRAWN -- BY {$1200.00}. BORROWED {$1300.00} FROM 401-K ACCOUNT- DEPOSITED MONEY. 2. AT THIS POINT ASKED IF THIS BROUGHT THIS ACCT CURRENT WAS TOLD THAT IT DID. REQUESTED THE ACCOUNT TO BE CLOSED.. WAS TOLD THE ACCT WOULD BE CLOSED 3. DISCOVERED THE ACCOUNT WAS NOT CLOSED. ASKED WHY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS STILL OVERDRAWN BY {$44.00}. TOLD BANK REP TO WITHDRAW MONEY FROM SAVINGS AND CLOSE THE ACCT. I WAS ONCE AGAIN TOLD THE ACCOUNT WAS NOT CLOSED. ... ..I ALSO HAD A {$350.00} CHECK DEPOSITED IN THE MEANTIME CALLED THE BANK TO SEE HOW I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK SINCE THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED. I WAS THEN TOLD THE ACCOUNT WAS NOT CLOSED AND THIS MONEY WAS USED TO SATISFY ONCE AGAIN MONEY THEY FELT WAS OWED TO THEM. 4. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER GOT A LETTER STATING THE ACCOUNT WAS OVERDRAWN BY {$210.00}. UPON SPEAKING TO REP WAS TOLD THE ACCT WAS IN NEED OF $ 500/OVERDRAFT AND ADDITIONAL {$160.00}. ALSO SOME HOW ADDITIONAL AMOUNT WAS QUOTED OVER THE PHONE FOR {$800.00}. 5. WENT DIRECTLY TO THE BRANCH WAS QUOTED A DIFFERENT AMOUNT OWED. 6. GOT A CALL TODAY XX/XX/19 WAS TOLD THE ACCOUNT COULD BE SETTLED FOR {$210.00} HOWEVER I STILL OWED $ XXXX 7. SO CONFUSED BY WHY THIS BANK AFTER BEING A CUSTOMER FOR NEARLY 46 YEARS, HE DIFFERENT DEPT ARE UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE AND SHARE INFORMATION REGARDING A ACCT SUCH AS THIS ONE WITH EACH OTHER. SO THAT THE CONSUMER. DOES NOT FEEL THEY ARE BEING EXPLOITED. 8. FINALLY WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT CLOSE MY ACCT. I AM NOT A BANK I DO NOT HAVE AN ENDLESS AMOUNT OF MONEY -- BECAUSE OF THIS MY FINANCIAL SITUATION IS DECLINING.

Complaint: Huntington Bank has given me 5 and I repeat 5 different stories on depositing checks availability. They DO NOT TRAIN THIER PEOPLE AT ALL TO BE A GOOD TELLER!! I deposited a check on XX/XX/2019 for {$300.00}, it was from my mother. I asked when will it be available?? teller 1 : We do not know, it depends on what the " back office '' decides. teller 2 : Possibly tomorrow, and for {$250.00} will be available teller 3 : Possibly tomorrow, and for only $ XXXX wll be available. I asked : My account is new, when will funds be available the next day guaranteed?? After 6 months!! teller 1 After 2 months. teller 2 I dont know teller 3 This bank is Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about being vague, and hiring young kids that know absolutely NOTHING!! I have other accounts, it is all in black and white on funds availability, this bank needs to be investigated, and I mean NOW.
