Complaint: OnXX/XX/2019 Huntington took {$180.00} and some change out of my account ; when I called to try and find out what happened they told me that they took it out from 2 years ago for {$12.00} and some change when I had a overdraft fee. When I told them they couldn't do that they said yes they could because it's the same bank they told me {$100.00} was for a fee and that the {$81.00} was for something I had no clue what it was. I asked if they could put it back but they told me that there was nothing that they could do so I closed my account around 4:50 p.m. that day. I believe these practices to be in violation of Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices, Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act ( FTC Act ), 15 USC 45 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( UDAP ), as I was only 18 at the time of the occurrence. I believe that the banks practices are predatory and deceptive for younger Americans. I want Huntington to refund the money taken out of my account and an apology issued. I will also be reached out to the Ohio Attorney General and the XXXX in regards to this banks deceptive practices. I have reached out to Huntington to resolve my concerns and they have been less than helpful. Please assist in resolving this issue.

Complaint: We both work. We are XXXX. We have XXXX payments to have kids, student loans and mortgage AND never miss a payment. Often over pay. We go to pay our mortgage and its only allowed to pay principle if anything less then a full payment. Or told use a credit card. Yet we do not use a credit card. We are ahead on principle. We two times a month on pay day pay on the payment. But those are not full payments so its deemed ONLY allowed to pay principle. So we are late and thus in violation. A penny less then full mortgage cant go in but only to principle. Utter XXXX XXXX here you cant pay as you get paid towards your monthly due. Utter utter insanity.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I signed a car loan agreement to finance my 2008 XXXX XXXX XXXX car. The loan amount was {$5400.00}, that is the amount that was financed. The interest was 8.54 %. The total amount to be paid back was {$6500.00}, in 48 months payments. The amount per month was {$130.00}. The payments began on XX/XX/XXXX and were to end on XX/XX/XXXX. Fortunately I made some payments that were much more than the monthly required amount of {$130.00}. That means that the final payment is now to be well before XX/XX/XXXX. In fact I did my last payment in XX/XX/XXXX. In addition I have mailed them a final payment of {$180.00} ( {$50.00} deferral fee and {$130.00} for the payment I skipped XX/XX/XXXX ). During the term of loan I received no communication, no monthly account statement and no notice of late payments. Also I have been making my payment on time every month with the exception of the skipped payment in XX/XX/XXXX. I have called the bank to let them know I moved from the address that was on the loan agreement. Then called the bank again to let them know I had moved out of state. Then a year later when I moved again to a different address. All 3 times I gave them my new address and the individuals I spoke with each time, stated to me that the address was updated. According to the instructions in the payment book provided to me at the beginning of the loan it is stated that " we will send you a statement for your final payment amount in advance of your due date ''. The due date is the XXXX of each month and installment payment is considered late after the XXXX ( XXXX ) of the month. When I had not received any statement, letter or even phone call by XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the bank and was told they would send the invoice after reviewing my account. I contacted them again in XX/XX/XXXX regarding any balance that was still outstanding and was told the same thing. Then with no response from the bank I sent them a certified letter in XX/XX/XXXX including the skipped payment of {$180.00} ( as stated above ). That certified letter was returned to me marked " address unknown ''. This was because no one would sign for it as requested by me. It was then I resent it out to the same address as regular mail. Only then did they receive it, along with the payment. It was after receiving this letter that the bank contacted me by phone now telling me I owe them {$1100.00} due to late fees. According to one individual I spoke with she stated that the payments were late from the beginning. This was the first time I was notified of this. In XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the bank requesting the outstanding balance statement or information be mailed to me : I have never any received any such mail. The only mail I received from the bank was after my last letter that included the skipped payment which was also requesting my car title, along with any other documents needed to transfer the title to my name. Note : This bank does offer the option to " pass a payment '. Once again I am referring to the instructions stated in the payment book. " Valid after making 12 consecutive, timely and full loan payments. '' I did choose this option with the XX/XX/XXXX payment ; I skipped only 1 payment. That is the skipped payment I referred to above. I was never notified by the bank in a letter or by phone call that I could not do this because I was presumably late on my payments. Also according to the instructions provided in the payment book there is " assessed '' a {$50.00} deferral fee but it does not state anything about late fees. It was not until I contacted the bank to request my payment history that I learned the bank was assessing {$35.00} late fees almost every month beginning in XX/XX/XXXX. Once again I was never notified by letter, phone calls or other means that I was late. This shows you how deceptive this bank works and how difficult it is to communicate and to get issues resolved with them. I am now at the end of my loan payment, and they are still trying to charge me additional {$1100.00} in late fees. It is important to note that this amount has since increased to over {$1700.00} from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. This amount is according to the individual that I last spoke to on the phone. As I am writing this, my account has been put on hold until XX/XX/XXXX.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Huntington National Bank debited my account with them XXXX from a debt they said I owed in XX/XX/XXXX. I just opened the account on XX/XX/XXXX with no knowledge of any past debt owed to Huntington. I feel it is unacceptable, very discourteous to a customer to do this with no warning or no verification the debt belongs to me etc. it cause me a lot of problems & set backs on bills to be paid, I had no money no food and could have been evicted from my residence because of the unforeseen circumstances. Could you please help to recover those funds for me, or assist with a better resolution if my funds can not be recovered, I do not believe this is lawful or is it being targeted at a specific group of people because its just not right. I should have been given some knowledge of the intent to do this and the debt verified before the bank just take my funds please help if possible. They also said they bought first merit bank and their debt so I presume they will take from anyone whom they feel owe debt to either entity. Also when I opened the account I have documents of my current residence on the documents but today XX/XX/XXXX the banks internal department did not have that information in their system it was just updated today How is that possible if I have the documents from XX/XX/XXXX with my current residence on them, what address did they use or were they using as my residence.

Complaint: My online banking sent checks to Huntington. They cashed the check in XX/XX/2019 and lost the check inXX/XX/2019. XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my checking account bank ) re-sent the check for XX/XX/XXXX and they did cash that one. They are still saying that they never received either and have reported me as 30 days late on my RV loan. I have never missed a payment EVER. They misplaced one check completely, and failed to account correctly for another. I have been in touch with them for over two weeks and they just notified me that they feel they are correct. They are wrong, I supplied them a copy of the cancelled check from XX/XX/XXXX in support of my argument.

Problem with personal statement of dispute
Complaint: In XX/XX/2017 through my Debit Management Program XXXX I entered into an agreement with Huntington National Bank to close the credit card issued by them and set a payment plan for {$130.00} per month. In XX/XX/2017 I began to receive collections calls from Huntington and after discussing with them I was told that the account was charged-off. This is a violation of our agreement in good faith. Additionally I had a conversation with a specialist at Huntington that assure me that the charge-off would be reversed and marked as closed, paying. I would request Hunting honor the DMP agreement by removing the charge-off notation and properly re-aging the account per the terms of our contract. I have attempted to call and dispute this reporting several times with no success.
