Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: Ditech company is not willing to remove PMI, our property value base on the last broker price opinion that was ordered by ditech in order to remove the pmi Came out to {$660000.00} and our loan remaining is {$490000.00}, that makes our equity well over 20 % that is necessary for pmi removal, we also never missed a payment and always been on time, been contacting ditech and they not willing to remove the pmi just because they just bought the loan from my Previous loan provider XXXX XXXX please help me even that our payment history is perfect and our home price been valued sufficient, please contact me for extra Evidence that this company is abusing and not playing by book. I have attached the denial letter with reason that home value has decreased while in the same report from ditech broker price options shows the price increased significantly, please see both attachments, so far I called over a dozen time to ditech and emailed them many time and send many letter but each time they respond with unreasonable answers to avoid removing the pmi. Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: To whom it may concern : Ive been having issues with the way that Ditech has been applying my payments since XXXX of XXXX. Over the course of the last several years Ive made it a practice to pay my mortgage about a week early and pay whatever extra I can towards my principal balance. In XX/XX/XXXX my payments ( sent via XXXX Bill Pay ) started to be applied towards principal entirely. In XXXX I called in and asked XXXX to have my funds reapplied. In XXXX I called on to check on my payment and was told that it would reflect on my next statement of account. In XXXX I talked to XXXX who advised me that my payment was applied to principal again, said it would be reversed and corrected in 5 days. I kept inquiring as to why my payments were misapplied and wasnt provided with a substantial answer, I was told that it would be escalated so my payments wouldnt be misapplied happen again. In XXXX I talked to XXXX who gave me my account breakdown and told me to disregard my account statements because they were incorrect. In XXXX I made my XXXX payment ONLINE and chose where to allocate my payment so I thought I would work around whatever glitch that Ditech had in their system.but NOOOO. I made my payment too early and again it was all applied towards principal. I didnt catch my XXXX statement in time so Ditech reported my ERRONEOUS late payment to the credit bureaus which has now dropped my credit score over 100 points. I had to wait until after XX/XX/XXXX when Ditech could fix my misapplied payment before I felt comfortable making my XXXX payment. I made my XXXX payment online and all appears to have processed correctly since I didnt do it too early so at least Ive figured out the formula of paying my mortgage again. But I go to view my billing statement and the principal balance of {$98000.00} doesnt appear to be correct to me. Throughout this entire ordeal Ive expressed to every customer service agent and manager that I make my payments early, I track my payments in a spreadsheet, I care about my credit score and track this stuff religiously which is IMPOSSIBLE to do without accurate account statements. I have ZERO faith in any of the statements that Ive received since XX/XX/XXXX. As a mortgage servicer it is YOUR duty to provide me with accurate account statements and to tell me how my money is being allocated. Its also your responsibility to apply my monies correctly but I dont see that happening. Ive had zero follow-through from any agent that has accessed my account. While all of the Ditech agents are friendly none seem to have the power to fix my account, correct my statements, or accurately explain how my money was applied over the last 6 months. To make this right : 1. I would like revised account statements for XXXX XXXXToday reflecting the CORRECT application of my payments and the progress associated with my loan. My payments should show that they were applied to my loan on the day that they are made ( remember Im being charged interest on my loan, the day of the payment matters ). 2. I would like a copy of my current amortization schedule. 3. Ditech needs to personally handle the ERRONEOUS late payment that was reported on my credit score prior to XX/XX/XXXX. This was reported in XXXX, as far as Im concerned it should be corrected by now. I prefer not to go into more detail than is outlined in this email but I have more specifics to include as far as timeline is concerned if its of interest to Ditech directly. I expect that every agent and manager that I spoke with notated my account for your reference. Given that this is a more formal way to complain I hope to get my account issues resolved in a timely manner. I'll be emailed this same complaint to Ditech, I will be faxing and mailing my complaint to them as well. I don't want to have to continue to deal with this into the distant future so I'm also filing this complaint online now with the CFPB.

Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: XXXX had problem at end of year with this mortgage company regarding paying Taxes on time. XXXX problems again ; received letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from them stating we had an escrow shortage of {$570.00} to be paid before XX/XX/XXXX if not monthly payment would increase to {$990.00}. If shortage was paid the new monthly payment would increase to {$950.00}. We sent a {$600.00} ( XXXX extra ) payment to cover escrow shortage and received by company on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX {$950.00} bank payment adjustment was not done by us so our bank sent the regular {$920.00} payment on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX we contacted mortgage co. to inquire about our missing statement and were informed reason was due to failure to pay mortgage in XXXX. We told them payment was done but we were told we were short {$26.00} on that payment and {$35.00} late fees ( total XXXX ). Contacted our bank and wired {$100.00} payment ( {$38.00} over ) they collected on XX/XX/XXXX. They also cashed our check # XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX adding an extra of {$900.00} to principal and {$300.00} to escrow. On XX/XX/XXXX they received the disputed new payment of {$990.00} for XXXX while waiting for clarifications. The XX/XX/XXXX statement charge us again {$990.00} and {$9.00} late fees. Now they say our new payment is will be {$950.00} starting XX/XX/XXXX. They sent us a check for {$97.00} supposedly of escrow excess ( not cashed in ), we paid {$600.00} plus {$300.00} ( total {$900.00} ). According to their XX/XX/XXXX escrow review the shortage was {$570.00} ( we paid {$320.00} extra to escrow ). The new monthly payment with shortage payment stated on their letter to us would be {$950.00} not {$990.00}. Why the difference of {$47.00} a month for XXXX months ( total {$140.00} ). XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX from them to XXXX states our payment will go to {$950.00} on XX/XX/XXXX based on a payment of {$990.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. We paid {$600.00} to cover the escrow shortage so, what happened to the {$950.00} payment? XX/XX/XXXX payment made to them : {$920.00} plus {$100.00} total {$1000.00}. If the new payment was {$950.00} and late fees {$35.00} we over paid, I guess they are charging us the late fees to {$990.00}. They are not in compliance with their own estimate XX/XX/XXXX payment, again according to their projection new payment after shortage was paid would be {$950.00} but we were charged {$990.00} we paid and received by them XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX payment was charged {$990.00} plus {$9.00} late fees. We already contacted them by phone and disputed the {$990.00} payment instead of the {$950.00}. We also sent a certified letter disputing escrow account and the new {$990.00} monthly payment instead of their initial {$950.00} if shortage was paid, they acknowledge receiving it XX/XX/XXXX. If they can not manage properly the escrow account we have no problem paying our taxes and insurance on time but first we want them to follow their own estimates a give us the proper credit ( {$900.00} paid to escrow account ) and adjust the monthly payment. We are not planning to cash the check they sent us for {$97.00}.

Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: We had Hurricane XXXX damage XX/XX/XXXX and Ditech was our mortgage servicer until XX/XX/XXXX and now its XXXX XXXX XXXX. Ditech held the insurance funds and would reimburse us as we submitted receipts of repairs. However they cut a check XX/XX/XXXX to us and our roofer even though the roofer had been paid in full. I called to let them know this should have been paid only to us and at my expense I overnighted the check to Ditech. They as if today never forwarded those funds to XXXX which by law should have been sent within 30 days of XX/XX/XXXX and today is almost 4 months. Ive called Ditech multiple times and submitted a complaint online and all they tell me is to call the new mortgage servicer XXXX. I have contacted XXXX and they NEVER received the funds to disperse to us and Ditech will not tell me the status of the check that I returned. This is unethical and unlawful way to do business. We can not afford a lawyer as being displaced for over a year while in good faith paying every mortgage payment plus utilities at 2 places and still trying to get our home back together - we need help.

Complaint: ditech - the company we had and currently have our mortgage with is unfairly holding escrow dollars. We initiated a cash-out refi with ditech. So we had our mortgage with ditech. We did a refi with ditech. The refi funded XXXX XXXX ditech is refusing to refund us the balance from the old loan escrow account. The customer service folks tell me the " rule '' is that they hold the balance for 30 days prior to refunding. That's ( in my opinion ) unfair and just not right. Remember, this old loan was paid off by THEM. How can they not clear their own books when they paid off the loan. There is no other financial entity involved, no checks or wires from other companies to wait on. In the new loan they required us to fully fund the current taxes due and a surplus. So if they are doing the math correctly they have plenty of money for current taxes and a surplus. There is just no justifying sitting on our refund. If I don't make my payment on time, they charge me a {$44.00} late fee. Why shouldn't they do the same when the money is due to me?

Trouble during payment process

Complaint: This issue is based on an escrow refund from my county tax office. Our mortgage was transferred to a new servicer in XX/XX/XXXX. The old company Greentree which is now Ditech received an overpayment of XXXX, for the tax year of XXXX. The check date is XX/XX/XXXX. I have been going round and round with them about this issue. This has been going on for about 45 days. I just found out the check cleared on XX/XX/XXXX. They havent released the funds. Everytime you call it is a different story. Their personnel are very incompetent. In the meantime we are expecting three more refunds from prior years which means we will encounter the same issue. These refunds are based on exemptions we were due that we were not getting because we had not filed the necessary documentation. This is based on the age XXXX.

Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: When I tried online to make payment of my mortgage for the month of XX/XX/XXXX, it has come to our notice that my XX/XX/XXXX is not being accepted due to nonpayment of XX/XX/XXXX mortgage. It has come as a surprise to me because the payment of XX/XX/XXXX has already been paid and withdrawn from the account as per bank statement for the month of XX/XX/XXXX is attached. Moreover, an email was received as confirmation of payment from the website of Ditech.com under confirmation # XXXX. It was more surprising when the representative of Ditech also demanded the bank statement for the month of XX/XX/XXXX saying that the payment was also missing for XX/XX/XXXX, when I was talking over the phone on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX XXXX. I am attaching the copies of my bank statement for the month of XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and the copy of the confirmation email received from the Ditech. Com with details. This is not the first time that the Ditech Financial LLC has troubled us in the matter of mortgage payment and for your kind information that in XX/XX/XXXX the company had created the same issue and after a long time it was accepted in our favor. I would appreciate if CFPB takes necessary action to resolve the issue.

Trouble during payment process

Mortgage: Conventional home mortgage

Complaint: This complaint is regarding a Ditech mortgage payment ( check # XXXX ) dated XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$2000.00} that was not applied for the month of XXXX but instead, for reasons unknown was applied to the month of XXXX. As a result of this error, a 30 day delinquency was applied to my Ditech account ( account # XXXX ) and reported to the credit bureaus, landing on my consumer report, tarnishing my 100 % on-time payment history causing a significant amount of damage. Contact was made with Ditech on XX/XX/XXXX with representative XXXX reviewing the account indicating there had never been a 30 day delinquency and the late payment status is without merit most likely a result of late processing on behalf of Ditech and/or a delivery issue with XXXX. XXXX confirmed correspondence addressed to Ditech including mortgage payments have been delayed, lost or sent to wrong address before correctly being delivered. She stated other Ditech homeowners have experienced this same problem having their accounts being corrected without issue. She also stated since my account does not have a history of 30 day late payments, she would notify the appropriate department at Ditech of this anomaly and instruct them to remove the 30 day delinquency from my account with subsequent removal from consumer report after 30 calendar days. Following my phone call with Ditech on XX/XX/XXXX, I did not receive any response or contact from Ditech on the late payment correction. I followed up by phone with Ditech on XX/XX/XXXX and was told no correction would be made to the account and was hung up on. No reason was provided and I never received any communication or follow-up from Ditech regarding this issue. Multiple inquires on this matter were sent both by email and through direct message on the Ditech website on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. All of my inquires were ignored. I finally sent a certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX requesting more information about this late payment on my account. I received confirmation by e-mail on XX/XX/XXXX my letter had been received and should expect a response from Ditech within 30 days. I received a letter from Ditech dated XX/XX/XXXX with some general information on my account but nothing specific related to the concerns I raised in the several inquiries sent to Ditech. After much frustration and no answers, I filed a XXXX XXXX XXXX complaint on XX/XX/XXXX against Ditech mentioning the previous no-response issues and the late payment delinquency. I received a direct e-mail response from XXXX XXXX XXXX on behalf of Ditech between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX once again with irrelevant information regarding my complaint on theXXXX payment. ( check # XXXX ) By the way things are going, I feel I'm not going to make any progress on my own requesting information and an investigation on my account. Nothing has been confirmed or denied and no communication from Ditech. It seems to me there is a lot of disorganization at Ditech and mortgage accounts are being mishandled and homeowners are paying the ultimate price. I don't understand the reason behind Ditech ignoring all my inquiries and denying my right to inquire and request a proper investigation on my account. I feel uncomfortable and somewhat absurd mentioning this but with the current political climate in the country, it's possible I'm being discriminated against. I do not lack the ability to pay my mortgage and to prove this, all subsequent mortgage payments following this single late payment delinquency have been made to Ditech in larger amounts than usual. I'm currently ahead on my mortgage by XXXX months. I'm requesting assistance from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on this matter. The payment with check number XXXX and e-mail exchanges have been attached to this complaint. Your time is appreciated. Thank you

Complaint: I contacted my mortgage company approximately XXXX of XXXX to state that I had noticed I was being charged for private mortgage insurance ( PMI ) when I received my 1098, even though my principal owed was below the required threshold. They indicated that they would be removing it from my loan at that time. This year, I have received my 1098 from them and observed that I am still paying PMI and my payments would be increasing according to my statement. This is only noticeable when these statements are sent out at the end of the year because throughout the year, these items are not discernible, due to the fact they are all inclusive and listed solely as " Tax & Insurance '' in the monthly statement. I have since contacted them again on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute my need for PMI and was told I would be receiving something in the mail in the next 10 business days but they didn't know why I was being charged.
