Complaint: I have had a credit card with Discover Card since XXXX. My husband was laid off. During that time Discover worked with us and we completed a 12 month program. After the program was completed they offered me a settlement on of around {$5500.00} on a {$12000.00} balance but said they would revoke my card. I have been working hard to reestablish my credit and did not want to have them revoke my card. A few months later ( XXXX ) after selling my home I was able to pay the balance of the credit card in full. I received a letter dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX, after paying the balance in full, I received a letter from Discover Card stating they had revoked my credit. I called and no one was willing to reinstate my credit card or remove the derogatory item from my credit. I could have closed the account myself an avoided having the " revoked '' listing on the cc or I could have settled and had the same result and saved myself {$8000.00}. I would like them to either reopen the account or remove the derogatory information.

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: discoverstudentloans.com alleged that I had a sixty day late on a loan on which I am a co-signer. Unfortunately, I was probably that late but not due to any delinquency on my part but due to their not contacting me to let me know I was late. I am trying to have this blemish expunged because it was their fault. They have been unresponsive and have failed to provide documentation about this matter.
When they got a hold of me I paid and was current with the loan until my son went back to school.
My contact with them to resolve this was riddled with misinformation, wrong addresses, wrong social security numbers, and the list goes on.

Complaint: Hello, Discover has refused to honor the original terms of their promotional offer and has requested that I violate my own health privacy by disclosing the contents of my purchases. I am reporting Discover for 1 ) false advertising with intent to mislead the customer regarding their credit card product ; 2 ) theft of significant cash reward benefits related to the spending I put on the Discover card with the belief that the terms of their promotion would be honored ; and 3 ) for tying their cooperation with the an undue required burden of proof that was not part of the original terms of the offer, and asking me to violate my own health privacy.
Background : I opened a Discover card and was approved beginning on XXXX XXXX, 2015. The primary reason I opened the card was because Discover had advertised 10 % cashback rewards for making any purchases using XXXX, a method of transaction. Discover ran the promotion with no conditions requiring that all receipts be preserved, and that all receipts must be submitted to receive the cashback rewards. Discover represented to me and other consumers that the 10 % cashback rewards would be automatically deposited into my cashback balance after spending and paying using the Discover card through XXXX up to a limit of {$10000.00}.
With the information from their advertising and promotions, I subsequently spent {$11000.00} on my Discover Card using the method of XXXX. Discover subsequently only provided {$210.00} in cashback rewards, rather than the full {$1000.00} cashback rewards that would have been required under the terms of the 10 % XXXX cashback promotional offer. As a result, Discover did not deposit {$780.00} of cashback into my account. After the company was contacted, the company requested that I send receipts to prove that the purchases were not gift cards.
I would like to clarify a couple of items. First, Discover seemingly added this additional condition retroactively into their promotion. Second, I communicated to Discover that the purchases ranged from electronics to medicine/personal purchases, and thus did in fact qualify for their promotion despite the retroactive addition of non eligibility clause for gift cards.
Furthermore, Discover did not include in the terms of their promotion that receipts must be kept and sent to Discover for analysis. Several of these purchases were made months ago, and I do not have the original receipt. Furthermore, a significant percentage of the purchases included personal health spending and I informed Discover that I did not want to violate my own health privacy and disclose my healthcare related spending to them.
Discover has refused to honor their promotion and has held the cashback amount. Discover has falsely advertised their promotion, caused undue burden on the consumer to provide receipts from months ago, and requested that I violate my own health privacy. Discover should not be allowed to conduct bait and switch tactics and false advertising tactics like this, and should be investigated. I want my cashback missing in the amount of {$780.00}.

Complaint: I have attempted to contact Discover for over 3 months about an issue their website and the calculations of the current balance. Multiple times I have went to my activity and it computes my current balance with the following formula. Last Statement Balance - Payments and Credits + Transactions = Current Balance. However, many of the times when I review this information the math does not add up. Everyone of these times it has show that my current balance is more that it really can when you do the math. It makes it seem that Discover is simply taking this additional money and hoping that I do n't catch it. I have informed Discover of this multiple time over the course of 3 months. Every time I was told they were working on this issue but do not have an exact date as to when this problem with be fixed. Well, I have given them over 3 MONTHS to fix this issue and it still is not fixed. I feel that the company is not telling me the truth and actually are not working on the issue. This seems like a very unethical practice for a financial institution. How can a large company not resolve a simple IT issue?

Complaint: Discover continues to withdraw funds from my personal checking account, making payments on a Discover account that I 've reported multiple transactions as fraudulent. In XXXX XXXX, I had a credit of at least {$20.00} on this Discover Card account. A XXXX woman that still lives with me is a predatory individual and professes to love me -- I 'm XXXX XXXX XXXX -- I 've been told this is a " sweetheart scam ''. This individual made all the purchases after XXXX on this account without my consent. I did not make these transactions with this Discover card. I 'm attaching the XXXX Police Department 's reports. I first reported this financial elder abuse to the XXXX Police Department on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and subsequently XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I 've reported the theft to Discover as well but the representative badgered me over the phone for my new XXXX personal checking account information so minimum payments would continue to be paid. I closed my original XXXX account when I learned of the fraud. I am currently going through the court system to remove the woman from my home.
