Having problems with customer service
Complaint: Received legal statement/ from Discover Student Loans regarding CFPB legal action and settlement information for account holders. This letter contained information regarding my account, stating that it was eligible for a {$75.00} account credit for applicable servicing years. I have yet to see this credit applied to my remaining balance. I have called on XXXX separate occasions to inquire about when and how this amount will be applied. They have told me that the {$75.00} was applied to my XXXX XXXX statement, however, all deducted payments were made by me and my checking account funds. When I called the second time, I was passed around to XXXX departments and made to feel ignorant about their financial procedures and told that a special statement would be created to illustrate how this {$75.00} credit had been applied. To the best of my knowledge, all deductions to my principal account balance have come from my personal checking account. I have just received this " special statement '' and it is nothing more than loan information, original disbursement information and contains information about credit reporting. Nothing about your judgment against them for their illegal servicing practices with their student loan borrowers. I have had many issues with them over the duration of our contractual agreement, including upping my interest rate to above what they currently offer to new borrowers, taking additional payments on my account and applying them to interest, however, they were additional payments made to be applied to the principal, furthermore, I was instructed by their representatives to seek out plasma donation sites for income when I was out of work in XXXX and asking for a 30 day deferral.

Complaint: There is currently a credit card on my credit report from Discover Financial. I have called several times in an effort to resolve the situation to no avail. The account in question is under my ssn # and another persons name, but also has me as an authorized user. I have never had a account with discover financial and i have told them this several times and i have been a victim of identity theft and i am still currently battleing the issues from this, and every time i talk to someone at Discover they say it will be handled and it never is.

Complaint: I have the Discover " it '' credit card, this company seems like its a scam. I had the card for about over three years now. My over all balance is about {$7500.00}. I pay my bill every my bill every month some times late but nevertheless I pay the bill. I have been harassed and aggressively hounded by discover sometimes every day until I make a payment even when I already made a payment for that month. None of my other billers, utilities, or credit cards do what discover card is doing. My balance is not going down. at all it is still {$7500.00} over XXXX years of paying my bill, on time in the past.

Complaint: I had a secured Discover IT card, and I fell behind with payments due to education expenses. My account was closed and permanently revoked in XXXX, and this was not something I was aware of. I reached out on XXXX XXXX, 2016 by a message, and I asked if I made a full payment would it enable me to have spending privileges again. I was hasty, and I initiated a live chat with an Account Manager. We had an extensive chat, and in the end, I ended up making a payment for the full balance. Well, during this chat, this manager did n't say anything about my account being essentially inactive. I scheduled the payment for XXXX XXXX, 2016. I received a response on XXXX XXXX, 2016 informing me that my account was revoked and closed. I immediately sent a message and asked them to stop the payment having been told of that new information. To this day, I have not received a response to that message. I finally decided XXXX hours had passed, so I reached out to a live agent and asked for the payment to be reversed on XXXX XXXX, 2016. She told me that it would take about 15 business days for it to go thru the proper channels. I waited that much time and a bit over because on XXXX XXXX, 2016, I reached out again and I was informed that due to my payment history a partial or full refund could n't be issued. I did n't let it rest. Since XXXX XXXX, I have been fighting constantly. I reached out to the XXXX, and about an hour ago, I rejected Discover 's decision and issued a rebuttal. Discover has given me the runaround tirelessly for almost three months. I have talked to Account Managers, Supervisors, and this XXXX person who was a representative of the XXXX division. It went from a 15 day refund to talking to the bank wire department to everything in between. I even offered to allow them to a portion to show good faith. They rejected that citing company policy and my payment history. At any rate, this payment was made without having all of the facts. I do n't know if the agent assumed that I knew my account was revoked or what, but all I wanted to do was get back on track. I 'm a college student, and I do n't have a lot of money or a cushion so to speak. {$5500.00} tuition every XXXX weeks and the cost of supplies for school means my money is low. I was trying to do the right thing, but I would have preferred to pay the balance down overtime. I 've been more than patient. I realize my payment history was n't as strong as it could have been but work with me not rail against me and make me pay for a miscommunication. It 's bad enough that I asked 24 hours after the payment was scheduled to be taken for someone to please stop it and no one responded. It was a gross error and a huge mistake. One that I have been fighting hard to amend since XXXX XXXX, 2016.

Complaint: I get a judgement on my credit report filed by Discover Bank that I was not notified of. I request this illegal action to be removed from all my credit bureaus in a 5 days turn around. Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX I paid XXXX the balance on my Discover credit card. on XX/XX/XXXX I had an email conversation with a Discover rep, requesting that my account be closed. The rep indicated at that time that she had closed the account.
Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel a recurring payment at my online bank, so a payment of {$200.00} was made, then the next day I got an email from Discover about an increase to my credit line. I just logged into their website to see that I have a balance of $ XXXX ... they deducted {$40.00} from my payment for interest charges - on an account that I had requested be closed, after paying it down to a {$0.00} balance. The rep who told me the account was closed on XX/XX/XXXX made absolutely no mention that further charges would be applied to the account. I opened a chat with another Discover rep to request that, since my account was supposed to have previously been closed, my {$200.00} be refunded to me and the account closed. She did close the account, but is only refunding the {$150.00}. I feel that the entire {$200.00} should be refunded, as the account closure mistake was theirs, not mine. I have an email dated XX/XX/XXXX from a Discover rep confirming that she had closed my account.

Complaint: I applied for a Discover it* card on XXXX XXXX when there was a {$50.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX offered for approved customers. When I applied I clicked directly on the link that was presented to me on the XXXX website. Bear this in mind, as it comes into play further on in my story. I waited and waited to receive this reward. Finally, I contacted Discover card customer service. I am told that I selected a 0 % card, and not the gift card option. As I explained in a string of email correspondence to several Discover card representatives, I would NEVER chose that option, as I pay my bill in full every month, so a 0 % card is not of benefit to me. I was told that was MY mistake, they can do nothing to correct the issue or make good on their offer. Basically, they do not care about honesty in promotions, or in living up to their offers. I feel this is a classic bait and switch scenario, as I was only presented with the XXXX offer, not multiple offers to chose from.
