Complaint: Filed a flight through XXXX for a flight XX/XX/XXXX. Ended up not being able to attend flight due to policy at work regarding the time off at work XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX is considered a blacked out month and they will not allow any vacation time at all due to the sheer volume of work ( shipping company ). I had purchased an additional {$10.00} insurance specifically for canceling which is what it advertised without giving any of the details. I tried to cancel flight today on XX/XX/2016. Turns out, they charge an additional {$25.00} dollars to cancel the flight. I then have to go through XXXX XXXX who offers the cancelation insurance. After talking with them, they send me the details that the only cancelations that are approved are medical emergencies and jury duty. That is not what they advertised and that is not what I purchased. XXXX is charging me now a total of {$210.00} for a flight I can not take due to it now being canceled and they " do n't offer refunds on this type of flight '' is what the customer service representative told me over the phone. They refused to transfer me to a manager. Gave me info regarding trip mate cancelation to which they will not process your claim unless the flight is canceled so you have to pay the {$25.00} for a flight they can not refund. According to my cancelation confirmation email, I am refunded {$140.00} with XXXX XXXX. To use this credit, I have to spend a {$200.00} penalty on top of the credit. This is straight robbery. I received no service outside of my time wasted by customer service and policies regarding " we ca n't do anything. '' I want my money back and people to be warned of the shady tactics that cheapoairlines does in business with trip mate.

Complaint: Maintained a credit card with Discover Financial services, for 3+ years and did n't file a fraud complaint until 2 months ago. After filing a fraud affidavit and sending the fraud department supporting documentation, Discover Financial Services sent me 5 confirmation letters stating my funds have been credited as of the beginning of XXXX 2016. Upon checking my account everyday since beginning of XXXX, no funds have been credited. Discover financial services owes me over XXXX XXXX dollars in credits. Publish this complaint publicly, on the CFPB website, so consumers can publicly view the fraudulent tactics Discover Financial Services considers business as usual.

Complaint: I called to put extra security on my bank account since someone had all my personal information. Weeks later I called in to see why they had not resent my debit card. Complaint: I have online Savings account with Discover. Deposits and withdrawals are done online through ACH with a non-Discover checking account. The authenticity of the checking account is verified at the time of opening an account. For a withdrawal of large amount, which can earn a few dollars interest everyday, the Discover bank debits the savings account on the day of request, for example on XXXX XXXX, 2016 but the bank does not transfer the money for 3 - 4 days, thus not paying interest on the money which is still with the Discover bank. The Discover could not show any policy in writing to show this delay in transferring the money and not paying interest after speaking with the customer service rep and his supervisor, who kept on confusing me with the hold time for deposits. For these hold time on Deposits, the interest is earned, but on withdrawals where the account is debited, but the money is still held by Discover bank for 3- 4 days, the interest is not paid.

Complaint: I applied for a Home Equity loan from Discover Bank. They took 2 months to process my request and refused to do an actual appraisal on my home, thereby lowering the amount of the loan, raising the LTV, and raising the APR since their rate is based on LTV and loan amount. I was forced to go to another lender to get an accurate appraisal so that my loan application was processed correctly. The other lender appraised my home for {$55000.00} more than Discover who refused to use anything but county records to determine the appraised value. This difference allowed me to obtain the full amount of the requested loan that I asked for at less than XXXX % LTV where discover reduced the amount available to me and said I was at a XXXX % LTV even with the lowered loan amount. I want the loan inquiry removed from my and my husbands credit since they refused to acquire accurate information to process my application and this additional inquiry is dropping my FICO scores.

Complaint: Discover Bank and Discover Card have been ridiculous unfair to me as a customer causing unnecessary stress. Lying about the status of my account. Causing strains to my credit report. Not blocking continuous fraudulent activity on my account. Making no concession for issues that occur because of their lack of preparedness and the effects it has on me as a customer. I am made to suffer all the issue that arise from their lack of preparedness and the Discover Bank side inability to function as a proper bank. They can not do simple functions that banks are able to do. They do not provide information upon request. I have recorded conversation from Discover Credit saying what will happen to my account after the 2nd time Discover Bank will return payments. In the attached documents you will see how even though I am paying my DISCOVER credit card through DISCOVER bank. There is a delay. Discover credit card will send a confirmation saying they have processed the payment and everything is okay and Discover bank will show nothing. Discover bank also does not show any pending transaction ever. ACH transaction are never shown as pending even after Discover Bank has received them just suddenly appear on your account.

Complaint: E-Mail sent to Discover Bank : Good Evening, Please see chat below. I am very upset. I applied for a credit card with balance transfers of approximately {$8000.00}. I was only approved for {$2500.00} after adding my husband ( copied ) who works for a bank and has a credit score over XXXX and a excellent credit history. We immediately called Discover and asked for an increase to {$8000.00}, so we could still work with you for these balance transfer. We were turned down and told that we have to " prove '' ourselves before asking for an increase. At that time we told the representative that we will not be using this card. We were told quite dismissively " that is fine '' and the call ended. A couple weeks later I received notification that a partial balance transfer was conducted by Discover and I am being charged {$71.00} for it. I already took care of my balance transfer with XXXX. So now I have a credit due to me and I need to get that money back ASAP to pay back Discover. I will not pay the {$71.00} because I told your employee that I would not be using this card. I attempted to resolve this in the chat below, where I was told that not using the card is different than canceling the balance transfer. When I placed my call immediately after getting the approval amount, I made it clear to your employee that I needed {$8000.00} to do my balance transfer. Once turned down, I said that I would not be using the card and I was dismissed. Instead of your employee 's rude response he should has either asked " do you still want to do a partial balance transfer '' or " if you would like to cancel the balance transfer, then you must do the following ... ''. I am a new customer. How am I supposed to know your policy and procedures five minutes after being approved for a card? I am an XXXX attempting to establish my credit. I would have simply cancelled this card, but I was afraid it would negatively impact my credit score, which is why I told your employee that I would not be using this card. Your employee knows Discover 's policy and procedures, not me, and they should have at least made the attempt to work with me as a new customer. This was my first ever dealing with your company and it was not good, and now things are going downhill even faster. I was told on chat that the {$71.00} can not be reversed. So I am being punished for your employee 's inadequate customer service? I would choose to not pay the {$71.00}, but once again I am afraid how it will impact my credit, as an immigrant attempting to establish himself here. So instead, I will make the payment by the due date, if this is not resolved prior. However, I will also send a copy of this message to the CFPB, the XXXX, and any other consumer reporting agencies who may be interested in this story. I will also attempt to contact Discover publicly via XXXX and other social media platforms. Complaint: I have been paying back my student loan since XX/XX/XXXX. I was late for XXXX payment about 2 years ago and it was only by a few days. Other than that, I have never missed a payment no matter how hard it was to make the payment. I tried in good faith to get them to refinance the loan. However, they keep saying they will be coming up with refinancing options, but they never do. The terms of the loan are completely unfair. It is very high interest and a very short term. This makes it nearly impossible for me to live month to month. It was originally a {$44000.00} loan and by the end of the loan I will have paid roughly {$100000.00}. Seems a bit unfair to help a student get an education.
