Complaint: On XX/XX/2016, I became victim of IRS Impersonation Scam Call. The scammers told me that I am an income tax return defaulter and asked me to buy some XXXX cards and send them the code for clearing my outstanding return amount. They also told me that if I wont accept this chance they will start some law and enforcement proceedings against me and they may also put me behind bar. During this event, I used my Discover Credit Card for buying XXXX XXXX cards each recharged with {$500.00} and similarly I used XXXX XXXX XXXX card to buy another XXXX XXXX cards having {$500.00} each, thus totaling to {$4000.00}. On the next day I got in touch with local police authority, shared details of the entire event with them and they opened a case for this identity theft and fraudulent event. They suggested me to raise a claim with both Discover and XXXX XXXX XXXX and I did so. After the claim was raised, I also talked to XXXX XXXX XXXX on-call executives on this matter, they listened to me and cooperated with me and few days later they compensated me the entire {$2000.00} which I lost from my XXXX XXXX XXXX account. But, the Discover Account Executives who talked to me on this case informed me that they are not responsible for this case at all, and therefore they wo n't be able to assist me with any kind of compensation for my loss. So, I withdrew my claim from Discover. After this whenever I got in touch with them on this matter, always they said that as I have withdrew my claim initially, and once a claim is withdrawn they can not do anything more on that. I want to raise an official complaint against Discover. I know Discover is a very big organization providing service to thousands of people. But, if XXXX XXXX XXXX could cover me for my loss, why could n't Discover cover me at least some part of my loss, if not all. They should also be having some fraud protection policy for this kind of cases. If you could please look into this matter I would be very obliged.

Complaint: I applied for a home equity loan on XXXX/XXXX/2016 and sent the documents requested by the personal banker ( XXXX XXXX ) on XXXX/XXXX/2016. I did not hear from my processor ( XXXX XXXX ) until XXXX/XXXX/2016 and responded to her requests the same day. The processor does not return phone calls or emails. To add insult to injury, I received a notice in the mail that my application would be cancelled if I did not respond to the requests for documentation ( which I already provided ) by XXXX/XXXX/2016. I received another email from the loan processor on XXXX/XXXX/2016 asking me how I was progressing in providing the documents that she requested, to which I responded that I 'd already provided the documentation, and she has yet to reply to me. I have made several unsuccessful requests to speak with XXXX manager about these concerns and still have no resolution. XXXX lack of organization, customer service, and poor responsiveness have delayed the underwtiting process of my application and caused me unnecessary inconvenience.

Complaint: I have had a Discover credit card for 10 years with a credit limit of {$18000.00}. I purchased a home in XX/XX/XXXX and part of my mortgage agreement was to pay off the remaining balance on the Discover card of {$3500.00}. When I closed on my house on XX/XX/2016, the title company handling my closing received the funds via wire to pay off the card and paid it off within 2 weeks. I then received a letter from Discover notifying me that my account was closed. I called them and they notified me that they received a letter along with my payment requesting for the account to be closed. I requested a copy of the letter and upon receiving it, saw that the title company had closed my account without authorization ( since that was n't a requirement of my mortgage lender ) and that the document had XXXX borrower signatures that were not mine. I called my mortgage company and they verified that the closing of the card was not a requirement and the title company was in the wrong. I called the title company and they admitted their error but said they could not help me any further. When contacting Discover, they forwarded me to a supervisor two times on two separate occasions and eventually told me that they would not re-open my account even though the document they received did not have my signature. I offered to send them a letter from the title company that committed the error and they refused that option as well. I contacted the fraud department at Discover and they told me the same thing. Since the account closed had a {$18000.00} credit limit, my credit ratio changed and therefore my credit score went down XXXX-XXXX points.

Complaint: Apparently in 2010 Discover Card was successful in getting a judgement for a debt owed by a XXXX XXXX - presumably a Credit card. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX I own property in State of Washington XXXX a lien for this debt was placed on my property. I do not now or ever had a Discover loan of any type. I am appalled that a Company through its attorney can place a lien on my property without due process. XXXX County Judgment is XXXX. I suspect the judgement and legal proceedings were served to the rightful XXXX XXXX but this individual does not owe the property that is being was lien. Atty on the complaint are XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX WA XXXX This is all the information that County records gave me. I found out about this issue as it is creating a problem for me in refinancing my home.

Complaint: i was a victim of a lost credit card that was used in another country and when the charge went through it was associated with a phony address i have never been associated with. Lost my passport in which was reported to proper authorities and proof of loss reported given to discover along with valid dr notes to prove i was XXXX when fraud happened, Discover called dr offices to confirm my appointments but under the HIPA LAW THE doctors or nurses are not allowed to give personal info on where and what therapy i have had but my legal note were good enough for them they had me guilty before i could prove my innocence and would n't put me on a three way call with my dr to confirm i was at the dr when the fraud took place and accused me of tampering with the dr notes. I also had proof i reported my passport lost they did n't care less i want proof of the debt and want to see the credit card slips with my signature on them. Also i was screamed at by XXXX managers of the fraud dept and was called right out liar i will not be spoken to in this manner. I BEGGED THEM TO RESEARCH IT MORE AND BEGGED THEM TO CALL DR PUT US ON THREE WAY CALL SO I CAN GIVE PERMISSION WITH HIPA LAW LET THEM RELEASE INFO TO DISCOVER THE DR OFFICE THAT IS. DISCOVER BROKE THE LAW CALLING MY DOCTORS AND REQUEST PRIVATE PATIENT INFO ITS AGAINST THE LAW

Complaint: A gentleman by the name of XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted my mother ( XXXX years old ) and told her he could consolidate her credit card debt, which was a little over {$3000.00} ( $ XXXX on XXXX card and about {$300.00} on another ). After consolidating her debt he processed a charge electronically to her discover card for attorney 's fees in the amount of {$11000.00}. Discover card would not refund her the money because they told her she agreed to it. She was not aware of the amount he would be charging her or she would have never agreed to it. They did, however, waive a {$300.00} fee that was applied.

Complaint: Discover is posting debit card transactions w a posted and transaction date that is always the same, therefore there is no way to match and verify that I actually made the transaction. As the actual transaction date can not be verified as it is always equal to the posted date. I have been reporting this to Discover for over a year w no resolution. as an example they posted a XXXX transaction w a transaction and post date of XXXX but it showed up in my account on XXXX XXXX, this is impossible, potentially illegal, how can I make a transaction in the future at XXXX? This is causing a lot of pain and confusion on transactions. We have no way to validate that the transactions are real and not fraud. Please contact Discover and have them fix this immediately.
