Complaint: I co-applied for a {$5000.00} student loan based on the marketing solicitation I received stating adjustable rates starting at 3.99 % and fixed rates starting at 5.99 %. I was offered an adjustable rate at 6.39 % and a fixed rate at 7.74 %. When I asked how rate is determined there was no logical answer. Anytime I have applied for home, equity or auto loans I have received the best rates because of my high credit score. Discover is unable to tell me how the rate is determined. Don't know how they can advertise a rate and not state what is required to get that rate. In mortgage, equity and auto lending a rate can be explained do to the score a borrower has. To me this is bate and switch. If I don't qualify for the best rate then tell me why.

Complaint: My Discover card is a card I seldom use, and as a result, I don't check the balances as often as other cards. This card was charged by a merchant incorrectly and as a result, the bill was not paid and resulted in negative reporting against my credit report for the months of XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX of 2018. When I contacted the merchant they claimed responsibility and refunds were issued back to the original charged card, the Discover in question. I opened a case with the office of the president to get my credit profile updated with the proper information and they still have yet to do it.

Complaint: I began at the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX trying to lower our interest rate for our credit cards after I found out about the Service Member Relief Act. I have reached out to our Discover Card several times and told them my husband was XXXX XXXX but was told several times that it did not pertain to my account. My husband was about to retire in XX/XX/XXXX so I tried still to ask in XX/XX/XXXX and then again in XX/XX/XXXX. I was still told that it was not for my credit card but what I read about the Service Member Relief Act is that since my husband was XXXX XXXX out interest rate should not be above 6 %. I tried to get it lowered through a company and they sent me to an attorney. I am very frustrated and just want to pay our credit card off but do not feel 24 % is a fair rate. They are stating that there will be legal action so I hope that you can assist me.

Complaint: I have a Discover card personal loan for XXXX with very high interest, unfortunately. However, on two occasions now, i have changed my billing date to pay earlier to cut down some of the interest charges and pay quicker. On both occasions, i received a confirmation email from Discover but yet they didn't take the payment out until the original scheduled date ; which means the money sits in my bank account and not applied to my loan/credit card and continues to accrue interest!!!!!! I emailed them both times and no resolve.

Complaint: On XXXX-18 I contact discover to set up a check for {$220.00} with my account with XXXX. I contacted Discover on XXXX-18 advising them that they could pull the check and run it that day and that I had closed my XXXX account and provided them with my new checking account. Discover then processed the {$220.00} twice. Once from the XXXX account and again from the new account. I contact Discover and spoke with XXXX XXXX on XXXX-18 at XXXX XXXX. She advised that although I did tell them that the account was closed and the rep should have transferred the call to their supervisor it was not their issue for running the check because I only said the account was closed instead of pull the check and that this was not their fault because the rep was using a different computer system. This is a blatant breach of both federal and state law. I want the U.S. Attorney 's office to investigate Discover for possible criminal charges and for Discover to pay damages for their negligence.

The credit card company started calling asking me, relentlessly, asking when I would be able to pay. I explained that this was my husband 's card only, he's deceased and I do not have any money to pay for a debt that wasn't from me. They refuse to resolve the issue. Instead they sent a letter in my name saying they were giving me a {$100.00} to my account due to an error on their part. They changed names on the account. How is this action legal?

Complaint: I have disputed the account entry with Discover Financial Services and the credit bureaus alike for the inaccuracy in the reporting. Discover is currently reporting that I have a past due balance and past due amount of {$1300.00}. However, Discover sent a XXXX for this same account entry. They did not update the credit bureaus with this information and has since then continued to report this amount. Since the XXXX was sent, it established the premise for the understanding of the IRS tax law that since Discover canceled the debt with the sending of this form, it should be reflected as such on my credit report. When I disputed this entry previously with Discover and the credit bureaus, I was informed that the account entry had been verified. This is far from the truth because if it had been, it would be reflected on my credit reports. To that end, this entry must be deleted as it is inaccurate. See attached documentation.

Complaint: Discover credit Card XXXX is calling my job about a credit card in my sons name. my son contacted discover and told them someone got a hold of his credit card and to close his account. at the time he had only two cards one XXXX XXXX and one discover. XXXX closed his account investigated and concluded charges were not made by my son. my son has not applied for nor does he have any credit cards after this incident he said he never wants anymore credit cards he got the cards to help pay for his school books. discover has found my information and repeatedly calls my job. i have told them seveal times it it not my card and do not call my job, they continue to do so. the number they are calling from is a number you can not call back the number is XXXX they call my job every day evern saturday and sunday and its now become harrassment and i want it to stop and they will not stop.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX Account ending in XXXX Re : Your letter Fraudulent charges were made on my account around XXXX of XXXX and some before that with one in XXXX. This was a long list and a high balance of fraudulent charges. It was quite concerning but when I first contacted Discover, they said not to worry about it, they would take care of it. Almost a year later, they have not. The list includes individual charges from online and local merchants as well as balance transfers. I have snail mailed you, as of XX/XX/XXXX, documents proving that your balance for this account is incorrect Because Discover failed to investigate the charges, I took it upon my hands as a researcher and it took me weeks but I was able to obtain written documents and verbal statements from all involved parties confirming the fraud on this account. Those documents were mailed to Discover weeks ago and they did confirm they were received but refused to reopen the case and simply said they would contact the credit agencies that I disputed their findings. This is unacceptable! Discover has not handled my disputes or fraud cases professionally and thus the balance remains off in your favor. Research on Discover, in general, shows that they have a history of doing this where clients get frustrated and give up. I have asked them on multiple occasions to remove those charges that are not mine, immediately. Please note that I have contacted all of the companies on the list that they denied were fraud and all of them confirmed it was fraud. So, Discover was not honest. I have noted this is the type of treatment they provided me not only in my credit card account but also in my bank account that I closed last year due to the same issues. My proof shows you did not investigate my disputes and fraud claims, seriously. I have also spoken to a XXXX lawyer who is providing advice. I am on full XXXX and am living on my XXXX of {$1000.00} per month. The way they are treating me is discrimination against the XXXX on top of that they are causing me immense pain and suffering due to the stress from worrying about this. I will not be paying Discover anything until all fraudulent charges and legitimate disputes are removed. I am happy to document what I found but there are about 100 pages that I had to print out and mail to Discover. I am also happy to document my condition with my physician if that would help. I not only want to help with discover but I want to make sure this doesnt happen to other innocent people in the future. When your card is used fraudulently, it is very stressful and your credit card company is supposed to be there for you to support all of the false charges. This is their job. Complaint: I did a payoff of my Discover card balance back in XX/XX/2018 through a Home refinance, which was paid directly by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my home mortgage company. Today, XX/XX/2018, I received an email from Discover indicated that a payment of {$65.00} was within from my checking account as I had a previous auto-payment set up on the credit card account. Knowing that I had paid the full amount of my previous balance off I call Discover and they acknowledged that they had recieved the pay for this account. However, they told the {$65.00} must have been residual interest on my account. I asked how this could since myself and the XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted Discover Card for the payoff amount. I feel this is a direct attempt from this company to extract funds that should not have been added. As a side note I have not used this card in a least three years for and direct purchases.

Complaint: I visited a Hotel called the XXXX in XX/XX/2018, I had an awful time. I called management during and after my stay. I even emailed with a manager, an email thread in which I provided Discover Credit Card. I advised Discover that if the merchant wanted to bill me, they needed to bill me directly, and NOT through Discover as I was NOT authorizing this charge. Discover disputed it, and the company ignored/ took months to get back, and I was recharged because the hotels corporate office claims that there was no record of me complaining, even though there is a clear email thread that I provided to Discover and then Discover provided it to the XXXX/ XXXX. I was recharged in XX/XX/2018, even though I also provided copies and screen grabs and access to my multiple XXXX complaints against the hotel. I then started new XXXX complaints in XX/XX/2018 which have gone ignored by XXXX XXXX of XXXX and SBE. I have proof that this was ignored, both complaints were sent back to me advising the merchant refused to respond. I've provided this information to Discover Bank who has REFUSED to stand by me as a consumer and I will not stand for this. The credit card has mistreated me and not stood by their word. I got horrible - XXXX and XXXX service by XXXX XXXX XXXX and then my own credit card company is refusing to stand by me and refusing to dispute the charge. The XXXX has refused to even provide a discount. This is unacceptable! Discover is being 10000 % impossible to work with on this matter. My XXXX complaints that have been ignored CLEARLY show that the company doesn't act with integrity and with ethics, yet Discover is putting me through all of this.

Complaint: This is with regard to multiple issues with DiscoverBank. After trying to obtain resolutions from customer service people at call centers approached a different way, letter to the CEO, reported bank to every federal agency out there, now this one. Was contacted by a XXXX XXXX, claiming to be Associate, Executive Advocacy, DiscoverBank, who told me to deal directly with her, she even gave me her direct phone number, informing me there were 8 people in this Executive Advocacy group. Since then, of course can not reach her at all, trying for a week, get message, we are closed, try next business day. Same message when trying to call customer service. WHAT! Have on going IC3s with the FBI, in DC as well as my home state, Connecticut. My banking is becoming ridiculous, opening accounts, closing accounts because of fraud, you name it. Had accounts with XXXX, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, to name a few. I have had various accounts my entire life with no issues to report, now, my banking has been an abomination.

Complaint: Please see previous complaint # XXXX DiscoverBank. In addition to that complaint, multiples entries on my DiscoverBank checking account # XXXX monthly statements. Entries are as ACH when, in fact, a check was issued from my checking account with DiscoverBank, also referencing XXXX XXXX, where I have closed any accounts in my name and my name only in XX/XX/2017. Anything referencing XXXX XXXX, in my opinion, on any of my accounts, these accounts will be closed. With their XXXX XXXX class action case it seems these other banks, Discover, XXXX, might be heading in the same direction. In addition, I can not print or view these ACH entries, not acceptable. I keep a very detailed record of everything and not being able to print these so called cleared checks is not acceptable. I also know this is being done deliberately. It is very obvious to me when banks and businesses try to XXXX the customer as indicated above, it stinks of something illegal. When I was always able to print my checks and now some are being entered as ACH from XXXX XXXX, it certainly indicates something questionable is going on. As mentioned in previous complaint DiscoverBank, now I can not even contact this XXXX XXXX, Associate, Executive Advocacy, DiscoverBank, if she is not a fraud, with questions regarding my accounts with DiscoverBank. The scenario continues to grow and get worse.
