Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I made a complaint recently about Discover card personnel starting a dispute in XX/XX/2018 without my knowledge or consent that caused me great distress, much time and trouble and concern. That has been resolved and the company acknowledged it erroneously started an unwarranted, unauthorized dispute. Despite this, I received a letter from Discover card, dated XX/XX/2018 that stated that they were " happy to continue our investigation of your disputed transaction ... '' The case number is XXXX regarding a {$58.00} charge on XXXX. The problem is that I did not make this purchase, was not informed of a " dispute '' until I received this letter, and once again, was not a party to a dispute begun by Discover car " on my behalf '' nor did I authorize any dispute to be begun - again! I called Discover and it turns out that this was ANOTHER MISTAKE on their part and the dispute referenced in the letter was, according to Discover card, for another customer. I also received a letter that same day, also dated XX/XX/2018 from Discover that directed me to call their XXXX number because " they wanted to discuss important information about my account. '' Again, these two letters and situation have caused me great concern and distress. I absolutely can not believe that Discover card made these serious errors two months in a row on my account, which I have had for decades without incident. It is obvious that Discover card has a very serious quality control problem as regards unauthorized and mistaken disputes and mixing customers up. They need to be called to task for this. I am losing confidence in my credit card and wonder what Discover card is going to do to my account next - more disputes and mix ups? This is inexcusable - twice!

XXXX offered 5 Summits : XXXX XXXX XXXX Summit ( {$2900.00} ), XXXX XXXX Summit ( {$2900.00} ), XXXX XXXX Summit ( {$2900.00} ), XXXX XXXX Summit ( {$2900.00} ), and XXXX XXXX XXXX Summit ( {$2900.00} ) You could bring a Guest also ( {$1300.00} ) Last the XXXX XXXX you were to receive video recordings of some of the best speakers in the business, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which includes 12 issues and I only receive 3 and am no longer receiving because of the shut down. Plus two video recordings of private consulting sessions with XXXX XXXX. Done for you e book funnel, Celebrity branding package, High ticket coaching, Done for you webinars. 11 days at XXXX XXXX XXXX resort for the summit trainings.
So as you can see because of the shut down none of these products are being received and XXXX is not upholding their end of product service and rendered. You can not call them because of the shut down. -Description of Services/Products : XXXX is a business education platform. I paid and registered for a training program, sponsored by XXXX XXXX, to learn about online business practices and marketing techniques. XXXX XXXX which were 3 live training events ( XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX ), where I had to travel to XXXX XXXX or XXXX at a future date I choose to be trained and coached by the best in online marketing and advertising. Cost covered hotel stay, food, amenities and live trainings. This cost also includes continuous online training through XXXX websites and online coaching sessions that I could access whenever I want at my pace, and that new and fresh training will be posted continuously on the companys websites. I could choose any future date ( whenever listed by XXXX ) to attend the XXXX, and I could contact the coaches to receive online training via scheduling.
Reason for not being to dispute with XXXX is because it is shut down.-REASON for DISPUTE : I made prepayment for these services/products listed above, but I have never received ( DID NOT attend any XXXX ) nor will ever receive in the future my goods or services due that this company ( XXXX XXXX ) has been under investigation and shut down by the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) for being a scam and fraudulent company.
All XXXX sites have been halted by the FTC. They have a Temporary Restraining Order and all the company and its subsidiaries have been taken over on/about XX/XX/2018 by a Receiver named XXXX XXXX XXXX. There is no way I can contact the company in good faith for a reimbursement of my money. All communications in and out of XXXX have been cut, and they are legally not allowed to handle anything like this during the investigation.

Complaint: I was inquiring with Discover about a home equity loan, trying to find out about rates, possible monthly payments, terms, etc. on XX/XX/2018. The loan specialist did gave some rates and calculations after that she have told me to go ahead and she will start an application since she have prequalified me for the loan and will be getting more information from me and documentation as well. It was a lot of information and I feel that she was going fast and everything was just going fast. Nonetheless, the application was taken and then I have submitted documents that they were asking also. I called today XX/XX/2018 trying to ask if they can put my application on hold because I have inquire some place else and they will be giving me a lower rate compare to what they are giving me so I ask if they did a credit inquiry already on my credit and they said yes so I ask if it was a soft or hard inquiry and they mentioned that it was a hard inquiry which I am really worry knowing that it seems different from what the loan specialist explained to me while obtaining my application and information over the phone. I have asked them is there any way that it can reversed since I wasn't aware that it will be a hard inquiry versus a soft inquiry the I would have thought about it some more knowing that she was giving me so much information over the phone and there are times that I have to ask her to repeat the questions or information because I feel that I wasn't fully understanding everything.

Complaint: I have bought 3 Air line tickets by Discover card, from Travel Agency called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX/ travel on XXXX/XX/XX/2018 from NY/XXXX/XXXX and return on XX/XX/2018 XXXX/New York. Suddenly I found that the return ticket has been canceled so, I called XXXX XXXX, they advised that the travel agency cancelled it, however, I didn't request to cancel it and I didn't give the travel agency the permission to cancel it so, I called discover to dispute the amount {$2000.00}, I waited them over month and I sent to them that the merchant has cancelled my tickets, he stated to US department of state that he cancelled the tickets so, what happened is XXXX got refund from XXXX XXXX + the amount that I paid for them. and from my side I paid extra {$900.00} to fix the ticket and I paid another {$1500.00} for a new ticket. so, total paid for the tickets {$2000.00} + {$900.00} + {$1500.00}.

Complaint: Im writing because I noticed that my most recent credit report contains late payments reported on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX for my XXXX account.
I want you to know that I understand my financial obligations, and if it werent for my mother being in the hospital, being a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and working full time to provide for my younger siblings while my mother was sick in the hospital, Id have an excellent repayment record. I made a mistake in falling behind, but since then, my mother has recovered and is now working. Since then, Ive had a spotless record of on-time payments.
Im planning to apply for a mortgage and its come to my attention that the missed payment on my record could hurt my ability to qualify. I truly believe that it doesnt reflect my creditworthiness and commitment to repaying my debts. It would help me immensely if you could give me a second chance and make a goodwill adjustment to the two past late payments. To help give me a better chance of being approved for a mortgage loan.

Complaint: I have repeatedly provided Discover Card with proof that this account was opened without my knowledge or consent, but they insist on forwarding me copies of statements that I never received.
And now I know why!
These statements weren't sent via U.S. Mail ; they were sent electronically.
I am asking you to request that Discover provide me with the method of delivery for the volumes of statements that they print and send to me everytime I ask for proof that this account was opened by me ( like a signed contract ). Note : they have yet to provide a signed contract ; all other " proof '' they provide actually works against them and further proves my point that the account was opened illegally.

Complaint: I began an application process for a Discover it chrome Secured Credit Card on XX/XX/XXXX. However, I never completed the process. They requested that I verify my information by providing a copy of my Social Security Card as well as other documents. I never provided these documents, and received multiple email notifications ( on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ) stating that " Failure to verify the information above will result in a decline of your application. '' I had decided that I did NOT want to open this credit card, and thus chose not to provide the specified information. I trusted they were telling the truth in their repeated emails, and that my application would be denied.
However, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received another email from Discover stating that my application had been approved, and they would be withdrawing a {$200.00} security deposit from my bank account. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the customer service phone number provided in the email. I told them that I did NOT want to open a card, had NOT completed the application, and had been told via email that my application would be declined. However, they refused to cancel the withdrawal request to my bank.
XXXX lied when they said my application would be denied, and continued to process my application without my consent. This is deceitful, and is unacceptable.

Complaint: I have a loan with DISCOVERBANK. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XX/XX/2018.
