Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I purchased a laptop computer from XXXX with my Discover card. The brand name is XXXX. The computer did not boot up - it was defective, showing a blue screen and error message. We called XXXX and they were supposed to send a CD that could correct the problem. It was never received. I decided I needed to return the computer and obtain a refund.
I contacted XXXX from which the computer the purchased. Amazingly they reported they had no history of the transaction. ( A few months later they were able to locate the purchase. ) I contacted Discover. They agreed to look into it and gave me a temporary credit in the amount of the purchase ( {$1000.00} ). It posted on XX/XX/XXXX.
I have contacted Discover by phone and utilized their email dispute service. I have uploaded information indicating that I returned the computer to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX.
I uploaded a letter from XXXX indicating a credit was issued to my Discover card on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX says their investigation is complete and I owe the money. This is absurd and certainly not in keeping with Visa or Mastercard 's practices.

Complaint: On or about XX/XX/18, I filed a dispute with Discover Credit Card for a charge of {$3800.00} that XXXX charged to my Discover credit card ; because of damaged and delayed -delivery of merchandise. I was unsuccessful in my attempts to obtain a clear status on shipment of the merchandise.The merchant would not return my calls, or E-mails, and I initiated all contact, and written communication. Therefore, when I finally received the merchandise in multiple shipments, I made arrangement with XXXX and refused delivery and returned damaged and delayed merchandise through XXXX XXXX.
On XX/XX/18, I received an E-mail letter from Discover regarding my dispute with XXXX : '' We're happy to inform you that XXXX XXXX, XXXX, issued a credit on your Discover card account for the transaction you asked us to investigate. This credit will appear on your next statement. '' Meanwhile, on XX/XX/18, Discover advised me : " We've completed our initial investigation of your disputed transaction and have found in your favor. '' The disputed amount mentioned in this letter is {$3800.00}.
To my surprise, on XX/XX/18, I received another letter from Discover stating merchant credited my account for {$2000.00}. This amount is short {$1700.00}. Also, Discover, lowered my credit limit, causing an over-the-limit status that they will report to the credit bureaus. This is destroying my credit, and the merchant has my money and the returned merchandise. Discover stated that they have finished their final review.
I am requesting Discover restore my credit limit to {$7000.00} and continue to pursue the merchant for the remainder of my refund.

Complaint: I have a loan with DISCOVERBANK. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and DISCOVERBANK with no successful resolution. Complaint: Recently, I disputed a charge for XXXX XXXX during layover in XXXX, GA. I ordered food and signed for the food. However, I had to leave very quickly, as they changed when and where my flight would take off. I told them this and they said that they would refund my money. When they didn't refund my money as promised, I contacted Discover. Discover did not do their job under the FCBA and is still holding the charge on my account.

You never received your bill or did not know a payment was due
Complaint: I recently made a payment for my discover now credit card. When I was making the payment I noticed that I was 2 days late in making the payment. The thing is, I never go a reminder on the due date of my next payment. If I knew, i would have paid it. I recieved no letter nor email. I will like to fix this before being penalized for my lack of knowledge. Thanks

Problem with customer service
Complaint: Discover repeatedly for months lied to me and stated that my secured credit card would be reviewed and graduate to an unsecured card after being with them for 6 months. I always paid more than the minimum amount due and never paid a bill late. Everytime I spoke with a representative I received contradicting responses. Out of pure frustration of continuously receiving misleading and blatant lies from customer service representatives at Discover I decided to close out my account. I proceeded to apply and receive 2 other credit cards, one with XXXX XXXX and another with XXXX, for which I was approved with a higher spending limit than Discover and unsecured! Fast forward 3 months after I closed out my Discover account I have yet to receive my check of {$1000.00} which was secured deposit funds. I've spoke to 4 different customer service representatives before one of them thought to ask me to verify my address and realize that the apartment number was missing and therefore my check never reached me! I called again 2 days ago and was told a check was going to get re-issued, I asked if it could get expedited and was told that they would escalate to see if possible and to follow up. I called today and yet again a different story! This time I was told that I have to wait for an investigation to see if the first check was cashed before they could issue a replacement check. How FRUSTRATING! When I authorize the {$1000.00} as funding for security deposit Discover did not hesitate to withdraw funds from my account, however now that I cancelled because of misleading and poor customer service and want my money back they are taking extremely long and throwing all sorts of hurdles my way. I would never bank or apply for any services with them. I will make sure I tell ALL of my friends, family and co-workers, heck even strangers I encounter on a daily about the horrible service I received and that fact that no one I've ever spoken to has taken accountability for their company and offered a solution even close to above and beyond. I've never received such poor treatment from any company I've done business with and this is the very reason why I am appalled and in shock that they continue to receive the amount of business they do. They definitely do not put their customers first nor offer one call resolution.

Complaint: The interest rate is computing at 22 % I believe the logarithm is calculating incorrectly. I keep challenging the way the calculate is being assessed mind you there is no Cash Advance balance. I believe that I am being subjected to the Usury Act practices. No one will manually calculate the interest and the balance continuous to be maxed out or over the limit even when paying more than the minimum balance.
They increase the line by XXXX and within a few months with very limited charges the balance has max by credit line to over the limit.

I have attempted on several occasions to stop the usurious fees of 18.74 APR which is preventing me from paying down the principal. I would hope that Discover address my complaint in a speedy response. The only alternative is to alert other consumers on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.
