Complaint: I reported fraud unauthorized transactions on my Discover card for the balance on the card. I never got any letters from Discover for claim forms to sign and return back and Discover is calling me everyday with collections on this fraud charges. Also they are reporting negative late payments on the credit reports as a result of this.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: Initiated a {$500.00} bill payment to Discover on XX/XX/XXXX on their app to pull from XXXX XXXX. Payment posted on XX/XX/XXXX with Discover. Was showing pending from XXXX XXXX. Payment returned some time during the night between Tues and Wed morning before I woke up. Finally got an email from Discover fri night saying your bank informed us they could not locate your account. The XXXX XXXX account has been around for several years and their bill pay has been from the same account they couldnt locate according to Discover.
Another issue that thur. A {$400.00} bill payment to Discover over the phone from the same XXXX XXXX account was put on hold. Well another issue with giving them my money within 5 days.
Discover is hiding behind their name and their agents canned and robotic type responses. And they make me out to be the problem? Ive never ever had a return in full of payment quite anybody unless Im returning a product. And then the hold mess too.

Complaint: On XX/XX/18, I attempted to apply for a Discover IT card through a link on XXXX. I had just recently moved and was unable to verify my new address with a bank statement at the time of application. I immediately attempted to rectify this by opening a local bank account ; unfortunately I was informed that I wouldn't be able to get a bank statement from them for around two weeks.
Concerned, I called Discover 's customer service number and was informed in no uncertain terms that they would put a hold on my application for 30 days so that I'd have time to receive that bank statement. I was also informed that I had been pre-approved for the card pending that change of address confirmation. Upon finally receiving the bank statement and attempting to resume the application, I was informed that the application had already been denied, well before that promised 30-day window was up. The customer service rep I spoke to ( XX/XX/18 ) promised to have a supervisor reach out to me. No call was received.
When I called in again, ( XX/XX/18, spoke to a supervisor named XXXX based in XXXX XXXX XXXX ) I was told that another hard credit pull would be necessary to restart the application, a completely unsatisfactory resolution. I do not believe my credit should suffer two hits due to the incompetency of Discover 's customer service team. I am incensed that they refuse to own the mistakes of their employees, and I do not believe they should be able to misrepresent their services in a favorable light when it suits them to attract customers, but then completely deny all accountability when their false promises fall through.

Complaint: I was unknowingly enrolled in Discover 's " Payment Protection '' plan when I initially signed up for the discover credit card in XXXX. This has resulted in over {$1000.00} of charges over the years, which has led to my account gaining a balance. They informed me they were emailing me biyearly to alert of my enrollment in the program, but the email did not specify that I was enrolled in anything, nor does it say I was charged for the program. This led Discover to offer reimbursement for the last 6 months of fees, but I do not believe their biyearly alerts were straightforward or clearly stated that I was enrolled in a program, paying for it, and as a result of my enrollment my balance was never going to be paid off by making minimum payments. I see no case where this program helps anyone, as it lead to my balance increasing despite making monthly payments for the last 5 years. It is predatory to a degree, and only hurts the consumer.
I have not spent a dollar on this card in over 2 years, and my balance has gone from {$2600.00} ( XXXX-XXXX XXXX ) ; to {$2700.00} ( XXXX XXXX ), despite making payments every month.

Complaint: I have a loan with DISCOVER FIN SVCS LLC. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and DISCOVER FIN SVCS LLC with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late XX/XX/2018.

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: We had a Discover Card. When my husband 's business went under, it was one of the monthly debts we stopped paying. That debt was purchased by XXXX & XXXX from NJ. The firm got a judgment against us in the amount of $ XXXX. We did owe the money and entered into a monthly payment plan with them. They do not send monthly statements or receipt of payments. We would like to know our balance and get a receipt when a payment is made -- if not monthly -- at least quarterly.
We had been making payments faithfully for 2 years and we were late one month -- just outright forgot. Not hard to do since we do not get any statements from them. It's due the XXXX of the month. I went to pay it online on the XXXX of the next month only to find out they had cancelled the agreement. Also, you can not go onto their website and make a partial payment ( if you wanted to split it up over the month ).
We were able to get the agreement reinstated but they asked for an even bigger monthly payment. We did not agree to it. My complaint is about their business practices -- no statements, no receipts, no updated balances but they have no problem rescinding an agreement immediately when a payment is not made. They should be obligated to send out statements and keep consumers informed.
If I knew what I know now, I would definitely have negotiated the debt down. This law firm are bottom feeders and should be held to better standards. They prey on too many vulnerable people and should be sanctioned.

Complaint: On XX/XX/17, I purchased ( via telephone ) a sample of " XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX '' and a sample of " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' ( for a total of {$10.00} ) from a company identifying itself as " XXXX XXXX XXXX '' in a television advertisement, having used my " Discover '' credit card to pay for my order. This order was billed to my Discover card and subsequently paid.
I subsequently and unexpectedly -- received a package ( which I did not order ) via USPS, the label on which reflects the sender to be XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX, and indicates the contents are " XXXX '' and " XXXX. '' ( As of this date, this package is still unopened. ) On XX/XX/17, my Discover credit card statement reflects a billing by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX an amount of {$89.00}, and an additional billing on XX/XX/17 by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX of an amount of {$87.00}, a total amount of {$170.00}. I assumed it was a billing for the aforementioned package delivered by USPS, again which I did not order.
On XX/XX/17, I contacted Discover to dispute the XX/XX/17 and XX/XX/17 charges and was told the charges would be removed from my account and the matter investigated, and I was instructed to retain the aforementioned package pending the outcome of the investigation.
I then received my XX/XX/17 credit card statement from Discover and found it to reflect two additional charges identical to the XX/XX/17 and XX/XX/17 charges mentioned above, again totaling {$170.00}.
On XX/XX/17, I called Discover about the additional charges and was told that Discover would block my account so that the XXXX products company could not charge against my account any further. I was again instructed to continue to retain the unopened package mentioned above.
I subsequently received correspondence from Discover stating the following : XXXXeve completed our initial investigation of your disputed transaction and have found in your favor. This means well reverse the temporary credit on your account and apply a credit adjustment. You will not be charged for this transaction, including any related interest or fees.
I then received my XX/XX/17 credit card statement from Discover and found that Discover had not only reinstated the credited/disputed charges totaling {$350.00} but had added additional charges of another {$87.00} and {$89.00} ( totaling {$170.00} ), for a grand total of {$530.00}!!
I feel I have been misrepresented by Discover, in that they informed me that their investigation results were in my favor and then subsequently reversed their decision after they received information from the company who placed fraudulent charges against my Discover credit card without my authorization. Additionally, the XXXX products company NEVER provided me with any documentation as was sent to Discover either at the time of my original purchase of the samples nor at any time thereafter.

Complaint: I am writing about Discover Card. I had automatic payments set up to pay the full statement balance. My XXXX statement balance of {$1100.00} was scheduled to be withdrawn from my bank account on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into my Discover Card account and paid the full balance that was showing on my account at that time of {$2000.00}, paying my statement balance in full. On XX/XX/XXXX, the {$2000.00} was withdrawn from my bank account. In addition, Discover Card withdrew an additional {$500.00} from my account on the same day. I had not set up my account to withdraw {$500.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called customer service and asked why they withdrew more than what I owed them. I was told by the customer service rep that charges of {$230.00} had cleared the account since I made the payment, and that triggered an " automatic payment '' of {$500.00}, leaving my account overpaid by {$260.00}. I was told they can not take out the exact amount due, they can only take out {$500.00}. I had not set up my account to pay {$500.00} -- especially when it was not due. But somehow my " automatic payment '' set up had been switched from " pay statement balance '' to " pay {$500.00}. '' It took this bank no time at all to take funds out of my account, but they told me it would take 7-10 days to refund the {$260.00} they owed me. How is this fair? When I asked them to refund what they owed me and close my account, they did not. Instead they issued a refund check for {$500.00}, and left the balance of {$230.00} owed on the credit card and kept the account open.

Complaint: I have been working to obtain a home equity loan with Discover Home Equity since late XXXX of this year. The process has been horrible from the start, but what really tipped the scales was on XX/XX/XXXX. I received an email from the " loan processor '' XXXX XXXX NMLS ID XXXX. In and of itself this was not unusual, but when I read the email I found that it had a salutation to a " Ms. XXXX '' and included creditors and debt amounts that were not mine. I quickly 'replied all ' and advised that the information was not mine, but was never acknowledged.
Emails go unanswered, voicemails go unreturned ...
I DID call in today and advise Discover to cancel/withdraw my application due to their unprofessionalism and inability to secure financial information.
