Complaint: I'm being accused for something that I didn't make so discover is pointing fingers at me and I want the world to see this comment. because what the point for anyone to sign up with discover and then they go behind you and stab you on the back after signing up with them!!! we made see their adveristment and then start making purchase month after month so we can earn our points then all of a sudden they will accused you if your card have gotten stolen ...
you are not 100 % cover by discover, you are 100 % being fool by them so they can steal your money ....

Complaint: Discover Personal loans placed my loan in a collection account rather than lowering payments due financial hardship. Since it has been in collections the loan has negatively impacted my credit and prevented me from getting an apartment, job and stable means of obtaining work to pay off the debt.
If possible I would like the collection account removed from the credit score so I can gain stable employment and obtain a place to live. I am also open to other options at the lenders discretion in order to get employment and a place to live.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I have entered into a debt management program with XXXX ( XXXX ). In order for me to participate in the Debt Management Program, I had to close my Discover Card Account. Discover received a proposal in XX/XX/XXXX and it was rejected by Discover on XX/XX/XXXX due to needing an increase in payment. Discover then reconvened and with my approval, XXXX sent a new proposal to Discover with the increased payment amount on XX/XX/XXXX, which was approved by Discover on XX/XX/XXXX. During that time frame, Discover was informed that the payment goes on a cycle, and if dropped from the program for non-payment, the client was supposed to receive notice of the drop. In addition, when the payment is received by XXXX, they pay it out to the creditors. Due to Discover 's processing times, the payment would be processed later.
I was contacted by Discover several times. Each time, I had to make a payment arrangement with them. Discover also informed me that they never received a proposal from XXXX, although they did. Discover has a copy of the proposal.
During that time, I was reported late in XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX of XXXX. Discover contacted me to XXXX payment arrangements so that the account is not reported negative. Although I made the timely payments, I was still reported late, and it damaged my credit.

Last Statement Balance = {$850.00} Posted Transactions = {$0.00} Payments and Credits = {$0.00} Current Balance = {$1100.00} Please do the math. {$850.00} + XXXX = {$850.00}. It does not equal {$1100.00} Additionally, there is Pending Transactions of {$56.00}. Even if those the Pending Transactions are included in the Current Balance the balance would still be off by {$190.00}.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX - settlement on account ( after taking advantage of my older grandmother for {$14000.00} after offering me to settle for {$8000.00} ) XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX - settlement letter sent from Discover SL in response to XXXX XXXX request to verify the debt. ( Not received - info provided on a recorded line by a supervisor ) XX/XX/XXXX - charge off on Discover SL account.
I called and spoke to 4 different people. The supervisor, XXXX # XXXX, informed me they made a terrible mistake. He insisted he would escalate this and have it retroactively applied to my credit report to show it was paid in XX/XX/XXXX.
Called again Various times throughout XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. I asked XXXX how they can charge me off and at the same times months prior send me a settlement letter showing it was paid. That is the definition of willful neglect. To send me documents that say we no longer owe and then months later XXXX my credit report.

Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Complaint: My sister used my personal information to open multiple credit cards, one was a Discover credit card. I had no idea she opened this card until she passed away on XX/XX/XXXX, she opened the account with my information but used her address. I contact Discover as soon as I found out and I believed that it was taken care of since I completed an affidavit of identity theft.
On XX/XX/XXXX I went to a financial counselor to get assistance with this situation and when we looked at my credit report it shows that she had opened this account in XX/XX/XXXX, at that time I was living in the XXXX XXXX. I had no idea since I never checked my credit report. On the credit report it looks like my sister was using and paying the card on a monthly basis up until her passing in XX/XX/XXXX, the card was later closed in XX/XX/XXXX. Recently I applied for a credit card at XXXX and was denied due to this fraudulent account reporting on my credit report.
That same day I contacted Discover and they gave me the credit bureau management department address for me to mail a letter explaining what happened and requesting for the account to be removed from my reports as it is negatively affecting my credit. I have yet to hear back from discover.

Complaint: Discover bank has consistently and fecklessly engaged in practices designed to deceive and defraud. They include the following.
1. Unrequested credit line increases! I have never once asked for a credit line increase yet I have received at least 5 from Discover over the years. I have received only 2 other in my lifetime and they were both from a credit card I have held since I was XXXX.
2. Unrequested credit rate decreases - although this appears altruistic on the behalf of Discover it is yet another cleverly designed way for Discover to defraud and deceive.
These decreases are generally a fraction of a percent, yet they lock the balance in at that rate for life and future payments and applied disproportionately to new balances and your lower rate. The higher rate from your previous balance almost never goes down and stays at the higher rate. The only way to escape this NIGHTMARE is to pay off the entire balance which most people can not.
3. On Discover Personal Loans - their payment options are clearly designed to delay payments, confuse the customer obfuscate the true payment date.
When you make a payment almost every other company in the world schedules the payment for that day, not Discover - they automatically schedule the payment for your due date, you have to manually enter a calendar and select a different due date. This causes payments to be delayed and Discover is able to collect more interest. Also they have a very very unique feature if you make an overpayment. You have to choose whether you want your overpayment to be applied to principal ( which does not lower your next payment ) or your can select to pay more on your next months total due. So, in this scenario you can either pay over and not reduce your next months bill, or you can make an overpayment and Discover will " Hold '' onto this until the next month, nevermind that you are still being charged interest.
I have an impeccable credit score and have not a late payment in over 20 years until Discover Personal Loans came along and their system was able to confuse me long enough to make my first late payment in over 2 decades.
Discover is perpetuating a fraud against the American public plain and simple.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: Without my authorization or knowledge, a Discover card employee erroneously started a dispute on a charge for airline tickets. Discover claims that they have cancelled the dispute. However, the airline shows neither the dispute nor cancellation. I have it in writing that Discover cancelled the dispute. However, my flight is at risk because the airlines have no record of the cancelled dispute. I have been on the phone with the airline and Discover for over 3 weeks and I believe there is still a problem in that my airline tickets reservation is still at risk, according to the airline. Despite telling Discover this, all they will do is issue me a {$100.00} credit, which is appreciated. However, the airline told me that Discover should be able to contact the airline online to cancel the erroneous dispute. Discover claims that they don't know how to do this and don't need to and keep trying to assure me that all is well and that my flight is confirmed. Despite my calling Discover again today to tell them that I am receiving an email from the airline that is asking me yet again to confirm my flight and Discover card payment for the flight, Discover is trying to placate me by telling me all is well. All is not well and I don't appreciate that they will not let me talk to anyone in authority except for low-level supervisors who try to placate me. Discover has offered to refund me my money if my flight is cancelled. That's not the issue. I don't want a refund. I want my flight assured. I also want to file a formal complaint against Discover for initiating a dispute without my authorization and for the way that they have mishandled their mistake in the past 3 weeks. I see no way on the website to initiate a formal complaint against Discover. If they treat people like me ( and my spouse ) who have been long-time customers and have extremely high credit ratings, I shudder to think how they treat marginal customers. I seek the opportunity to speak with the head of billing for Discover, despite their underlings saying that " they have other things to do besides talk to customers. ''

Complaint: Communicated with discover in regards to my credit card being closed as a result of me being unable to pay due to Hurricane Irma and me being extremely sick and in and out of the hospital received a letter stating I had until XXXX to clarify such matter I had contacted them a couple days ago was told if I pay around {$140.00} that my card would at least be reinstated a credit was issued and a foregivness fee on interest they then took said payment over the phone I am now at a - {$1.00} odd credit on my balance meaning I owe nothing yet I called back up and was told my card can not be reopened I was told since this debt is now paid up I would be able to get another card by reapplying of course I said I had the secured version and I know I wouldnt be the requirements of the unsecured they proceeded to say secured cards have to be applied for online I proceeded to do so imputed my income and was then denied for said secured card
