Complaint: I often times pay this credit card ahead of time and I have never been delinquent. I paid them {$1000.00} ahead of time to cover expenses while I was going to be away from home closing an apartment in XXXX that I needed while I was receiving medical care but was finished with treatments. The company received my payment but in only 10 days turned around and sent my payment back to me and I thought my bills were paid. I am an elder with no help at all and I knew my time would be very full packing, putting everything in storage and returning to XXXX and believed my bills during the time were covered but Capitol One turned me in for no payment when that was not true! That dropped my credit score a huge amount and I need my credit restored. I called and changed my address and they said they had my XXXX address but I never received a bill and my address was never corrected. I am an elder and I am not accustomed to checking my bills online, I do want paper bills since they must be turned in for accounting. I have been a very long term customer but now I DO NOT trust Capitol One, I have been an excellent customer and I am not late on my payments but Capitol One sabotaged me. I need this rectified and I can't afford for them to punish me for paying ahead of time.

Complaint: There are two issues in my account that I tried to address with Capital One but I was not able to due to being transferred to multiple departments in their call center. The first issue is that I requested a credit balance refund check for credit of XXXX on the account and I was told they are not able to send it because their is a restriction on the account, I mistakenly over paid on the Capital One bill and wanted to get a refund for my funds. The second issue is regarding a dispute ; XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX TUITION - T Other ... - XXXX - {$11000.00} After I made the dispute and before the dispute was processed. The merchant issued a credit on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX TUITION - T Other ... XXXX - {$8600.00}. So I called to cancel the dispute with Capital One but Capital One still credited my account XX/XX/XXXX PURCHASE ADJUSTMENT Other XXXX XXXX. ... XXXX {$11000.00} for this charge I asked to be canceled. On XX/XX/XXXX ADJ-XXXX XXXX XXXX TUITION - T Other XXXX XXXX. ... XXXX - {$8600.00}, Capital One made this adjustment to the account, they also sent me a letter stating that they canceled the dispute because the merchant issued credit. However the issue right now is that the merchant XXXX XXXX XXXX is telling me Capital One took {$11000.00} back although Capital One stated they canceled the dispute. The merchant asked me to get a letter from Capital One confirming that they canceled the dispute. That is what I am requesting at this point.

Complaint: I was unable to make my payments on time for my Capital One credit card due to a job loss. My job ended for a 90 period in XX/XX/2018 due to the rules of the company I was working for. It was intended that I would o back to work in XX/XX/2018. When this happened I informed Capital One that I may have some issues in making my monthly payments but would be back on track and pay any past due amounts as soon as I was back to work. I kept in communication with Capital One the entire time with updates. In XX/XX/2018, I was informed that the job I was slated to go back to was delayed until XX/XX/2018. I informed Capital One. I was informed on XX/XX/2018 that the job I was slated to go back to was no longer available to go back to. I informed Capital One again and even made a {$300.00} payment on XX/XX/2018 to pay all past due amounts and get the account current. I began searching for work and informed Capital One that I would not be able to make monthly payments until I found work. I found work in XX/XX/2018 and paid all past due amounts as well my current XXXX payment with a payment of {$330.00} on XX/XX/2018. I made an additional payment on XX/XX/2018 of {$87.00} to cover my XXXX monthly payment only to find that my credit card was placed in a restricted status by Capital One. I called and spoke to representatives at Capital One beginning on XX/XX/2018 to find out why my card was restricted when I had everything paid up to date and to have the restriction lifted. I was told by Capital One that my card was restricted because back in XX/XX/2018 my account had become 120 days delinquent. When I made the XX/XX/XXXX payment of {$300.00} I was offered a program to have the restriction lifted. The rules of the program were that I would have to make 3 consecutive on time payments to have the restriction lifted. I was NEVER informed of this program or it's rules and was done without my agreement because at that time I didn't have a job and therefore could never commit to making on time payments. I was also informed that this program started in XX/XX/2018. Capital One also informed me that they would not lift the restriction because I was placed in a program and did not adhere to the rules of making 3 consecutive on time payments. The issue is that Capital One refuses to lift the restriction on my credit card because I did not adhere to the rules of a program that I was never notified I was in. They claim they sent me a letter on XX/XX/2018 but the letter was never received by me. They claim that the letter would have also been online when I went to my account and to this day there are no documents online. I am basically being punished for breaking rules of a program I was fraudulently placed in to begin with and that is wrong on all levels.

Complaint: Complaint on Capital One bank : I applied for a 360 money market account with Capital One in XX/XX/2018. They were running a {$500.00} checking bonus promotion, and the requirements were to deposit {$50000.00} between XX/XX/2018 and XX/XX/2018. I made two deposits of {$25000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and {$25000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, and so the terms and conditions are met. On the terms, it did mention that it may take up to 60 days for the bonus to be deposited into the account. After the 60 days passed, the bonus was not deposited into the account. I contacted the bank today ( XX/XX/2018 ) on two separate occasions and received two drastically different responses on how I didn't meet the bonus requirements. Some of the responses even added new terms that didn't exist and contradicted one another.

Complaint: This morning, I filed a follow-up complaint ( XXXX-XXXX ) because the response to my initial complaint was a voicemail with return telephone information that did not work. I received a response to this with the exact same information - an 800 number and access code that took me to a call center where no one was able to connect me to XXXX 's extension. I tried three times without success and only increasing frustration. on the last attempt, I spoke to a woman named XXXX, who refused to even try to connect me to XXXX 's extension before I provided " verification '' but when I persisted, she finally looked up the extension number and informed me that it " was not working. '' I am not going to return any further phone calls from Capital One. This is beyond aggravating and a completely unacceptable way to treat customers who have already been on the receiving end of unfair and deceptive practices. A company of this size should be able to manage a process for returning phone calls. If Capital One wishes to respond to this THIRD complaint, use my email.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 I used points to redeem a credit on my Capital One credit card to get ahead of my balance. Once I did this Capital One took me off auto pay without notification or authorization. This caused me to miss my XXXX and XXXX payments before I discovered it. The payments were immediately rectified from my end, but Capital One refused to correct the status of my account. This has led to a drop in my credit score over 80 points in the last 2 weeks. I have submitted disputes with Capital One, XXXX, XXXX and a complaint to the XXXX. Capital One has reached out twice since I submitted the XXXX complaint but my case worker is not available when I call back. Messages have been left and I tried talking to other employees who told me they would notify her I called her back. Capital One needs to be held responsible for their unethical actions. They have thrown my current job search into chaos and I am having to explain their unethical business practices to everyone I am interviewing with.
