Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, {$3100.00} was charged on my Capital one Credit Card. It was rent for an apartment for the month of XX/XX/XXXX. The Real Estate Agent refused to allow me to see a copy of the Lease before making the application and deposit. I relied on Capital One to return my deposit in the event the Real Estate Agent did not deliver the apartment as agreed. The Real Estate Agent did not deliver as agreed because she submitted to me a Lease that had different terms and conditions than what she promised. I immediately asked for my deposit back and she refused. I asked Capital One to cancel the transaction. Capital One initially credited my account, but reneged stating that I did not show them proof that the owner did not approve the Lease. I spent more then 2 hours with Capital One on the telephone during several calls trying to get them to re-credit my account. I explained to them the following : The merchant lied in their response to Capital One in saying that the application and deposit states there will be no refund. The deposit application clearly states '' the down payment is refundable to the applicant in the event the application is rejected by the apartment owner '' The merchants response contains a second lie when it claims the client canceled at the last minute. The request for the refund was made within 24 hours of delivery of the Lease with different terms and conditions then was agreed upon. The merchants delivery of a Lease inconsistent with what was promised is in fact a rejection of a application and a counter offer to Lease on different terms and conditions. Therefore, under the terms of the application, the deposit should be refunded. I never received the apartment even though I paid in full for it and there was never a Lease signed. The merchant refused to present the Lease with the application and then later presented a Lease with different terms and conditions which was never signed. Capital One needs to re-credit my account in the sum of {$3100.00}.

Complaint: I open a credit card with Kohl around in XX/XX/XXXX, they told me that they closed the account because I haven't use the card in 36 months, well that's was ok with me, but they also told me I can apply for a new one. So Saturday XX/XX/XXXX I was ordering some shoes online and apply for a credit card, and the response I got back from them is that I already have a open account, so I call them and they are telling me my account is closed, and I told them no it not because it showing in there data base that it's open. I ask them to send me a conformation letter stating it is closed and they refuse to do. They have my personal information floating around in there system, number one they did not sent me a letter saying they closed the account, and they still won't give me paper work confirming to me it closed. I believe something fraudulent is going on. I do have a copy of the screenshot they sent to me. I just want my account completely closed and I am no longer want a credit card from them or do any business with them.

Complaint: Applied for a credit card to be subsequently denied because " Based on your application information, application submitted is incomplete or can not be verified ''. Upon contacting Capital One they said my form of ID was not valid and could not be verified within their system despite my ID being a Georgia State issued Commercial Drivers License. I spoke to the following agents at the fraud detection department ; XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX & XXXX ( who just hung up on me. All agents were incredibly disrespectful, all agents said that my application was denied and they couldn't tell me why my ID couldn't be verified and advised me to reapply, I asked them to please just look into my ID issue and forget about my application and the rudely refused. XXXX started bickering with me when I mentioned that a CDL ( commercial drivers license ) is an even higher rated type of ID than a regular one and she said its not because her dad has one and she looked it up on the internet, dismissing the fact that I am a CDL Holder and I own a XXXX XXXX that hires other CDL owner and I know what I'm talking about. She proceeded to tell me that no one was going to be able to look into this for me. XXXX told me the same thing not before speaking to me in an incredibly condescending manner, saying that he could not provide me with " life advise '' when I was not asking for that rather for someone to look at my ID and figure out what went wrong. He transferred me to XXXX who just hung up right after answering.

Complaint: XX/XX/19. In the week before XX/XX/19 I logged on to my Capital One account to pay my monthly bill. C1 's 1-time security pin for log on was sent, as usual, to my email account ; I logged on successfully and paid my bill.
XX/XX/19. I attempted to log on to my C1 account and found that C1 had removed the option for email delivery of a 1-time log on security pin, leaving text/voice delivery to my phone. C1 HAD AT NO TIME INDICATED THAT DELIVERY OF A 1-TIME SECURITY PIN TO EMAIL WAS TO BE DISCONTINUED. I had admittedly omitted to inform C1 when I changed my phone number four years ago. On XX/XX/19 I phoned C1 to inform them that I could no longer log on to my account due to 1 ) THEIR REMOVAL OF EMAIL TO RECEIVE 1-time log on security pin and 2 ) change 4 years ago of my telephone number. I requested that C1 update my phone number. The clerk indicated he would indeed update my phone number.
XX/XX/19. Still unable to log on : phone number NOT UPDATED, no option to receive 1-time log on secure pin via my email. C1 asked for my drivers license as proof of identity and said it would phone me in 72 hours to resolve inability to log on to my account. My case number for providing my drivers license ( which I did ) and communicating to C1 on this issue is # XXXX.
XX/XX/19. I have not heard from C1. I wrote to C1 indicating I would not be responsible for late payment of XX/XX/19 ( please note I pay my bill IN FULL monthly ) as I can not log on to my account.
BOTTOM LINE : C1 changed its online User Interface and log on procedures without warning ; I have been prevented, now for 2 weeks, from logging on to my account and paying my bill of XX/XX/19. I clearly can not get any resolution from Capital One. Please advise.

Complaint: To my knowledge, I was never late on my Kohl 's credit card with account number XXXX. But I realized that I was reported as being 30 days past due in XX/XX/XXXX which is not true. I have had this credit card since XX/XX/XXXX with no late payments and not sure why all of a sudden I was reported late. To my knowledge I have always have 100 % positive payment history and have not only tried to pay way before my due date, but also have tried to pay more than the minimum amount.

Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Complaint: I went to return both my instore and online purchases today and was not helped as expected. I ordered a watch a couple of weeks ago and paid XXXX. I also received XXXX in kohls cash for buying the watch. I turned around and bought items online and realized the XXXX spent did not get 30 % off. I talked to someone at the corporate office who said because I used Kohls cash no discount applied and did tell me if I want to return all item I could but to get full refund I need to wait for my online order to be delivered return it so I would get kohls cash back then return the ring and I would get full refunds as I was going to cancel my account and wanted full refunds. Today I go and manager XXXX argued me so bad customers scolded him and told him he should take care of me. All I wanted was my full refund on the ring I returned it and was given the refund of XXXX and told spend the kohls cash of XXXX to get the difference back I advised I want to buy nothing more and XXXX at the corporate office original said he should be able to void the cash and give me full refund but when he asked her how o do it she changed and said no refund would be given. Kohls is supposed to have hassle free returns and now I'm out XXXX in real money I plan not to use this Kohls cash. I want my full refund. Please HELP!

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I order siding from XXXX. About 5 days later I received my receipts in the mail and noticed it was not what I ordered. I called XXXX and told them of the wrong items and was told they would cancel the order. Over the next several months I kept getting emails saying more of the wrong ordered arrived at XXXX. I immediately would call XXXX letting them know that that order was canceled but still the emails kept coming. So, I disputed the transaction but still the emails kept coming. After about 2 months, and while it was being disputed for over month, XXXX shipped the wrong items anyway. Now they are saying I owe them {$3000.00} in restocking fees and delivery fees. Just for the record, the person at XXXX admitted they made a mistake by sending the order and apologized and said they would pick it back up which they did.
Now I'm asking CFPB to get involved because the credit card company that I disputed this transacting with, I don't believe, is even reviewing this case. I was initially told by the credit card company It normally takes 30 to 45 days to hear back from them, no problem. I sent them my statement and about 30 to 45 later they denied my claim. They wanted me to send them more info so I did, still denied. They asked again for more info so I faxed them more info on XX/XX/XXXX and by XX/XX/XXXX they denied my dispute again. Personal I think this is fraud on their part. Please look in to this for me. If you need anything please let me know. Thank you

Complaint: I am filing a complaint in order to escalate the dispute process. I am disputing a repossession as reported by Capital One Auto Finance, account # XXXX, opened XX/XX/XXXX, balance reported {$5300.00}, original loan balance {$17000.00}. The reason I am disputing this is because the data furnisher was grossly non-compliant with California statutes : Notice of Seizure Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 7507.10, Inventory of Personal Effects Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 7507.9, Notice Before the Sale Cal. Civ. Code 2983.2, Reinstating the Loan Cal. Civ. Code 2983.2. 2983.3, Redeeming the Vehicle Cal. Civ. Code 2983.2, Furthermore, I wrote Capital One Auto Finance directly on XX/XX/XXXX to demand that copies of the above notices be mailed to my home address within 14 days. They did not comply, I have received no such correspondence. This leads me to believe these notices never existed, along with the fact that I never received them. I also wrote XXXX and XXXX directly, return receipt mail, to notify them that since Capital One was in gross non-compliance with the California statutes above, that they should update my credit reports for accuracy. They have failed to do so. This complaint is to address Capital One 's data furnishing negligence and willful misconduct. I am hoping that directly disputing Capital One 's data furnishing practices will be sufficient to resolve this matter.

Complaint: I have an older loan with Capital One for an XXXX and and a newer loan with Capital One for a XXXX. When I obtained the XXXX loan I requested a loan with identical due date and auto pay as the XXXX loan. I pay a small amount additional payment each month to be applied to the principal for a less interest charge the next month. This has worked perfectly with the XXXX. The XXXX is a different story. I paid my monthly payment on the due date of the first of the month from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. I paid an additional amount of {$15.00} a month to be applied to principal. I find out today that they have not been applying the additional principal but instead they have been just crediting it towards my next payment. I think this is terribly dishonest and just a way to keep my additional money without crediting the principal. They have " explained '' that it is because the payment is due on the XXXX for the XXXX and the XXXX for the XXXX. They say that they have 2 days extra time to apply the additional principal payment for the XXXX but since I pay the payment due on the first on the first they can not apply it to the additional principal but instead apply it toward the next month 's payment. I believe that if my payment is due on the first and I pay it on the first they should apply it towards my principal otherwise what is the point of paying an additional amount? This seems like utter nonsense to me. If this is the case Capital One should have set up the payment as I requested identical to my previous loan. They are basically just holding my additional payment with no value to me only value to them.

Unexpected increase in interest rate
Complaint: Capital One XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX IL XXXX. When I got the credit card in XXXX I signed on for 23 % interest no annual fee on the internet. In XXXX they charged an annual fee of {$19.00}, I disputed that couldn't find my copy of the terms, until recently. Since I started paying and not using the card the interest rates it has increased 1.6 % every year since without notification.
I called and spoke to Capital One, XX/XX/XXXX customer service in XX/XX/XXXX because the interest rate rose to 27.65 %, she stated they would lower my interest rate on sales back to 23.15 % and it would stay at 27.15 % on sales for 6 months, I said ok. I received a letter around XX/XX/XXXX stating I agreed to a variable rate, which I never agreed too.
On that day she went to reading me about a variable rate and I was told if I didn't agree my interest rates would return to 26.65 % for all purchases. This has happen to several friends and family with credit cards. My credit score continue to rise, but these interest rates steady rise, is this legal? I never thought Capital One would do this, one thing I learned when applying for a Credit card never do it electronically I will stick to paper. I have uploaded statements from Capital One showing the rises in interest rates and I never was notified of the increases until they switched me to variable rate in XX/XX/XXXX by force.
