Complaint: Hello, several months ago I called Capital One to update my name from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( my name changed due to marriage ). I provided Capital One with all required documentation. My name was changed successfully - I was issued new cards with my correct name for all of my credit cards and debit cards. My husband called Capital One about a week ago to request new checks on our joint Capital One Interest Online checking account. We received the checks earlier this week. When we reviewed the checks, my name was spelled incorrectly with the former spelling ( XXXX XXXX ). We called Capital One to inquire as to what happened. We were told that while my name was updated for all of my credit cards and 360 bank account, the name was not changed with the Interest Online checking account. So we asked the rep to simply look at the existing accounts that I have and make the name update, to which we were told Capital One can't do that without proper documentation ( marriage certificate and drivers license ). We advised the rep that we've already worked with Capital One to provide everything needed for all my other accounts and the rep advised that he still couldn't do it because " the procedures for the Interest Online checking account are different ''. I've attached a copy of my marriage certificate and drivers license to this complaint. I'm not sure why one area of Capital One can not talk to the other, but can someone please update my name on our Interest Online checking account to XXXX XXXX XXXX and reissue us a new set of checks with the correct name? Thank you.

Complaint: I opened a business credit card with a promotional 0 % interest rate for 9 months. Card was issued on XX/XX/2019 and email indicated the promotional rate of 0 % was good for 9 months. There was no fine print in the email confirmation I received indicating their terms would require the total outstanding balance of the 8th monthly statement would have to be paid to avoid incurring interest charges. I should have had until the due date of that 9th statement ( XX/XX/2019 ) before any interest was charged. However, with the 9th statement on XX/XX/2019 ( less than 9 months from when the card was opened ), the company charged me interest on the ending statement balance. When I called, they advised me that the fine print of the promotional literature I should have received in the mail indicated I had to pay off that balance on or before the due date from the 8th statement, not the 9th ( meaning pay it off by XX/XX/2019 ) which is actually less than 9 months, and that there was no additional grace period. I called to get the issue resolved, and the company did agree to credit back the interest charge, but would not correct the grace period end date. I've dealt with 0 % interest offers from a number of other credit card companies, and they always offer that interest rate through the due date for the payment due associated with the 9th statement, not the 8th statement.

I learned that XXXX XXXX XXXX has been furnishing debts bought from Capitol One Bank and attempting to collect these invalid debts from me. I responded to XXXX XXXX XXXX & Capitol One on XX/XX/2019, XX/XX/2019, and XX/XX/2019 via certified online mail with a cease and desist letters and I also sent a certified letter asking them to furnish proof of standing. They both have failed to respond to either of my requests. Due to their negligence and inability to accurately respond to my requests, I will be pursuing legal action against Capitol One and XXXX XXXX XXXX. My family and I are in the middle of purchasing a home. This behavior is unacceptable. The failure on behalf of the creditor, Capitol One and collection company XXXX XXXX XXXX have cause great pain for my family and I. Complaint: This is the fifth attempt to resolve with Capital One the issue about my credit card account with them. They all of the sudden on XXXX limited my card and I couldn't use it at all also there are unauthorized charges on my card that I am unable to file because of this limitation. I send them the information they requested my SSN card, MN DL and SSN verification form. I had the account for several years and there asking for this information, very disrespectful. After I sent the documents they requested they asked for my bank statement for the account I made a payment from which I refused. Now I would like to have my account closed however I can't do that before I fill a claim on the unauthorized charges on my account. Capital One is being unhelpful in resolving this issue.

Complaint: I applied for a credit card with Capital One. In response, I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX stating, in part, that : " ( W ) e were unable to verify the following information : Address '' and requested that I call immediately. After being on hold for more than 15 minutes, I spoke with " XXXX '' who told me my address was fine. They had to verify my identity and want my driver 's license. I told him that should have been requested in the letter. I also told him I refused to provide driver 's license information over the phone. I told him Capital One 's business practices were deceptive and he told me he would cancel my application. Capital One should write an honest letter and provide justification for the information they are requesting. Since other companies approve online applications, Capital One should do so too. If their application isn't complete online, they should update it or remove it.

Complaint: Hi, for the past 4 months I've been going back and forth the credit reporting agencies regarding these accounts in question and the reason for this is because I know that these accounts are being reported incorrectly. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 609 ) it is my right to challenge any account in my credit if I believe they are being reported inaccurate, unverifiable or incomplete. I believe they are and some of them have been corrected on some of the bureaus and some have not. I would like to make this complaint to show the level of urgency I have towards this matter. If you can please help I would really appreciate it. These accounts have to be deleted since they are holding my credit scores back and I'm looking to use my credit soon to make a major purchase. Complaint: I opened a Kohl 's Charge card in XXXX. Like most Americans, I sit down every two weeks and pay the bills. It's pretty simple, I open the statement, and send the payment. This Kohl 's account was no different. That is until XX/XX/XXXX. Kohl 's failed to send me a statement this month, and as such, I didn't make a payment. I never received any notice or correspondence that a payment was due, or that I was late..this is my wife 's card, so I just assumed there was no balance that month. Kohl 's waited 60 days to give me a " courtesy call '' and tell me that my payment was now 60 days late. I was floored. I paid immediately, but the company has refused to correct my credit history. This is a practice that less scrupulous card issuers use to justify raising the interest rates of cardholders that pay on time. It's a crooked business practice, and consumers should be aware not to open a Kohl 's Charge account.
