Complaint: These people don't value their customers or their relationship with them. I disputed XXXX XXXX dollars worth of authorized charges on my credit card account from a lawyer who ended up scamming me after we paid for his services. I went through the whole disputes process, and Capital One Disputes department didn't accept my proof of me being scammed which is in black and white. I showed them several pages from the court transcripts, showing by the attorney 's very own words that he was unprepared, and did not file a motion prior to court which had he done, the case very well may have been won. It also showed that what he claimed he didn't know, all the sudden after getting my last dollar, he very well did know, because the prosecutor and judge stated it twice in the court room ... And even with that, they said I didn't submit enough proof and they needed a second opinion. So I provided them with a second opinion. And THAT wasn't good enough! All because it was in the form of an email, and not a written notarized letter! My current lawyer wrote his email that I had showed them free of charge for me. Obviously if he took the time to write a physical letter and get it notarized, he would've charged me. And I already paid {$600.00} for this dispute. I wasn't about to pay more money.. For what? For them to just say yet again that they needed more information?? Ridiculous!! The court transcripts were plenty of proof, but that wasn't good enough. Seems as though they automatically favored the merchant, as all he stated was, " She agreed to our terms and conditions. '' That was apparently enough for them to deny my claim.. Seriously?? Here I am paying XXXX XXXX freakin dollars for actual court documents, and taking the time to explain everything and point out my proof in the transcripts.. This guy responds with a measly few words, putting no real effort into his rebuttal at all, and they just go in his favor??? XXXX!!! I left a bad review on Capital One 's XXXX page. The person running the page claimed they sent my information over to their partner team within Capital One, whatever that means ... Someone called me alright. And as usual, got absolutely nowhere with my blood boiling and precious time wasted. Told me the reason they denied my claim was because the charges are " too old '' ... XXXX. I've been sent several letters regarding my dispute, and they all say it's because they need a " second opinion '', which I've already provided them with. All of the agents I would get on the phone would tell me the same thing as well. And the charges apparently weren't too old back when I filed the claim months ago, or they would've never processed my dispute to begin with. They would've just told me right then and there that the charges were too old to dispute. It's clear that Capital One will come up with anything they can to not do their job when it comes to helping and protecting their customers.

Complaint: Hello, We previously had a credit card with Capital One in my wife 's name, 'XXXX '. We had some difficulty and fell behind, then the account went to collections. We received a letter in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX offering a settlement on behalf of Capital One for account ending in XXXX ( Ref # XXXX ). The original amount of debt is {$1900.00}, but they were offering a settlement in the amount of {$990.00} in 12 monthly payments of {$82.00}. We started making payments in XX/XX/XXXX. Since then we have made three payments and the fourth is currently in the mail. The letter stated at the end of this process they were going to provide a letter stating our debt has been resolved. We have not received any other communication from either XXXX XXXX XXXX or Capital One since we started making payments. On XX/XX/XXXX we received a summons from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on behalf of Capital One ( File # XXXX ). The Summons and Complaint is seeking the full {$1900.00} minus {$82.00}. Now we are confused. We have been making payments and the checks have been getting cashed or cleared for three months. The fourth payment is in the mail. Suddenly, we receive this summons. There is definitely something deceptive or unfair about this process, either from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX or Capital One. XXXX we tried to call Capital One, but was routed to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and spoke to a representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX, 'XXXX ' on XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX for File number XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) . We explained our situation and he said he could not provide any legal advice. We let 'XXXX ' know we would like to submit a complaint about this process and the treatment we are receiving. We also asked if maybe a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau may be warranted as well, but 'XXXX ' could not give us any guidance on that. He said he would route our complaint to Capital One right away and he would get back to us on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX. He did not call so I tried to contact his office, but was placed on hold and then to a voicemail. I left a message and then went to the CFPB site to file this complaint. As a follow up to this, we are submitting our letter as well as a screen capture of the checks in the amount of {$82.00} being cleared by our bank. Ideally, we would like this summons and complaint to be cleared, and we would like to continue on the agreement and terms we are currently executing or the debt to be cleared by Capital One. Complaint: Capital One promised me a 0 % promotional interest if I paid off my card by XX/XX/2019. I paid off my balance well before this date. I got charged over {$41.00} dollars for interest on a {$0.00} balance. I just spent an hour on the phone arguing with someone about this. They would not reverse the charges. As you can see on the statement, the balance was paid in full, yet I was still charged interest.

Complaint: This is the fifth time that I have reported issues with capital one, ranging from reporting my account late when they had put in a program during the terrible hurricane that hits Florida and now for a refund of atm withdrawal that was made with my card in the XXXX XXXX. They spent an entire month investigating the issues and they refunded the item back to my account on XX/XX/XXXX for {$140.00} {$160.00} and different other charges that was fraudulent on the account accompanied with interest charges etc. Now in XXXX I received a phone call from one of their agent or supervisor that says that I am calling to go over the charges that you had disputed and I believe that these charges was not fraudulent because they use your pin and no one couldnt have made these transactions if they didnt have a pin I answered sir, our belongings was stolen in our hotel rooms and no other companies gave us issues on reimbursing my money, but this guy was just rude and accusing me of stealing my own funds. First of all sir, I am a hard working man in my past when I was able to work now I am a total and XXXX XXXX veteran, I am also a XXXX XXXX XXXX and I dont take pleasure on lying or making up stories, karma is real and I will like for everyone to notice the abuse from capital one. They have my account now with a balance of {$580.00} when my limit is {$300.00} this company is just horrible, disrespectful and outright unfair to small customers.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my XXXX XXXX was involved in a total loss accident. XXXX insurance paid out the claim of approximately {$4500.00} more than the value of the vehicle. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Capital One to inquire as to why I had not received salvaged title and the amount that was over and above what was owed on the car. The rep. I spoke to stated no payment had been received on the car. When I called XXXX to request they cancel the check and re-issue payment I was told that in fact the check had cleared their bank. This loan was additionally involved in a Chapter XXXX and the payment amount was not reported to the Trustee. That is bankruptcy fraud, as they will continue to receive payments on a debt that is not owed. Capital One Auto Finance has either misapplied a payment or is hiding funds.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I started a secured card with Capital One with a deposit of {$500.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I paid my balance in full and closed the Capital One account. Today it is XX/XX/XXXX and I have not yet received my {$500.00} deposit back. I have called Capital One three times, starting XX/XX/XXXX. On this first call I was told to call back again in a week to expedite the return of my deposit. On XX/XX/XXXX I called again and the representative acknowledged that I did have a {$500.00} credit and that the account was closed with XXXX balance. I was told that I would receive my security deposit back on XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX, deposited to my checking account. This did not happen. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I called again and was told by a robot that I had a {$500.00} credit and that I would receive this money in 60 to 90 days. At every contact I get a different story. On this call I asked for 'representative ' and got a human on the line. I explained the above and she told me that I did have a {$500.00} credit on my closed account but I takes two billing cycles to process. I pointed out that I has been two billing cycles but she said it wasn't because the cash I tendered on XX/XX/XXXX was not posted until XX/XX/XXXX. Her promise was I would receive a check in 7 to 10 days. Is this another lie?
