Complaint: My father died on XX/XX/18. I have probated his estate and have been appointed Executrix. I have called and forwarded all required documents to Capital One on several occasions in order to obtain a XXXX and have the funds released to me. I have made numerous calls and was finally told approximately 2 weeks ago that I didn't need to wait until the CDs matured to receive the money and a check would be issued and sent to me. Today, I called the bank to see the status and was kept on hold for hours and no one was able to ascertain the status of the checks and/or account. It is clear to me that this bank intends to hold on to my money for as long as it can and has no interest in releasing the funds despite being legally obligated to do so.

Complaint: Capital One called me of a period of 6 months everyday between 7 am and 9 am Hawaii standard time hounding me to pay my credit card bill when I asked them to stop calling me and harassing me also the calls were from XX/XX/2018 to XX/XX/18 daily even after I Asked them to stop calling me and put my name on the do not call register I have hundreds of calls from them which is a violation of the law all which are on my voicemail. I finally had to block them but I am still receiving calls please help me this is unacceptable their harassment.

As a consumer I would like to work with them to come to some accord that would be equitable for both parties but they will not negotiate or work with me at all.

Complaint: RE : Fraudulent charges on teenager account Claim was denied Account in question : my daughter XXXX ( XXXX year old ) On XX/XX/XXXX, I received emails ( attached ) regarding unusual activity on XXXX account. I call the bank after I log in from my app on my phone and see all these activities that are clearly not my daughters. As I talk to the agent, I find out from XXXX that her card is missing and the last transaction she recalls is purchasing food at XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Someone stole XXXX XXXX card and logged online to make mobile check deposits : XX/XX/XXXX check amount {$1400.00} reversed on XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX check amount {$3400.00} rejected on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX had {$15.00} on her account on XX/XX/XXXX and was never able to charge more than what is available her card would decline if she tried.
Other charges and deposits were made all between the first and the XXXX of XXXX by the perpetrators.
1. XX/XX/XXXX Cash deposit of {$3.00} ( Monday ) Capital One in XXXX we live in XXXX XXXX and this is a school day and we have never been to branch.
2. XX/XX/XXXX Debit card purchase {$1.00} ( Sunday ) 3. XX/XX/XXXX Debit card purchase {$1.00} ( Sunday ) 4. XX/XX/XXXX Debit card purchase {$100.00} ( Tuesday ) On XX/XX/XXXX, one agent and her supervisor both told me that my daughter was called by the claim department and she confirmed she made the charges. I assured them that was untrue and they came back on the line and said that it was actually from the original conversation I had with them on XX/XX/XXXX.
I am so disappointed that the conclusion was that actually my XXXX year old daughter made all these transactions while living 45 minutes from XXXX and being in high school all day and without having the card in her possession.
The claim is closed and I received a letter stating that the charges are our responsibility. I called the claim department and was promised full details of the investigation and never received it. I would like to have someone resolve this issue.

Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Complaint: I have a secured capital one card and it's a New account. I was required to pay {$49.00} deposit for {$200.00} credit limit, which I did pay {$50.00} in total and opened the account. Before i activated my card I deposited another additional {$200.00} deposit to capital one & this deposit was done XX/XX/XXXX and cleared my bank account XX/XX/2019 my deposit should have been available 7-10 business days from XX/XX/XXXX, it's now going on 4 weeks and I have been contacting capital since XX/XX/XXXX to see where my deposit is and I'm getting the run around and they're talking about they can't find my deposit. How can't you find a customer deposit? At This point as me being a customer it feels like I'm being rob of my money. I could of just just added it to my XXXX card account which is better. I gave capital one more then enough time to research what happened to my deposit they took and since XXXX still nothing it's almost mid XXXX

Complaint: We had our credit report pulled and noticed that Capital One posted a late payment on our record. We reached out to them to ask that the derogatory reporting of XX/XX/19 be removed from the credit file. The item was removed. We applied for a home loan and the credit file was clear on the initial report. Once we were in our final stages of closing our financial institution ran the report again and the derogatory reporting showed back up on the report, which caused us to be ineligible for our home loan. We currently have thousands of dollars tide up in a home loan and will lose the money if this is not corrected. We reached out to Capital One and they stated there was nothing they could do.

I have to call the credit bureaus to unlock before I can apply, and I got a notice that I was denied when I wasn't intending to apply for the credit card at Capital One. Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX has purchased an account from Capitol One that the person has similar names ; however, is not me. When asked in what was the social security number for the person the worker researched and said they did not have a social security number on file for this account. I asked them how could that be for all my accounts I have my social security number attached to them. After that call the lady had the account removed from the credit report stating she did not believe it was me. A few years later i started getting harassing charges and the representative was trying to get me to write fraud on the account but I refused because I stated to them how do I know its fraud on me if my social is not on this. it was then taking off of my other credit report only to reappear on another credit report a few months ago. Please help this is so annoying. Al my credit cards are up to date and I have not missed a payment on none of these accounts. this bad report is messing up my score and it is not okay. I have worked hard on my credit so no account that doesn't belong to me should be on there.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I had a statement balance due of {$3000.00} on XX/XX/2019. I made a payment for the current balance due of {$4200.00} from my banks savings account on XX/XX/2019. I received a confirmation of payment email from my credit card company on XX/XX/2019. I received a " payment posted '' email from my credit card company on XX/XX/2019. On XX/XX/2019 I received an email from my credit card company stating that my payment was past due. After speaking with my credit card company, I was told that they posted my payment & credit my account with the balance paid " in good faith '' that my bank would pay the charge. Since I wasn't notified that my bank did not make the payment until several days after my payment was due, I was charged interest for non payment. This seems unfair as I should have been notified sooner that their was a problem with my payment to give me a chance to correct it before incurring interest.

Complaint: Reports on XXXX XXXX by Capital One Bank, reporting to XXXX listing dark web information found on the credit report. Being denied employment through credit check processing indicating misleading and inaccurate personal behavior misstatements from non financial reporting. In 2018, reported dark web information found to FBI and filed a report as information is incorrect, improper use of email address, identity theft as email address. There are no billing statements, transaction of financials with the Capital One Bank or any other crediting bank. The email listed is registered on job boards, public websites such as XXXX for employment. Currently, XXXX XXXX provided by XXXX is reporting as a Negative on the credit report on personal information found on a dark web search. I have taken the necessary steps in reporting to the authoritative agencies about this event and have filed claim to the FBI claiming Personal Identifiable Information, Defamation, and Identity Theft.

Complaint: ON XX/XX/2019 at approximately XXXX I applied for a business credit card online through spark capital one. The application asks for my EIN number. It also asks for my social security number under the owner. When I put the cursor on the? under ss. It states that it was only asking for your social security number for identification purposes only. As soon as I submitted the application, I got an email on my credit alert. It stated I received an inquiry and my credit went from exceptional to good because it lowered my points with the inquiry. I called Capital One immediately and was told that this was part of the process. I explained to her that it was misleading. I have 4 cards with capital one already and this account was strictly business. I pride myself on being responsible with my credit and not over using not getting too many inquiries. She would not remove it saying this is the process. I NO LONGER WANT a business card with them. I am LIVID!!!!
