Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX-I contacted Capital One bank regarding fraudulent charges from my checking account. I live in Maryland and someone had stolen my credit card number and had created a new card in California. They helped themselves to my checking account over the course of three years totaling over {$24000.00} in fraudulent charges. These purchases were made at the same 3-4 gas station three times a week in XXXX, CA, XXXX, CA, XXXX CA, and XXXX, CA. The amounts were ranging from $ XXXX {$74.00} per transaction. I contacted Capital One and disputed the charges.The agent XXXX, was able to pull my account and informed me that someone had created a new card with a different number that was linked to my account. Because there were so many transactions they referred me to their fraud department. I submitted 10 different claims with them totaling 440 transactions from my account. XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX I received 10 different letters from Capital one denying my claims stating " We finished looking into your claim and didn't find that any error had happened. '' I called Capital One back and requested to speak with the investigator. He then proceeded to tell me that back in XX/XX/XXXX I was issued a temporary card, and that the temporary card was what was used to make the fraudulent charges. In his explanation I was to be held responsible for the charges because the temporary card was issued to me. I explained to him that I live in Maryland and have not traveled to California, nor do I have any family members/friends that are in California. These charges were not authorized.

Complaint: I opened an Capital One secured credit card on XX/XX/2019 and paid two separate deposits of {$49.00}, a total of {$98.00} and a few days later I decided against the idea of a secured credit card so I called and canceled it. The representative told me that Capital One will refund me my {$98.00} deposit via a check within 2 weeks but they never did, Ive called several times over the last 2 months and I keep getting excuses on why I havent received my refund followed by the representatives telling me just give it two more weeks, theyll make sure I get it this time I just dont know why a financial institution as big as Capital One is trying to steal {$98.00} from me.

Complaint: I would like to update complaint # XXXX submitted on XX/XX/19 : I received a call ( XX/XX/XXXX ) from Capital One the day after the complaint was filed. I was assured that my refund from my secured card would be processed and the check would be cut and sent to me by Saturday ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I received a call on Friday from a representative in what they called the Executive offices on Friday, I tried to call several times and when I dialed her extension, it was always a busy signal. I finally called and requested any Executive representative to help me, I spoke to XXXX who I let him know I was trying to get to a certain representative. He looked into my account and said that they have not cut the credit check to me because they needed to confirm my address and to ask if I would like the check cut! I again said YES, please send me the credit check on my account that has been closed for over a month. He now assures me that I will receive the check in 7-10 days. Lots of apologizing and no reason given for keeping my {$420.00} for so long. How can a company hold hostage money that is due to a customer.

Complaint: Capitol one recently started allowing the transfer of their reward points to airline frequent flyer programs. Their points are valued by capital one at XXXX cent per point. I currently have XXXX points and change. Capital one sent me an email advising me of a unique opportunity to transfer to emirates airlines. Checking that they had a flight available for my dates, I initiated a transfer of XXXX miles. a day later I discovered that capital one reversed my transfer and restricted my online access. I was informed I needed to send the following pieces of information : Drivers license, SS card, Utility bill and Frequent flyer account screenshot. All of which was done immediately. Multiple representatives informed me of a XXXX - XXXXXXXX XXXX resolution time to verify my identity and restore access. This was as of XX/XX/XXXX. It is now XX/XX/08 and I still don't have any resolution. Capital one keeps on informing me that they're reliant on a third party vendor to verify documents and until then they can't get the back end team to lift the restrictions. I can not use my credit card for any purchases in the meantime, nor can i manage my account online. Capital one has informed me that this may take as long as 4 months. I am flabbergasted that I can be subjected to such apparent abuse by a financial company who clearly is looking to get customers to forfeit their points rather than have customers redeem it.

My account was paid in full and the failure to disclose any additional interest due or fees associated with that is a violation of fair collection practice. A reps told me that is not an option when paying online. They said they will not disclose any additional fees or interest and you would have to wait until next billing statement.

Complaint: I recently purchased a $ XXXX On XXXX using my capitalone venture one card to I receive the 10x points promotion/partnership and when I didnt I called them and they said it had to be booked through a certain website but that wasnt told to me when I called in XXXX and changed my credit card to that card in order to receive the card by the individual on the phone. This was very misleading and unclear as when I called a month prior to my most recent phone call I was told if it didnt appear I could receive a 1 time addition of points to correct the issue, but to wait until the end of this billing cycle when they told me that they dont support anything like that at this time.

Complaint: I have a capital one XXXX card and the bank is not crediting my payments on the date of receipt in accordance with the Truth in Lending act section 1026.10 ( a ). for example I made a payment via web electronically thru their app of {$900.00} on XX/XX/XXXX which they received XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX ). I had to call today to get the payment " hold '' released. they wont tell me why my payments get held nor when this might stop but I know its against the law. i work in banking and I know that by holding payments, they increase their income tremendously. it needs to stop. this is the third tome in a month I've had to call to get my payment credited. please tell me how to help them understand truth in lending ;
