Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I made a call to Capital One to try to resolve a fraud issue. They told me that they took the claim information and told me I would be credited back the amount I talked to them about. It is as follows : XX/XX/2019 for {$640.00}. On XX/XX/2019 they credited my account {$640.00}. They told me it was available for use. I tried to use my card and it was declined. I called back on XX/XX/2019, and the credit was removed from the account. They told me I have to wait 30 to 90 days now for them to credit my card back. They told me they took the credit back because it was still under review. I said, how do you credit someone and take the credit back right away? That makes no sense. They told me they are still investigating and gave me no valid reason for putting the credit on and removing it right away. They have been rude to me and hung up on me several times. They basically told me I have to wait. The card number I am giving you on the next page is the new card that they just issued.

Complaint: I called Capital one back in XX/XX/2019 to make arrangements for my account balance as I am XXXX and can no longer work.In addition, my husband was laid off temporarily from his jon at the XXXX due to the shutdown. There website said they have programs to help, so when I called them on XX/XX/2019 they said they would enroll me in a hardship program, and as long as I made the minimum payment every 30 days by my due date, they would report favorably to the credit bureaus. I made my payment each month before the 30 day mark and they randomly report my account past due for months it has not been. I have escalated this so many times and they say there is nothing they can do to help me and they clAim they can not find the call, even though I have given them the date many times. They refuse to honor their payment arrangement. I even tried to enroll in debt management since they refuse to honor the arrangement and they denied it saying I can not participate. At this moment they have denied all attempts I have made to pay and refuse to keep their own word to honor their arrangement. I am looking for an attorney to help me in this matter. I would like for capital one to update my credit report for reporting me late when I was not for XX/XX/2019, XX/XX/2019, and for some reason now XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2019. Their corporate is no help and doesnt help, but says sorry there is nothing we can do to help you, go file bankruptcy.

Complaint: In XXXX I received a fraud alert from Capital One about 2 charges made to my account on the same day ( XX/XX/19 ) at a XXXX and XXXXt in XXXX, NJ for {$240.00} and {$220.00}. I immediately verified I had the card in my wallet and reported this as fraud. The charges were removed. This month I saw the charges had been re-added to my acct. Upon speaking with a rep ( ultimately 7 of them ) at Capital One, I was told that this purchase was made in person with the chip in my card and could not be duplicated. Because I had verified that I never lost my card they were unable to consider this fraud and I am responsible for the charges. I was first told I had to " request CCTV footage '' from the stores from 3 months prior. When I requested copies of the signed receipts I was then told I had to pay a fee for each and wait 44 days to receive them. I was later told that they could not guarantee there was ever a signature required. These are large amounts and I have always been asked to sign before. I am not being provided any proof of these charges but being told adamantly that I must have made them in person and there is no other option. I am very clear that I did NOT go into either of these stores, EVER and did NOT make these purchases. It is unfair that I am responsible for {$500.00} in purchases I did not authorize or make and I am being provided NO proof of purchase but must believe what Capital One is telling me, that they are confident the purchases were made in person.

Complaint: I obtained a free annual credit report for XXXX XXXX and XXXX. Much to my chagrin I saw accounts that I do not own, name variations, social security number variations and many other items that I quickly disputed over a month ago through the proper channels via US certified mail. I have my receipts. Among the disputed items was the company XXXX XXXX XXXX, address PO BOX XXXX XXXX, SC XXXX, phone number XXXX, account number XXXX. This was listed on all of my credit reports showing a false debt in the amount of {$810.00}, with an alleged or supposed date of first delinquency on XX/XX/XXXX. This was and is horrifying to me because I am not their customer nor am I a customer of any affiliates. XXXX XXXX never mailed me, never emailed me and never called me about any account or accounts with them or any other creditor. Their fraudulent information just appeared on my credit reports. They did not comply with me or with the credit bureaus within 30 days to validate the debt. Since they did not respond to my dispute I called them to inquire and possibly dispute by phone. They said it was a Capital One account that was delinquent since XX/XX/XXXX and asked would I be scheduling a payment. XX/XX/XXXX is beyond the statue of limitations. I explained that the account did not belong to me and that I needed to speak with Capital One to find out what was going on. When I asked for the name and badge number of the XXXX rep I was speaking with she changed her story and gave a different account number XXXX, different dates and false addresses and insisted that I give her my mailing address and social security number. That was alarming so I ended the conversation with XXXX and called Capital One and asked them if I had or have an account in my name. They said if I did it could be found a few different ways and when none of the options turned up an account in my name they asked me to verify my social. I was hesitant, but I was under pressure to get this resolved with XXXX. When I gave Capital One my social they discovered 2 accounts for me, which added to my anxiety. They asked if I had any idea who would do something like this and I could not hold it in anymore. I broke down crying on the phone and shared some of the worst things I have ever experienced in my life with a stranger. The Capital One Rep said she was sorry to cause me to relive the trauma, but that she was working to have both accounts removed from all three credit bureaus and needed a good mailing address and phone number to reach me and if they needed anything else from me I could fax it to XXXX. The other account was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, VA XXXX account number CAPIT-XXXX in the amount of {$1900.00}. I have been very depressed over this because it is difficult to try to have a normal life after years of living in fear that my attackers who made my life a living XXXX may find me! I decided to check my credit reports online yesterday XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX was removed from XXXX and XXXX so apparently Capital One kept their word to have these fraudulent accounts removed from the credit bureaus in my name. I called XXXX again on yesterday XX/XX/XXXX to update them and they took me through a frightening series of unscrupulous business practices trying to pry my social security number from me, seeking to collect a debt that is not mine. They know it is not mine even after I explained to them that Capital One assured me that they would have the items removed from all credit reports as soon as possible because they verified that none of the addresses or phone numbers or email addresses used to open the accounts belonged to me ... Capital One said they could see that even the home address listed a PO Box ... Capital One asked did I know how this could have happened or who could have done this to me ... I explained to them that I am a victim of violent crime associated with gang violence. My personal information was compromised when they stole my IDs and opened accounts in my name. I am the victim in this circumstance and yet XXXX threatens to sue me and completely disregarded the fact that Capital One already acknowledged that the information on file does not match anything associated with me ... I need help to get XXXX to cooperate. They know I reached out to them almost 2 months ago with the dispute and so has the credit bureaus. XXXX needs to be removed from my credit reports and be held accountable for insubordination, non-compliance and corrupt procedures. Please help me! Concerning the statute of limitations, their representative claimed that the debt dates back to XXXX and I noticed how they refused to give her name and badge number as well and did not comment on the fact that-that was withheld from me. They also failed to acknowledge that I called them in XX/XX/XXXX when I first saw fraudulent activity related to this account on my credit reports. They show a lack of compassion. They show greed by any means necessary ... the strong desire to collect a debt that is not mine and a desire to make me go in circles ... a stunt to keep this on my credit reports. They act as if XXXX did not conduct a thorough investigation, as if XXXX did not contact them stating that the debt is fraud and the result of identity theft and therefore XXXX removed it from my credit report, along with other related items! XXXX removed XXXX XXXX from my credit report within the past few weeks the report was refreshed ... XXXX XXXX claims that this is the first time they received anything from me in writing on XX/XX/XXXX yet they acknowledged receiving correspondence from the credit bureaus in writing FROM ME ... they failed to mention that they received this information in early XX/XX/XXXX. Capital One acknowledged that the account does not belong to me ... there were 3 accounts on my XXXX credit report related to Capital One and one was in good standing though it was not mine! Capital One acknowledges that they are not my accounts ... I noticed thaXXXX XXXX XXXX also failed to admit this and that ALL of the contact information linked with the account does not match any information linked to me. This is conveniently evasive of XXXX XXXX. They are transparent. Does it make sense that this is the first time that they have been contacted by me XX/XX/XXXX? Perhaps that is a typo and they meant to say XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX ... maybe it is an oversight. Otherwise, it is gross negligence on their part. I need your help to resolve this. Now to make matters worse Capital One is not properly communicating within their various departments to help resolve this completely. XXXX was taken care of properly but not XXXX XXXX XXXX my credit report from XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX shows 3 accounts for Capital One. Two were collection accounts and one was showing good standing pays on time. I disputed all 3 and 2 out of three were removed. The problem is Capital One listed the same fraud debt twice. I have a copy- as if trying to double dip or collect twice on a fraud debt. This is illegal. They already acknowledged that the accounts were fraud to me and to XXXX and removed the one in alleged good standing that said pays on time but left the one they sold for the same debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX and now both harass me and worst of all Capital One changed the address associated with the dispute to the address linked with the account. I confronted them because they and the credit bureaus said the address on file listed a PO BOX as the residence so the accounts should have never been approved. Either they are deceitful and took advantage of my information used when disputing and switched it in their system or this is a nasty oversight. They are caught because when I disputed with XXXX Capital One sent alleged information about the account to my parents house and all of the addresses are a PO BOX listed as residence and none of the information matches any address, email or phone number of mine. Either way I need them to remove this from my credit reports with all 4 credit bureaus and never attempt to collect again.

Complaint: Capital One is reporting a business credit card account on my credit reports that does not belong to me. This credit card account belongs to the corporation, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Admittedly, I was a minority shareholder for this company, however, I didn't sign for this card. Thus, I am not the responsible party. In XXXX of XXXX, I wrote Capital One a letter explaining that I didn't sign up for this card and in my letter I requested the original contract bearing my signature. In Capital One 's response, ( please see attached ) I didn't receive a copy of the original contract or any other documentation that makes me the responsible party. Finally, on XX/XX/XXXX I called and spoke with a Capital One XXXX, XXXX, ID # XXXX. Basically, XXXX stated that there was no signed contract and that the account was established online using my information. Please keep in mind, in the most recent XXXX data breach, all of my information was accessed.

Complaint: Twice now you have closed my complaint, before any thing was resolved. Capital One has refused to discuss with me what they are using to prevent me from getting one of their cards. My credit rating shows up at 830-835, yet they claim it a little lower, but still in the 800 's. I have very little debt, but they will not give me specific reasons. I'm beginning to think that CFBP is not able to accomplish much. You just sit back and assume that because Capital One says it's resolved that you don't have to do anymore? Personally, I think I'm being discriminated against because of my age. I have had perfect credit pretty much my entire life. I work full time, and make a higher than average income. Capital One application number XXXX ; Capital One Case XXXX ; CFPB Case XXXX-XXXX. Who can I go to that has some ability to get direct and specific answers for me? The account was charged off over XXXX years ago meaning capital one received full credit or tax credit, discharging the account. I have reached out to capital one to ask them to stop violating the fair credit reporting act by not validating the alleged debt as requested. Capital one needs to remove this account from my credit report. I'm in possession of the XXXX Prospectus for Capital One XXXX Finance Trust. As we are all aware capital one does not, and did not lend money to me or any other customers. Remedy please have this company comply with the fair credit reporting act which requires all information to be 100 % accurate on my credit report. Complaint: I am a company, I had two company checks that were stolen out of the mail. The checks were written to a MO government agency. All the information was on checks they were not washed or changed. Capital one, NA bank in XXXX, VA Cashed these checks and signed these check. Capital one has a person that did not look at the 2 checks that were cashed and if they had they would see a government agency on the payee line and the Address for XXXX XXXX, mo. Also my company is in XXXX XXXX, MO XXXX So they have some one doing fraud in there banks. I started the process when I found out what had happen in XX/XX/2019 with my bank XXXX XXXX MO, A report was filled and now it is XX/XX/2019 and I have spent hours on the phone with both banks and still have not received my XXXX back. Took action on XX/XX/2019 with my bank they had a person that did not do there Job So I went up the chain and on XX/XX/2019 a report was sent to Capital one. Still have not had a response from capital one. These checks should have never been cashed and it should not take a bank this long to see that with overwhelming evidence on the back and front of the checks. That person should be jailed ...

For some reason, I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report, I called CAPITAL ONE BANK USA N and they said their system automatically put me on paperless billing, which I did not request. I was awaiting letter in the mail all this time just to find out their system had an error. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record. I tried contacting XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and CAPITAL ONE BANK USA N with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX only reporting me 30 days late. There was an error on their part. Complaint: I am disputing these charges that was charged on XX/XX/19 in the amount of {$310.00}. The rental car was never received, it was blocked by the rental car agency agent at the counter. I have contacted the travel agency/XXXX, they have refused to refund money. I never took possession of the rental car. - On XX/XX/19 arrived at the rental car counter the representative at the counter refused to release the vehicle to us. This representative explained that the rental was for local rentals only, didnt provide unlimited mileage. We would have been charged additional mileage over 100 miles. We were told that the rental was for unlimited mileage upon rental. We advised per XXXX it was for unlimited miles. - Representative still refused to release the vehicle to us. - The only reason the reservation was cancelled is due to agent refusal to release vehicle to us. Which would void out any cancellation policy due the refusal of release of the vehicle. - I was not advised of any cancellation policy at the counter with the agent in regards to the information she supplied in reference to the cancellation. - We had to make other arrangements with another rental car agency, at a higher rate, we can provide proof of the reservation with the rental agency we actually obtained a vehicle from. - I contacted Capital One on the day in question and explained the situation and advised not to go forward with payment due to agency refusal of release of vehicle. - I received no services, no rental vehicle was in my possession or has ever been with the agency in question. - The reservation/cancellation was in hours of each other, the reservation/cancellation was all processed while at the location by the agent on duty. - We had no other options of resolution, we had no options other than to book with another agency. They refused to release the car as well as refusal of unlimited miles. - Per XXXX unlimited, per agent we would be charged additional fee for miles over XXXX. - XXXX is a travel agency, maybe they need to contact their vendor due to the discrepancy in their policies due to the unlimited miles verses over XXXX miles.
