Credit cards were stopped, couldn't pay them, Did file for bankruptcy in XX/XX/2014 so now it shows we filed that as well as chapter XXXX when I didn't!
Was working to fix my credit and working hard on it!
Now it's showing that and not allowing me to pay and show my credit cards!

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: Called capital one on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXcustomer services rep XXXX refuse to transfer me doing my last contact with capital one on XXXX XXXX Capital one keeps freezing my card asking me to verify my identity. I have repeatedly done this starting in 2018. The harrassment of the company is out of hand I keep proving identity AND THERE SYSTEM WILL RELEASE THEN FREEZE MY ACCT again the keep stating the patriot act but my identity has been proven over and over this is turning into harrassment. I have had capital one card more then 3 years.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: My fiance and I decided to jointly open a credit card account. We knew we had big expenses coming up due to an upcoming wedding and figured it'd be a great time to jointly open a new card.
Our research showed that the Venture card came highly rated from various personal finance blogs we love, including XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXXt, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
In XX/XX/XXXX, we applied for and were approved for the Capital One Venture Card. Various articles and Capital One marketing materials we referred to at the time, indicated that we'd be eligible for XXXX bonus miles once we spend {$3000.00} on purchases within the first 3 months. We ended up spending a little over {$4300.00} during the first 3 months.
However, we recently noticed that we had never received the bonus miles. Upon contacting Capital One and going back to the fine print in the registration email, we realized that the deal we actually signed up for required us to spend {$5000.00} within the first 3 months, a number we just don't recall seeing on any marketing materials. We went on XXXX XXXX to verify what the rewards bonus was at the time we signed up but could only see a placeholder macro { { ESB_AMOUNT } } in place of a specific spending minimum.
This only strengthens our suspicion that Capital One frequently changes eligible minimum spending and leaves consumers confused on the deal they had signed up for. For your reference, the minimum eligible spending as of today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) is now somehow back to {$3000.00}.
We spoke to two different Capital One customer agents ( XXXX and XXXX ) over the phone, who were very firm in denying our claim. Not getting our bonus miles isn't the end of the world, of course. But something just doesn't sit right. If we were gullible enough, there may be other readers who may have fallen into a similar trap. Furthermore, we wonder if other credit card companies also employ similar misleading tactics to lure in consumers. At best, they'd be left feeling short-changed like us ; at worst, they would be in debt they incurred to meet the minimum spending, without the bonus rewards to offset the cost.

Credit card company won't work with you while you're going through financial hardship
Complaint: I had a Capital one card. Where I didn't make enough money at the time to pay the cards on time and was going through financial hardships and lack of financial education. All the cards went to collections, which I paid off the capital one and total visa cards. I set up another payment plan for the discover card.

Complaint: CAPITAL ONE- From XXXX, XXXX to XXXX, XXXX, I made numerous reports that my credit card reflected unauthorized charges. I had this card since XXXX and rarely used it as history shows. When I did use the card, the balance was paid off the following month. Attached is a copy of my credit score of XXXX from XXXX, XXXX. I filed a police report, then a restraining order as I quickly realized that this was a man I dated for a few months. It wouldnt have lasted more than a couple dates, but he was not easy to break it off with. I knew was using it because he paid his cell phone bill with my card. When I confronted him, he threatened harm to me and my daughter. He said he had connections with gang members and as I continued to pursue action against him, I started living in fear from the threats he made, he had hacked my computer, made constant drive-bys or waiting outside until police were were called. My credit card was replaced at least 6 times, but that didnt stop his ability to use it. Finally, the credit card company agreed to reverse the charges. But upon receiving my statement in XXXX, XXXX, they only reversed the charges beginning in XXXX, XXXX totaling {$2400.00}! My credit card was maxed from XXXX, XXXX to XXXX, XXXX leaving a balance of {$9300.00}. I only continued making payments in good faith that they would resolve this issue. After they reversed a measly {$2400.00} and as the threats were increasingly real, my familys safety was critical. He evaded being served for the restraining order over the course of several months and I was told that the police couldnt continue to attempt serving him, but that I would need to hire a server. We were living off of food stamps already, so I was was in no position to hire a server. Now they are seeking a judgement lien while I can barely make rent. Shame on CAPITAL ONE!

Step 1 : What is this complaint about?
This complaint is about Capital One Promotional Credit Cards Offering additional Bonus of {$150.00} to {$500.00} Dollars after using {$500.00} to {$1500.00} with the new credit card with in the first 90 days.
They offer you the promotion on one web page and when you apply apparently it takes you to another location where you are pre-qualified and without your immediate knowledge you continue the process thinking you will be receiving this bonus and it turns out that when the page switches you no longer qualify for the bonus. Or this is what was explained to me.
Regardless this is deceptive and should be unlawful Step 2 : What type of problem are you having?
Deceptive tactics being used to lure clients and prospects to apply to new credit cards and the company is getting away without fulfilling their initial commitment.
Step 3 : What happened?
I was lured by a promotion on a capital one web page and applied, got approved and some were in the process the promotion diapered and capital one is not responding for their maul practice.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I have an account with Kohls/Capital one card which I have always had an outstanding payment history with them. In XXXX 2019 I went into the Kohls store located in XXXX NY to make a payment. They assured me all was well with the payment. it will post the day I paid which was prior to the due date. In fact that is not what happened they seemed to have had technical computer issues and never posted the payment. As soon as I was made aware of this issue I resolved it immediately.
I also never received a notice in the mail in regards to my account getting a 30 day late which they are required to send.
