Complaint: I purchased my home in XX/XX/XXXX. Last year I was hit with a XXXX dollar property tax bill. The previous owner upgraded the house using a pace loan and didn't end up paying the lien off before the XX/XX/XXXXtax bill. The Missouri XXXX XXXX XXXX did everything in their power to help me. They reimbursed me XXXX dollars which was the extra amount included in my taxes. My Mortgage company on the other hand has done everything in their power to keep me paying a double mortgage rate. They did the Escrow analysis last year in XX/XX/XXXXon my loan. I started paying double the mortgage because I had to get the Escrow account back to even because of the increased property tax bill. Soon after that I found documents on the XXXX County website that stated the lien was removed from the house. I sent those documents to my Mortgage company and they told me it was not enough to prove that the lien was paid off. In XXXX they said they needed a XXXX tax bill to prove that the lien was gone. Well I waited till XXXX, paying double the mortgage the entire time, sent them the new tax bill and they paid it on XX/XX/XXXX. The last time I contacted them on XX/XX/XXXX they said that my Mortgage would drop back to normal in XXXX. I just got my latest statement and they are still charging me double. At this point I have paid more money into my escrow account than I have paid in interest and principal combined. I haven't actually " lost '' any money yet but I have been living paycheck to paycheck for the last couple months and I have had to go to bed hungry way too many times because of them. The negligence and unwillingness to help customers is pathetic. I hope that no one in this state ever has to deal with this company.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I called and sent via email to show that we paid out of pocket all taxes. I have requested and followed up for an overage of {$2400.00} owed back to us for paying out of pocket.
I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX after being told we would receive an updated analysis of our escrow by XX/XX/XXXX, never received as well as a check for reimbursement. Seemed like it was resolved.
Our account online shows they sent us a check on XX/XX/XXXX, yet did not receive it as of XX/XX/XXXX.
Our account shows they sent us our bills for more money and showing funds were removed and not put back into our account of {$2400.00} - tax rep from our county/township/school has sent back money to our escrow and they are not returning money back to us from our savings account we borrowed from. So we are not out over $ XXXX due to bank keeping funds.
I spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX who said this would be resolved and sent out analysis corrected and saw as well we were sent a check? Never got it it was never sent.
I called again on XX/XX/XXXX to be told by XXXX that they are keeping the funds into our account.
there have been a one or two other calls called by my husband as well.
We are getting a run around over money kept in excess in our escrow well over the amounts after we asked again and again to run an anaylsis for funds needed to be paid and correct our XX/XX/XXXX payment to {$1500.00} ( + ) not {$1300.00} since they cant seem to correct our bank account mortgage.
We have an account with the post office that shows us what mail we receive. Since that call in XX/XX/XXXX we only received two pieces of mail the XX/XX/XXXX payment due since we now have over {$600.00} sitting in escrow for next year and XX/XX/XXXX payment due not corrected ... yet missing our {$2400.00} refund for overage of taxes we paid from our personal savings account for taxes due due to shortage in our escrow at that time of taxes due.
I can provide copies as well showing post office and online documents received, etc ... if need be.
It just seems there seems to be an excuse after excuse and nothing receive back to us except incorrect mortgage/escrow bills ... and money now missing in our account and told it went back into our account. I tried to log back in and now I am locked out of my account online?
In 30 years of having a mortgage I never experienced such a run around and mess like this ... can I find another bank without points, etc..? What are my rights?

Complaint: My home loan with XXXX was immediately sold to Amerihome in XX/XX/2018. I have been paying into the escrow account since then, with an amount based on the new assessed value of my home.
In XX/XX/2018 I received a supplemental tax bill from XXXX county for {$8500.00} which clearly stated I am responsible for paying this bill, not my mortgage servicer. I immediately contacted Amerhome to tell them that the amount they have in my escrow account far exceeds the tax bill THEY were to pay ( {$1100.00} ), which was based on the old assessed value.
For two months, I have repeatedly called, emailed and begged them to send me the excess escrow funds, which are currently {$4800.00}.
Amerihome, and THEIR servicer, XXXX, has repeatedly claimed they have ordered new " escrow analyses. '' Amerihome sent me {$640.00} XX/XX/XXXX as a result of an annual escrow review, but this review still assumed a new, higher assessed value, NOT the actual property tax bill they received and partially paid to XXXX County. In a phone call XX/XX/XXXX, an Amerihome/XXXX representative admitted they should send me my {$4800.00} AND reduce my monthly payment for escrow/impound. My several follow up phone calls yielded no results.
Amerihome is holding my excess {$4800.00} escrow funds hostage -- funds I NEED TO PAY MY SUPPLEMENTAL PROPERTY TAX BILL WHICH IS NOW DUE! This is unlawful.

Complaint: I emailed my mortgage company and asked that they review my loan to see if Private Mortgage Insurance ( PMI ) was still required. I had reviewed my loan disclosures ( attached ) which showed the 80 % PMI requirement should have been met in XXXX, XXXX.
At the time of loan the house appraised for {$420000.00} and our loan was {$36000.00}. As of today our current principal balance is {$330000.00}. The PMI information on the lenders mortgage insurance page say we have no lates and reflects the scheduled 80 % LTV date is XX/XX/XXXX. This date seems to change from month to month. I have included the page from today 's inquiry for reference.
In the response I received from the lender ( attached ) it says the PMI will end in XX/XX/XXXX when the loan is at 78 %.
Can you confirm if this is accurate? I feel as if we are being strung along.

Complaint: In XXXX we were sent a escrow overpayment check from our mortgage company Amerihome Mortgage. In XXXX we received a statement and our payment had gone up. We called the mortgage company and they explained to use that the payment had gone up due to a shortage in our escrow because of a forced gap insurance on our policy. We asked then why there was a shortage when we had only had the house a year and it was enough to receive the mortgage. We made the payment to cover the " gap insurance '' and our mortgage went back down. Then in XXXX there was another credit for over payment. In XXXX we received a mortgage statement and our payment had gone up again. The first customer service rep told us that it was extra insurance added due to earthquake insurance. ( which is covered under our home owners and we are not on a fault line ) The next day we received another call saying it was not earthquake insurance but more flood insurance. ( which would now make twice on top of our original flood insurance we already pay ) The customer service rep stated that we pay {$2400.00} a year in insurance and we need to maybe look around for other insurance. We contacted our insurance company which states that we only owe {$1600.00} a year. When we contacted the mortgage company again the customer service rep just kept arguing and hung up on me. They are telling me that it is extra insurance but our insurance says otherwise and frankly we are at a breaking point.

Complaint: I would like to file a complaint about AmeriHome mortgage, based in CA.
We closed on our home and paid off our mortgage in full on XXXX. Prior to selling our house we had to pay all liens on it or the paperwork wouldn't go through. Because of this, we had to pay $ 3000+ in XXXX county taxes that otherwise would have been covered by escrow prior to closing. Amerihome paid our tax bill to XXXX County after we already paid it, so they were refunded the same day, XX/XX/XXXXir.
When XXXX County refunded our tax bill they did it in a lump sum, and I was given the amount that I had to reference by the county representative ( approx {$200000.00} ) in order for them to find it faster in their system. I called on the XX/XX/XXXXasking for an update and I talked to a representative that said they had to open a ticket and that they had 15 business days from the time they received the check to send out my payment - which would be by XX/XX/XXXX. I called back on the XXXX to verify - and that representative said the same thing.
On XX/XX/XXXX ( today ), I called Amerihome back, after I didn't get the check in the mail, to verify that I would be getting it by the next day. The representative that answered, XXXX, told me that what the previous two people had told me was not correct, and that although my ticket was opened on the XXXX, I would not be getting my money back until 15 business days AFTER their ticket was resolved on the XXXX. I understand policies are policies, but they can't go holding over {$3000.00} hostage for OVER A MONTH, when they received a wire transfer from XXXX County on XX/XX/XXXX.
Please help/investigate. I'm sure I'm not the only one in GA having problems with them.

Complaint: Amerihome Mortgage. This is a follow up to complaint # XXXX. I will be submitting a letter I received today with the following. After CFPB contacted Amerihome they finally agreed that I did possess a 100 % tax exemption for my property located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX SC. , XXXX because I am a XXXX % service connected XXXX veteran. The letter states an escrow analysis was completed and I would be receiving a check from escrow overage in the amount of {$3100.00}. I saw the check in my Amerihome online account made out on XX/XX/2018. I called them today as I had not received the check. I spoke to two employees that had no idea what they were talking about, one of them going so far as to that I would only receive about {$2000.00} because I owed back HOA fees, ridiculous because my HOA fees have never been escrowed are are paid monthly through a XXXX bank credit card. The supervisor, XXXX, who refused to provide his last name or employee ID said the {$3100.00} had been deposited back into my escrow account and a separate analysis said the refund was less over a {$1000.00} because I had to keep a padding in my escrow account of 2-3 months. My insurance is {$27.00} per months and even after the {$3100.00} check is cut there is still a couple hundred in escrow for insurance. Again, this company is taking advantage of XXXX American veterans and more than likely anyone that does business with them. Please, I am asking you to take action against these crooks, their entire staff is incompetent and knowledge of their product and the laws about servicing them is nile. These people are crooks and a federal investigation of their practices should immediately be launched. I finally spoke to XXXX XXXX who signed the scanned letter and she also was unable to provide an explanation. Unbelievable a company sends a letter of resolve and then changes their mind.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I took a mortgage in the amount of {$660000.00} to buy a house in XXXX. The mortgage has been serviced by AmeriHome Mortgage, with loan number XXXX.
On XX/XX/2018 I made a special payment ( in addition to the regular monthly payment ) of {$38000.00}.
My intention and understanding when making that payment was to apply the entire amount toward principal reduction.
I later found out that instead of used for principal reduction, AmeriHome processed it as nine monthly payments. That meant that the principal amount of those payments was applied immediately ; the escrow amount was added to the escrow account ; and the interest amount ( which is most of that amount ) was held by AmeriHome.
Even though it processed it as nine monthly payments, AmeriHome continued to draft the monthly payments from my bank accounts.
That raises the question : what happens to the interest portion of the payment I made? I do not want AmeriHome to hold these funds ( apparently indefinitely since they kept drafting the monthly payments ) while I earn no interest on them.
I contacted AmeriHome and repeatedly asked what happens with those funds, but never got a clear answer ( see attached correspondence ).
In addition, on XX/XX/2018 XXXX XXXX XXXX, a AmeriHome representative, wrote to me in response to my inquiries that " If there are any additional funds in your escrow account when it is analyzed, a surplus check will be released and mailed to you. '' However, on XX/XX/2018 a county tax disbursement was made from the escrow account in the amount of {$2400.00}, leaving a balance of {$11000.00} in the escrow account ; however no surplus check was released to me.
After some back and forth, on XX/XX/2018, I requested that the payment be reversed and applied to principal ; this is exact language of my request : " On XX/XX/2018 I made an online payment of {$38000.00}.
Of that amount, {$7900.00} was applied to principal, {$22000.00} to interest, and {$7400.00} to escrow.
I would like the entire amount to go towards principal therefore, can you please apply additional {$30000.00} ( this is the combined amount applied towards interest and escrow ) to principal, effective XX/XX/2018. '' On XX/XX/2018 I received a reply from XXXX XXXX, an AmeriHome representative, saying : " Please be advised that we have submitted a request to have these funds reversed and applied to your principal per your request. Please allow 3-4 business days for this adjustment to be completed. '' That never happened.
On XX/XX/2018 I contacted AmeriHome again to ask why my request was not processed as promised ; I received no explanation, except stating that my payment was applied as nine monthly payments ; and that for further questions I should contact XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I request that this issue be taken care of before transferring loan servicing to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX.

Complaint: We are affected by a tornado on XX/XX/2018. I have been trying to get the mortgage to release money so I can get my house fixed. Every time I call I get told they don't have something or they need something else. I have turned in all the XXXX, waiver of lien, insurance documents and contracts. They will not just release my money, every time I call I am told something different. I can't fix my house without getting the money from them. This has been the biggest mess ever. I have to call to be told that things are not processed and this is why the documents aren't correct or that they didn't accept it for one reason or another. I can't go to the website like they want me to. If I was to miss a payment they would be all over calling me.
I feel like they don't care about me and getting my house first which they should since they are really are the ones that own it.

Complaint: Hello, I am reaching out because I need assistance in resolving this issue. I tried logging into my account after I got off work on Friday XX/XX/28. Upon logging into the account, I was unable to make a payment. The system required me to make two payments. I then tried to call the payment center to make a payment by phone. Because I have a loan modification application, the system directs you to speak to a representative. Because it was after hours I could not make the payment. I am now required to make 2 payments in order to bring my account current.
I am being punished for having a loan modification on file. It seems as Amerihome is purposefully keeping me from making a payment on my account. I was told in order to make a payment I could pay a fee or mail the payment in. I made the payment. Now, I have to suffer with a late payment on my credit report which is unfair.
I have also reached out for assistance with my mortgage loan to get a reduction in my mortgage payment which includes prinicipal. I am dealing with a property underwater, sewage system failing and I am still fighting desperately to keep my home after being diagnosed with XXXX. And having 5 XXXX. Durning this process, I submitted a signed letter from the doctor which showed the time I was required to have off work. amrihome then required me to give the reason for the diagnosis. I had to disclose the XXXX, which I feel is a invasion of privacy. If I have a signed document from a doctor that should have been suffice.

Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. This complaint is about Amerihome Mortgage, Loan # XXXX. Property address, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX SC XXXX.
I am a XXXX % service connected XXXX veteran who purchased a condo at the above address. Amerihome mortgage is the loan servicer. Three months ago I filed for a XXXX County SC 100 % property tax exemption due to my service connected injuries and XXXX County SC approved it. I sent it to Amerihome Mortgage to have my payment adjusted while at the same time requested an escrow analysis for the refund of over {$3300.00} in the escrow account.
Amerihome mortgage verified my tax exemption document through XXXX XXXX and promised my payment would be adjusted and the escrow funds returned. I have spoken with them several times over the phone and been promised this is being done although to date they have refused to adjust my payment or refund the escrow funds. Every time I call I get more promises and nothing happens. Today, I emailed them that I wished to stop escrowing any taxes therefore if they refuse to honor the XXXX County tax exemption document at least I could make my Principal and Interest payment without them holding my taxes and refusing to return them. Amerihome mortgage personnel and their management team are incompetent at their positions and liars in their efforts to take my money, hold it in escrow when I have provided them everything they requested in an effort to comply with my initial request. Stay away from this mortgage lender at all cost.
