Complaint: I received a copy of my credit report and noticed the American Honda Finance was reporting a few late payments. I requested a copy of the payment history directly from the company and they indicated it was archived. They were able to see I had an account with them since they knew the information was archived. I received correspondence in the mail that they wanted more information such as Account number, Name on account, last XXXX numbers of my social and the XXXX digit Vehicle ID number. First they did have my name because I spoke with them, they did have my last XXXX of my SS because that is how they supposedly located the information to let me know it was archived and second the account number they would have also had to know it was archived. As for the VIN number that is completely asinine this has been year ago and no longer have possession of the car or any type of paperwork that would list the vin number. All I requested was the payment history that they should have listed since it is reporting on my credit report.

Complaint: I am the victim of identity theft and became aware of that when my wife died in XXXX of XXXX. I filed the police report and I went to court when Banks claimed that maybe I used an alias. The process of this identity theft is ongoing and has not ceased even up till today. American Honda Finance loaned money for car back in XXXX and I found out about this at the end of XXXX. I told them back then that I was not in the country when that car was purchased. I provided proof of that to my attorney and they made that claim to XXXX along with the other things that did n't match my identity period American Honda Finance said that I did n't meet the burden and I 'm saying that they are lying and looking at information that did not come from me and they ca n't prove that I signed or was even in the country when that car was purchased. Please have them say what proof they have besides false documents and information that does n't match mine at all. The XXXX is aware that a license was obtained online fraudulently and they refused to give me a new license number because they did n't give it to the fraudulent person in person it was done online. And I have not lived in North Carolina since XXXX of XXXX XXXX years ago. My attorney submitted to American Honda Finance my social security card and my South Carolina license and yet those things are n't in the possession of American Honda Finance and yet they think they have a claim still. I asked very respectfully for them to prove to this entity what they think constitutes me being in two continents at once.

Problems when you are unable to pay

Consumer Loan: Vehicle lease

Complaint: I leased a XXXX in XXXX of XXXX. Upon lease ending in XXXX of XXXX I was notified that there was a end of lease balance in amount of {$2900.00} for over miladge. I had conversations with American Honda Finance regarding this amount and had setup a payment plan, as I was unable to pay the debt in full in one lump sum. I specifically asked the representative if This debt was reported to my credit. I was assured that it was not. I was advised that after a certain period of time the money owed would go to collections, which I again verified WOULD NOT REPORT TO CREDIT. I have since noticed that this amount Is in fact listed as a negative factor on my credit report. I have called up American Honda Financial at : XXXX and discussed this issue with a representative. I was now being given Conflicting information and told that once the debt goes to collections, it Does get reported to credit. I was absolute, complicit and clear in my original questioning of the weight of this debt. I am in the process of securing a loan for my family to get by, and my credit score is Extremely important. I am Shocked aand appauled by the total disregard for American Honda Financials lack of competence by its empoloyees. I find this practice Highly unfair, unethical, and also a reason that Truth in Lending, Nd Honest Credit reporting rules and regulations have been enacted. I further looked into feedback on American Honda Financial Services and have seen multiple similar complaints. Please work with me to get this issue straightened out with them. I am making payments as I am able to on this debt, and was mislead and deceived.

Complaint: At the end of a XXXX year lease with Honda I owed approx {$410.00} which included the final monthly payment of {$280.00} with the remainder representing mileage charges. In attempts to collect the money owed Honda sent me several demand letters. In one such demand Honda offered that it would reduce the balance owed by approx 25 % XXXX approx {$300.00} XXXX and that if I paid the reduced amount by a date certain the remaining balance of approx {$100.00} would be reported to the credit reporting agencies as payment that was 30 days late. As the letter indicated I accepted the offer by making out a check to Honda in the amount specified.I mailed Honda the check. Honda accepted and deposited the check. Since accepting the offer and having made the payment to Honda, and Honda having accepted the payment, Honda now continues to demand payment of the remaining balance and has sent me letters stating that my account is past due. On XX/XX/XXXX, 2018 a Honda representative called me and demanded the remaining balance and advised me that if I did not make the payment Honda would report to the credit reporting agencies that my lease agreement was in default. The representative went on to threaten me and said if I did not make the payment my credit would be severely affected. I believe Honda 's collection tactics have been discriminatory on the basis of my sex and race. I am a XXXX. This is a definite bait and switch tactic used by Honda to induce me to enter into an agreement that Honda no longer wishes to honor. Honda has misrepresented its intentions and the offer it made to me.

We gave them XXXX down. When we got the first payment the total we owed was XXXX. IS THIS POSSIBLE. Are taxes that much, how is interest compounded, i do n't understand how we owe this much, in addition there have been warrantee and recall problems that they have not taken care of. XXXX, recently I have been paying the payment, plus extra on the principle. I have tried to figure out how they are calculating this, I have put in every combination of numbers, but it seems it is always about XXXX dollars in their favor. Complaint: My family and I needed a new vehicle to fit the six of us and we spent months looking for the right fit. After visiting dealers all over the state of CT we settled on Honda of XXXX. The experience seemed to be going well until the actual lease of the vehicle. I am in XXXX so I had to complete the purchase over the phone and by mail. Honda let my family take the vehicle home while the paperwork was being finalized and we left our trade-in. It took Honda over a month to process the lease paperwork so they told me they would pay the first month of the lease. I thought that was more than fair and had an even better opinion of the dealership at that point. The next month I was able to set up the auto-payment and it seemed everything was ok. Two months later we still had not received the check for our trade-in, even after several visits to the dealer to ask for it. Around the same time I was contacted while XXXX to tell me that I owed Honda for the first month of the lease that they paid for me. I countered that it was my understanding that Honda was paying that month because of their delinquency in completing the paperwork. It went back and forth like that for a few emails until Honda stopped replying and I received a notification from my credit-tracker that said my credit score had dropped. Honda recorded on my credit report on all XXXX major reporting firms that I was delinquent in paying my lease. I checked my Honda account online and paid the overdue balance because, frankly, I ca n't afford to have my credit damaged like that. I requested my free credit report from all three firms once I was able and disputed the claim. I also replied again to Honda to let them know that I thought what they did was unfair and since I paid them the amount they claimed I owed them, the least they could do was remove the delinquency from my credit report. I still have not heard back from them. I did get the resolutions back from the credit bureaus which still has the delinquency for the lease. I 'm frustrated because it feels like the big companies have all the power in these situations and my family is going to be the one that suffers because of it.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/17, a property tax of {$690.00} was erroneously added to my statement. The amount was a pass-through of property tax from the company for my leased vehicle that had been assessed by the State of XXXX and the Town XXXX. In addition, my monthly lease payment of {$480.00} was applied to the tax bill, instead of the lease as intended. Not only was the tax payment in dispute, but this act contradicted their own notice that stated that the tax bill would not affect my monthly automatic payment under the 'EasyPay ' program. I was on XXXX XXXX and provided such notice to Acura when I began the lease and I continue to serve on XXXX XXXX today. As a non-resident military member, I am exempt from XXXX property tax on the vehicle under the Servicemember 's Civil Relief Act ( XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX. Excerpt from SCRA Sec XXXX " XXXX Personal property ( 1 ) Relief from personal property taxes The personal property of a servicemember or the spouse of a servicemember shall not be deemed to be located or present in, or to have a situs for taxation in, the tax jurisdiction in which the servicemember is serving in compliance with military orders. ( 2 ) Exception for property within member 's domicile or residence This subsection applies to personal property or its use within any tax jurisdiction other than the servicemember 's or the spouse 's domicile or residence. '' I was never given a tax bill from the Town XXXX and I asked the tax to be removed from my bill, pending adjudication of the matter. I have provided a signed, notarized, affidavit that was accepted by the town 's tax assessor 's office and a copy of my military orders that both clearly articulate that I am not a XXXX resident and I am only in the state incident to military duty. Over the past two weeks, I have contacted Acura Financial Services by phone, email, and letter to no avail. The Financial Services office has passed me from XXXX representative to another and have refused my request for a written response. This misapplication of property tax and attempt at reimbursement by Acura Financial ServicesXXXX Company from XXXX XXXX members could potentially effect other servicemember/lessees in the following states that assess vehicles for property tax : XXXX XXXX XXXX only ) XXXX XXXX

Complaint: On XXXX I went into XXXX of XXXX, I wanted to trade in my XXXX that I purchased there almost XXXX years prior. I was having anxiety driving the SUV because it was too wide and I kept scratching it. I was always driving it to my medical appointments in XXXX and the parking garage was always a nightmare for me. I was diagnosed with a XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX and I found the SUV overwhelming. I had XXXX so I thought that a XXXX would be easier for me XXXX XXXX. Of course I know sales people are there to make money. And they did make plenty of money off of me. I was at the dealer for over XXXX hours. I was in a total state of XXXX, I could not even remember the terms or the pay off, and the downpayment amount they were contributing with via promotions kept changing. I just knew I could no XXXX XXXX the SUV and I had to get a smaller vehicle. I had no choice. I had to feel safe driving. I called and emailed them several times to let them know that the lease/loan that I received from them was causing me a great deal of anxiety and that I felt very confused about the lease. I had never leased a vehicle before. I continued to be confused and have major XXXX. So I called again to see if there was any way to purchase the vehicle because I did not want to pay {$830.00} a month for a vehicle I would not own. Since then my medical XXXX has become worst. I can only work 3 days a week. I was diagnosed with a XXXX and I also have a XXXX called XXXX It is when your body makes too much XXXX and it gets trapped in the XXXX and causes XXXX. The XXXX builds and affects every part of the XXXX. Major side effects are XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. I feel this is a huge reason why I just did not understand the loan/lease situation. Complaint: In trying to turn in my XXXX lease to XXXX different XXXX dealers I was rejected by all of the because Honda Financial incorrectly advised the dealers that my lease was 42 months and was n't at the end so to not take the vehicle back. Honda Financial also returned checks for payments and reported them past due. This negligence is still haunting me many years later through incorrect and updated credit reporting. They never responded to the letter attached, fixed their errors, or apologized to me. I have also filed disputes 4 times in the last year with the credit bureaus and they continue to ignore the issue and dont reply.

Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I leased a XXXX Pilot from XXXX XXXX dealership in XXXX, Massachusetts. It was a closed end lease with XXXX payments of {$380.00}, comprised of {$360.00} " Base Monthly/Single Payment '' and {$18.00} " monthly sales/use tax ''. This was my XXXX lease with XXXX XXXX, & my only complaint about the first was that I was charged XXXX Taxes of hundreds of dollars outside of the lease payments so I wanted to make sure this did n't happen again. This new lease date was XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I received a " Welcome '' packet in the mail from American Honda Finance Corporation dated XX/XX/XXXX. The envelope has the written message " Important leasing documents enclosed ''. Inside the envelope the letter says " Thank you for leasing your XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Pilot LX through American Honda Finance Corporation XXXX XXXX XXXX even though my lease was with XXXX XXXX XXXX? XXXX. The letter says " As a reminder, you are responsible for state imposed personal property taxes, which will be paid directly to the taxing authority on your behalf by XXXX, invoiced to your monthly lease statement XXXX XXXX ) and due along with your regularly scheduled lease payments. '' I presumed they were referring to the " Sales/Use '' tax included in the monthly payment pursuant to the lease. Next I received a monthly lease statement, which contained an " Important Message '' " XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, your account number and payment mailing address will change to a system upgrade. See next month 's statement enclosure for more details. '' The following month I received a " Monthly Statement '' with an " Account XXXX '' instead of a monthly lease statement with a lease number. This statement also contained a bill for {$300.00}. for " Property/Excise Taxes '' in XXXX to the Monthly Payment and tax. I disputed the property taxes repeatedly throughout the lease both verbally and in writing sent certified mail. I was told verbally several times they would fix it XXXX but then would not ). I received monthly statements that said " reversed '' or " waived '' but then I would be charged multiple late fees ( XXXX x {$19.00} on XXXX statement alone XXXX, " miscellaneous fees '' without explanation. XXXX repeatedly misapplied my monthly payments to the fees despite my objections. They basically stone walled me. In XX/XX/XXXX I refused to pay until they fixed the problem. They repossessed the vehicle without any advanced notice. The police report confirms they never had provided documentation of authorization. I filed a smalls claim complaint. XXXX agreed to reverse the repossession and late and to extend the lease on month to month basis so I could find another vehicle, if I dismissed the complaint, so I dismissed the complaint. XXXX soon as I returned the signed lease extension, the same practices started again. In XX/XX/XXXX they repossessed the vehicle again without notice or authorization. This time I told them to keep it. They sent me a notice of " XXXX Off '' effective XX/XX/XXXX. I filed another complaint in small claims court and we attempted XXXX. Their rep XXXX XXXX brought me a copy of the lease ( I did not have XXXX for some strange reason ) and a XXXX page document labeled " XXXX '' of all fees charged. These did not match the statements nor the amounts on their website so I then filed a complaint with the XXXX Attorney 's Office, who referred me to a Community Action Org. who did nothing. From XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX AHFC continued collection efforts of the charge off amount XXXX {$4500.00} XXXX. Each time I would request validation of the debt they would stop collection efforts, until XX/XX/XXXX, when I was provided with documents showing XXXX XXXX had actually SOLD the vehicle to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX so how could they lease it to me? I discovered on XX/XX/XXXX that AHFC furnished false information to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX claiming the charge off and repo were in XX/XX/XXXX. Only XXXX reported that it was disputed debt.

Complaint: I paid my car loan off & Honda Financial Services ( HFS ) refuses to release the title to my car. I was informed on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, that on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, they assessed my account a {$50.00} fee for repossession. In XXXX XXXX, my car was NOT repossessed! On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I contacted HFS because I had learned that a HFS had called my elderly mother 's cell phone. HFS provided detailed information about my account to my mother and threatened to repossess my car. The HFS representative had been informed by my mother that he did not have the correct telephone number & that he was n't speaking to the right person. She disconnected the call me & called the number back. My mother spoke to a woman and told her what had happened and wanted HFS to call me directly & explained she had a XXXX & it was confusing her why they were calling her. The woman from XXXX told my mother she would have to call me herself. ( Please note that my mother was not on the car loan note NOR was she a person listed as a person HFS could share information with ) My mother contacted me at approximately XXXX that morning ( XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX & informed a man from HFS threatened to repossess my car & the woman she spoke aid to call them. My mother also forwarded the voicemail she had received which was clearly from HFS. I immediately contacted HFS. HFS denied contacting my mother and I played the voicemail message for the XXXX representative who then transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor I spoke with stated he did not know why someone had contacted my mother as she was not a person listed on my account. I gave the supervisor permission on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX for to speak with my mother directly so he could get the information he needed to be sure it did not happen again. I was informed that I had to pay {$880.00} that morning & it was recommended that I pay via XXXX or XXXX XXXX to be sure funds were credited immediately. As requested, the payment was made on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX @ XXXX. At approximately XXXX, HFS was provided with the XXXX reference number. HFS was specifically asked to make sure the repossession was cancelled & the HFS supervisor stated that the repossession request had NOT been sent out & there was nothing to cancel. The supervisor was made aware that my recalled airbags still had n't been replaced, the protection package purchased on recommendation of HFS had issues & the repairs & services were n't being provided. He informed me airbags were back ordered. Upon receipt of my car loan statement for XXXX XXXX, I noted their was a {$50.00} repossession fee dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX so I contacted HFS & the representative stated that it would be reversed/waived because my payment had been received that morning and went on to explain that it was a " crossed communication ''. I contacted HFS upon receipt the XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX XXXX statements the repossession fee was still listed & different reason why it had n't been reversed were given ( ex : " it can take XXXX billing cycles '' ). After I made my final payment I contacted HFS numerous times for the title to my car. I would leave voicemail messages with no response. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I contacted HFS XXXX & was informed my title will not be released until I pay the repossession fee from XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I informed the representative that the car had not been repossessed & I had been told on a number of separate occasions it would be reversed. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I called HFS, I informed the representative ( XXXX ) that the car had not been repossessed on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX & requested a phone call from someone who could correct the issue and release my car title. I believe that HFS is doing this in retaliation of my demand to : correct their erroneous reports to the credit reporting agencies ; replace the airbags that were recalled ; my request for a refund of the protection package ; complaint for violating my privacy
