Complaint: I received a bill for personal property tax from my previously financed XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$230.00} from XXXX County ( see attached notification from XXXX ). This bill is incorrect, as it was levied based on the car being registered for 7 months ( see attached bill from XXXX County ) -- this is impossible since the plates were transferred from the XXXX XXXX to the new XXXX XXXX XXXX I leased in XX/XX/XXXX. I can provide a copy of the registration for my new XXXX showing this. XXXX County informed me the disposal date with the DMV needs to be updated and/or paperwork filed.
I was informed by XXXX ( refused to provide her last name for " personal privacy '' ) with Honda Financial Services today, XX/XX/XXXX, that I must pay the full, incorrect amount, wait 2-3 weeks for XXXX/Honda Financial Services to file an abatement, then wait another 8-12 ( " possibly longer '' ) weeks for the state of Virginia to respond and THEN be issued a refund.
The fact that XXXX paid an incorrect bill is not my fault. The fact that Virginia issued an incorrect bill is not my fault.
I estimate my actual tax burden to be around {$100.00} ( 25 % or 3 months ' of the full years ' tax ), and I am happy to pay that amount.

Complaint: Honda Financial extended an auto lease for a period of one year for a co-signer without my signature or permission. I was contacted by Honda collections in XXXX XXXX, Indicated I had not authorized this transaction and requested supporting documentation.
I received by mail a copy of the contract absent of my signature and mostly illegible. Assumed the issue had been closed.
On XXXX XXXX, XXXX my credit monitoring agency notified me my FICO had dropped from XXXX to XXXX as a result of a 60 day past due, XXXX balance. Notified the three credit reporting agencies and at least one has replied indicating Honda Financial certified the account as mine.
I did not authorized this contract and Honda Financial has not, and will not be able to provide evidence to the contrary. Please advise as to remedy options.

Complaint: My issue does not have to do with an auto loan, but I did n't seemy issue as a choice. It has to do with a faulty car part. Not sure if you all deal with cases like mine, but I do n't know where else to turn for help.
Wed XX/XX/XXXX I brought my car to XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, because my XXXX XXXX XXXX which I bought in XX/XX/XXXX, was having difficulties starting. My XXXX XXXX XXXX has 58k miles on it currently.
It turns out my starter is going out and they told me it would cost about {$700.00} to fix it. I was very upset, of course, because there is no way my starter should be giving me problems at this point with 58k miles on the car.
On the same day, Wed, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX 's, manager, XXXX XXXX, contacts American Honda and because this is a " known '' issue -- - I 'm informed American Honda offered to split the repair cost with me 60 % Honda and 40 % me. When I ask if I can speak to the contact person or decision maker at American Honda, XXXX XXXX tells me he " ... is prohibited from giving me American Honda 's number. '' XXXX XXXX advised me to find the number myself in my owner 's manual. Needless to say that should have been an indication as to Honda 's helpfulness in this matter.
When I called American Honda on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I protested the 60 % 40 % split, because I do not believe I should be on the hook for a part that is " known '' to be faulty. I was told by an American Honda representative or " case manager '' XXXX to take it or leave it. That my car was out of warranty and that this was a limited time 30 day courtesy offer extended to me, because I was a " loyal '' customer and the issue with the starter is a " known '' issue. When I asked for an email so I could correspond with American Honda in writing, I was told by XXXX that they would only speak to me on the phone. Even if I wrote a letter, my " case manager '' would only call me back and never return my letter in writing.
I looked into this starter problem and apparently the starter is going out on a lot of XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX models. There is also a class action law suit forming on the east coast, law firm is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
My question is do I have any other recourse? Can the CFPB put any pressure on American Honda to correct their problem and not hold consumers accountable for their faulty part? American Honda are denying culpability and hiding behind the fact that the vehicles are out of warranty as their excuse for not covering the entire cost of the repair. Is that legal?

Complaint: I purchased a Vehicle Service Contract ( VSC ) from Honda when I purchased my car 2 years ago. This contract was presented and sold to me that I would have access to road side assistance and free rental car when my car was in need of repair. Below, Ive also pasted verbiage copied directly from Hondas website regarding this contract.
A XXXX XXXX XXXX provides benefits your manufacturers warranty does not. For example, with XXXX XXXX, youll get roadside assistance1,2 and rental car coverage1 when your vehicle is being serviced for covered repairs, and extensive component coverage5 Recently I received a recall notice from Honda and called to make an appointment. I was told that I do not have a Vehicle Service Contract. I called back again and the second representative I spoke with stated that I do have one but that a recall is not considered a repair. My car is in need of repair due to the recall. Their verbiage is ridiculous. They are selling a product that does not provide what is described under their terms.
I wrote to customer service and requested that they confirm that I purchased the VSC. They responded and stated that their records indicate that I do not have one and advised to call this number ( XXXX ) if I had any additional questions. ( Case Number XXXX ) The email I received also stated that a case manager would be reaching out to me in 1-2 business days. It has now been 8 days and I have yet to receive contact.
I called the number provided and spoke with XXXX XXXX who CONFIRMED I have a VSC. I requested that she send me a copy of the contract which I received in the mail last Thursday ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I sent a copy of the contract to Honda on that same date and asked that they note my account so that I dont encounter this issue in the future. Still no response.
The VSC I purchased cost over {$2000.00} and added an additional year of payments to my loan. This is a substantial amount of money and it is mind boggling that Honda can not accurately track their own records.
I am appalled at the lack of communication from Hondas customer service. The VSC is a SCAM. I either want my money back or for Honda to acknowledge that I have a VSC and provide me the coverage that I purchased. My car is being recalled and needs to be repaired. Under the terms of the contract, a rental car should be provided when I bring my car into XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX.

Problem with paying off the loan
Complaint: Received a payoff quote from Honda Financial Services. Paid that amount prior to the date requested. Then received a letter requesting additional funds and missing documentation. Contacted Honda and explained that they cashed the check for the amount requested and documents were sent to the address on the payoff quote letter. Was told that was the wrong letter was provided therefore wrong address so documents would have been shredded and need to be sent again. In addition, sales tax was also owing because they quoted for a dealer payoff and not consumer. Sent to documents - overnighted at an additional expense. Honda continued to request lease payments and add charges. XXXX and XXXX from Honda both stated that lease was no longer in effect that the payoff was " in suspense '' waiting for the remainder of funds. No workout could be given even though twice the monthly lease payment was still owing. Remaining funds overnighted and received on a Monday morning. Checked account on Tuesday and nothing was posted to account. Contacted Honda again and was told anything sent to their overnight address would take 48-72 hours to process. Call back on Friday. Friday is actually 96 hours after Honda signed for overnight package. At this point, crossing my fingers that all will be resolved.

Complaint: About a year into the loan I went on the company 's web site and made a {$5000.00} payment ... mostly principle ... the web site showed in red letters that the payment did not go thru, try again, so I did ... ..my checking account was charged for {$10000.00} and was overdrawn ... .the web site states specifically that one can not make two principle payments on the same day which is what they tried to do ... the printout of my account with them shows exactly that ... .they have refused to pay the overdraft charge from my bank ... .it has been a year and I have stopped paying them except for sending them {$1.00} at payment time last month and will continue to do so until they make good on this problem.

Complaint: Please refer to complaint # XXXX. Since there is no way to reopen a complaint I am forced to open a new one. In the complaint previously filed, Acura indicates that they NEVER received a XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX letter from me regarding the issues I was having with their credit reporting. It took me a bit longer than I would have liked, but I knew I had a copy of my letter along with the signed Returned Receipt and my receipt from the Post office. As I have indicated in the prior complaint, Acura has been the most disorganized company to work with and even when I was paying ahead of schedule they were showing Late payments and reporting it to the Credit bureau. In their response to me which they attached a copy to the above complaint they indicate their first notice of this complaint was in XXXX sometime. It was in XXXX and I am attaching the proof. This is not fare to comsumers and should not be allowed. Once again you can see that they ca n't keep their own records straight, yet they are allowed to ruin their customers credit. Please address this. They have once again lied.

Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I leased a car through Honda Financial Services, fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX when I paid {$750.00} to catch up for what I owed for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Everything is paid up and I only owe XX/XX/XXXX payment. I fall behind due to financial hardship issues for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. At the beginning of a XX/XX/XXXX I go to my online account and pay the amount listed for {$870.00}. XX/XX/XXXX statement comes out NOT reflecting the {$870.00} payment made in XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX HFS is notified the payment is reversed ( due to the wrong bank account being used for payment in XX/XX/XXXX ). They attempt to call me on XX/XX/XXXX, at the same time they place the car out for repo and send me a letter mentioning the reversal. On XX/XX/XXXX when I go to leave for work at XXXX XXXX the car was missing. I had n't even received the notice about the reversal of the payment and found out that day when I called about it. They gave me NO notice that the car was being put out for repossession before doing so, and placed the car for repossession before I would have even received such notice! The representative I spoke to on the phone today XX/XX/XXXX stated that them trying to call me was the notice even though they could n't get through because of problems with my phone at the time. When the car was repossessed and I called them to see what I would have to do to get it back my ONLY option was to pay {$25000.00} to OWN the car out right which I explained to the woman that was n't realistic because I did n't have {$25000.00} lying around. But she insisted that was the ONLY option to get the car back even though it was going to go on my credit as a repossession. When the car sold at auction it sold for {$17000.00}. My lease loan for the vehicle that I signed the paper work for was only {$14000.00} so when the vehicle sold I should n't have owed ANYTHING. Now not only do I have a repossession that I should n't have had proper notices been given with a timely fashion for a response from myself, but according to HFS I owe them {$9900.00} for the remainder of the vehicle which i was n't FINANCIALLY responsible for via the loan amount for the lease.
